10.4.1 is full of Glitches

Has iTunes take a major nosedive for anyone else last few updates? Drag and drop isn't reliable for mp3s or album art and hitting delete on anything sends me to the 'z' section...i have to highlight individual songs to delete them. Can't just delete an entire artist.
It takes full minutes for anything to load when i drag an album's worth of mp3s from a folder into my 'music' in itunes. It used to take 20-30 seconds.
Clicking on an individual artist displays all albums in my library. (I am using list display, not any sort of cover flow.)
Using Snow Leopard, everything has been updated. This seems to be an increasing issue with the last few updates, at least since the begining of the summer. Finally getting around to putting a lot of new music in itunes and its unbearably slow...way slower than it has been in the past. Anyone have any insight?

Downloaded an album and it's full of glitches. How can I get fixed copy?

I've just downloaded "Dystopia (Bonus Tracks Version)" by Midnight Juggernauts from the UK iTunes store, and it's full of pops and glitches. I've listened to the clips from the other version of the album (listed just as "Dystopia") and the pops aren't there. The difference can be heard best on the track "Intro", where the pops really stand out - there is clearly something wrong with the files I've received.
I now see that I can't download the album again - does anyone know what to do in a case like this? Is there any way I can contact Apple to get a proper copy of the album? I'm certainly not paying for it again!
I have only just started using iTunes, and have loved it so far. But obviously I'll never use it again if I can't rely on getting a proper copy of the music I've purchased!

When you receive your e-mail receipt, you will see a link labelled "Report a problem". Click this and follow the instructions. You should receive a refund from Apple within 24 hours, but it may take several weeks for a corrected version of the album to appear in the store.

Full width glitch on Chrome

Hi, I am trying to make a portfolio website but I ame xperiencing many glitches across different browsers. I specifically am trying to have a full width page for my site but even though I make sure that my elements click on each end of the canvas, it still doesn't have full width on Chrome. On Safari, it looks fine. Why is this?

Safari full screen glitch when adding Bookmarks

Hey there people!
Love Safari, but I've had a fullscreen operation glitch for probably a year and still have not found a solution. The glitch only occurs while Safari is in full screen mode.
Problem:
1. Occurs when adding a new bookmark (in any method either thru keyboard shortcut, menu (bookmarks > add bookmark) or share button (share > add bookmark)
2. Adding Bookmarks pop up menu appears (confirming bookmark location) but underneath the pop up menu the Safari window flickers to full screen view of default mac brushed aluminium backdrop and the space quickly slides to the left. While this is happening another brushed aluminium desktop slides from the right and into view. This backdrop then flickers to reveal original Safari window content with Bookmarks pop up menu ontop.
3. However at this point before confirming bookmark add - if all desktop spaces are revealed via Mission Control, Safari has created a blank desktop space with Safari logo to the left of the original Safari screen. This space is titled the current web page but the thumbnail is blank (mac brushed aluminium backdrop). If the space is selected I can only see the brushed aluminium backdrop. It cannot be closed (with command W or Esc) or via Mission Control.
4. Back to original Safari window. After I confirm which folder to save the bookmark, Safari space slides to the left and merges with the ORIGINAL desktop space (the default desktop that is created on system boot which cannot be moved or deleted). This space now looks like normal fullscreen Safari however the dock and menu bars are showing and the space is titled Desktop rather than Safari.
6. In order to display Safari in proper fullscreen mode again, Safari has to FIRST "EXIT Full Screen" (using either keyboard shortcut or menu shortcut, full screen button does not appear). After EXIT Full Screen, Safari is correctly displayed in windowed mode in DESKTOP. Safari has to Enter Full Screen as normal to restore Safari as its own space and in full screen.
Notes:
- Glitch does not occur at other times (including adding pages to Reading List or during another pop up menu such as (File > Save As).
- The glitch was first evident since fullscreen implementation in Lion. I have since updated to Mountain Lion hoping it would fix the issue but it remains unaffected.
- I have attempted removing all Safari extensions. I have also tried removing 3rd party plugins such as Growl, Alfred. But this hasn't made any difference.

