10.4 SERVER - CERTIFICATE **** !! Please HELP....

So I have had this machine in production for quite sometime now. Yesterday my certificate expired, so I attempted to renew it through Thawte. I basically did a re-issue with the exact same information for the old certificate, but every time I try to "Add Signed Certificate" (The file I receive back from Thawte after issuing the "Request Signed Certificate From CA..." I get an "Error while writing settings (-1)" the really STUPID thing, is that the certificate which Thawte issued to me, shows up in Keychain, alongside the one that is still "Self Signed"........
Can ANYONE help me with this issue, it is driving me insane and of course my domain is now unsigned which isn't a good thing to have for a production server.
Look forward to any responses out there. I have tried from scratch as well, but there is something that is persisting from the old certificate that is not happy and I am unable to track that down.....

I think 10.4 only produces 1024bit keys..
My habit is that I create all keys on a 10.6 server, generate the CSR from that machine, get it signed, then import the combo into whatever server I need it for (10.4 through 10.8)
Do you have a 10.5+ server? if so, why not create a new key/csr and get it signed.
Then import in your 10.4 server.

- Powering off and then back on your router.
- iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
- Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
Public DNS — Google Developers
OpenDNS IP Addresses
- For one user uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes resolved the problem
- Try on another computer/network
- Wait if it is an Apple problem

What is it you are trying to do? Restore an iCloud backup? Back up to iCloud?

Try the following:
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
- Power off and then on your router.
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections

I ruined my ipad by doing this and now I am seing something saying that ipad could not be activated because it couldn't reach the activation server. Please somebody help save my poor little Ipad . request.getParameter("name").equals("")You are using this in your 'if' statement. But if a parameter by the name "name" is not found, it would return a null reference and calling equals() would call a NullPointerException.
I observed that you are already assigning those parameters to Strings. You should add null checking for each of them. :)

OS X Server. Please help me. I feel like crying.

Hello.
I am so tired of this. My Mac mini server is acting up again. There were over 80 user accounts that seemed like they should be hidden that appeared in the Server app. I deleted them. Then over 110 groups appeared in the server app appeared. I deleted three of those. Open Directory isn't working. Authentication is acting up. It won't let me connect remotely to the server from other Macs using my main user account on the server. I looked on my user accoount on the server, and whenever I try to give myself permission to administer the server, the Server App just freezes. Please help me. I am so tired of this.
ANY HELP, ANY AT ALL WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

Without any more details regarding which accounts you deleted (I don't want to appear harsh as you are asking for help) it's possible you may have shot yourself in the foot?
There are a large number of (UNIX) accounts you should not be deleting that are essential to the proper working order, not only of the server but, more fundamentally, of the OS itself. Ordinarily you won't see these accounts although a situation may sometimes arise where you (or some other mechanism) may have inadvertently and/or unknown to you, selected an option that shows you those hidden accounts in the Server.app GUI.
Apart from the Server.app you'd normally use Terminal or Directory Editor (available in the Directory Utility app stored in /System/Library/CoreServices) to see hidden accounts. I usually use the command line utility 'dscl' to view users (hidden or visible) in OS X. Below is the output of pretty much any OS X (server or otherwise) going back to at least 10.2:

If you've deleted all of the the users and/or groups beginning with underscore then you've truly shot yourself in the foot and unless you really know what you're doing it may be quicker if you simply reinstalled the OS? Possibly even format and install? If you've deleted some of these user/groups then it's likely you will start seeing random and intractable behaviour with either the OS, Server.app or both. In either case it's not surprising you feel like crying.
There are a number of 'golden' rules you should be aware of that are crucial to the proper working order of OS X Server. In no particular order these are:
1. before doing anything else configure DNS services properly
2. try and understand the UNIX underpinnings of OS X
3. avoid using .local (mDNS) as the basis for your internal/private domain
4. unless you really know what you're doing try not to fiddle
5. DNS
6. backup as often as possible
7. DNS
8. have as many backups as you can afford
You'll notice DNS is mentioned a number of times because it really is very important. The above is not definitive in any way.

I am trying to create a web project in Eclipse WTP europa. I do not have the bea weblogic server installed on my desktop. My organization has issues running it locally. I need to first create a project and then create a war and then deploy it on server.
I am going through the tutorial at the following website:

It says "To do this tutorial you will need a server runtime that is supported by WTP"
Also "During web application development, we will need a server runtime environment to test, debug and run our project".
Hence I need the link where I can download the server runtime for bea weblogic server.
I have tried to download the tomcat runtime from the following location:

But tomcat is not accepting it as a server runtime, pls help...

Connecting to my local server? Please Help

Hello,
I have Wamp setup on my computer to test some database work I
am doing.
I have been able to connect to databases on my hosting
service but need to do some local testing.
Through many post on WAMP forum I have had no luck in finding
out why I can not connect to my server though Dreamweaver to my
database.
I follow all the instructions I think but I must be missing
something.
Config:
I do have Mcfee (bummer I know) with firewall but it says it
give full access to WAMP. I have even disabled it and tried.
I do not have Skype or IIS running or installed.
I only have apache installed once as far as I can tell.
I have password and name "root" setup.
I have databases built in my www folder.
All services are running in WAMP.
I try to connect though the normal Dreamweaver way.

I input:
Connection name: DBCart

Password: mypassword
Hit the select button and get:
1)There is no testing server running
2) The testing server specified for this site does not map to

URL.
Verify that the URL Prefix maps to the root of the site.

Ah Ha,
I figured it out.
I checked the Apache error log and saw that it was looking
for _mmServerScripts.
The file for my site was to deep in the www directory (to
many sub files). I moved it up so that apache could find the
_mmServerScripts and bingo I am golden.
I hope this helps anyone who runs into a similar problem.

9i's Oracle Universal Installer problem in W2K server! Please Help.

I am trying to install Oracle database 9i on my w2k server (domain controller). The Oracle Universal Installer quits right after I choose install in autorun menu with this message:
'Error in writing to directory C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\OraInstall. Please ensure that this directory is writable and has at least 25 MB of Disk Space. Installation could not continue.'
I am installing as the administrator of the domain/server and I have 17GB left on my harddisk. I am using a P3 600 with 384 MB of RAM. My HD is Seagate ATAIV Baracuda and my motherboard uses VIA chipset.

I am using Diamond TNT2 video card. I have tried to install new (not newest) detonator drive and VIA 4 in 1 driver ver4.29 but it still gives me the error. Would it help if I install Java2 runtime on this computer?

8i Management Server Problem, Please Help???

My Company has a plan to implement Oracle 8i Enterprise Server, so that I downloaded it from internet and installed in Windows NT. Everything work fine, I cound access database through DBA Studio, SQLPLUS etc. But I encoutered problem while using Management Server, Everytime when I start the service, it could successfully started, after 2 second, it automatically stop again.
I have searched through the Windows 2000 Event Viewer, it display the following error:
The service has terminated abnormally. See the file E:\Oracle\Ora81\sysman\log\OMS.log for details. (Event ID: 112)
However, I could never find out he file OMS.log in the specified path.
Could anybody be so kind to help me solve the problem??
