10.4.7 CPU Whine!!!! Please HeLp.. Newbie!!!!

Hi Guys..
I recently got a MBP (week 23) standard config.. As far as i remember i didnt notice the whirring or buzzing sound (known as CPU whine) until i upgraded to 10.4.7..
Well its pretty faint but i can easily here it when i am in a silent room n the thought that i have it now really makes me hear that n indeed this bugs me.. This is my first ever Apple product n first ever laptop (I am a newbie)..
I talked to a guy on apple support n told him about the issue n he said it might be the inverter buzz n is a hardware issue.. BUT i told him tht it cant be hardware as it goes away whn i turn on the photobooth or i do CPU intensive tasks, so it seems to me that its a software thingy..
So i have two quetions:
1) Is it a hardware issue or not??? If it is then i am gona send it back (ny suggestions on tht too will be appreciated)..
2) Other than the slight whine, ITS PERFECT, totaly NO ISSUES.. Jus wondering tht i turn the photobooth on to make it silent what effect does it make on the battery??? Cant figure out
Any help will be much appreciated as i need to make a decision tht whether i m gona send it back or keep it (plz provide suggestions on tht too if you can..)

Yes, I already talked to one of the Apple staff in Ireland (I lived in Swiss) and they admitted that it IS the hardware related problem. They said the build is not somehow fully compatible with the core program of MAC OSX causing the noise from CPU and, quite a few times, with the power invertor.
You can search my posts here for more information about this issues. What I would recommend you to do is try to get a hold of Apple store, ask them for a replacement (you can even put the noise on phone for them to hear as I did). You have to be quick before your 14 days of return expires. That what I did and now I am waiting for my new one to arrive.

Okay so I have been having this problem and it is really bothersome. My CPU usage spikes up to 100% when I do most anything and if I am running Adobe Flash it stays at 100%. I cannot watch movies or play games. My computer is running hot. We found that propping it up so it could get air helped but not for long. It goes right back up to 100%. Cant connect to database please help newbie here

I am very new to oracle and have just installed oracle database 10g express beta. The problem is when I log into the homepage nothing happens. It just goes back to the log in screen again. I have tried using the wrong password and it gives me a error message. I have also gone through SQL and it says i'm connected.But I can't get the icons to come up after logging in. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Similar problems to yours have been reported on the forum.
The first seemed to be being caused by ZoneAlalrm - see Database home page will not load whilst ZoneAlarm Pro is running
The second seemed to occur if the user was connected to their corporate network via VPN - see Database Home page / VPN's

I am running Win7 64 bit on a Sony Vaio laptop and recently updated to Firefox 6.0. Now it maxes out the CPU. Please help to solve this issue. I absolutely hate using Chrome or IE !!!

This is a copy of ONEof the keys in the registry I changed as told by Apple support today. I also have changed others as instructed by GEAR software support to manually delete GEAR drivers (that I had installed but couldn't delete some of the others they mentioned from Windows system 32. Then some bright spark at work told me I need the Gear drivers so I downloaded the software and installed again.

On the Home (applications launcher) screen, tap the clock in the top left corner to enter the Menu. Select Delete, and delete the application from there.

KT3 ULTRA2 Trouble, please help me

I have a big problem with my new computer. I have purchased a new pc. And it won´t work. The D-bracket hangs on memory test. IT won´t lighten the monitor and if i press reset it will beep three long beeps.
I have got a new motherbord because the first was broken and i have tested another memory and that didn´t help. And my memory works in another computer. I have tested the harddrive and the graphic card and they work too. I have tested with my other power supply too but same problem and that is a 300W power supply. But i haven´t tested the CPU because i don´t have another computer to test it in.
Whats wrong the motherboard again? or the CPU? Please help me!!!!

HP G62 B50SQ CPU Whine [HELP PLEASE]

I have one HP G62 B50SQ laptop 2 months old now. Two weeks ago, it didn't powered on anymore so I sent it for warranty. They replaced the motherboard and the AC adapter. Ever since the laptop is emitting one very high pitch sound from the processor area which, as I identified on the Internet, I suppose it is CPU whine. The sound gets really annoying if I connect any USB device to the laptop (mice, or external hdd). Also the sound is present with the same intensity on AC or DC. I confess that it is very disturbing because I work most of the time in a quiet environment and I would like to know how it is possible to fix this. I've read on the Internet about disabling C4 state in BIOS, but the BIOS version that I currently have (F.47 , 2/15/2011) does not have this option. Also, If I send it back does the warranty apply or it is something that I should be supposed to live with? Thank you for your replies.