LR 5.4 Develop Full screen glitch.

This is a minor issue for me. So minor that I've never experienced it before today. I did a bit of searching but didn't find a reference to this particular problem...
This glitch is very apparent if the image is displayed 1:1 so assume that for all of the following. If I first display an image in the Library and then switch to develop there are no differences between the full screen view "F" and the normal view except for the amount of the image shown. If I have not visited the library module to view a particular image since the last time I started LR the image in full screen mode is slightly blurry, just as if the focus was off. Switch back to normal view by again pressing "F" and the picture is in focus.
I have found a way to observe the glitch 100% of the time on my system. Here is the procedure:
1. In the Develop module display any image. Select 1:1 display mode. Exit Lightroom.
2. Restart LR. The image will still be 1:1. Press the F key. The display will switch to full screen mode and the image will be blurry when compared to the normal view. Repeatedly pressing F goes from the normal view with the image in focus to the full screen mode with the image not in focus.
3. From the normal window select the library module. Reselect the Develop module. Toggling to full screen will now show the same image as in the normal window, i.e. both in focus.
Is this a known glitch--one I just wasn't successful in locating during my searches?

You're right, it does start in fit view. I wrote it from memory and remembered incorrectly . If you change #2 "The image will still be 1:1" to "Select 1:1 view mode" the rest of the statement is a correct representation of what I see.
I suspected this might be a one-off problem when I didn't find anything that remotely resembled this problem in searching with Google.
I did try deleting the preferences file com.adobe.Lightroom5.plist but didn't have any success. I also tried creating a new catalog. Same result.
I should add one other thing I've discovered. When in full display mode with a blurred image I can hit the left or right keyboard arrow to bring up a different image and then hit the opposite arrow to return to the blurred image. It is no longer blurred. This is a much faster work around for me than going into Library and back. It also tells me that there might be a problem somewhere in the display driver chain. Just a WAG.

Downloaded song is full of glitches - what to do now?

Well, the topic already says it best - I purchased and downloaded two songs by different artists today, and while the first song is fine, the second song is full of jumps and glitches of which I know shouldn't be there.

its even easier now: Recent invoices, that are sent via e-mail, carry a link "report problem".
I've had two corrupted tracks so far, no problems with exchange, though they may ask you to wait a couple of weeks, before reloading the corrupted songs.

Full Browser Glitch

I am trying to desplay a site at full browser resolution. I'm getting a weird glitch when I publish to HTML which seems like the browser first shows the website at its actual resolution, then quickly jumps to the full browser. I am using a greensock api liquidstage to create the full browser, but I dont think this is causing the problem. Has anyone seen this type of effect before their browser shows the site at full browser resolution?

Yea when I load in my flv background and use liquidstage, when I publish out, its fine. Runs with no problem. Then I try to load in the main site swf in and I get that glitch. Now without the liquidstage in the main swf I am still getting a slight delay. So atleast it seems as if it's not the liquidstage causing this problem.

Glitching while playing game's

well the story is i sent my g4ti 4800se vtd back on rma and msi send back a g4ti 4600 vt2d 8x cos they dont have no 4800 se left so i get home and stick the card in my computer and install the driver's then play a game and i have never seen a card glitch so much so i tryed a nother game still the same so i tryed it in a nother computer still the same i have tryed formating no luck bios clear no luck so what do you think is going on did they send my a f**ked card or what please help thank you

How Do I Set Reader 9 to be the Default Reader Over Old Acrobat?

Since a crash from an unrecoverable virus, I formatted my HDD and loaded Office, etc. I downloaded Reader 9 and installed it, then reloaded my old Acrobat 6. When I try to launch a pdf file from the net, I get the statement, "The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a web browser. Adobe Acrobat/Reader 8 or 9 is required. Please exit and try again." When I click OK, Acrobat launches, but doesn't open the file.
I then got the report that my Acrobat could be config'd to read files in a browser, and clicked OK to do it. However, the process began, then the blank Acrobat sat for a very long time, and while I assumed it would report that it had been done successfully, it never happened, so I carried on assuming it was done. Now it just opens, but doesn't say that it can be config'd.
Even though the notice refers to the Acrobat/Reader that is running, neither are running. I've checked startup, and it doesn't show either one to be launched at startup. Task Manager doesn't show any Adobe running except when they are launched.
I have Reader 9 installed? I never had the problem before with whatever old version of Reader that I had (7?)
Tried everything I can think of and looked at every option trying to find a config that makes either one the default reader so I can disable acrobat and enable reader.
Any ideas other than uninstalling both, then reloading my old Acrobat that serves me just fine, followed by Reader 7.1 that worked just fine would be appreciated. (my fear is that soemthing from reader 9 will be left behind, and 7 won't work)

