10.4.10 power update
Has anyone had any technical problems after downloading the latest 10.4.10 power update? I don't want to start any rumors-I'm just curious because a friend of mine said he started having USB problems after downloading the update.
It's most likely an isolated situation but I jut wanted to check and see if others are experiencing similar problems. I haven't downloaded it yet.
Yes, My iMac G5 (iSight) wont start up... it gets to the grey screen with the apple on it and the little swirly thinking circle... and stays there for about 30 seconds and then the fans rev up to full blast while im still on the same screen. It stays there untili shut it down by holding down the power button When I installed the update which required a restart it restarted just fine. I then shut it down again because it wouldnt start any programs. I could only use applications that were already open. I turned it back on again and it's been doin it ever since. I have tried starting in safe mode, single user mode(which stopped in the middle of all the writting and the fans reved up again). I reset the SMU. I reset the PRAM. I have even done a hardware test. so yes, I have been having problems... i dont know if it is because of the update or if it is just a coincidence. but this may be what i get for being a little on tha lazy side about repairing permissions. UGH. I dont want to hi jack this thread so im going to start a new one but i just wanted to let you know that i am having problems too. It's late. Goodnight.

10.4.10 power update problems
A friend of mine experienced some computer problems after downloading the latest 10.4.10 power update, mostly USB failures. When I recieved the update message I didn't download because I wanted to check to see if other people had any problems. To my surprise I discovered from going to the iMAC disccussion forum that many people were having all sorts of terrible problems. Some people had no negative experiences but many did and they weren't just USB glitches.
Has anyone here had problems after downloading the update or heard of this situation? Google "10.4.10 power update problems MAC".Hi, Mike.
You might want to search or post on the "Microsoft Messenger for Mac" group you can find on the Microsoft Mac Support - Newsgroups page. These are Google Groups with active participation from MS Microsoft Messenger for Mac users, including a variety of expert users.
I don't mean to send you somewhere else, but I've found numerous answers there for folks with questions related to MS products. Accordingly, it has often proved to be the first, best place to look for answers to questions such as you are asking.
Good luck!

2.2 update & G.P.S. power saver
The new 2.2 update said there is a GPS Save power update.
GPS on iPhone is active only when you need it. iPhone powers the GPS unit on and off quickly and automatically, so it won’t adversely affect battery life. It's not happening on my phone. Any idea's
http://www.apple.com/iphone/features/gps.htmlI'm confused on what the original question is.
This sounds more like an advertisement to a feature everyone is supposed to have known already by reading the iPhone's features dialog.
If you're talking about the super power drain, that's from a combination of everything the iPhone does. You use GPS, power drain. You use the internet, power drain. Your phone does the push feature to me.com and supposedly supported push departments like NuevaSync/GMail, power drain.
If you are looking for a battery extender life, Incase recently distributed to stores a new product that is a case with a battery pack that will give you twice the power you need. Costs $99 plus tax but you get the power you need for a long day of using the iPhone.

Hi
I have one jsp page which shows values for id, name, Phone in text boxes.
Here id is unique and not editable.
Based on id a user can edit name and Phone # and when he submits it should be updated in the db where id = xxx.
<c:set var="i" value="${param.Id}" />
<c:set var="e" value="${param.Name}" />
<c:set var="m" value="${param.phone}" />
<form method=post action="myPage.jsp" >
<sql:transaction dataSource="${example}">
<sql:update var="Power" >
UPDATE emp
SET NAME='<sql:param value="${param.Name}"/>',
PhoneNum='<sql:param value="${param.phonenum}"/>',
WHERE ID = '<c:out value="${f}"/>'
</sql:update>
</sql:transaction>

<h4><p>ID:

<h4><p>Name:

<h4><p>Phone:

<input type="submit" value="SUBMIT"/>
<input type="reset" value="CANCEL"/>

</form>I am getting Invalid Column type error when I run this page.
Any suggestion please
SPThe JSTL sql taglib uses java prepared statements.
You use question marks to indicate where you want the parameters to be substituted, exactly like JDBC (in fact it IS JDBC)
<sql:update var="Power" >
UPDATE emp
SET NAME=?,
PhoneNum=?,
WHERE ID = ?
<sql:param value="${param.Name}"/>
<sql:param value="${param.phonenum}"/>
<sql:param value="${f}"/>'
</sql:update>Also if you have
<input type="text" name="txName" size="15" value="<c:out value="${f}"/>" >
when you save this page, it will be available in JSTL as
${param.txName}
I don't know where your Name and phonenum parameters are coming from.
I am getting Invalid Column type error when I run this page.What are the types of columns for name, phonenum and id?

Hi!
I try to configure a Cisco 5508 Wireless controller and 25 Air-lap1041 to use as VoIP and data. I read documents, manuals, etc, but the AP doesn't charge the configuration, or not conect with the Wireless Controller, why? No Radius server present, only WPA security.howto, please...
I try to put a static ip in the LAP, with lwapp or capwap command, (LWAPP/CAPWAP ap ip address direccion mascara) and the AP returns "You should configure Domain and Name Server from controller CLI/GUI." and i can't change the name of the AP (Command is disabled).

