Need to get rid of bar across top saying plug-ins are not up-to-date. The "fix" posted for Windows does not work on my Mac. When I try for updates, none seem to install. How do I really find out if the ones I have are the latest available for my system? Everything seems to work OK as is. Could it be that my Mac is PPC and that there are plug-in updates that would work in 10.4 on Intel but not on PPC, and that FireFox cannot differentiate?

Setting the Boolean pref plugins.hide_infobar_for_outdated_plugin to true on the about:config page should hide that info bar.

Close Photoshop first, then:
Download the 8.5 manual update link from here: Don't run the installer, but instead just Open the zip file in Windows Explorer.

Navigate inside the zip file to find the resources inside that correspond to the 64 or 32 bit Photoshop version that you're running. I assume you have installed the 64 bit version, so the rest of the instructions will concentrate on the 64 bit Camera Raw.8bi only. Here's the path:

The file within Assets1_1.zip, named 1002, is actually the Camera Raw.8bi file for 64 bits, just with a different name.
Copy 1002 to your folder on your computer where your Camera Raw.8bi normally lives, e.g.,
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC\File Formats
Rename the old Camera Raw.8bi file to Camera Raw.8bi_8.0. It's important that the extension is changed to something other than .8bi.
Rename 1002 to Camera Raw.8bi

Has anyone been able to contact Adobe to learn why their Flash Player does not work on Mac OS 10.6.8, no matter how many updates you install? This seems like a big error by Adobe.

I have thee Mac computers with Mac OS 10.6.8, one of which is a Mac Pro. No matter how many updates I install from Adobe, their Flash Player does not work on any of these 3 computers. I don't know how to contact Adobe Systems about this problem, but I think it is their responsibility to make sure that their so-called "universal" software works proplerly on a relatively recent operating system like OS 10.6.8 that is still in widespread use. When you install the updates, nothing happens -- not even an error message. What is the point of a universal player that is not universal? If it still won't install, do these two things: First uninstall any Flash by going into the second level Hard Drive Library>Internet Plug-ins, and trash the Flash Player.plugin and flashplayer.xpt. Then boot into Safe Boot, Shift at the startup chime (give it much longer than a usual boot) and run the installer while booted in Safe Boot.

Hi wskossack, I am sorry to hear that you are having problems with Firefox 36. I am also sorry that we have not been able to get that working for you yet.
If what you really want is to uninstall Firefox we can do that. Of course I have to ask if you would be willing to let my help you to get the most up to date version of Firefox working. But, Firefox is all about the ability to customize. If you want we can install the last version of Firefox and you can use that until the next version comes out or while we work to get Firefox 36 working for you. I will try to cover every option in my reply.
First I will cover uninstalling Firefox. If you want to look at the [[Uninstall Firefox from your computer|article click here]] this can be done in about 7 steps
I would recommend that you completely uninstall Firefox and install it again. This will most likely fix any problems you have right now. Because you are asking how to do this I am going to assume that you have not tried this.
If you have Vista or Windows 7:
1) close any open Firefox windows.
2) from the start menu click on control panel
3) click on uninstall a program
4) from this list chose Firefox
5) click on uninstall (this is located turds the top)
If the Uninstall Wizard does not run, you can start it manually by running helper.exe, which is located in one of these locations by default:
(32-bit Windows) C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\uninstall\helper.exe
(64-bit Windows) C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\uninstall\helper.exe
6) in the Firefox uninstall wizard click next and on the next page click uninstall then click finish
7) to remove other files and folders that may not be removed by the uninstall, you must manually delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations by default:

(64-bit Windows) C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
The uninstaller does not remove any user data such as history or bookmarks. To completely remove this data, you must manually delete the Firefox folder containing your user profile:

Migrating V9 to V10: Update XML Fragment CLOB does not work anymore

I have an XML Schema that contains an element, named Operazione, mapped to a CLOB.
I just migrate to Oracle 10.1.0.2.0 from version 9.2.0.2.0 and the code I developed does not work anymore.
To get a CLOB on v 9.2.0.2.0 I issued the following statement:
select extractValue(value(p),'/operazione.log/Operazione') from XMT_OPERAZIONE_LOG p
where existsNode(value(p),'/operazione.log/Journal[NumeroElettronico=1234567890]') = 1
To make it working on V10 I have to change it as follow:
select extract(value(p),'/operazione.log/Operazione').getClobVal() from XMT_OPERAZIONE_LOG p
where existsNode(value(p),'/operazione.log/Journal[NumeroElettronico=1234567890]') = 1
So using extract intead of extractValue and adding getClobVal() I was able to read the CLOB.
The problem that I was not able to solve is related to CLOB update. In V9 just adding the âfor updateâ clause I was able to change the CLOB value on DB.
In V10 if I run the V9 statement I get the error:
ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
If I use the statement modified for V10, adding the âfor updateâ clause, I get the CLOB and I can change the CLOB value but nothing goes on the DB. Probably I am working on a copy of the DB CLOB.
If I remove the getClobVal() I get an OPAQUE type that I can use on a XMLType but, still, nothing is stored on DB.
Any suggestion ?

Let me replicate:
Shift-Command-A (on the Desktop, (but how to get there?) to open Apps, e.g System Preferences;
Arrow keys to navigate within Apps;
Command-down arrow to open a specific app;
Arrows to move around, e.g. to Magic Mouse
Space to open Magic Mouse;
Tab to move between options and arrows to change these; and Tab back to the back icon.

Changed his profile email to mine and tried to update pw it could not answer a security code. Creted new accounts, changed pws yet still asking for his work email pw which no longer works
