10.4.3. - is there something inherently wobbly in this update?
Since updating to 10.4.3 I've noticed increasingly wobbly disk behaviour. On booting my G5 one day I found that it had deleted two of the user accounts, and had locked me out. A complete reinstall was necessary and time consuming, and since then I've had to repair the hard drive at least twice using Disk Warrior - a real life saver as it turns out. My PowerBook has has also showed some wobbles, but the Disk Warrior I bought after the G5 problems saved that one from a complete rebuild.
I also find that permissions repeatedly need to be repaired, especially the burgeoning library of widgets, most of which I think could be safely deleted.
Has anyone else been having these problems? Is there anything that should be done? Thank you for your time.
Brian
Wait a couple of weeks. 10.4.4 will be along any day now.
As for the permissions repair: I think what you are seeing are the advisory messages, not actual repairs. One hopes this nonsense will end with the update. They aren't repairing anything, "We are using special permissions...." is a message of no interest to the general user.

When I send an email via MACMAIL with a photo from snow leopard to an email of a lion user using At & T , the photo shows up in the Lion user email sideways. When they email it back it returns to correct position. Is there something in Lion causing this? This also happens when in in using iphoto'11 i share/email a photo to myself and the phot shows up sideways but is in a correct position prior to emailing.
I recently tried sending myself an email through Thunderbird to another email account to see if that was the case, but the email came in with a font so tiny that it was unreadable. I had chosen a font type and size (arial 10) and just coming into my outlook inbox was virtually unreadable.
And referring to the person I work with, she doesn't have problems getting anyone else's emails, just ones I send from Thunderbird. -
There was an error downloading this update
I reinstalled Adobe CS5 on my new PC (Windows 8.1).
I installed from the DVDs and ran the updater. Most of the updates installed fine. However, I received the message "Some updates failed to install." with 8 updates listed. I read the forums and downloaded and the updates manually. This worked fine except for one update.
Adobe Pixel Bender Toolkit 2.5 update still reports "There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later."
I quit, rebooted and tried again and again and again. I received the same error message.
I found and installed what may be the latest version of the toolkit from the blog link. I rebooted, ran update again and receive the same message,
Is there a way to find and install the required update?
Thanks. So the remedy is to manually update each piece of software?
Nothing from those links has helped me. I see Adobe files/folders all over the place. None of the log files really tell me anything. Only thing I found that may mean something to Adobe staff is:

Adobe Application Manager "There was an error downloading this update"
I have recently upgraded my PC (new motherboard, CPU, memory, etc) and have reinstalled my copy of Photoshop CS5 Extended.
I forgot to deactivate my copy prior to formatting my hard drive.
Adobe application manager is telling me that I have multiple updates pending but when I run the updater it spends 15-20 minutes doing what looks like downloading the updates then proceeds to give me an error saying:
"There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later."
Please see the screenshot below.
I'm sure I'm missing something simple here but I cant figure it out. Is there anything I can do to get these updates to work?
Thank you.Hello,
1. Maybe - as you will have gathered - you have to activate/deactivate, so please have a look there:
http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-deactivation-products.html
2. Sometimes, we know in the meantime, the "opm.db file" is the culprit. In this case you should delete it.
3. Did you already try "uninstalling and re-installing"? Be careful with (de)installing aso. by (de)installing by your own resources. As much as I regret it and as strange as it may seem I fear it's a challenge for Adobe's Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool.
Sometimes - for whatever reasons - CC doesn't "want" to work. In this case you should CC completely delete and reinstall by help of Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. (A try to uninstall by own resources is not enough!)
I quote: Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool helps resolve installation problems for Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Creative Suite (CS3-CS6) applications. The tool removes installation records for prerelease installations of Creative Cloud or Creative Suite applications. It does not affect existing installations of previous versions of Creative Cloud or Creative Suite applications.
Please use: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html and follow the prescribed sequence of operations
4. If necessary and for further questions click through http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html or http://helpx.adobe.com/de/contact.html and if "open" please use chat, I had the best experiences. (I quote from Preran: The chat button is activated as soon as there is an agent available to help.)
Good luck!

When trying to update my CC apps, the update fails. I get this error: Update Failed. There was an error installing this update. Please try again later or connect customer support. This is currently happening for InDesign, Photoshop and Bridge. I had this problem previous and was able to fix by doing a complete wipe of my computer and reinstalling CC. However, I should not have to wipe my computer clean everytime I need to do a CC update. HELP!

Product updates -
I have a Windows PC - OS: Win 7 Home Premium, SP1
I recently had to have my hard drive replaced and, as result, had to reinstall the Adobe products I own: Acrobat 10, Premiere Elements & Photoshop 9
I assume as part of reinstalling the software the Adobe Application Manager was installed as well - regardless, it indicates 'updates are available' -- however when I open the updater I am receiving the error message:
'There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later'
The full message is as follows:
'Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.0.3 Update
There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later.
Photoshop Camera Raw 6.5 Update
There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later.
Premiere Elements 9.0.1 Updater
There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later.'
Please advise!! thank you kindly
(secondary problem: whenever I open Elements or Photoshop and I am asked to log in with my Adobe ID, I get the error message 'Error. Photoshop.com services are currently unavailable. Please try again later or check your network connections. Error 400'. Now I know photoshop.com was replaced with Revel - but why is it consistently giving me the same error message? shouldn't it be updated by now or, specifically, is this indicative of a different problem when I attempt to login with my Adobe ID??)
thank you so much for any help provided!!I don't know why you are getting these errors. Try downloading & installing the updates manually from http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates.html

William Bell.thank you,
I downloaded updates and installed manually, had to mess around a bit.
Start the updater from the program first, then install from the download.
Also, moved plugins that are for Premier from common plugins directory,
to the Premier plugins directory. Stopped the error I got launching After Effects
that said to reinstall the plugins.
Cheers!