Hola:
I buy a gigabit switch. I connect the service-port to gigabit switch, and laptop to gigabit switch. I used 192.168.1.x ip address (192.168.1.157 to service-port and 192.168.1.233 to wired port on laptop, well, the laptop has two ip adress, 192.168.1.233 and 209.165.200.2, and the laptop works ok. Ping to 209.165.200.230 -ip address of management interface- and ping to 209.165.200.203 -ip address for AP, is assigned by DHCP of WLC. And i connect the ap to gigabit switch, and the wlc assigns well an ip direction.
I post the run-config and sysinfo log. The gigabit switch is tp-link model tl-sg1005d, no configuration.
Before the logs, I see this message from AP:
*Apr 19 23:10:20.211: %CAPWAP-3-ERRORLOG: This AP is not supported in controller
version 6.0.199.4 ---->What's mean that? Is it compatible the ap with the WLC? ¿Es compatible el AP con el WLC?
Hola:
He comprado un switch gigabit.
*Apr 19 23:10:20.211: %CAPWAP-3-ERRORLOG: This AP is not supported in controller
version 6.0.199.4 ---->What's mean that? Is it compatible the ap with the WLC? ¿Es compatible el AP con el WLC?
Un saludo

How to use sharepoint online lists in different subsites as a datasource to powerpivot
My customer has sharepoint online + project online.
As you might know each project has a site, and in each site there are lists with the same name on each site.
We need a pivot table where we can aggregate all that list data, is this possible? Do I need powerbi, or can I do it without power bi?
Can u guide me in the right direction?
Follow me on Twitter
levalencia BlogI opened a ticket with MS support on this. They concluded that there is no means of scheduling an auto-refresh when you are aggregating more than one SharePoint list as your data source. They recommended buying a third party product to accomplish
this. Below is the relevant text I received from MS tech support for my ticket....
CAUSE: This is by design. The functionality needed for this is not currently implemented.
RESOLUTION: We were able to find a 3rd party tool that may be able to schedule refresh for these
reports (http://www.powerpivotpro.com/2015/02/introducing-power-update/)
TROUBLESHOOTING:
We assessed the report. It seemed that a Power Query data source needed to be created within Power BI, so we attempted to create that:
We were prompted to create a default gateway, even though the data was O365 data
We were only able to find references directly related to on-premise data sources and the default gateway
We attempted to find a workaround for this particular situation. We attempted the following configurations:
PowerPivot report populated by SharePoint lists
Excel report implementing SharePoint lists with the Data tab
Connecting the report to a SharePoint Document Library data source
Using OData feed for report
*All of the above configurations were unsuccessful
Additional Information
Even if a gateway could be created for the report, it would require Anonymous or Windows Authentication. O365 data sources require Claims Authentication.
Scheduled refresh can be made for SQL Azure data sources. However, this would require configuring some type of automatic refresh for the SQL Azure data source itself to populate with the SharePoint list
data. -
Guest wireless in 7.0.98 hitting the splash page
I have set up Guest wireless before with my own customized splash screen for local authentication on version 5.xx on a 4404 controller.
I have the same task again but this time with a 2201 controller and the latest ios.
Try as hard as I can i cannot get a guest wireless user to hit the splash page where it gives the certificate warning or past that to the login box.
Is there some subtle difference in the set up with 7.0.98. I did notice that when setting up the DHCP scope for the 7.0.98 i had to use the DHCP server IP as the managment interface. On my last try with 5.x I used the 192.168.80.1 address (the guest WLAN) So there is a difference right there.
Anyway the clients get an IP address so no issue there but i cannot get the cert warning up let alone the splash page. Eveidently there is a tick box I am missing. I wouldnt mide but having done this a few times before I am really stumped. I have wiped the config and started again going through my old notes step by step plus digging out the cisco documentation.
If there any debugging I can stick on please let me know.
Thanks,
NeilThank you :-) Hopefully I have captured everything you need.

MAC Delimite -
Hello,
Next week I'm facing a high density WLAN scenario, so I'm gathering info related to WLAN config advices, expected issues, etc. I've read Cisco WLAN High Density WLAN guide, but I'm still having questions about how my WLAN network will react to a high density scenario, i. e. auditorium with 800 seats. I'm planning 4-5 APs, maybe one in each corner and one in the middle.
My gear is Cisco WLC 5508 v7.4.100 with a mixture of 3600, 2600 and 1142 APs. I'm a bit doubtful about certain issues, related to high number of devices (specially iPhones and Android phones) trying to get connected to WLAN network. Regarding radio frequency planning, allow only high modulation levels, is there any other config I can set in order to force wireless clients to stop trying to associate to a certain AP? Is client-balancing setting working well with iPhone and Android phones?
My other concerns are about what info and graphics should I watch in real-time in Cisco Prime. Certanly, number of clients per Ap, but, anything else?If I get AP saturation, how should I react? Moving or adding APs? Rising modulation level?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,
Libera TAC team.I disable 1,2,5.5,6,9 and 11 Mbps, 2 to 54 are supported, TPCv1 is enable, but I´m using fixed power because the WLC assigned low power and clients get low signal. Now I´m testing an area using 1-24 Mbps as disable and 36, 48 Mbps as supported and 54 Mbps as mandatory, do you think that with this set up will we be able to manage high power level?
Here, we have serveral clients into small areas, so we have lot of APs for the amount of clients.