Thanks for your response. However, it doesn't work.
On reflection, I had kept the old adobe reader software in archive and loaded it, not reader 9. Then installed acrobat 6. Both worked fine in all applications that I used, as it did previously. I can't tell you which application would view the files, but do recall that it would open the file in a separate window from the browser (fine with me). Neither application has stated it couldn't run along with the other program when loading...?
My firewall kept alerting me to adobe wanting to update to 9, but I denied it all the time until I inadvertently clicked on OK. It was after that, that all the problems began.
This is so typical of doing upgrades, and I've always refused them unless functions failed. For the most part, a bunch of extraneous crap and the need to download a lot of utils happens with upgrades - with little value for me in the "wonderful new functions" added (and I'm absolutely certain the download includes new ways to snoop in one's system).
I'll cite Netscape as an example. I used it for a very long time, and it "just simply worked" for all functions. I upgraded to ver 5, and suddenly, I had to download this player, and that whatever, and still had issues (so did my friends). Of course that was dealt with patches that were called further updates. Then came new versions with the need for more util downloads, or upgrades to them.
I had also archived version 4.7 that "just simply worked", so I cleaned all old versions out and reinstalled it. Again, it just simply worked! I used it just fine up to version 7 coming out when I went over to Outlook/Explorer. I burned the s'ware onto a CD and it went around to a bunch of friends who "went back" to the good ol' reliable as well.
I do recall having to upgrade DirectX and Windoze Media Player, but after that, it worked fine. If I clicked on a video file, it ran, no need to download another player, images opened in whatever I had - didn't need to download Quicktime or ? to view a jpeg as was the case with the newer versions, etc. It just worked!
New versions were just more crap added to make money for Netscape (and annoy the user) ie: to view a jpeg, one would have to download a utility like quicktime and netscape would get a nickel(?) for every download done through it.
I'm a firm believer in "good ol'" as opposed to new and improved - whether in software or hard goods/products. New and improved most often = lower cost, cheaper components, bigger profits for the maker, and disappointment for the user. In the case of software: sent to market full of glitches/problems that the user will likely have to find out and possibly even resolve for the maker who will then write patches on top of patches until it becomes stable - usually in time for the next flawed version to appear.
I absolutely hate having to waste time and go through this kind of frustration when something worked perfectly fine, but guess I'll have to go through it and load up the old reliable versions that will function as before. Will have to do permanent denials in the firewall for things I don't want upgraded in the future so I don't screw up.

Problem with: Action Required: Your AOL Username login must transition to Apple ID

