10.2 companion CD

This CD includes 1.6 version of ApEx. What is the right order of staps to get 2.2 installed on a 10.2 data base?
1. install HTTP server from the companion CD
- installing this option will not create marvel directory within the new apex home
- this option will not create a marvel.conf file
- any other files which will not be created, configured?
Is it ok just to copy this from an existing system?
2. install ApEx 2.2
3. get the image directory copied?
I just need to make sure this is the right order and I didn't miss anything before experimenting arround.
Denes Kubicek

Hello Denes,
- The order of your 1 and 2 clauses is (surprisingly) not really matter. There are several threads on the forum about users successfully installed ApEx, and only then found out they need to install the HTTP server. As far as I can tell, there is nothing in the ApEx installation script, which directly references the OHS. As long as your dads.conf/marvel.conf files will include the proper and correct parameters, it will all work just fine, regardless of the order of installation.
- You should copy the images directory prior to edit/create the dads.conf/marvel.conf, as these files must include the alias /i/ with the proper images directory path.
- The dadTool.pl utility (to obfuscate the password) is only working on the dads.conf file. If you are using mrvel, conf, you should copy the /pls/htmldb section to a dads.conf file, run the obfuscation utility, and then re-copy the section back to your marvel, conf.
- Carefully check if you need to apply the Web Toolkit patch. Please pay attention to Joel's last post in this thread, and see if it apply to you - Re: Appex 2.2 problems...after upgrading from 2.0
- another thread about upgrading. Maybe you'll find it useful -
moving to 10.2 db, can I just import the flows schema into a new 10.2 db?
Hope this helps,
Arie.

You can try requesting it via this page (these are user-to-user forums) : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html
But unless the the US rights-holder passes it to Apple and allows them to sell it in the US then Apple won't be able to sell it there

We have an extended guide that should help you repair the system of your phone. This instructions are valid for all Android based units and for some legacy Sony Ericsson models(The list of phones that can be used with the application is displayed in Step 9 of the process). please follow the instructions carefully: Turn the phone off and disconnect it from the computer.  1. Visit this link:http://www.sonymobile.com/us/tools/pc-companion/Click on Download PC companion2.Run the software After the installation the first screen will show you the PC Companion Startup Guide which gives you a brief explanation on the main modules of PC companion (Support Zone, Xperia Transfer, Contact setup and Media Go) Keep clicking next.3.Now you will see the screen with the different modules.Select Support Zone> Click Start.  The program will download the module. If you not see that error then continue with step 4.
    4. The program will show a window saying "could not find phone/Tablet” Do not Connect phone instead select Repair my phone/tablet. This will bring you to a window with a warning that says "data will be lost" (do you want to continue) Select to continue (Data in the phone will be deleted, only data in the SD card will remain. Make sure you have done all proper backups if possible)6. The program will issue a second warning stating that “data saved in the phone /tablet will be overwritten during the update of your phone”. Click on the checkmark box next to the acceptance text and select Next to continue.7. Next the computer will download the necessary files (Prepare stage, this can take several minutes depending on the speed of your connection) and then its done it will show you a list of recommendations for a successful update operation. When you are done reading this section click on the checkmark box and press Continue8. Next you will get a Battery level warning that states that your phone should have at least 80% battery. (If the issue in the phone does not permit the unit from turning on, then charge it connected to the wall charger for at least 2 hours and then comeback to this step) Then click on the checkmark and select Next9. Choose the Phone from the list then click on "next" then you will see a new section telling you how to connect the phone. (don't connect it yet) Again, at this point the phone must be off and disconnected from the PC. 10.. (in some cases a message of  "Installing drivers" will appear before the message of "the update of your phone has started..."  is shown.) 11. If you failed to follow the steps correctly the phone will turn on. If this happens disconnect the phone from the cable, turn it off and repeat from step 10). 12. If the phone is connected properly, PC Companion will proceed with the update ( It will tell you to let go of the key) then wait for the update to finish and follow instructions on screen to disconnect the unit.  End of process. ----------------------------------------------------------------------If the software fails to install:13. If "unable to install update components" 1. Close Pc companion 2. Install Java from: http://www.java.com 3. start Pc companion again and try to do the software unlock process once more. 14.Select Accessories software update. Click on start and the computer will download the necessary files (Prepare Stage) it will take several minutes. (Not globally available)If the Phone is unresponsive (Then do this extra step and when done proceed to redo the repair process:Press and hold the power button and the volume up button at the same time for 10 to 15 seconds. This will reset the unit)Note: This procedure does not work for the Xperia Play R800x (Verizon and other Non SIM card variants of the Xperia play that lack MTP support.  It does work for the R800a At&t's model)Bridge For Mac instructions on my post below. Valid for all Android based units and most java Sony Ericsson units.

