10.4.9 and then no iTunes
I put in a disk to upload and iTunes goes to open in the dock, then retreats, and no amount of coaxing will bring it out. This is extremely annoying - any thoughts?
try repairing your disk permissions.
open your disk utility
applications > utilities > disk utility
in the left column, choose your hard drive
at the top, choose the first aid tab
at the bottom, choose the repair disk permissions button

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR suitable for your PC (there's a 32-bit Windows version and a 64-bit Windows version):

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?

When I plug my iPhone 4s into my PC, I get a message that says iTunes needs a newer version of Apple Mobile Device Support. It wants me to uninstall both the AMDS and iTunes and then reinstall iTunes. iTunes won't recognize my phone and so I can't synch it. Has anyone else run into this problem recently and how did you resolve it? Thanks!

I suppose I should have prefaced my question with the concern that I've read a number of other posts from people who have had a similar issue and when they tried to follow the directions, they ran into a multitude of other problems. I have not had any issue with Itunes on my PC until very recently. Every now and then my Itunes library appears on my screen? I have not clicked the itunes icon beforehand nor plugged in my Ipod Touch? Why does this happen please as it is driving me crazy!.
What's the precise text of the message, please? (There's a couple of different ones I can think of that you might be getting.)

Me compre un ipod classic de 160gb cada vez que trato de ponerle musica de mi disco duro externo solo copia hasta 1500 canciones y luego me congela el Itune y no lo puedo cerrar, me pide que restaure el ipod como de fabrica, lo hago y nada. Trato de cerrar el programa de itune y no me deja, trato de apagar el computador y no lo puedo apagar, he buscado para ver si tiene errores el disco del Ipod y me dice que esta bien. He aplastado Menu y Seleccion para entrar al sistemade diagnostic o del ipod y le pongo el test manual donde entro al IO y me dice q todo esta bien. When trying to install the recent iTunes update, I got the Error Message "Program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer." Apple's recommended solution involves the step of uninstalling and then reinstalling iTunes on my laptop. I'm concerned that when I reinstall, iTunes will think it's a new device and use up one of the 5 device authorizations the iTunes accounts allow. Do I need to do anything in particular to prevent that? If yes, what should I do?

KatyaActually, I'd use the following user tip rather than the Apple document as a guide. (At the time I'm writing this reply, the user tip is much better organised, more accurate and way more up to date that the Apple document.)
Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates
In the normal course of events, and uninstall/reinstall doesn't affect your number of authorisations on a computer. Usually, it requires a serious hardware change (like a new hard drive or motherboard), or a BIOS update, or an upgrade to a different Windows operating system to confuse your iTunes and make it think that it is now installed on a different computer before you end up using extra authorisations for the same operating system for the same computer. (So if you ever have to do things like major hardware changes, or BIOS updates on the computer, deauthorise the PC first, and then reauthorise after the change has been carried out.) -
I can no longer edit the info for my songs, movies and tv shows. This occurred since I loaded Windows 7 Pro on my C drive, and then fownloaded ITunes 10. Why will the program not allow me to access the track info to edit it?
Ah yes school boy error there out of frustration and discontent..
My issue is with music/apps/films etc not downloading from iTunes / App Store.
They initially fail and message is displayed stating unable to download / purchase at this time, yet if I retry it says I've already purchased (?) or alternatively I go to the purchased section and there they are waiting with the cloud symbol..
However some items get frozen in the download window and cannot be retried or deleted. Message appears stating to tap to retry, but even if you stole every bath and sink in the uk you'd still not have enough taps.
I post here as the iTunes guys are useless in there 'help' and have only advised posting here or phoning apple, at my expense, to explain a problem that could be rectified by forwarding my original email to a techie. However the tech team apparently don't have an email address as they're from ye olde Middle Ages..!
Anyways I digress.
So I tried sync to pc, but instead of showing the file as ready to listen/use/view, the iCloud symbol shows and I'm back to square one as the item is unable to download..
At frustration station waiting for a train from pain...
All my software is up to date, and had all worked fine prior to the last big iOS update that resulted in all the changes in display and dismay.

Updated iTunes to latest version (10.4.1.10) resulted in computer no longer recognising my iPhone 4. Uninstalled and then reinstalled iTunes, still my iPhone is not detected by iTunes.

Doublechecking. Have you also tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:

I am triying to manually add files to my iphone and dont let me. When I check mark on manually manage box on itunes and then apply, itunes said that I already synced my iphone in other computer. I never had use another itunes to synced my iphone.

I have just installed the new version of itune (11.1) and it keeps coming up with this message. "itunes requires a newer version of apple mobile device support. Please uninstall both apple mobile device support and itunes and then reinstall itunes." I have done this step 3 times, while following the support steps on how to fully remove all itunes and related programs. I keep getting the same issue.
Also, my computer recognizes my phone but itunes wont. When I try to do a driver update according to the support page it keeps telling me that "The folder specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with windows x64- based systems." On the support page it also suggests trying an alternate folder (program files(x86)/common files/ apple/ mobile device software/ drivers) That doesn't work either.
I am getting extremely frustrated.... Can someone PLEASE help!!!!

Error message "libobjc.i386.A.dll missing." After reviewing similar problems from others users, I uninstalled and then reinstalled iTunes and the problem continues. Any suggestions how to fix the issue?
