10.3.1.1565 issues

Question

I have had every BB since 2004 and after Torch, suffered through Z10 to finally reach what I hoped would be salvation with Z30, and there was light at the end of the tunnel - the last few software updates were not troublesome - the phone was firing on all cylinders - battery life was good ...... and then came the doftware update of 20 Feb 2015.
Here is a list, and by no means an exhaustive one, of the issues:
After 5 days, the battery is still in free fall - from full charge to flat in 2 hours with minimal usage as nothing really works
sometimes it only charges up to 85% and no further
Phone calls which cannot be answered
either cannot slide to green to answer as the screen is frozen (must reset)
or the phone rings but the screen is totally black and frozen (must reset)
phone numbers appear but not the corresponding contact name ... this only appears after I answer the phone
When I press the Picture tab it states that there are no photos or videos on this phone
a bar appears at the top that says it's scanning for photos but it never moves past the first milimeter
I can access the Camera folder through File Manager and the photos are there but the device will not show thumbnails
The Media Card is completely invisibale to the device even through the File Manager
camera functions but I have no idea where the pictures are stored as the little preview thumbnail on the bottom left of the screen no longer appears
Items which appear in the HUB will not open
WhatsApp items will not open
BBM will not open
SMS will not open
Generally hangs at various times on various applications
Any and all ideas and suggestions are welcome.
Yes, I have tried resetting, restarting, etc.
If I have to retrieve my backup and go through this process again, I much rather throw the phone in the bin.

1. What is happening is that your on-device battery meter is off-sync with the actual battery charge.
Connect to your OEM wall outlet battery charger and while still connected and powered on,  using the side edge volume keys, press and hold down both of the Up and Down volume keys for about 20 seconds, ignoring the initial screenshot message... the screen will go black and reboot.  After reboot leave to fully charge to 100%.
This will reset the false charge reading. You may need to do perform this procedure 2-3 times.
2. Your restart above may help resolve this.
3. Ditto on the restart. Also, remove and reinsert the Media Card to reinitiate the media card scan and building of the thumbnails

5. 1. Don't know. Don't use WhatsCrap app.
5. 2. Go to your App World, search for "BBM" and download the updated BBM for your device. That should fix your BBM issues.
