(10.4.9 update) Samsung d900

although the samsung (sgh) d900 is on the list of supported phones isync says it's not supported. anybody has an aswer to this one? i'm pretty sure it's not the only phone that is on that list and isync says it's not supported still.
ibook g4   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   none

Since the 10.4.9 update, my computer wakes from sleep
and lets me right into my session, even though I have
the security setting to require a username and
password to leave the screen saver and wake from
sleep.
Hi ReadyAssist,
The setting lives in the file /Users/[your short user name]/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.screensaver.[numbers].plist
For example mine is at
/Users/minus/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.screensaver.0005362d7j84.plist
See first if there are duplicates of that file and if there is no other way out -
Remove this file and re-establish your setting in System Settings (Module Screensaver and Module Security)
Cheers,
Walter

  • How do you update Samsung Apps?

I want to know how do you update pre existing samsung apps on the Galaxy S4??
For instance if at 6:01am and never reboot phone;  I launch S Health after a factory reset and it says 'there is an update to S Health' but I dismiss it....How do I update that app again?
    Its not on Google Play??
So I went to the support page and it says to go to apps.samsung.com on my mobile browser which will install the Samsung App application to my device
Yet after downloading the file it says 'You are about to update a pre existing app; do you wish to install' and I said.....WHOA where is that application on my phone?
I do own a Samsung Note 10.1 Tablet; there is a Samsung App application on the device.
Galaxy S4?? Nope I cant find it...I do have Samsung Hub...but that doesnt load pre existing apps such as S Health
Does anyone else know how to remedy this? Thanks

  • Update Samsung SSD Firmware on Mac

    Hello,
I am a proud owner of MacBook Pro i5 with a Samsung 128 SSD.
Recently, Samsung issued a firmware update. Normally, I'd have to take the SSD out, plug it into a SATA Windows machine, create bootable USB and update the firmware there.
Does anyone know any workaround on how to update SSD firmware on my Mac without having to plug SSD into windows machine? I recently found some blog about creating bootable WinXP CD and install firmware that way. I tried that, but it did not work, as I got some error messages while creating the BootCD and then the SSD updater from Samsung did not work...
I need this firmware because of TRIM support for Win7.
    Thanks in advance,
    Milan

Thanks for your answer, but thats not gonna happen, since the firmware needs to be started from a USB bootable disk. You cannot boot it off of BootCamp partition, since firmware update wipes all data from SSD.

  • How to update Samsung SSD firmware?

This seems like such a simple thing to do, but I'm getting stuck. My computer suddenly stopped talking to my SSD a few weeks ago, and after some help on here I was able to determine it was due to a bad internal SATA cable. But unfortunately, there still appears to be an issue with the SSD: it will eject and remount repeatedly when I connect it in its USB enclosure. I realized the firmware was out of date, and I am hoping that will fix the issue.
But I'm not sure exactly what steps need to be taken. I downloaded the update, an ISO file, and I have burned it do a disc, but the disc won't start the install process. I've read I need to boot from this disc (hold Alt when powering up), but doing this just takes me to recovery mode and I don't know what to do from there. It seems like this whole process would be a lot easier on Windows. Could I just install the update through a Windows computer even though the drive is formatted for my Mac?
    Thanks for your help!

Yes, you can/have to update the firmware on a PC

  • Caching problem on Samsung D900

I developed a midlet to play 3gp video using "chunk technology". It downloads video file part by part and plays them on a mobile phone. It works great on Sony and Nokia. But on Samsung after finishing playing the first part it starts playing it again, not the second part.
Even more. I deleted all chunk files from server's directory but Samsung continue to download these files from nowhere and plays the second part again and again. I tried to clear phone's cache but it did not help.
It's weird and I don't know what to do. Does anybody has any idea what is going on this phone?

    Hi RC2,
Have you tried reverting to an older more reliable Skype 4.0.0.22082 or alternatively Skype 3.2.0.6673, until a satisfactory new version of Skype is released?  This is what I, and many others are doing

  • Updating samsung 840 firmware

SO everyone has said that you cannot update firmware from an external optical bay. This is NOT TRUE for ALL macs. I have an early macbook 2011 and had no problem updating this ssd drive from optical drive. Burned ISO to dvd, put in optical drive, restarted booting from cd drive ("Windows" came up) then followed on screen instructions. SO give it a try at least. See what happens!

    sharinganuser,
everyone has not said that — I, for one, have never said that.

