10.6.7 Update Broke Video on my iMac
Been having a lot of problems with my iMac in recent weeks and I finally traced it back to the 10.6.7 update. Several programs were slowing down, especially Safari and I could no longer play Flash video on it to save my life. I did all kinds of maintenance and fixed permissions and eventually did a clean install of 10.6 this morning. Before restoring my files from Time Machine I tested out 10.6 and everything was speedy and Safari had no problem playing videos. I think did the combo update to 10.6.7 and Safari and video is still choppy and unwatchable. I tried downloading and installing other versions of Flash. No dice. I updated my Perian and Flip4Mac. Still the same problem. Not sure what I should do. I'd rather not do another clean install and just use 10.6. I found a version of Safari 5.03 and it it won't install on 10.6.7. Any suggestions out there?

Update Broke Dual Monitors...among other things
Well Good Evening everyone....I got home to an updated, broke windows build. I am guessing my PC stayed on and automatically updated over night. I came home to no signal on either of my monitors, all of my software that was installed is now missing,
and i could not get into my PC. I restarted several times but still no success. I finally removed my secondary monitor, and I then had my screen back which is when I discovered all of my settings and software had been removed, kindalike a Refresh PC you can
do on Windows 8. All of my files and documents are still in tact though. Also if I plug my secondary monitor back into the video card, still no signal. I've tried using the Windows+P to extend, as well as going to Screen Resolution but my settings will
not save when i hit apply. This is a bit annoying but I do understand its a technical preview. Just wish my secondary monitor worked, Windows 10 is no good without it. Any ideas?Have you tried deleting the drivers manually from Device Manager? Remove any and all components that might be conflicting and unplug any unrelated peripherals. Then reinstall the latest Windows 8.1 drivers. Also make sure your
monitor connections are setup properly.

Airport utility 5.3.2 update broke configuration functionality
After upgrading to the newest apple airport utility I can no longer read the configuration of any of my airports. Using an extreme and airport express.
I open the application, it shows my 2 airport networks but when I try to run any kind of configuration on them then it stalls at the 'reading configuration' screen.
This is quite a serious problem for me as this effects a work network that I need to be able to update. This is like the 3rd or 4th time something that was supposed to be an update broke functionality. Very disappointing. If someone is still on the old version, perhaps they could eMail it to me ?

After having to re-install my start-up drive recently I am getting a message with Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 that it can't find any "capable video play modules" and asks me to "update" my "video display modules". I am using a mid-2010 iMac 27" with OSX 10.7.3. How do I do this?
Premiere is an Adobe application and is supported in their forums.

I updated to Premiere Pro CC 2014, all the other Adobe CC 2014 software works great, but Premiere doesnt even load. The starting page (frame) comes up - my whole computer slows down and after a minute or two it crashes completely and comes up with the message : "Adobe Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers and start again."
I'm running a macbook Pro 15" (2014) with 16GB RAM and 760GB SSD.

Please go to the following location and rename the folder to old_folder name
User/user library/Application Support and rename Adobe folder
User/user library/Preferences and rename the Adobe folder
Then go to Documents folder and Go to Adobe/Premiere pro/8.0 and rename 8.0 folder
Make sure that you are in user library if you are not sure check the link below.

I have administrator rights to the computer. The drivers are up to date. But I am still getting the error message "Adobe Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers and start again" when opening Premier Pro CS5.5. This appears to have happed after I upgraded to Mac OS 10.10.2.

I had the same problem as you did though I am using Adobe CC. I saw nobody replied to you so perhaps my eventual success on my later version may have applications to the error on your version.
Anyhow, I did all the suggestions found here (Error "Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules" | Startup ) first and updated my NVidea card to no avail. Eventually what did the trick was this...
After mucking about with the video card, I said "OK lets just have a go at Premiere itself." So I uninstalled Premiere CC and reinstalled it. Now for some reason it didn't give me the latest patch but a slightly earlier version than the current one but lo and behold it was fine with the video card again. I was able to get my friend's video imported and quickly edited but then was having some issues with exporting where it would hang up but I went into Adobe Media Encoder and exported it there without a care. That task out of the way, I then went and made the update to the latest patch and it works perfectly fine - no video driver issues.
So short of it is this - if you've updated your drivers, perhaps what you could try uninstalling and reinstalling Premiere.

Premier Pro CC will not open, even though all my computer software is updated. It comes up with the message every time I try and open it. 2014.0.1 Update freezes video playback
Since downloading the 2014.0.1 update, my video playback will work for about 30 seconds and then will consistently freeze the frame right before moving onto the next clip. The audio continues to play from the next clip while the frozen frame is on screen.
Yesterday an Adobe helpdesk team member did the following:
-upped the ram available to premiere to 13gb instead of 11
-changed my Renderer to: Mercury Playback Engine GPU Accelerator (OpenCL) instead of Mercury Playback Software only
However, this has not stopped the problem from happening.
Changing the resolution in the playback monitor from Full, to 1/2, or 1/4 does not fix the problem either.
Is anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions?

Have had to resort to GPU Software mode which is spotty at best, but seems to work the longest in that setting before freezing. Now wasting time rendering, its like being back in FC7 with rending. What a waste of money and time. Will keep checking back to see if anyone has a figured this out. FYI: My MacPro Laptop 2013 with Nvidia graphics card with 16Gs memory has no problems with any of this, but it kind of defeats the purpose, since I thought I was upgrading to a faster better more powerful system.

You could've backed up your iPad prior to the "forced" upgrade which, by the way, you could have cancelled. iTunes doesn't upgrade your iPad, automatically, on its own. You had to click the Upgrade button to initiate the upgrade. You didn't have to do anything with that button. You can just leave it be.
iOS 8 is garbage on iPad 2 and 3 and even though iTunes keeps giving me the Update button option, I continually choose to ignore it.
Ignoring the Upgrade/Update button doesn't affect the normal iTunes/iDevice syncing/backing up operations.
You could've just left that button alone.
When was the last time you backed up your iPad?
While there is no way way to revert to a previous iOS version once you upgrade your iDevices iOS, iTunes saves multiple backups of your iDevice and if you backed up your iPad previously to this latest activity, you should be able to restore your iPad from an older backup that should appear by date when you plug your iDevice into your Mac, was for iTunes to launch and sync your iPad, then cancel the backup in progress and use the Restore function in iTunes to restore your iDevice from another previous backup version date.
If your current version of iTunes doesn't recognize your iPad2 under iOS 8, you need to check the iTunes update feature, in iTunes or in OS X Software Update feature in OS X Preferences panel to see if there is a iTunes update available for OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard. -
I can't update my videos, please help
im having trouble updating my videos to my ipod. Whenever i go to the ipod settings, and i go to videos, it is marked as, "do not update videos" and it is greyed so i cant change it, what should i do?

This is because you are manually updating the music. You need to automatically update music to be able to automatically update videos.
