10.5.1 Email Alarms Still Don't Work. (?)

I attempted to add an email alarm to a calendar event.
I recieved a pop-up that told me to add my own email to the Address Book. It then opened up my A.B. I already had my data in A.B. I try to chose it, but get nowhere.
HELP! Am I missing something?

I had exactly the same experience. I kept adding test events to see if it would send the email. The first event triggered Mail but nothing showed, nothing was sent. The second event triggered Mail again but now I had the outbox showiing with both reminder messages in there. I was able to manually send them and they went through. I do have the 10.5.1 update. How do we fix this?

Ok, an update. I just tried another test event but this time I had ical and mail on. At the proper time mail was triggered and I heard the sending mail sound and actually got the email reminder in my inbox. So it looks like either mail, ical or both have to be active to make this work correctly.

Blackberry app world asking for username & password, but after many tries still don't work

when I wanted to go to my app world it asked me for my blackberry id username and password, well this I know, I typed in the username it said type in "emai", and I typed in the email address I always use, and the password, but still not working, all that it keeps saying is "type in the username associated with this device" well it seems the password then is correct, but why is it complaining about the username-email address I've always used the same email address, I checked spelling everything, but still don't want to work, it only gives you 10 try's and after 10 its blocks the appworld, and then it waits 15min then you can try again, but I have tried everything now, but still don't work, I have reset password, changed password, but it does not seem that the problem is with the password, but with the Blackberry Id-username-emaila I have to use, and I have no other email that I used before, just this one always, can anyone tell me what I can do...that my appworld can work again please.

I have unlocked my iPhone 3G with Vodafone via iTunes, but now the downloaded apps crash immediately when opened. I've tried a Restore, but this didn't help. I've also tried removing all apps and re-installing them, but they still don't work. Any ideas?

yep, unfortunately can't reset without the passcode either.
With regards to doing a restore, do you mean:
open itunes on my computer
click on my device on the left
go to the device summary
click restore
it then asks if i want to back up before i restore (to which i say no)
then it asks me if i'm sure I want to restore to factory settings and that all of me media and data will be erased and replaced with the newest version ( to which I say yes)
then it takes about 90 mins to do this but when I look at my phone, everything is exactly the same.
Am I missing something? Obviously I'm technologically challenged, but I HAVE to get to the bottom of this!

License installed: Memleak & JRA Recording still don't work on remote srv

This a JRockit 28.1.1 version on a remote server.
As noted, a "LIC-JRMC50" license has been installed into its jre, but the memory leak and jra recording functions from the local xp based Mission Control 3.0.5 still don't work.
The connector to the remote server is working, as I can open console and see its workings.
When attempting to start Memory Leak an error is shown:
Caused by: javax.management.InstanceNotFoundException: bea.jrockit.management:type=MemLeak
at com.sun.jmx.interceptor.DefaultMBeanServerInterceptor.getMBean(DefaultMBeanServerInterceptor.java:1094)
When trying to start JRA Recording a message is shown that says something like "No Options could be retrieved for this connector. Make sure you're connected to a Jrockit instance..".
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

JRockit 28.1.1 should work better with Mission Control 4.0.1 (which should be bundled together with JRockit R28.1.1)
JRockit 27 versions use JRA, JRockit 28 versions use FlightRecorder instead.
Mission Control 4.0.1 requires not license file.

[SLVD?]Openoffice fonts have bad spacing, hair spaces still don't work

Compare the first pic of Times New Roman in Openoffice, with the second pic in mousepad. (They are both size 12, I have no clue why the Openoffice one is smaller than the mousepad one.)
The spacing between the letters in the Openoffice version looks funny for some reason. You can really see the difference at the "as I cannot" and "example".
Why are the Openoffice fonts like this? Is there any way to make them normal? I have tried using other fonts, but Liberation and DejaVu also exhibit the same behaviour.
EDIT: Also, hair spaces don't work in Openoffice.
EDIT2: I realized that Openoffice was at an 83% view, and at 100% view it looks better.
Hair spaces still don't work though.

