10.6.8 update & Outlook

Just upgraded to 10.6.8 - I am having a problem with Outlook Mac 2011. I cannot create a "new email" - Command-N works for new calendars, tasks, appointments, etc, but I cannot create a new email. Any suggestions for a fix?

Okay, I repaired my permissions and then installed the update combo.... that fixed the problem.

Updating Outlook Calendar with appointment

Hey Guys!!
I am trying to update outlook calendar with appointments. I did some research and could send the .vcs file as an attachment to the email. But the user has to open the email and double click the attachment and save it to add the appointment to his calendar. Is there a way in java where I can directly update this .vcs file in his calendar folder.
Any suggestions/help greatly appreciated!

kishoreMaybe you already understand this (could not tell from the post) but as I recall:
The .vcs file is not a file that you update in a users Outlook setup, it is a file containing vCalendar entries.
vCalendar is a specification for passing calendar events in a system independent manner. There is also a vCard specification for address entries.

In the past I created a set of Java classes for creating vCard and vCalendar objects that could then be turned into a File or String containing the appropriate representation.
The idea was to then e-mail the file as an attachment that the user could open.
At the time, Outlook's implementation did not seem complete and was kludgy. One of the two (vCard or vCalendar) worked a little better than the other but I do not remember which or exactly why.
Anyhow, vCalendar should still be the way to go as that is/was its purpose. Unless no longer supported by Microsoft, I would think they would have worked out some of the problems by now. I believe Microsoft was one of the companies in the original design of the specification (along with IBM? and others). The specification was later taken over by someone else (IMC?).

Ifilter does not update Outlook to search for attachment content

We are using Windows 7 and Outlook 2014, 64 bit
I installed the iFilter application (9 for 64-bit platforms).
I can now search attachment content (PDF) using Windows explorer.
But, i cannot search attachment content in Outlook.
I did follow instructions on Adobe website in installation and setting up the envirnoment variable. NOt sure why it works in Windows explorer but not Outlook.
Does it needs to be installed on the Exchange server as well?

I would recommend starting over and migrate using your Time Capsule backup however DO NOT do it wirelessly, connect using an Ethernet Connection. If you upgraded to Lion from Snow Leopard then follow the instructions in this video, the kid is annoying but he knows what he's doing. Clean Install Of Snow Leopard video. Once you have installed and updated Snow Leopard then update using the 10.6.8 Update Combo, then log into the Mac App Store and re-install Lion and all it's updates. My guess this is an afternoons work.

Icloud 4 update & outlook contacts

I updated to icloud 4 over the weekend.
i lost all previously syncing/working calendars and contacts on OUtlook
i have reinstalled. i have tried unchecking and rechecking the sync on icloud control panel.
Do they have to be moved from my itunes account which is my email address to my new icloud email? even though i see my new icloud email account on outlook, it does NOT come with the accompanying calendars or contacts.
please help

Any calender entries I make on my iPhone do not get updated into Outlook on my PC during sync.
Entries made in Outlook are updated OK in my iPhone and if I then edit the entry in iPhone it sync's properly in Outlook & vice versa.
There are no other sync issues.

I have an older iMac running 10.5.8 that I use to hold my media. I am running the latest upgrades of the OS for iTunes and Airport. I am trying to use the "Home Sharing" (HS) function of ATV without success. I have turned on the HS functions in the ATV software as well as in the preferences (where I have selected the files to be shared, all of them) and pull down menu of the iTunes software.
The internet is accessed through a cable modem using an ethernet cable to Airport and another cable to the iMac. ATV is via wireless to the Airport. Signal strength to the ATV is 4/5 bars and deemed adequate when I run the network checking software on ATV.
Thinking that it using the gen 1 iPad might help, I have tried to use that instrument to kick start HS. After going through the process of setting up HS, I am asked if I want to access a library. When I select that option I am told to open iTunes, select and select the iPad, but nothing happens after that. No joy.
I have turned off and on the router (Airport) and iTV. (I have not turned off and then on the cable modem) I have restarted the base computer and logged off of and on to iTunes. Turned of and reinitiated HS using "remote" on the iPad. I have checked the IP address, which starts out 172.xx.xx.x and seems to be correct. ... still no joy.
The ATV will access the internet and play trailers, podcasts as well as internet "radio". It is just not recognizing the poor lonesome iMAC.
Sadly, this is the first time I have had trouble with an Apple product that I could not resolve.

Updating outlook calendar on BBZ10 from desktop PC

Please can anyone tell me if I can update my BBZ10's calendar from my outlook calendar on my desktop PC without also drawing down the contacts in outlook. Any help and detail around steps required would really be appreciated,

TS4147 Duplicate contacts on iPad after updating Outlook 2007

After updating contacts in Outlook 2007 and syncing my iPad via iCloud, I have duplicates of the updated contacts (the original one & the updated one) on my iPad. I checked iCloud contacts and no duplicates exist there and the duplicates do not exist in Outlook 2007. When I delete the original contact from iPad, both (the original and updated) contacts are gone from the iPad and the contact is completely removed from iCloud and Outlook 2007. I am not using Exchange.

I have the same problem here. I didn't change my setup.
iPad: duplicate birthday entries (some), duplicate contacts (some), when deleting doublette you lose both
icloud.com: duplicate bithday entries, no duplicate contacts!
I deleted contacts from the iPad because I thought the sync process created the duplicate while resolving conflicts. But that was not the case. I had duplicate contacts on the iPad that i haven't touched a while ago.
I lost contacts. Is there a way to get a backup for some/all of my contacts from apple?

After 9/12/07 Update Outlook not an option

using Win XP Pro with Outlook I do not have the option of syncing to Outlook. Up until this update, it was working fine.

I am using Outlook 2007 on a 64-bit pc and am looking to update the calendar on my iPhone 5c running ios 7, but it does not work. I have turned off the icloud tabs on the phone and itunes on my pc is set to "sync calendar with outlook". When I synchronize the phone, the calendar does not update.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Update outlook calendar from access 2010 database

When I registrate an appointment in hour access 2010 database, I want to create an apointment in the outlook calendar. Is that possible? I tried to link to the outlook calendar from Access 2010, but the appointment date does not show, and therefore
I can't use this method!
My next question: Is it also possible to registrate an appointment in the outlook calendar and update the calendar in my access 2010 database.

Updating Outlook Properties

Hi,
I am using Oracle Beehive Extensions for Outlook.
In a new message, I enter my id in TO and then right click gives me Outlook Properties.
I want to update details like Contact Number etc.
Please help and suggest.

Contact details are not self-updatable. You have to have the right privileges to do that, and then you can't do that in Outlook anyway.

After Lion update, Outlook 2011 not working...

I update Lion last night, and this morning I can't open the New Message window in Outlook 2011 to send a new message. I rebooted the computer after the install, and after that I tried closing down the program and rebooting.

My ipod 5c will no longer update outlook calander, nor will it update Icloud calendar but will update contacts

Iphone recenly updated to 8.1.2 . I know notice I cannt synch any calendars but can sync contacts. I have fully restored phone and checked all details are correct. It seems this was caused by software update?

Updating outlook calendar on blackberry

When I sync my blackberry to my IMac the calendar updates from the IMac repeat themselves on the phone instead of just maintaining one copy of each event on each calendar...???
