10.4.11 Update unarchive troubles

Having trouble unzipping and opening disk images. Anything created new or old with the machine works fine. Anything zipped or imaged on another or emailed:
"unable to unarchive"

Any 3gs user with ios5 update have trouble with wifi?

After updating to ios5, the wifi reception is weak. I get only a couple pf bars even in the same room as the router. And once I setp out of the room, I get no signal. The GPS cannot lock on my position.

I have the smae problem, my old 2G phone and iTouch both have great signal throughout the house but my 3GS does not. And It was not the case before upgrade to iso5. Also I use my maps a lot and never had any trouble getting lock on signal before ios5 upgrade. Now it will not lock on my position. I use the maps feature exclusively for getting around and checking travel time and traffic. Is there any soultion?

Update download trouble: App Store says, in error, "-not enough free disk space"

I wonder if anyone can help me troubleshoot this... I am unable to download some updates as from the App Store, and instead get an error message that suggests I don't have enough free disk space despite there being over 100GB free.
More detail: after installing Mavericks successfully, I started updating a few applications. While downloading iMovie and iPhoto there was an error - can't recall what the pop-up said, but I think it was a fairly general kind of error message. When I then tried to download them again, the App Store gave me an error message about free disk space, so I deleted a bunch of files and tried again. Same result, same error message ("Your hard disk does not have enough free space"). I checked on free space, however, and at this point I had over 100GB of free space.
I tried deleting the com.apple.storeagent folder in my Library/Caches folder, then trying again. but it made no difference. I've restarted, repaired permissions, verified the disk, restarted again, and I'm still seeing the error.
One odd feature of this problem: in the App Store purchases tab (see screengrab below), the icons for both iMovie and iPhoto are missing/broken, which might just point the way to what is going wrong.

2.8GHz i7
12GB RAM
Running OS X 10.9

From the menu bar, select
 ▹ System Preferences ▹ Time Machine
If the padlock icon is closed, click it to unlock the settings and authenticate. Turn Time Machine OFF, then turn it backON and close the preference pane. Wait a few minutes, then try the operation again.

IPhone 2.0.1 software update -- mail troubles

Mail has slowed tremendously since downloading the 2.0.1 software update.
Sending and receiving mail on the iPhone is now VERY slow.
Phone mail and icon/application mail communicate VERY slowly. MobileMe mail seems largely unaffected.
Please help!

Me too. I'm not finding any info on this one. Immediately after updating to 2.0.1 my mail stopped loading. The wheel just spins.

Airport Problems after update and trouble shooting

Hi There,
I have an Intel iMac and after updating airport i've been having problems with it. I'll be using the internet and all of a sudden it will just disconnect and cannot detect any network connections. Now, i've seen the other posting already about fixing this problem, and I have done what it says to fix the problem by moving the system configuration folder and the com.apple.systempreferences.plist file. After I do this, it works for a few hours but then i have the same problem again. The folder and the file is recreating and i have to follow the same steps and move them again, but then every few hours it keeps getting recreating. Is there something that i can do so i'm not constantly moving the files around and having to re-setup my network. Is there a way to reset Airport to the way it was before i installed the update?

Of course you can erase your hard drive and reinstall up to 10.4.7, and not go any higher. The problem is the 10.4.8 update, or some part of it. The many other updates recently posted for different apps are not part of the cause, so those updates can be installed.

Yes, once you've followed the "restart twice" instructions involving preference file deletion, it appears that by turning off AirPort before letting it sleep, restart, or shut down, those two files will not get the same corruption recreated. Afterwards, you should be able to turn on AirPort and after a slight delay of about six to eight seconds AirPort will be able to reacquire your network.
If you forget to turn off AirPort before sleep, restart, or shutdown, then those files will again be corrupted and you'll have to go through the process all over again. I ran through it about 50 times, changing this and that, and that's all I could come up with.
Hopefully someone else out there with a different perspective will be able to figure out what else needs to be done.

Pro Application Update causing troubles

After installing Pro Application Update 1.0 today I can't use Compressor. When I use the usual setting for AppleTV.m4v and Submit the file the Batch Monitor shows just Waiting without processing. I didn't have this issue yesterday without the Pro Application Update 1.0.