  • Error Message when installing Companion CD for HTMLDB 1.6 and HTTP Server

Hi. First time forum user so bear with me.
I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this but the assistance of anyone who may be able to shed some light on the problem whould be greatly appreciated. I am having a problem when attempting to install the Companion CD for HTMLDB 1.6 and HTTP Server, details given below:
The following Oracle components have been successfully installed
         Oracle 10gR2 Database.
         Oracle 10gR2 Database patch 10.2.03.
         Critical patch up date (security).
The following Oracle component failed to install.
Companion CD for HTMLDB 1.6 and HTTP server
    Scenario leading up to failure
Extracted companion CD installation files to D:\oracle\utilities\Oracle_10_2_0_Companion
         Executed D:\oracle\utilities\Oracle_10_2_0_Companion\companion\setup.exe.
The following error message is displayed in a "JAVA VIRTUAL MACHINE LAUNCHER" dialog box
"Could not find the main event class. Program will exit."
I have been attmepting to resolve this problem for over a week and have already checked the following with no resolution to the problem:
Cause. This issue may have to do with two issues (and may occur more on Windows):-
    1. Within the ORACLE_HOME directory full pathname there is a space.
    2. The directory from where the software / patch is being installed has a space within the directory full
pathname (where the file for the installation by default is named products.jar or products.xml).
Solution. To implement the solution, please execute the following steps:-
    1. Rename the full pathname directory NOT to contain a space.
    2. Launch again the OUI... and verify if the problem occurs.
Any further guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Can you install using OUI from the RDBMS installation? IIRC, there is a problem using OUI on companion to install companion items.

Can I use Photoshop CC on my Wacom Cintiq Companion Hybrid tablet? It is an Android system. How can I download and install it?

Thomas Wyser I am sorry but you will need to run Photoshop CC using Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 or later.  Alternately you could run it under Mac OS 10.7 or later although you would need a different computer.  You can find a list of the system requirements at System requirements | Photoshop.

  • How can I export text messages from Companion?

    Dear all!
I have a number of old text messages which I would like to keep for the future. They are already erased from my tiny phone memory (I have an old SE "Cybershot"). So, right now they are only accessible via PC Companion. But: This only works if I connect my phone. If I launch the "text message synchronizing menu", the software asks me to plug in a phone, if I cancel, I'm back to main screen. However, I don't want to keep my old phone lying around for the next years just in case I want to browse through my old text messages some day.
Is there a way to export my these old messages or can I find them on my hard drive?
This might have been covered in some of the other threads, but I couldn't find a relevant post. I understand that "my Phone Explorer" allows to export text messages from the phone, but since mine are somehow hidden inside Companion, I am at a loss.
    Thanks for your help!
    Jan

Ahem, yes, that works   Didn't think of this possibility at all...
You can save indivual messages or put all the highlighted ones into one single text document. It's not very comfortable to read, but it certainly does the job!
    Thank you very much!

I have a mid-2009 MBP and I've been using my BOSE Companion 20 with it for about half a year now. It was fine until recently, when i want to adjust the volume using the pod on the BOSE Companion 20, it will cause like a surge in volume, spiking it up and down. It will not stablise itself! It's very fustrating. Anybody with the same issue?

I have the BOSE Companion 5 speakers and have had the same problem. I've searched everywhere and gotten nowhere. My speakers are way past their warranty, so calling Bose would probably get me no where either. Only thing I can think of is that the speakers overheat which causes the spikes in the volume. I've tried unplugging them for a few minutes and then plug them back on. The problem does go away, but after about 5 minutes, same problem.

  • Can I connect more than one phone to PC Companion?

I use PC Companion (version 2.01.149) to manage my contacts in an K550i, connection type is Bluetooth. Now I want to do the same with another phone, a K610i. But if my first phone is on and within reach of my laptop I can't find a way to switch to the second phone in PC Companion. So far, the only option seem to be to switch off the first phone (or move without Bluetooth reach) in order to get "How to connect" to be visible in PC Companion.
    Any solution?