Some fonts don't support hair spaces. I have only checked a few fonts, but so far none of the MS fonts contain the hair space, U+200A. Times New Roman, Courier New and Arial don't have that glyph.

Cannot update itunes10.6.3. I get no errors. I repaired all of the apple programs and it still don't work. Acts like it wants to start but doesn't. Thanks in advance

Initially I received the usual message to update. I replied to it but it did not respond. I then tried to manually update through iTunes and it did nothing. Only reaction I get is that the cursor "flutters" for a second and than tries to go to the store for maybe a second and than nothing else happens.
With that one, try updating using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) downloaded from the Apple website:

X4150 disk lights.. still don't work

Last night we upgraded from ELOM to ILOM. Thank god everything went okay, I was very afraid of it. Love the new power distribution/usage feature.
One of the things we were hoping to get fixed with these firmware upgrades is the HDD lights. They still don't work. Is there a specific kernel patch that is needed for them to work? They've never worked from day 0, when we bought the system back in 2008.

Looks like I might need to upgrade the firmware on the disk backplane as well as newer HBA controller firmware.
I found the backplane firmware tools&drivers ISO, but where can I get the LSI 1068E firmware? This is on Solaris. I guess I will need to build a OpenSolaris USB boot and upgrade through raidctl from there.

Kensington, Deja Vu, Typeit4me still don't work, even w/ 10.4.5

The update seems to have gone smoothly, but the software for my Kensington trackball, the back-up Deja Vu sofware, and Typeit4me all still don't work.
Oh well.

Even when all other apps are running I have no menu bar icons. The big problem is the system prefs don't respond to me wanting to show them in menu bar. I can click the box to show them, close the window, and then when I go back into the pref pane the box is unchecked.

My back/forward buttons don't work - have done 'reset toolbars and controls', but they still don't work

When I downloaded the latest version I got a new screen with the orange Firefox tab at the top. That was fine, I could find what I wanted, but back/forward buttons didn't work. I checked the help section and went right through the suggestions down to 'reset toolbars and controls' - this did reset and I lost the orange box - that doesn't matter, but the back/forward buttons still don't work.

Do you have more than one tab open? If you didn't go to another site in a single tab, then yes, the buttons will be greyed out. If you went somewhere in another tab, then those sites should be accessible by right clicking either button.

I can sign into iCloud but can't remember the answers to my security questions and the link for a password reset it my old work email and I don't work there any more and don't want to contact them!! Help.

Want to change me password for my Apple ID on I cloud. I am doing this on my Mac but going into I cloud on Safari. I can sign in ok, but when I go to password change, it wants me to answer 2 security questions, I don't know the answers to these. Then it says if I don't know the answers, it will send me a link to and email address. I'm having the exact same issue where the songs appear but will not play. There is the red circle and square. I have reset and restored the iPhone 5 to no avail and is making the phone useless for playing music, podcasts or audio books. I am now having to carry an iPod around again to listen to my audio content.

Bug: Copy and Paste shortcuts still don't work

Copy and Paste shortcuts still don't function. I have to manually go to the menu to copy and paste. Is this being addressed? This is a basic function used often.

Moved from 104.11 to 10.5.2 php email feedback forms don't work now

Just moved from 10.4.11 to 10.5.2 with default Apache2 and PHP versions as provided by the 10.5 Server installer.
We have a simple web site, static pages, integrated filemaker content, and a couple of php scripts.
Our simple slideshow scripts work fine. Our feedback scripts do not.
User fills in the form and hits send which is set to post the field content to the php script with in turn sends an email to the appropriate address and then calls a "thank you for your submission" page. Until this OS change the browser never does anything other than what is described above. With the OS change the browser now looks like it is trying to load the script page and then gives this error:
"Safari can’t open the page “http://www.wetzelandson.com/feedback.php” because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection, which sometimes occurs when the server is busy. You might be able to open the page later."
The script runs some checks for empty fields, incomplete email address and verify that a mail server is on the domain for the users email address. The script works, diverting to error pages as needed, until the user puts in a complete email address at which point it stalls, shows that the browser is trying to load the php script and shows the message.

