10.4.11 ARD to a 10.5 share: The status of my computers says offline. Even though I click on control and it connects me, I can't do any task because the response is the computer is offline and it fails as the post in history shows.
I see their screen and can operate on their computer manually but not task in the menus like upgrade s/w or transfer files etc. Can't drag files from my screen into theirs for a copy either.
10.4 to 10.4 ARD Works fine!

It appears my problem has been solved (for me at least). Discovered by researching another TechNet posting
Listed below are the changes made. I doubt that all were required but then again the Big Bang solutions always seem to work when dealing with Microsoft operating systems, yes?

Test:
1. Reboot Windows 7
2. Reboot Linux server
3. Open Linux Network Browser application (Thunar)
4. Navigate through the Windows 7 shares without having to enter login/password: Success!

Uploading YouTube videos/urls into Cisco Show and Share

We've just purchased the DMM 5.2 and the Show and Share appliance to host internal company videos but there are some YouTube videos out there that we want to pull into our Show and Share system as well. How can we do this? I've tried every possible combination of youtube url and embedded url that is out there, at least nothing that I've tried has worked thus far. I'm able to pull in other internal URLs of different videos (wmv format) without any trouble. Is this an issue with YouTube or perhaps with flv formatted video that YouTube uses (which should work according to the manual).
I know this is a new product, but is there anyone that can help?

The YouTube videos are typically Flash content.
The key here is that you need to download the Flash content
yourself and then Upload to the Show and Share.
Use the DIRECT URL of the Flash Content on YouTube to download
the FLV to you Personal device. After file successfully download, simply
upload the file to Show and Share.

Can two programs share a task?

I have a program that continously writes to a PCI-6711 card for analog output. Well, i periodically poll the card to know when there is enough buffer space to write more data. Unfortunately, this seems to take more cpu than i would like, therefore, i have looked into making an activeX object to run in it's own process space to do the polling for me and raise an event when it is time to write more data. Unfortunately, when i pass the task number to the ActiveX object all i ever get is the DAQmx error 200088, which i believe says that it is an invalid task. Is it possible to share a task between two different programs? I have heard that you can configure a task with Measurement studio and then call LoadTask or something like that, but i was hoping to do this all via code.

First you can share Task List from Mac Reminder app or from icloud.com (Reminders app) (needs to login under your apple id).
Then you should login to icloud.com under apple id of acceptor for accepting inviting of your Task List.

Problem with share calendar/tasks/notes on outlook 2010

The problem I have is with outlook 2010 and 2007 that connect to Exchange 2013 ( The problem happening outside the domain)
When I am trying to share calendar/tasks/contacts I get this massage " Error while preparing to send sharing message"
After testing it's a lot I have figured out that the problem is with the some updates.
I found when I removed some updates I can share everything without any problem.
The updates I removed are:

And Office 2010 Service Pack 2
There is any Hotfix/Solution to fix this problem without uninstalled this updates?

Do other features in Outlook work well? Like viewing free/busy information or opening other’s folder that shared to you? Receive/send messages? Access OOF? Please check these.
Please run Test Email AutoConfiguration to check your autodiscover service and Exchange web service. If all configured properly, we can create a new Outlook profile to have a try.

Firefox won't stop running unless I go into task manager and end process

when I shut down firefox and then later try to start it again a box comes up that says it is already running but it won't come on. So I have to go into my task manager and end the process before I can start it again. How do I solve this problem?

That is "hanging at exit". You can ignore the first part, since you already know how to do that.

When I close a .pdf file in Adobe Reader the program continues to run on the CPU until I go into the Task Manager and End Task.
I am running Windows 8 with Adobe Reader Ver 11.0.07, I have uninstalled the reader and reinstalled also checked for updates and ask the program to check the installation, which it did with no change I still have the problem ?.

Please check the performance by disabling the 'Protected mode' in Reader.
Edit > Preferences > Security (Enhanced) > Enable Protected Mode at startup
Uncheck this option. Click on Ok.
Close and launch Reader and check.

Unable to Share Outlook Task Folder

I am able to share my task folder with one other office worker. But three others I've tried cannot accept the sharing offer. The button in the sharing message to open/accept the share is grayed out for them. After I send the offer, I can see these individual
listed in the Properties-->Permissions tab and confirm they have been given at least Read permissions. I've also made sure that I've only shared the task folder with one individual at a time in case the folder can only be shared with one person at a time
(althought that doesn't sound like a reasonable constraint to enforce).
We all have the same setup: Windows 7, Office 2010, using Microsoft Exchange Server. At least one of the three individuals was able to share their task folder with me.
This question was first posted to Outlook.com and was advised to move it to Office.
Moved post to Office and advised to move it to ExchangesrvClients.