In the early days of the iTunes store, it was possible to log in and make purchases with an AOL screen name. This has since been discontinued. In March 2015, Apple sent out a message to legacy iTunes account holders who have not yet converted their iTunes accounts from an AOL screen name to an Apple ID.
However, the conversion program seem to be completely mismanaged and full of glitches and problems. If Apple does nothing about this, the company will face costly class action lawsuits by disgruntled consumers who purchased music but will in the future be prevented from playing it.
I tried to follow the directions, but I am not able to log into the iTunes account under the AOL screen name. I tried to initiate a password recovery through the recovery email, but the recovery message with the re-sent link never arrives.
I contacted Apple support several times. During very lengthy (several hours long) conversations, we were able to locate the account. However, I was told that Apple cannot reset the password and give me access to the account - I should contact AOL. My appeals that this would be illogical because AOL does not have the power to change passwords on an iTunes store account were ignored, and it was clear that each Apple employees I spoke with just wanted to push the problem on someone else.
So I contacted AOL and was told that they have nothing to do with this. Nevertheless, we reset the password for the AOL screen name. As I predicted, this made no difference for the iTunes account: I still cannot log in.
Today I contacted Apple again, and after we we made certain that I we identified the correct iTunes account, the Apple employee manually initiated a recovery e-mail sent to me. However, the confirmation message I received refers to resetting the existing Apple ID (not the iTunes store account we are trying to turn into an Apple ID).
Clearly, there is a glitch in the system. It somehow intermingles and confuses information from the Apple ID and the AOL Screen Name / iTunes store ID and thinks that we are trying to reset the Apple ID.
Apple's response was ridiculous: Talk to AOL. (I already have done that and established that changing the AOL SN password does not allow me to gain access to the iTunes account).
This is my 4th call to Apple. Each lasted several hours (including hold time). Now I've been on hold for about 3 hours while I'm waiting to talk to a higher tier tech support person.
Does anyone have similar problems with this conversion? Any solutions?

You need to sign in with just the user name. not with the @aol.com at the end.
Example: If your AOL username is AOLUSERNAME & your AOL email is [email protected], you must log in with only AOLUSERNAME & your AOL email password & it will prompt you to change it. You can’t use your @aol email, it must be something else.

Fiery features : image shift not available

my office recently changed printers to a canon imagepress C1+ and i upgraded to a new computer running 10.6.3. we have downloaded and installed the latest driver from canon.
the "full properties" glitch is mentioned at [url="http://discussions.info.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2190095&tstart=180 "]in this forum thread[/url], as is a workaround. however, for some reason *image shift* is NOT in the list of features i can add to the +quick access+ pane.
this is an important feature from the user end, as we need to print double-sided and this corrects the placement of the second side. any suggestions welcome.

There are two EFI (Fiery) RIPS available for the imagePRESS C1+. There is the imagePRESS-T1/T2 and the imagePRESS-Q1/Q2. The 1 indicates that the RIP is using system v1.x while the 2 indicates the RIP is running system v2.x. For the imagePRESS-Q2 and imagePRESS-T2, there is a now a 10.6 driver available that does not suffer the same restrictions as the 10.5 driver. You can download this driver via the following link...

Problem with my Macbook Finder Bug/ Problème avec mon MacBook Finder Bug

Hi, two days ago I took my Macbook Pro with me for my holidays, since then, the finder can't stop glitching (I'm on Mavericks) : every time I try to open a file, a document, even my preferences the finder bug and show me the colorful circle. Even when I'm on safari it continues to freeze during 20-30 seconds. Yesterday I did the new adobe flash player update and miracle, it worked for the evening. But when I started it this morning the glitches were back, I tried to do the update again but this time it didn't work. I don't know what to do, 3 days ago it was perfect and now it is full of glitches. I'm currently writing since 10 minutes because it freezes every 10 seconds. PS: I didn't download anything so it's not due to a bad download or a full memory.

Bonjour à tous, alors il y 2 jours j'ai pris mon Macbook Pro avec moi pour mes vacances et depuis le finder n'arrête pas de bugguer (Je suis sous Mavericks) et c'est la première fois qu'un problème de la sorte m'arrive. A chaque fois que j'essaie d'ouvrir un fichier, une fenetre ou meme les préférences le finder m'affiche le cercle multicolore et bug pendant 20-30 secondes. Même sur Safari l'ordi bug toutes les 20 secondes, en ce moment meme le message que je vous envoie bug et je prend actuellement 15 minutes à l'écrire. J'ai fais hier la MAJ d'adobe flash player et ça marchait par miracle pendant la soirée. Mais en le rallumant ce matin, le bug avait réapparu. J'ai réessayé de faire cette MAJ mais aucun résultat, je ne sais plus quoi faire. Il y a 3 jours mon ordi marchait nickel et là plus rien. PS: Ce n'est pas du à un mauvais téléchargement ni à un disque trop plein.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

