10.4.7 and now bad bluetooth

I have a G4 cube (look at my profile) with a D Link bluetooth adapter for my apple bluetooth mouse and keyboard. After installing the 10.4.7 Power PC update, I forgot to turn on my keyboard at the restart, so the setup assistant came up and asked me to setup my keyboard. Now this has happened several other times, but all I've had to do is turn on my keyboard, and it would recognize it just fine, but not this time. The setup assistant wouldn't find my keyboard to the point that the keyboard would go to sleep because nothing was happening. After turning it off and back on several times, it finally saw it for long enough to ask to type the 6 digits it showed to pair the keyboard. Now I've never needed to re-pair the keyboard and the computer before, and after looking in the bluetooth sys prefs, I noticed that my mouse was in there as a device, but not the keyboard, so the update deleted the keyboard device. Anyways, when I went to type the 6 digits, the computer lost the keyboard connection, and I was back at square one.
Now as I kept trying to pair the keyboard and computer, several times my mouse would go out, and I'd need to turn it off and reconnect it. Then at one point, my mouse wouldn't reconnect, so I needed to whip out a USB mouse and fumble around to plug it in. As of midnight on july 7th, I still don't have the bluetooth keyboard working, and have resorted to getting out a usb mouse AND keyboard, because both have been intermediate. I only installed the update today, and these problems just started after the update.
I've noticed that many other people are having problems with bluetooth and other devices like headsets and palms, ect, after the update. If I recall correctly, wasn't this update supposed to improve the bluetooth, wasn't that one of the features? I'm really tempted to go back to 10.4.6 but now aren't sure how to uninstall 10.4.7.

You have put yourself in this position in so many ways. First, no backup, and then to complicate things, no backup (please get a backup). Second, you are away from home, and you would dare to try an OS update. Ok, now o the fix, hopefully.
When you start up off your disk, and after you select your language, look at the top for a "Utilities" menu. Select Disk Utility. Run that, and then, if it fixes things, quit it, and re-run the Archive and Install. Maybe it will go id DU fixed anything.
Note: You will have a "Previous System" folder for each time you tried the A&I. You may trash those whenever you like. I would not trust anything in there, anyway.

I have an ITunes account. I got it when I got my IPOD. I've thought about upgrading, but I didn't see any reason to buy a newer IPOD because they all come with so much stuff I don't want/need. I don't have my current IPOD filled yet and I really don't need an IPOD Touch that has capabilities that my Droid already has. I don't need to be concerned with documents, mail, attaching to Facebook or playing games. I can do all that on my phone. I just want to maintain my music between 3 devices.
So now that I see it is not to my benefit to have this product---can you point me in the direction to cancel this? And how do I get my music back? Will it show up once I cancel my account?

New HP EVA6000 SAN and now bad database performance problems

we changed our SAN Hardware to a HP EVA6000 and moved all Data to there.
It is intended that storagesystem is for all Servers (File/Print, Exchange, Oracle Databases and MSSQL Databases).
According to the best practice papers of HP we created one big discgroup (fata harddiscs) and created virtual discs for our servers.
After doing this the database performance was terrible bad!
Especially the multiple random IO is absolutely worse.
As a first countermeasure we created a second discgroup on faster harddiscs and moved the database contents to there. We analyzed the IO and moved several database file to different virtual discs.
The performance is better now, but still not like the 4 year old SAN System!
Of course we questioned HP and even let them do a performance analysis but up to now we have no solution... The performance analysis report will be available on thursday.
Does anybody had the same experience or how did you configure the Database and EVA SAN to work with an appropiate performance?

I'm not an Oracle person, but do work with EVA SAN's.
Your 48 FATA disk, disk group is capable of 4800 I/O operations per second [48 x 100] but the disks are only rated for 30% duty cycle and spin at 7200 rpm.
The 16 FC drive Disk Group I/O operations rating depends on the speed the disks spin at. 10K rpm disks are rated at 130 I/O per sec [2080 for the group] and if they are 15K rpm disks then 170 I/O per sec [2720 for the group]. Both are rated for 100% duty cycle.
I seem to recall having have read somewhere that Oracle prefers to have it's logs on separate storage to it's data.
If your shelves had the spare disk slots I would put in 72 GB 15K rpm disks up to the capacity required {+ overhead } + head room for reasonably predictable growth over the anticpated life of the equipment.

I hope this helps you understand the storage that you are working with a bit better. The old saying of "more heads make for better performance" is still true, however budget can have some affect in performance. ;-)

Are you running Leopard on your Mac, Laurie?
If so, try instead updating to iTunes 10.6.3.25. (That supports earlier models of iPhones running iOS 6, even though it can't run the new iPhone 5s.)

Updated to 4.4 and now my Bluetooth 'studders' when listening to music and a phone call. Yes I have reset the phone and removed the battery.

