10.4.3 Update foze my mac HELP!

I am not a proficent mac expert so I don't recal the specific language of the prompts but this is what happend
I ran software update so I could get 10.4.3, came back a few minutes later and the instillation had timed out. Said to quit instillation, delete incomplete download, and then restart.
Well I screwed up got distracted and forgot to delete the incomplete download before I restarted, now the mac gets to the grey apple startup page and stays there.
I ran a hardware check off the reinstall cd and all is Ok hardware wise.
Could I fix this by reinstalling tiger?
How can I get into the system to delete the incomplete files if I can't get to my desktop?

That will at least help you determine if some third party software that was installed doesn't speak well to the update. If the update though froze midstream, fixing that sort of situation may take a lot more than safe mode. If you are happy that everything is backed up, I would also check that the directory (Repair Disk) doesn't show anything bad:

I had a similar problem myself. This is what helped me.
I went to the App store app, scrolled to the bottom, logged out of the account, re logged in with my Apple ID. Then went back to app updates. Once I put in my ID password all was fine.

You must first buy Snow Leopard from Apple: 800-MY-APPLE (in the US)
Make sure your system meets Snow Leopard's requirements:

Since downloading latest software update for "numbers", Mac is now extremely slow at loading anything and has trouble playing videos (buffering). Also when put Mac to sleep, it wakes up by itself and then back to sleep, etc. Please help!

OK, thanks. First, open Disk Utility and the Repair Disk Permissions on your internal HD. You can find DU in Applications - Utilitie. Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
1. Open iTunes on a computer
2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."

4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.

Help with Adobe Reader update installation on mac book pro

am trying to update adobe reader 9.4.6 to the latest version on my mac book pro. Am able to download the updtae to 10. whatever and proceed with installation. At the step where I am asked to choose the adobe reader file, I select the file and then the process stops and I get a message that installation has failed and i am to contact the software manufacturer.

Turn the computer off by holding down the power button, then get your original DVD that came with the Macbook insert it in the DVD drive as soon as you can and then hold down the "C" key while the computer restarts and then run disk utility on your hard drive, also repair your permissions.

My Air won't do anything, I can't move the mouse and the keys won't respond. It came after an OS update from the Mac Appstore. HELP!

Only Apple could hamstring and tie Mac OS to Windows. There isn't any other than whether you can download the drivers into Windows (you can) but Apple puts a block on the installer setup even if your mac does not support it.
Windows 7 needs at least Boot Camp 3.1 and 3.3 is what you should already have. And you are not getting security updates if you don't have at least 10.6.8 as was pointed out. --- you arent using Software Update as you should. And you should backup and clone Mac (and Windows) as well.
You need Mountain Lion to use Boot Camp 5.x which supports Windows 7 & 8 and 64-bit.
I would upgrade to Lion if you can realizing that Rosetta and PowerPC are no longer supported though.

How do I use the Boot Camp 5 Support Software I downloaded from the web page?
The download file is a .zip file. Double click it to uncompress it.
Double-click the Boot Camp disk image.
Copy the Boot Camp and "$WinPEDriver$" folders to the root level of a USB flash drive or hard drive that is formatted with the FAT file system (see question below for steps on how to format).
Install Windows, leaving the flash or hard drive attached to the USB port of your Mac.

How do I format USB media to the FAT file system?
Use Disk Utility to format a disk to use with a Windows computer. Here's how:
Important: Formatting a disk erases all the files on it. Copy any files you want to save to another disk before formatting the disk.
Open Disk Utility.
Select the disk you want to format for use with Windows computers.
Click Erase, and choose one of the following from the Format pop-up menu:
If the size of the disk is 32 GB or less, choose MS-DOS (FAT).
If the size of the disk is over 32 GB, choose ExFAT.
Type a name for the disk. The maximum length is 11 characters.