  • Updated: Samsung is patching its Windows Update blunder

Evolution of the BatmobileBat-finned, black, and powered by a single jet engine, the Batmobile is the most iconic vehicle ever to grace our screens. But despite its unique styling, the Dark Knight's ride has seen a utility belt's worth of variations over the years. What started as little more than a standard Cadillac convertible has transformed into a formidable tank, packing a billionaire's ransom in gadgets and firepower. With every version boasting a unique array of weapons, functions, and impracticalities, we're analysing the evolution of Batman's wheels, from its first cinematic appearance back in 1943 to the Batfleck-mobile, set to make its debut in next year's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The Batman (1943)Batman's first cinematic outing wasn't exactly a big budget affair. Sadly, what limited funding there was couldn't...

    Hi Stefan,
Yes, that might be a possible solution, and I have been thinking along those lines myself. The trouble being that I don't have a CD with the correct version of XP (XP Home Edition, Danish) for which the machine is licensed, and here in the middle of the holiday season I have a bit of a problem tracking one down. I even tried calling Microsoft support and Toshiba to see if they would be kind enough to mail me a spare CD. No such luck.
The machine is used by a friend of mine, who has a severe physical disability. It is his main 'communication platform' and he operates it using a single button switch interface. So every additional day of downtime is a bit of a problem. I will probably have to reinstall it for now using the SP 1a base software, then completely disabling the network interface to avoid infections while I look for a XP CD.
The closest I can come to an explanation is that 'something' that Windows Update automatically installs conflicts with the factory supplied software. The problem happens even with a completely freshly recovered setup, so I was hoping this would be a known if perhaps a bit obscure problem.
    Thanks again. :-)
    Frank.

  • Can't explorer inside Samsung D900 by bluetooth

If iI find in the device, it show me directories but not the file inside.... I have a lot of photos, I can view only the directory but not photos inside.
    Anybody have an idea?
    Thanks

Also because they have never supported FTP transfer Bluetooth does that mean you are happy with that (rhetorical).
You may have intended it to be a rhetorical question but I have an answer for you. Yes, I'm perfectly happy with it. I find file transfer over BT to be too slow and require to much effort to be of any practical use. And yes, I have an Android phone. Of course, I researched the specs and limitations of iOS devices before I spent all that money so I knew that an iPad would meet my needs.

  • N97 wont switch on after V20 update!!!!!

I updated my N97 to V20 this eve after waiting a long time to finally get it. For starters I had to get my old PC out the cupboard to be able to do his as if I try and update with Vista 64 there is apparently no update available, works fine with XP though!
So  finally update, everything goes OK on screen an update says its finished successfully. Unfortunately the only life I get from the brick that was once my mobile is a constant vibrate 'feature' with no display and now a quick vibrate when I press the power button.
I've tried a hard reset, no joy! The charge light doesn't even come on when I plug it into the mains charger. And the USB cable gives no joy.
Has anyone else had this problem? And did you find a way of sorting it? Gonna have to send it away and get it sorted, back to a spare Samsung D900 at least it works!
I think this is definitely bye bye Nokia! You are useless!!!

Sounds like a corrupt firmware. Remove your Sim Card try booting it up.. like the previous person said remove the battery for 30 mins.. then try and boot.. if nothing then re-insert the sim if you can finally reboot it then "reinstall the Firmware" if not take it to a nokia care centre to be reinstalled. Just to let you know I had the same problem.. my phone would boot to the "nokia" name but not the hands and it'd stay like that over night if i let it.. I removed the Sim and Memory card several times about 10 in total before i pulled everything out and left the battery out for 30 mins to try and remove any temp caches. Booted it up with the sim out and BOOM it loaded.. then chuckled my **bleep** off when i HAD to turn the phone off to put my sim back in.. dun dun dun!!! Wont boot back up -.- so figured corrupt firmware left the battery out again and then put my sim back in to boot it up reloaded it and then reinstalled that damn firmware!

  • Things I would like to know before updating to KitKat

    Hi everyone,
Am new to Sony and am delaying doing the update via PCC or SUS until the bugs I have read about are sorted.  Meanwhile i have a couple of questions which I cannot find answers to.
How do I get rid of the notification I have on my phone telling me 14.3.A.0.681 is waiting? selecting 'clear' does not work.
I read about the upcoming fixes due shortly but does that mean I will need to go ahead and install the 'buggy' 14.3.A.0.681 beforehand OR will a complete new KitKat be available to replace Jellybean?
Have noted alexdon's advice of things to be aware of before updating but should the phone be on or off?
Presumably MTP needs to be activated and USB debugging on?
Generally is it wise to do a factory reset after FW update?
Sorry to ask so many questions but updating Samsung Galaxy via Kies was never straightforward so want to be prepared this time and hopefully any responses will help others too.  Thank you
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You cannot get rid of the notification until you update,if you clear data for update centre it will come back.
It seems that you can wait for the next update without installing this one,but I am not sure if it will work fine when you update.
The phone must be turned on for PC companion(I updated to kitkat about 4 days ago and it needed the phone on).Sony update service needs the phone turned off because it first checks for the firmware version.
You need to have MTP enabled.
About the factory reset,it is not necessarily.I have not done factory resets and I do not encounter big problems with the KK(only the loudpeaker-earspeaker thing).Even before,on my Xperia P,I have not reseted to factory settings after each update.