Figured it out.
I guess something about the new php in 10.5.2 does not like the verification of an mx server at the domain of the users email

Reset SMC but Screen Brightness Keys still don't work

hi all.
i noticed after squinting at the screen all day yesterday that my screen brightness keys F1 and F2 on my mac pro keyboard are not working.
first thing i did was look in the UI for some kind of manual setting like for the Sound and i was not able to find one so the screen is still a bit dark for my needs.
then i /unchecked/ the "Use Function Keys as..." box in the Settings in case something was screwed up or changed there.
then i reset the SMC controller which i basically did by default (as i understand it) by shutting down the computer and unplugging it overnight during a thunderstorm.
now i am back at trying to solve this and i am wondering if i should reset the PRAM which i guess i will do but i don't want to have to bother with resetting all the settings on this if i don't have to.
any ideas on what may be going on? i have a 23" cinema display and a Mac Pro 1,1.

Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
Summary
In some situations, you may need to reset your computer's SMC. Learn how to identify these conditions and reset the SMC.

Note: It is possible that the SMC could encounter an issue that may cause unusual system behavior typically related to the symptoms described below. In some cases, resetting the SMC may be the only correct method to resolve the issue, however, an SMC reset should only be attempted after all other standard troubleshooting has been performed.
Before Resetting the SMC
Try each of the following steps in this order before you reset the SMC. Test the issue after completing each troubleshooting step to determine if the issue still occurs.
Press Command + Option + Escape to force quit any application that is not responding.
Put your Mac to sleep by choosing the Apple () menu from the upper-left menu bar and then choosing Sleep. Wake the computer after it has gone to sleep.
Restart your Mac by by choosing the Apple () menu from the upper-left menu bar and then choosing Restart.
Shut down your Mac by by choosing the Apple () menu from the upper-left menu bar and then choosing Shut Down.
If your Mac appears to be running normally but isn't responding, force the computer to shut down by pressing and holding the power button for 10 seconds. Note: You will lose any unsaved work in any open applications. For Mac portables experiencing issues related to the MagSafe power adapter and/or battery, try:
Unplug the MagSafe power adapter from the Mac and the wall power socket for several seconds.
Shutdown the Mac. Physically remove and re-insert the battery (if it's removable) and startup the Mac.

Fans
The computer's fans run at high speed although the computer is not experiencing heavy usage and is properly ventilated.

The Status Indicator Light (SIL) appears to behave incorrectly (on Mac computers that have an SIL).
Battery indicator lights, if present, appear to behave incorrectly (on portables that use non-removable batteries).
The display backlight doesn't respond correctly to ambient light changes on Mac computers that have this feature.
Power
The computer doesn't respond to the power button when pressed.
A portable Mac doesn't appear to respond properly when you close or open the lid.
The computer sleeps or shuts down unexpectedly.
The battery does not appear to be charging properly.
The MagSafe power adaptor LED doesn't appear to indicate the correct activity.
System Performance
The computer is running unusually slowly although it is not experiencing abnormally high CPU utilization.
Video
A computer that supports target display mode does not switch into or out of target display mode as expected.

HT2736 A friend gifted me something, but it NEVER arrived, he tried resending the mail 3 times, then tried with a different email, and still didn't work. WHAT!?

A friend gifted me the new single Super Collider, but I never got any e-mail or message at all. He paid for it, got charged to his credit card, and I received nothing. He tried sending it multiple times, without success, then he tried with a different email account of mine, which didn't work as well. We're both seriously ****** about this, but before ragin out in flames, is there any way to solve this?
Facts:
We have the same country store on iTunes.
Both my emails have an associated iTunes account (both same country as his)
I checked my mail everywhere I could, no spam folder, no trash folder, no main folder, nothing.
What can we do? If possible to avoid contacting support better, apple support gets 5 stars on the worst tech-support system.
