I have a new ipad3 and a 6th gen nano- neither are syching. I thought the new update listed above was supposed to fix these errors. I am still unable to synch either. ipad running on 5.1 and nano running on 1.2. I am on a PC platform. iTunes recognizes both devices, but when you click synch, the entire program freezes!!! I have to manually stop it and shut down! I even tried uninstalling itunes and reinstalling it.
This is ridiculous, why did I spend the money to utilize these products when they ae not foing to function properly!! Anyone else having these issues??? Someone! Anyone! PLEASE HELP!!
Another approach that usually works when you dont have a proper backup...
In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library as iTunes Library (Corrupt) and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See MusicFolder Files Not Added and Super Remove Dead Tracks for tools to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
Probably not too late to recover that play count data if you want it.