  • Wifi connection issues after update

I recently was prompted to update my S4 and after it has been completed, I have issues with the phone recognizing and connecting to known routers that I use every day.  I have the Wifi on all of the time and the two main routers that I connect to are at work and at home.  If I leave my house, and go to work, my phone shows that it recognizes my work router, but does not automatically connect to it.  The same scenario happens when I walk into my house; the phone recognizes the router, but won't automatically connect to it like it used to do.  The only way that I have found that my phone will connect to both of these places is if I toggle the "wifi on/off" switch.  Does anyone know how to make my phone automatically recognize and connect to known routers again?

And verizon is absolutely correct. Verizon provides cellular and data services and coverage for a monthly price.
Samsung is the maker of the devices and the operating system is done by Samsung/Google and then submitted to Verizon to eventually push out to their customers. Verizon is not responsible for a bad operating system update, Samsung is.
Like Apple devices, I personally applaud Apple for doing their own updates without Verizon it makes it easier to push out patches or fixes much quicker.
All phone manufacturers should be doing this so to have the carrier not get blamed for something beyond their control.
You wifi patch will come from Samsung.
Car analogy is not even valid in you Ford issue. The driver is responsible since they are the driver of the car.
Verizon is the car, Samsung is the motor that makes it run. Car won't run without a motor.
    Good Luck

  • New to Pre. Some issues! (ringtone, transfers etc)

    Greetings everyone,
I had a Samsung D900 for 2 years and just upgraded to Pre (O2-UK). To my horror I realised I cannot transfer my contacts via bluetooth!! How crazy is that Palm??! so I copied my contact numbers to my sim card which only holds 250, that is short of 100 on my phone memory!
    I do not have Outlook
I do not have google acc or MS exchange
I do not want to cough up more money to buy another software
1-What is my best bet of transferring my old contacts to Pre. Also some of my precious old texts? (i'm not fussy about  constant sync)
2-How can I copy the contacts from sim to Pre?
3-I updated my Pre software last night. I cannot listen to any of the sample ringstones!!! so i have to keep calling myself from another phone to hear the **bleep** thing! Anyone has the same issue?
Please note that I am not an idiot and am electronic engineer myself but I think Palm has failed to get some of the basics absolutly  covered before pimping up the other fancy stuff here. It gives me a mixed and confused feeling. From one hand I like it and wanted something other than iPhone since everyone got one! On the other hand, some basic things are such a pain! Why on earth putting bluetooth when you cannot take a full advantage of it?!! Madness!
Many thanks in advance to whoever that can help me resolve my issues.
    Cheers
    B

I have the same issue. Apparently you can only "copy" 1 contact at a time but u have to edit it before copy it. How retarded is that?

  • ISync wants to overwrite my computer's address book

Yes, I've looked, and I skimmed the architecture article (I'm no code geek), but all I can say is that I want the G4 to PUSH and the phone to PULL, and I don't know how to set that. The computer should be the master and the phone the servant.
I deleted my contacts from the phone (Samsung d900) with a view to replacing them with my newly updated, spiffy set on the computer. However, now when I try to sync it warns me I will be deleting 53 entries and adding 2; I think the 2 are the 411 and 611 or something.
I have cancelled it when it's tried to do this, but nonetheless, now I have an empty phone book, which kind of limits the phone's usefulness...
    Any help appreciated. TIA.

Well, your view of how the synchronization framework ought to operate—in a master/servant mode—is not how it is designed. Essentially, all framework clients are co-equal participants, pushing changes to and pulling changes from a repository referred to as the truth database.
When you delete the contacts from one client, the intended outcome is to perform equivalent deletions from other clients. To avoid this outcome, you must, as Julian suggests, reset your synchronization history. That procedure leaves your clients registered and your data intact, but empties the truth database and forces a first-time, slow synchronization event the next time you initiate one. In your case, that means there are no deleted records to push from your mobile handset - only additions from all clients to populate your now empty truth database.
To reset your synchronization history, launch iSync, open the Preferences… dialog, press the Reset Sync History… button and follow the instructions which appear. I too strongly suggest that before you do so, that you use the option labeled Back up Address Book… under the File menu in the Address Book application to back up your contact database.
