10.5.2 GUI Bugs: At least two I've found

Can any one confirm these two GUI bugs?
1. Date on iCal dock icon isn't aligned properly
2. Item counts in iPhoto flagged items isn't aligned properly

Unfortuantely, I do have the graphics update installed and do not have any custom display fonts set.
The only other problem I can guess at would be that I use Font Agent Pro for font management.
Any other ideas?
And this problem is only exhibited on my 17" Intel iMac at work. My MacBook doesn't show this problem.

I seem to have at least two, and maybe four, iCloud accounts, across my iPhone, my iPad and my MacBook Pro. Can I combine them into one iCloud account?

I seem to have at least two, and maybe four, iCloud accounts, across my iPhone, my iPad and my MacBook Pro. Can I combine them into one iCloud account? I have been able to log into what appears to be three of the four iCloud accounts I have. Two of them seem to be remarkably similar, and one appears to be only for my MacBook.I think I know which one my iPhone is backing up to, as I successfully restored from a back-up last week. The fourth iCloud account I can't access via password or security questions. Any advice would be much appreciated.

You cannot merge accounts.

Itunes doesn't list all of my recent podcasts. My show is Black Tribbles and it only shows episodes through March 2013, however we do at least two shows a week and they aren't listed. The feed works because the show update to my computer. Help please.

When subscribed to in iTunes the recent episodes show, but the Store hasn't updated for some time.
There appears to be an issue with the feed. In the episode 'WRESTLING MARCH MADNESS: Final Bracket & Championship' of 31st March you will find in the 'description' tag the following line:
4. KURT ANGLE
At the end of this line is an invisible character which seems to be wrecking the feed - although it works OK when suscribing in iTunes it won't load in a browser (and I also found the feed very slow to load, which won't help matters with the Store)
This sort of thing usually happens when you paste text in from a word processing application and manage to include one of the invisible control characters. I don't know how easy it will be do do it in Podomatic but you should delete that entire line and retype it to remove this charter.
You should keep an eye on the time it takes the feed to be accessed - if there is a long enough delay (and it was quite some seconds when I tried) the Store may well timeout and fail to read it. At the moment it's showing a cached version from the last time it was able to read it.

What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

HT3702 I had a I-tune card that I have been using I put it onto my computer at least two years ago and have been using it, I have like 2.83 left on the card, and it will not allow me to use my money until I put the three digit code from the gift card.

I no longer have this card it was at least two years ago I put all of the information, then and never need it again until today

Firefox keeps crashing on me every day at least two or three and it is very slow - what can I do to stop this??

When I turn on my laptop computer to use it, it crashes on me every day at least two or three times before I can use it.
Also, it is very slow such as when I want to scroll down my e-mail list. It stops and shows "loading" for a long period of time so I can't get to my older e-mails.
I didn't know that I was to keep the crash ID when I send crash reports.

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) have you tried deleting them from your iTunes library and redownloading them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes ? Re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads in the state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find those songs and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

GUI Bug at Frontpanel while editing in LV8.0 project

Hello,
since about 4 weeks i have the following (see attached screenshots)
visual bug in my LV project.
The Bug only happens in this project so far, but it is really annoying.
If you take a look at
Pic1: before saving
Pic2: after saving and moving some other windows
The Built itself is only affected in that way, that my windows, which has a fixed size, has some useless space at the bottom.
any ideas howto fix that issue finally ?

i would test that if LV would be possible to give me a working way to do so.
A) Frontpanel:
If i make: CTRL+A -> CTRL+C on the forntpanel, and paste it into a new VI,
i have a solution from GUI Bug aspect.
BUT i dont have the function copied, only the GUI.
B) Blockdiagramm:
If i make the same on the blockdiagramm, it copies all Blockdiagramm elements
BUT NOT all frontpanel elements.
so basicly it seems that i am NOT possible to copy all elements at once.
why ever
C) Save as new VI:
a save old vi to new name, doenst solves the GUI Bug problem at all.
So i feel forced to live with that ugly efffect

If you are willing to continue helping, here's what I found.
Just to clarify the two iTunes folders I am refering to are:
username-->Music-->iTunes
HD-->iTunes
I am presuming each location has a full set of files as outlined in the above links?
Not all the files are in both locations. Most are.
- The Itunes folder in my home folder does not have itunes library.xml.
- The Itunes folder in my home folder has a subfolder called Mobile Applications (username-->Music-->iTunes--> Mobile application). The Itunes folder at the HD level also has a Mobile Application folder but it is a subfolder of Itunes Media folder (HD-->iTunes--> iTunes Media-->Mobile applications) and has no files in it.
- I do not have an iTunes Media in the iTunes folder in my home folder.
- also the Itunes media folder (HD-->iTunes--> iTunes Media) has subfolders by type (books, movies, itunes u, music etc...) but the iTunes Media-->Music also has some of the same subfolders ( iTunes Media-->Music-->books, iTunes Media-->Music-->Movies, iTunes Media-->Music-->iTunes U). Is this normal repetition?

but it is important to note what comes before all that.
There is nothing as far as I can tell before that first forward slash. Since the only iTunes Media folder I have is in the iTunes folder that resides at the HD level (HD-->iTunes--> iTunes Media folder) not the iTunes folder in my home folder (username-->Music-->iTunes) , I assume that's the one that holds the music.
Keep iTunes media folder organized and Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library are both checked on