Open G version updates, any trouble?

I've been resisting integrating any Open G tools into our project for some time, because I'm afraid of future updates of the libraries breaking things in the code. But I see there are a couple things in there that I need, and would take me considerable time coding from scratch. So I have a question for those that have used Open G over the years: Have you experienced significant problems from opengl library updates breaking things in your code, which you've spend considerable time fixing/working around? I looks like the VI package manager queries what versions are the latest and installs from there. I see no way to download a comprehensive "package" that we can use, and not have to worry about it changing. Is there one? I am responsible for 6 test stations, all running identical
teststand/labview code, and I'd prefer to source control a snapshot of
the entire open G package. Then I could test new "packages" as they come out on one machine, before installing on all.

Interesting question you bring up (and valid ones as well).
As OpenG developers we have the policy that an upgrade of a package should never lead to altered results or behaviour. If code should improve and making the improvements changes inputs/outputs a new version of the VI is built with a new name (see OpenG Wiki)
If such behaviour is found by an OpenG user please report!
I have never had issues with upgrading OpenG packages in the way you mention (breaking code, altering style).
If you are worried you could take advance of VIPC functionality of VIPM, making stale library packages for a given project.
What I advice on several test stations is working with executables. Of every build you distribute you create a source distribution with everything of that application (even vi.lib files) since any VI can change how hard everyone tries to keep them compatible, for instance a VI might have a bug that you unintentionally exploit, the bug gets fixed and your code might be altered.

(BUG?) Migrating updatable views trouble

I have some simple updatable views created as:
select *
from table
where primary_key in (select ...)
which are working well on database Release1 (10.1.0.3.0 - Linux).
After moving application to Release2 (10.2 - Microsoft Windows, 32-Bit) all these views are no longer updateable.

Update Trigger Trouble

Oracle version 9.2.0.1.
I've got a "before" update trigger that fires whenever I change an existing value in the table but it doesn't fire when I delete a value or add a value that had previously been empty. It feels like I'm missing something that's probably pretty basic - many thanks for anyone who can point me in the right direction.

Something like

Maps Updater download troubles

Hi,
being on the business trip, I updated firmware on my E66 last night. After that I realized, that the map software distributed with the new firmware is old (2.0 or older), and doesn't even work, I got only notice I am supposed to download the new version. Before the update, I was using Ovi Maps 3.0 with paid navigation. Now the Maps Updater seems to have problem to download the Ovi Maps, I tried this on several internet connections already. It's saying "Cannot get enough information about the phone[1]. Connection to the map server has been interrupted (9)." Is there any chance to fix this in short time?

So I found the solution myself. As there might be problem rather with the phone than the connection, I tried few things with the phone. Maybe because there were some remaining parts of the Ovi Maps on the memory card, confusing the map uploader which version I really had, I removed the card and tried again... and that was it.
So if anyone will face similar problem, try this.

Update causing trouble with Mac Mail

I did the update this morning. All seemed ok until I tried to send an email. I can receive but not send. I check and all outgoing mail servers were gone. So I try to add my server back, get to the advanced screen to add my password and port info, when I go to click on OK nothing happens. I can't go anywhere and I have to quit mail.
Any suggestions or anyone else have this issue?

Pages update/download trouble

It says I have an update for pages but when I try to download it tells me I have sign in. Sign in where? I never got this before.

Software Update has always asked for your user name & password to update software, the name & password you use to sign into your Mac.
If you purchased Pages from the Mac App Store, sign in with the Apple ID & password you use to purchase from the Mac App Store.

This site is for U.S. models only and I see yours may be UK? I'd suggest posting your question/issue in the appropriate regional Toshiba support forum for better suggestions.
In the meantime, if, due to recent changes you have made, something is not working properly, I'd suggest using the resore point feature to return to a point in time prior to installing/updating programs/drivers to when your computer worked.

Updated phone trouble

I just updated my phone to the iso 5.1 and in the process lost all my apps and contacts

For apps, you can either sync it back using iTunes, or on your phone go to the app store - update - purchased - all or not on this phone, click on the cloud next to the app to download.
did you do a backup first b4 you updated, that you could have restore to after it was done updating.