I just updated my Note 3 to 4.4.2. Since then when I listen to music or make a call on my Bluetooth my music and calls 'studders' and has some type of 'drop-outs' during the music and calls. This was not the case prior to the update.
Yes, I have power down the phone. Yes, I have removed the battery and restarted the phone. My Bluetooth headset is an LG 730. I tried listening to music on my other Bluetooth devices and they also 'studders' and has drop-outs during calls and music. I connected with a wired headset and the 'studdering' disappeared.
Is there a way to revert back to the previous 4.3 version of Android. I use my phone extensively for business and drive with it. The law for my state requires 'hands free' usage of my phone.

Unfortunately, I was forced to do a factory Reset. This wiped the device to a new state.
Afterwards all Blue-tooth, wi-fi and calls operated fine.
I would advise that you notify your customers that they would most likely have to do a Factory Reset once they update their device.
All contacts, pictures, data and applications were either lost or had to be reinstalled.

No bluetooth after 8.1 upgrade and now no bluetooth driver

Hi. I can't access my bluetooth anymore. I would reinstall the intel bluetooth driver and it still wouldn't show up in under networks in device manager or show a networks adapter. I called HP Tech Support. He remotely uninstalled the intel bluetooth and ralink bluetooth from Programs by using Revo Uninstall. Then tried to reinstall Intel bluetooth and it didn't work. He said I'd have to send it in for repair. I looked under programs and there is no indication of bluetooth driver and/or adapter whatsover. Please assist if you can. I don't want to send it in for repair when I just sent it in last month my product # E0K90UA

I understand that drivers are sometimes a problem, but still why can´t I uninstall force tor remove?
Could you help me do that?

Often with poorly written software drivers they dont clean up after themselves and leave bits behind that prevent re-installation. Sometimes if a driver is uninstalled in the incorrect way it will leave entries in your registry that will also prevent
re-installation.
You may also have a malware app blocking the installation.
I would (just to check) run a system file check to verify the OS and if errors are found that cant be fixed run DISM which is listed at the end of that wiki.

I just downloaded the newest IOS software and now my iPhone5 won't pair with the Bluetooth in my car (the car system says it's paired when I try to re-pair it but then when n try to make a call it tells me it doesn't recognize the phone.

I just downloaded the IOS upgrade, 7.0.2, and now my iPhone 5 won't pair with my Bluetooth in my car, despite repeated attempts to re-pair the two and despite the fact it's been paired fine previously. The car system tells me it's paired but then when I try to make a call I get another message that says there is no paired phone.

You can't override it no matter what you do. The device has to connect to the server to complete the iOS update. You could try rebooting the iPad and see if that lets you connect to the server after it starts up.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that will not work, you can try connecting to iTunes on your computer and see if the activation will complete. Sometimes when thes activation issues arise, you end up having to restore the device again, but first things first. Reboot and see what happens.

I have just updated my iPhone 4 with latest IOS 7 and now wi fi greyed out and Bluetooth not working. Tried reset, restore everything - no use. Its out of warranty too. I refuse to pay for a new phone when clearly this is an apple issue not phone issue.

I have not had wifi since November when I upgraded to the newest IOS version. I called the Apple help line and they told me some things to do and I tried them all and they worked for a few hours and then wifi shut off again. I kept doing what they told me and it worked for a couple more days and then I could never turn it on again. My blue tooth doesn't work either. I had to actually increase my data usage with AT&T becuase of this. When I did that in December I went to the Apple store and was told that it is a hardware issue and since my phone is out of warranty I would have to pay for a new phone because they could not fix the issue. My upgrade isn't up until June 2014 so not only do I have to wait for the upgrade and I am not paying for a new phone but I have to pay $10 plus extra a month on my cell phone bill because I was going over on my Data!!! I have been beyond upset about this and Apple is not doing anything about this nor did they offer up some way to resolve the issue because obviously it is not just some rare incident if several people are having this issue. Who knows how many people out there have had this issue and have not said anything about it. Now there is a newer update that I can't do because it requires wifi in order to download.

You don't. Apps are permanently tied to the ID used to purchase them. Instead of creating a new ID, change the primary email address on your existing ID.

TS1559 still no solution for greyed out wifi and bluetooth - what to do? been messing around with it for weeks and now discover I'm just outside of warranty period? WHAT?

well, you know how it is - glitches that usually resolve with a hard reset etc
then a restore. then a factory restore....then ..... nothing fixes so I try the next step with apple online - fill out my serial number and find it is a couple of weeks out of date - and then with the holidays who has time to get to the apple store? this is my second 4s handset as it is - first one the glass cracked from L to R without any impact/damage etc - they changed it out automatically because it's a 'known fault' apparently - so technically, this handset is only 6 months old - but warranty is from original purchase date -
never imagined it would turn out to be a warranty issue with the phone - and hey maybe when I get a chance to go to the apple store they'll be sympathetic, but I won't be able to get there till at least Jan 4th as it is. On the other hand, another iOS update might resolve the issue - but how long till that release? at the moment I'm having to use my old 3gs for wifi and 4s for phone!!!