Safari issues with at least two sites and RSS Feeds broken

Greetings all. This is my first time posting on here, I'm also a new(er) Apple user. Finally switched from the dark side. Love the Macbook, but after so many years with a PC, I am definitely not within my element on some things. Here are my two issues:
1. On Safari (and Firefox incidentally) if I go to msnbc.com or yahoo.com I get a dysfunctional appearance. msnbc.com simply doesn't load except the outer frames. The inner content doesn't load at all. They have redesigned their site and I still only get the outer frame from the old design. On yahoo.com, it simply gives me a very bland, generic front page and tells me to upgrade to a more current browser. I'm running the most current Safari. Don't know what's wrong. I get some challenges on some other sites i visit, but nothing specific comes to mind - except maybe flash driven applications - heavy flash. They run slow or not at all.
2. I love(d) RSS feeds in Safari. All of a sudden they stopped working. It still shows unread messages - which I cannot clear - and will not load any new messages. If I try to read a feed, it gives me a error page - similar to a non-existent page/link. Not sure how to fix this.
With the first issue, being relatively new to Apple, etc, I honestly don't know if I selected some weird setting unknowingly that is causing my problems or not, etc. Don't know if I caught a virus, bug, etc. Wouldn't know how to find out if I did.
Anyone that is patient, intelligent with Apple and doesn't mind helping out a stupid new Apple user. :o) VERY MUCH APPRECIATED IN ADVANCE!

All companies are out there to make money, however much they try to disguise the fact.
GoldenShoes is partly right. However, not all sites are deliberately designed to just work in IE and Firefox; a lot of developers simply don't realise their code (or parts of it) is not functional in other browsers because at least 90% of the world's population use IE or FF. In other cases, it's just not economically viable to cater to such a tiny percent of the Internet-using population (besides, what would all those people that want to be 'different' do?!
You might want to try contacting those companies and telling them of your problems - after all, they are losing business by doing this and they may be unaware.
The other part of the argument is that FF, and IE especially, let a lot more 'bad', invalid code though to cater to their users. Opera and Safari don't really do this as much, and there is a lot of cross-browser incompatibility.

GUI Bug / Suggestion - View Network Connection Settings

I'm currently running Windows Server Technical Preview in a VMware Workstation environment. When I click on the network icon in the system tray, and then proceed to click on "View Network Connection Settings", nothing happens. Is this
a bug?
I know in the desktop OS this opens PC Settings which doesn't exist in Server, but it makes sense for this button to link to "Network Connections" or even "Network and Sharing Center" in Server.

the full graphical experience. Some shortcuts and elements in the GUI make sense only after you activate thoose functions. Windows Server seems a modified version of Windows client x64, more or less, some leftovers from the client origin still remain
in the server version. Some client features are present, but turned off by default, if you want to experiment, you can enable them. Windows Server can become very close to the Windows client, if you know what to turn on.

Mac GUI bug on Web dynpro

I have a bug in my Mac gui (also on rev 4).
When I open SE80 and present web dynpro, I cannot write anything on the VALUE column. I can only select values from drop downs.
How Can I report this bug?

Hello Itay,
this is the only way I know of to officially file a bug report.
There should be a some process in place inside your company to forward issues to a person eligible to create SAP support messages.
But you can try to explain the steps how to reproduce as part of a reply in this thread. But please do not expect the same service and workflow as in an official support message.

[GUI programming] How do two JPanels interact?

Hi, all
I've been looking if there is a standard/mostly-used way implementing GUI applications. e.g.,
under a JFrame, there are 2 MyPanel exntending JPanel, one placed on the leftside, the other on the rightside. they both have got a bunch of JButtons, JLabels, JList, etc. this is the view.
but for the control part, here comes the question: I'd would like PanelA to change background color if a Button on PanelB is pressed. where should I place this part of code that controls what happen. I've considered some possibilites, but not sure which one is the best.
1. implement it in main() like: if PanelA.Button.isPressed(), then PanelB.setBackground(Green)
pros: centrailized control
cons: could lead to long & messy code if there are many Panels needed to control
2. PanelA as Observer, PanelB Observable
pros: doable
cons: not very convenient
3. PanelA & PanelB both singleton, so they can reference to each other directly
pros: easy implementing
cons: less flexibility
if none of them is the way you do, how do you do it then?

You missed the obvious one, just let the controlling panel have a reference to the color panel. In your frame:
ColoredPanel coloredPanel = new ColoredPanel();
ControlPanel control = new ControlPanel(coloredPanel);

Automatic update download GUI bug - Windows 7

Since I upgraded to a new laptop with Windows 7 (Pro, 64-bit) I've noticed a problem with the GUI on an occasional Adobe application update prompt. A window with an Adobe logo pops up on my desktop, apparently trying to alert me about an available update. But it looks like the attached image. All that appears is a thumbnail of the upper-left corner of the window. There are no scroll-bars by which to view what's in the remainder of the window, and not enough of the window shows to even be able to read WHAT Adobe application the update is for! You can't re-size the window, either. I have a large number of Adobe applications installed on my system (Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, Premiere, Flash, etc.), so it's impossible for me to say exactly which one is pulling this particular auto-update prompt. But it looks like a bug in the code for the GUI. The only thing slightly unusual about my system I can think of is that my laptop (a Dell E6510) has the 1920x1080 display option, which is a little higher resolution than typical. But I haven't seen this problem with any other apps or update pop-ups on this system.
This problem doesn't precisely fit any forum or user-feedback categories that I can find on the Adobe website, but I am posting here in a downloads-related forum on the chance that somebody internal to Adobe might come across this post and direct it to whomever should know.