You can only connect one phone at the time.
If you want to move contacts between two phones you can do backup of the first one and then apply backup on the second (done that at home and it works)

  • Error while installing htmldb from the companion cd (10R1)

    Hello team,
i needed to install apex on an existing 10gR1 database running on Windows Server 2003 SR2, so i started off by installing the companion cd stuff coming with that release.
Oddly enough, i successfully installed the http server but the htmldb installation keeps failing.
Looking at the log, the first unusual condition i spot, as i've done this operation many times over the years, is in the command generated by the installation program:
'C:\oracle\product\10.1.0\cd\jdk\jre\bin/java.exe -classpath C:\oracle\product\10.1.0\cd\marvel\jlib\htmlDBConfigClasses.jar;C:\oracle\product\10.1.0\cd\jdbc\lib\classes12.jar;C:\oracle\product\10.1.0\cd\jdk\jre\lib\rt.jar;C:\oracle\product\10.1.0\cd\jlib\ojmisc.jar;C:\oracle\product\10.1.0\cd\oui\jlib\OraInstaller.jar; htmlDBConfig C:\oracle\product\10.1.0\cd lrserver01 1521 lanza SYSAUX Valore protetto. Avvio dell'output dal processo generato dinamicamente:
    java.io.IOException: CreateProcess: env error=2
    [Ljava.lang.String;@1e5e2c3
if i execute the command above from the command line an additional message is returned:
    "version mismatch!"
However i am not clear as to what kind of version it refers to... java or what else?
I checked another installation on a similar machine and i could not see any significant difference between the two besides a different Windows 2003 service pack.
Also, in the log file all the subsequent attempts to connect to the database fail with SP2-0640 and the cause seems to be ORA-12545.
    Any clues?
    Thank you,

I hadn't found the relevant article before because the quick search of this forum by default returns only results within the last 90 days so i had to repeat the search by specifying a different timeframe.
The bug fix unfortunately is also pointed to by outdated links in various replies.

If i am correct reason should be : Oracle Application Server 10g will run as a 32-bit application
Following platforms have the same media in either case:
    Microsoft Windows 32-bit and EM64T/AMD64
(Not Itanium-64, which is separate and referred to as "Windows 64-bit")
    Linux x86 and Linux x86-64
Solaris Sparc 32-bit and Solaris Sparc 64-bit
As the Oracle Application Server 10g will be run as a 32-bit application. See the Installation Guide or readme files for any specific steps on these 64-bit platforms.

PC companion v2.1 dont ask to install the soft on a drive! lol!
Its standard any application setup, in the world, offer you a path or drive to choose to install.  Why Sony not add this in the setup?

Not true - If a program needs to download files to perform certain tasks then it will only install to the C: drive so as in this case when you perform system updates or system repairs the firmware files are downloaded to the root ie: C: drive

  • External Hard Drive - Lacie D2 Quadra, Iomega Mac Companion or MiniMax??

I'm looking for suggestions on a 2TB FW800 external hard drive for my iMac (Mid 2010).  I understand the quality/reputation of the Lacie products, but I am intrigued by the Iomega Mac Companion and Iomega Minimax.  The companion and minimax look almost identical.  Anyone have any thoughts on the difference between the two?  How about suggestions for best long-term quality? And value for the money...
I think the Lacie is the only one that powers up and powers down when the iMac wakes/sleeps.  Let me know good/bad please!  Thanks in advance...

I purchased a LaCie d2 1TB drive for Time Machine use and then a month later a second LaCie d2 1TB for my files.  I daisy-chained them and plan to get a third as an external bootable drive.  They stay on when the iMac sleeps, but that might just be a switch setting (and how could TM backup if the designated b/u drive is off?)  However, when I power down the drive power down simultaneously.  So far they work very well for me.

    I have tried the following:
    DISPLAY=:0.0; export DISPLAY
    xhost +
I tried the xclock command and it displayed the clock. So what gives?
Thanks for your help and suggestions.

This was the installation guide that I was following:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/B13958_01/toc.htm
However, I have been able to resolve my problem by ssh as root and
    then 'su oracle'.
The installation has been completed. Thanks.