Hmmmm... would appear that you need to be actually logged in to enable the additional menu features.
Have you tried deletting the plists for MAS?

What you can redownload will depend upon what country that you are in (not all content types can be redownloaded in all countries) and whether they are still in your country's store (content providers occasionally remove their items from sale) - if you go into the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes you should see what you can re-download :

Problem... High CPU load with HDD. Please Help

Im stuck. Ive got a MSI KA790GX which has poor HDD access/transfer, low burst rate and very high CPU load.
As far as i know the Western Digital 640gb WD6401AALS Black should be a fast hard drive. Which according to reviews/HD Tune,
should be:-
Minimum 60mb/sec
Maximum 120mb/sec
Average 95mb/sec
Access 12ms
Burst 110mb/sec
CPU 5%
No matter what I try, i always get poor results...
My MSI KA790GX
Minimum 41mb/sec ~ 54mb/sec
Maximum 104mb/sec ~ 108mb/sec
Average 86mb/sec ~89mb/sec
Access 12ms
Burst 60mb/sec ~ 80mb/sec
CPU 26% ~ 44%!!!!!!!!
I could accept not getting the same high speed results as the review/reference, even if the burst rate sucked.
But one of the cores goes to 50%-60% load during hdd activity. Thats just crazy!!
I have tried...
IDE mode, AHCI, RAID Ready, RAID Single Disk
SATA Port 1, 2, 3, 4 + 5
Different SATA cables
Flashed bios, cleared bios, optimised defaults, failsafe defaults
Windows XP 32bit, Vista 32bit, Vista 64bit. fresh installs
MSI CD Drivers, MSI Web Drivers, AMD/ATI Web Drivers
... and combinations of.
I have also tested the WD640gb Black on another older PC, with Nvidia (55?) chipset and slower (1.9ghz x2) cpu.
Transfer rates were slightly better than my KA790GX but, Burst Rate = 115mb/sec and CPU usage = 13%.
I also tried a Seagate 1.5tb (ST31500341AS) on both PCs,
Nvidia chipset
Minimum 65mb/sec
Maximum 134mb/sec
Average 107mb/sec
Access 14ms
Burst 83mb/sec
CPU 7%
On my MSI KA790GX
Minimum 55mb/sec
Maximum 120mb/sec
Average 100mb/sec
Access 14ms
Burst 87mb/sec
CPU 33%!!!!
Could someone please please help, ive spent hours and hours on this. Its doin my head in.

I have Vista 64, but i did try XP32 and Vista32 and got similar poor results.
I tested HDD speed with, HD Tune 2.55 and HD Tune 3.50 trial.
No auto-start programs really, Windows clean installs + any drivers.

Reinstalled Vista64 but loaded the AHCI driver from the disk config screen. This seems to have stopped the high cpu usage during disk activity.

Max = 106mb/sec
Ave = 88mb/sec
Access = 12ms
Burst = 77mb/sec
CPU = 3.4%
HDTune with Windows Power settings @ Balanced
Min = 54mb/sec

Burst = 65mb/sec
CPU = 12%
So now transfer speed is about 10% slower than reference. But burst speed is terrible.
I also used IBM Feature Tool to change the HDD AAM to 'performance mode' 254 as suggested elsewhere.
Long shot as the hdd performs ok with other hardware. same results.
Also MSI support asked me to try a newer bios, version 1.51. same results.
Anyone know what the AMD 7-Series Chipsets Disk Performance Utility does, and should i run it in Vista64?

I've created a photo gallery in Flash CS3 that contains 2 UI
Loaders (one for a graphic title for the image, and one for the
image itself) and have tested it and it works fine. I even
published the file as an independent html file and it seems to work
fine when tested in the browser too. My problem is that when I
place the .swf into my html page in dreamweaver and test it, the
file shows up, but the loader info doesn't work. The images don't
load.

I am getting a message on the bottom of my computer task bar that says Firefox is using a large amount of the CPU. I noticed that my computer is running extremely slow and in thunderbird it takes a long time to print attachments.
I have another computer and I did not load the upgrade. That computer is working fine. Please help

I too have noticed that once i restored from iCloud. Pictures blurry and videos wont play!
