10.6.3 update fails and is NOT WORKING

I have 2 machines
MB PRO
MINI
both running snow leopard
both have been updated to 10.6.3
BOTH are having major problems running all aps.
Safai stops responding
Mail stops responding
Finder Stops responding
itunes stops responding
APPPLE PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!!

This is a user-to-user forum. Apple technical support does not respond here. We are simply all users trying to help one another. If you feel you need to contact Apple about your issues you need to call Applecare.
What did you do to prepare for this update? Did you run Disk Utility to check the integrity of your hard drive before updating? Did you make sure you had a current backup of all your data? Was the update applied through the Software Update preference panel or did you manually download the update? If you downloaded manually which version did you choose? Was it the correct one?
Fill us in on exactly what you did and exactly what is happening on your system. Maybe we can find a solution.

    Just downloaded the update. When it tried to update the Ipad 2, it failed with an error msg. and now the Ipad just displays the USB Itunes icon and is not usable. This happened the first time I updated and had to bring to a shop. Is this something to be expected on every update? Is there a way to recover without bringing to an Apple store? Am using a PC w/ windows 7 btw.

    Of course it is not to be expected. Either something in your ipad was corrupted or the download corruoted. If the iPad is displaying the major clue of a USB plug and iTunes, just do it.  Fire up iTunes and plug in your iPad. As long as you have sensibly backed up, all should work itself out.

     plz help asap!...
    newly bought N8 yesterday 4th april 2011 and today night i was updating to the latest firmware.
    Ovi suite after backing up and downloading the firmware... it started installing.
    then suddenly it throwed the error...like connection lost with device, press power button for 10seconds and continue installing. But it never wokred after continous attempts.
    PLZ help asap... i am getting frustrated and gone out of mind... not even experieced the N8 before that it has become dead piece...not able to start or anything..

    Welcome to the forum!
    Question is now is N8 on/off, you need to try depressing power button for 8 seconds until you feel 3 vibrations (this is same as removing battery)?
    As a last resort as precursor to returning device you probably need to try a three button depressed power on "hard reset", although if successful all data would be erased from device with some media consequences not all recoverable unfortunately.

  • Library Update Fails, Itunes will not work with new 9.0 update

    I just recently updated the Itunes software.
    Since doing it, when I plug my Ipod 180 gig into my computer, or just try to open Itunes, the Library starts to update
    I can do nothing else and then when it finishes, it fails.
    Itunes closes and I am back to square one.
    WHY?!?!?!
    It was fine before I updated. Everything was running smooth.
    This new update is messed up!!
    What do I need to do to fix this issue??

    OK - to answer my own question, Apple recommend 8.2.1, but you can install 9.1.1 and it will run on a G3. Very slowly. Looks like this is the only option. Get it here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1036. You need OSX 10.4.11 or later though....

  • Updated ATV and now: Not working

    Purchased Apple TV and set it up last night. All was working fine.  Prior to going to bed I initiated a software update.  Now there is an image on the screen that indicates I am to plug it into iTunes?  Nothing works when I try to use the remote to access the menu.  Read through the manual and followed instructions to reset the ATV.  Nothing is working.  Please help.

    The update didn't apply properly. It is telling to connect to your computer via micro usb and restore using iTunes.

    For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
    The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
    Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
    If you've already tried a complete uninstall and reinstall try opening iTunes in safe mode (hold down CTRL+SHIFT as you start iTunes) then going to Edit > Preferences > Storeand turning off Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases. You may find iTunes will now start normally.

  • HT201412 iPad 2 update to iOS6.1 fails and will not restore

    Tried to update one of our ad 2 to iOS 6.1. The update failed and left a screen with a picture of a USB cable with iTunes logo displayed. Tried the restore procedure three times. Each fails with an error about download file being corrupt.

    how did you do the update? i had teh error when i tryed to do over wifi. I had to plug into the computer to finish the update.. Make sure you are running the latest version of itunes or you will get errors as well

    I just did a reinstallation of Premier and made an update via Adobe update. I get this error.  Update failed. Could not apply the updates. The error log can contain informtion to help you identify the problem. Then try to update again. Contact Customer Support if the problem persists.

    This question has been asked several times recently.
    Do not bother with the issues of Premiere Elements 9.0 Help Menu/Update. Waste of energy. These updates involve only 9.0.1 and Camera Raw up to no more than 6.5. There is no more to be gotten after that.
    The remedy is quick and easy.
    Download and install the 9.0.1 Update from Adobe.  You can do the download and install with Premiere Elements 9 closed.

    Disconnect the iPad, do a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank and then power ON again in the normal way.] It is 'appsolutely' safe!, reconnect and follow the prompts.

    I have the same problem.  After updating to 6.1.2 my iPad 3,2 will not find Verizon network.  It just says "Searching..." for ever.  Any thoughts?

  • Remote procedure call failed and did not execute response after changing contents

    Hey Hey!
    I have reviewed the other posts related to this issue but have not found a solution.
    I have done myself quite a mischief and hope someone here can help me out!
    I'm running an old ACER laptop with Windows 7. This PC belonged to an old colleague and therefore all of the folders and user names were still under his name, so I decided to try to change them all to my name. The main issue was the USER folder which had
    the locked symbol next to it but it wasn't locked at all. I googled how to delete this folder and one bright spark suggested I create a new folder with my name, copy all of the folders from the other 'locked' user's folder into my folder, and then delete the
    old user's folder. 
    That was fine. All seemed well. When I tried to delete the old folder the computer sat around thinking saying it was 'moving' but not doing anything. So, I cancelled the operation in the Task Manager. When I attempted to open any folder from the start menu
    or desktop or task bar I was presented with a bunch of numbers and letters and the message "REMOTE PROCEDURE CALL FAILED AND DID NOT EXECUTE."
    I quickly googled the message realising I'd made a major error and the first response was to type in services.msc or something to that effect, so I typed that into the Start Menu search bar and hit enter and nothing came up. So, I tried again, but now I
    couldn't type anything into the search bar, I could not even select any programs from the Start Menu. 
    So, I can't access the Start Menu, search bar, or any of the folders unless I open uTorrent, select open containing folder, and from there I can access what I need.
    I'm too afraid to reboot the PC. I can't locate my copy of Windows 7 anywhere. I'm freaking out!!
    Before I pour my lowly student wage into getting a professional to fix it, could someone please offer some suggestions??