Open Outlook -> Tasks -> Folder -> Open Shared Tasks

Not unless it goes back online. If it was stolen it may have been restored, in which case it will never appear again in Find My iPhone.

Is it possible to upload video clips into Creative Cloud, then share or collaborate?

I can upload photos, but when trying to upload video to the CreativeCloud into a folder, they all show up as single .jpg of a random frame. Does Cloud allow video collaboration TIA

Even though you cannot play a video file uploaded to a Creative Cloud folder, you should be able to share that folder with other CC users either via the Collaboration or the Share Link features. More info here: Creative Cloud Help | Collaborate by sharing folders.

One iTunes account into two via home share

My wife and I have been sharing one iTunes account for years. We now have two iMac and so I'd like to separate into two accounts by retaining my original account on my imac and creating a new itunes account on her iMac. Her iMac is the one with the original account. Her ipod is tied to that computer and my account but I'd like her ipod tied to the new account so she can start making purchases that do not show up under my account and on my imac/ipad.
I understand that this process is not possible since apps and songs are liscensed under one user. However, I can easily redownload the apps my wife uses (15 or so, most of which are free). It's the iTunes store bought music I am unclear about.
I've done a bit of researching and have come to an idea that may work but I'd like feedback from those more in the know than I.
So, I'd like to run this process by all of you out there and ask if this sounds right.
My imac is all set with my account.
Wifes iMac: (Core i7, 10.6.8, current iTunes)
- Set-up wife's iMac with a new itunes account.
- Turn on that account in iTunes (authorize to computer to this new account)
- Home Sharing is on (purchased music on her computer under my account but not on my computer... I don't listen to Amy Winehouse)
- Connect her ipod (Touch gen 2) to her iMac and update as new account.
-this may delete all songs on her ipod but with home sharing can I just reload the music from the itunes library?
-Will I be able to load the store purchased music that resides on her imac onto her ipod touch with the new account on it?
- Or will she have to "authorize" each and every song as the ipod plays them???
– Redownload wifes previous free apps (downloaded under my name) under her new account.
The end result is I'd like any new purchases of songs or apps to be under her new account but still retain the music she purchased under my account on her ipod. Thus she can purchase on the device and it will update in itunes on iMac.
Does this make sense? Will this work?

I just got zapped by this crazy conundrum yesterday. I bought a used ipad1 thru EBay, for my son. He doesn't have home Internet or an up to date Mac so I set it up for him on my computer, unaware of the 90-day lockout rule. He owns a lot of iTunes downloads and I thought input would be faster to do it wired to my computer rather than via wireless direct onto his iPad, so I logged out of my account and into his. When I was done downloading his stuff I logged out of his account and got the 90-day lockout notice when I logged back into my account!
Thanks to all the posters here and other similar threads I learned what had happened, but until I got to this thread I thought I was locked out of ALL downloads, including new purchases. Thanks for the info about it just being for re-downloads. Fortunately, I am obsessive about backing up all new purchases in a master iTunes file. It just seems kinda stupid. What is the point in locking me out of things I already own? Anyway, thanks for the help!
Just tested on my computer and was indeed able to download a new album from iTunes on my account.
As far as sharing between devices is concerned, I have separate iTunes folders for each of 4 iOS devices I use, and simply use the "Add to library" feature in iTunes to copy anything I need to from one device's folder to the other. Works well.

How can I turn a iPhoto slide show into a DVD to share with friends?

First time I have used this forum. Also, am new to Mac.
I went to a lot of trouble creating an iPhoto slideshow thinking I could make a DVD to mail to friends. I could do this easily on a PC with Adobe Photoshop.

Set the aspect ratio of the iPhoto slideshow to 4:3 for iDVD. Export the slideshow to your Movies folder via the Export button at the bottom.
Select Medium or Large as the size.
Open iDVD, selecdt a theme and drag the QT movie file of the slideshow into the iDVD menu's window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Follow this workflow to help ensure the best quality video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it. If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

I am trying to install apple remote desktop 3.3. But I am unable to select HD as the installation drive. Receive message "Remote Desktop can't be installed on this disk. This software requires Mac OS X version 10.6" In fact, I am running 10.7.3. In there a way around this?

It's been covered here several times, but again:
• Insert your ARD CD
• Open in Finder
• Right click on the Remote Desktop.mpkg and show contents
• Navigate to contents/installers
• Drag the RemoteDesktopAdmin.pkg file onto the workstation and install
• Run Software Update
• Upgrade to the latest version of the admin application