Isight driver install problems
Hello all, well after installing SL then Win 7 then running bootcamp inside windows almost everything is working correctly. The only error i'm faced with is the iSight drivers do not want to correctly install. At boot up i get a driver install error but when i go into the control panel it says the device is working correctly. Anyone else run into this problem?
Tnx, but the club sux! ;P
I?ve now tried everyting...
all other PCI card removed
onboard lan disabled
tried all pci slots
installed a fresh WinXP x64 and did driver-add on the soundcard first thing, in all slots etc
cut back on perihpals for more power
updated MB Bios
NOTHING works (
And yes, I have a valid ID number PCI\VEN_02&DEV_0005&SUBSYS_00202....

E2500 driving me CRAZY!!!!! PLEASE HELP.
Heres the situation. I was doing a backup over wifi on Sunday over the 2.4ghz G band. All of a sudden the speed cut down to almost nothing, lucky if I was hitting 1mbps. There were no hardware or software changes what so ever during that time.
Iv cycled the power, updated the firmware, adjusted the MTU and did every possible combo of mode / broadcast channel / channel width / security with no success. The output is so low devices such as my ipad and Roku dont even see the channel one room over.
The other strange thing is all the devices on the 5ghz N band still work perfectly.
Is it possible the G antenna is just "burnt out"? Couldnt think of a better way to put it.
Thanks in adavace.BlitzMob wrote:

After upgrading the router, did you reset the device? -
Thanks for a stealth fix - can anyone confirm this actually happened?
When the Yoga 2 Pro was released I received an error message about an unauthorized power supply when using with my energizer xpal external battery. It was only a nuisance since the battery continued to work. After this last power update I have not seen that message at all and my laptop continues to work well while on the external battery. Can anyone confirm this was an undocumented fix?
I know they fixed an error message when using other power supplies in the bios when they released the latest (11/7 I think) bios update.

Hi my name is Mikael and I?m about to go nuts.... AARHG!
Seriously this has been the toughest hardware to install ever, and I?ve been into PC hardware modding etc for 0 years! not that I?m an expert because of that but....
to the problem....
Doing a normal install with the included install CD gets me to the "driver install" part in the setup, at 84% completed, the computer stalls... reboot takes me back to the start with partial stuff from the install still in the system but not uninstallable as there is no SB X-Fi line in Add/Remove program.
Uninstalled the drivers with the application in the support directory on the install cd... rebooted and installed only the driver with the same app, and some minutes into the install the computer stalls again...
Manually installing the drivers via add/remove hardware gives me a lovely Bluescreen.
Installing in Safe mode works until I boot back to normal mode... either I can't even get into windows before I get a bluescreen or I sometimes get in and no hardware drivers have been installed says the Device manager, and wants to install the device again... resulting in one of the above scenarios...
Tried using IRQ 5 and on two different PCI slots, disabling a hardware sharing the same IRQ once, didn?t make a difference... Disabeling Onboard Sound card AC97 in MB-Bios gets me the message when booting to windows "the soundcard/hardware that uses this software can't be found....."
Sorry for the long post, but I hope I gave a understandable explanation to my problem so someone can help me as I would be very glad if someone did! ;o)
Cheers!

Message Edited by Mikae on 0-06-2006 0:22 PMTnx, but the club sux! ;P
I?ve now tried everyting...
all other PCI card removed
onboard lan disabled
tried all pci slots
installed a fresh WinXP x64 and did driver-add on the soundcard first thing, in all slots etc
cut back on perihpals for more power
updated MB Bios
NOTHING works (
And yes, I have a valid ID number PCI\VEN_02&DEV_0005&SUBSYS_00202....
Whats left but RMA!?!
Hmm, just remembered, didnt disable the USB ports... can it... no.. or?!?
*gone checking*

IPhone 5 becomes unresponsive when plugged into a wall outlet with built in USB outlet
I installed 4 wall outlets today each that has a single 110 power outlet with two USB ports as well. When my iPhone 5 is plugged in with my factory lightning to USB cable, the touch screen becomes basically unresponsive. It must be being over powered. But the iPad mini functions normally when plugged in there. I assume it's because it's a bigger device and can handle the additional power.
Update
I guess that it just had a bad connecting port on the phone itself, no clue why it wouldn't work when plugged in both ways other than there is actually some differentiating between the two sides.