870A-g54 front panel audio missing from bios

Boy is this motherboard full of glitches. Teaches me a lesson about buying the cheapest for crossfire.
I would really love to use my front panel audio. Only problem is my front panel audio isn't in the BIOS!
When i bought my 870A-G54 I had to do a BIOS flash to support my six core CPU. Could the BIOS flash have changed my BIOS menu and taken away the front panel audio setting?
Lol does the motherboard even have an option to turn front panel audio on and off?
I had the bios flashed in the store the moment i baught it so i dont know how the bios looked before the flash. The Guy failed to flash my board because he had the wrong bios update and it was too big. So i had to download the right one from msi myself. People like that shouldn't work in computer stores.
My front panel audio has one of those single plug and go audio cables so im shure i couldn't install it wrong, even had the manual next to me.
Am i to be stuck without front panel audio??

What's the exact problem you're having?
Well i plug in my headphones to front audio and the software should recognize it and light up the ports on screen. But they stay greyed out and i have no mic or audio.
On my old asus motherboard i had to make shure front panel audio is turned on sorry for the confusion.

Can anyone please help with the 2.3 update in UK?

Can anyone please help? I have an unbranded x10 in the UK. PC companion constantly tells me my phone software is up to date (with android 2.1) so I cannot upgrade to 2.3. I've tried all the tips on the SE support page like deleting the database content and looking for the setting to update the phone next time it's connected which doesn't exist (very informative SE!). I'm not keen on this independent software installation through the rapidshare download, it seems full of glitches looking at the forums. http://www.sonyericsson.com/update/?lc=en&cc=gb&pid=xperiax10 This link clearly tells us the update is available through PC companion, no joy for me though. Any help is welcome.

Mac Mini + Hp3051A = won't print; uninstalled, now can't reinstall

Newer MacMini all updated. Runs Mavericks (ok, that's an oxymoron! Mavericks is full of glitches).
HP3051A J611 via wireless HAD worked, prior to upgrade to Mavericks.
Mini can see printer, but says it can't print - other messages (can't remember).
Tried shutting off Mini, tried downloading drivers again--doesn't work.
I Uninstalled HP entirely, then tried to follow HP directions to reinstall- BLOCKED.
At the window to add printer, clicked +, got window to enter name of printer.
Under "default printer" tab, CAN'T.
Window not letting data be entered, except in the search box - that won't search anything when clicked, and does not put the name of the printer into the box below.
I can click on "name" or "kind" tabs on the highlighted block, but that's all.
Below that is "name", "Location" and Use"--all of which are greyed out--can't do anything there.
There's NO "search nearby printers" option as described in HP's directions.
Typing "search nearby printers" into the search box fails, too.
Clicked the IP tab, and get boxes to fill in address, Protocol and Queue; below that is Name, Location and Use.
I tried entering the IP address, buit it turned into Printer name, went nowhere.
"Protocol" comes up "Line Printer Daemon - LPD"; other choices are: Internet Printing Protocol or HP JetDirect - Socket. Tried clicking each of those on different tries, but get nothing [I don't know what those mean]
No data can be typed into the lower 3 boxes [name, location, use].
The last tab in this window is "Windows"; it's entirely gray [can't do anything there]; this is a Mac anyway.
What to do?
I think this is a Mac-Glitch to do with Mavericks; will go there, too, to see if anyone can figure this out.

Greetings Richard, I ran into a similar situation recently with my mini server. although I believe it to be a problem of my DNS settings getting hosed. I couldn’t log in no matter what log I used-even as the root user.
I had a back up on the second drive of the mini. I did buy the USB drive when I bought the mini, so I was able to boot off the install disc. Then from the menu I choose the back up partion as the start up drive. After restarting, I was at least able to recover and copy my important files to the back up partition. I have not been able to work out the login issue yet. I’ll probably just do a reinstall on the corrupted drive.
In any event, it maybe worth it for you to buy the USB drive and boot off of it.
The verbose mode is for you to be able to login through the command line and trouble shoot from there.
Also, in safe mode, any files that you may want to change permissions, you may need to change the owner and then change the permissions. This is done with the chown command and then chmod command. You’ll need to use the sudo command so you can become the root user to use the commands and make any changes.
Hope this will at least help you get further in troubleshooting this issue.
