10.7.2 launchpad icon size is ridiculous huge :(((

I updated to 10.7.2, everything is fine. The iCloud is great but the launchpad icon size is annoying me. They are ridiculously too big, maybe this is the first tim Apple disapointed me for their update. I've been searching for the solution to resize the icons' size. But probably there is none temporary. APPLE PLEASE BRING THE ICON SIZE BACK!!!!!

How on earth did you figure that out?
That worked fine for me on my macbook air, but I had to borrow the system file from my other computers time machine drive.
I guess without a time machine backup, it can't be done.
What is strange is, I actually like the 10.7.2 launchpad on my iMac, it looks much better,  the icons are well spaced, probably because it has a 27" screen, not a 13" one. It looks horrible for laptops!
Apple Really really really need to add a preferences pane for launchpad.
I'm glad my launchpad looks as great as it did before!
Thanks for this amazing solution, if I have any issues with it I will post them here.
So far so good though.
Thanks!

  • Launchpad icon size

How do I reduce the stupid size of the icons so that all my apps can appear on one screen instead of unnesssary scrolling.

Use feedback to let Apple know you aren't thrilled. I doubt this will change though because Apple seems intent on having computers look the same. The emphasis is on the same number of rows and columns rather than letting us have more rows and columns on larger displays.

  • Launchpad Icon size 10.7.2

Hay alguna forma de cambiar el tamaño de los iconos en en Launchpad, realmente son muy grandes y no son de mi agrado.
¿Hay alguna forma de dar una sugerencia para la proxima actualización?

  • Launchpad icons change size after launching app?

For some reason, whenever I launch apps on Launchpad, the icon sizes seem to change. I screenshotted the icons, and especially for Pocket Planes (which has a squarish icon) I found the difference. Before it was 83x81, after launching the app it is 83x87. I have included four examples.
    before                                                  after
    before                          after

    Hi Isla,
I had same problem after update from 10.7 to 10.7.2 and upper versions.
one way I know and working for me is just replace Dock executable file inside Dock.app package with old version.
Detailed instruction you can check on this video:

Hope it will help you too.

  • How to reset launchpad icons to default size?

    Specs:
    MacBook Pro 13 inch
    OS-X Maveriks (10.9)
    Mid-2012
    Good Conditions
    Recently restored to factory settings
    No illigeal softwere
My launchpad icons keep getting smaller and it looks very bad, I liked how they look in big size because they were the deafult but got smaller and any fix would help. I had this issue before with Mountian Lion (10.8) and resotred my Mac to factory settings when did Maveriks (10.9) but still with the same problem. I can be caused by Logic Pro X which I downloaded from the AppStore but I don't know any help would be welcome.

cmd - (smaller) or cmd + (bigger) !!

  • Automatically set finder icon size

    Hi,
there is a apple script or something that can automaticcaly change icon size for folders and documents in finder? My target is to show the max number of icon inside the finder window...
    thanks

ok, thanks, but is not what i want.
Think if in osx is built in a function that for the number of icons inside the folder show in finder , automatically resize icons (with a min and a max size presetted) relative to the number of icons in that folder.
Sometime i have one icon and the size is too small... sometime i have to many icons and the size is too large and i must scroll everytime.. is not very userfriendly...
another question... is possible in launchpad have a spotlight textfield that allow me to write the name of the app i want to find?? sometime i have app inside folder or in another page and is not simple find immediatly the app iwant...
    thanks

  • How do I turn off and on the icon size slider bar at the lower right status bar of a folder window.

I have been trying for days to help a friend with a new iMac to turn on the icon size slider bar that on my iMac appears at the bottom of ever folder when it is open when in the "view" > "icon" mode.  I cannot find anything that discusses this slider bar.  I can turn this status bar off and on on both my machine and my friends machine, but I cannot turn off or on the slider on either machine.

This did not help.  I am a Mac User since 1984 and generally I am never stymied buy the Mac OS, but this one has me.   I can open and close the lower status bar, as you described, and that works fine for me because I have the icon slider bar already there and it works fine; however when I open the lower status bar on my friends machine there is no icon size slider bar, and I can't seem to find out how to get it there, as it is on my machine or at all. The icon size can be controlled from the View menu, but as a photographer, it is really handy to have it at the bottom of the folder window.  Thanks for trying.

  • Photoshop CC 2014 UI Menu Text And Icon Size?

so i really like that adobe has added the "experimental" option to increase the ui menu text and icon size in photoshop cc 2014, it was almost unreadable on my 2560 x 1440 27" monitor with photoshop cs4 and illustrator cs4, but the lone 200% setting is too big... seems that 125%, 150%, or maybe even 175% would be much better solutions. in fact, for reasons i can't quite understand, the ui text and icon size in illustrator cc 2014 is spot on, absolutely perfect on my monitor, even tho there is no option for increased ui size as far as i can tell, it was spot on the moment i installed and launched it.
in short, the photoshop cs4 and illustrator cs4 user interfaces were identical in size as far as i could tell, and far too small on my 2560 x 1440 27" monitor. in terms of cc 2014, the illustrator ui is perfect out of the box on my monitor, considerably larger than illustrator cs4, while the photoshop cc 2014 ui is identical to cs4, tiny, but can be enlarged 200% which makes the ui too big. why couldn't/didn't adobe just make the photoshop cc 2014 base ui the exact same size as the illustrator cc 2014 ui? it would have been perfect (for my monitor size).

thanks... just wish illustrator cc 2014 wasn't so perfect in terms of ui size, i mean it's just great and, consequently, makes it seem as if the ball was dropped with photoshop cc 2014... i mean how can one be spot on while the other be so far off?

  • Is there a way to increase the icon size (and the text below) without using zoom?  I am trying to help out someone who has moderate visual impairment that does not want to use zoom just to see the icons and their labels.

Is there a way to increase the icon size (and the text below) without using zoom in iOS 7?  I am trying to help out someone who has moderate visual impairment that does not want to use zoom just to see the icons and their labels.

    Hello Apple.
It seems you have gone to great lengths to improve accessibility in many areas of the iPad. Why was this obvious problem with icon text size missed?  (It's not with the Mac.). And for so long too.
Do you employ people with actual accessibility problems to help you do UI design?
I think too, that some buttons are too close for people who might have motor control problems.
I love my iPad but I fear as I age, the iPad might not keep up with me.

  • Calendar in Yosemite does not comply to Sidebar icon size setting?

The icon size and the font size in the sidebar of System apps can be set in
System Prefs => General => Sidebar icon size
The Finder of OS X 10.10 does react to this setting, Mail.app does and in Mavericks also Calendar.app did.
On my MBP running Yosemite, Calendar v8.0 always shows quite large icons and a large font in the sidebar.
Is this a problem of my installation, or is it "normal"?
There are other problems of the Calendar sidebar, for example I am unable to enlarge the sidebar to show longer names of individual calendars.

If you want the calendar entries that you create on the phone to sync with the gmail, you need to create the entry in the gmail calendar on the phone.  If you create it in the phone calendar, it is only on the phone.
Usually at the very top of the new event entry you have a choice of which calendar to create this event in.  Either Phone, gmail or any other option you have synced to your phone.  To get it to sync to the gmail calendar you need to select the gmail calender.

  • How do I remove launchpad icon from the launchpad itself?

So after using Clean My Mac 2 for the first time I deleted 3.25GB of space from my macbook air. What was also deleted were the iconds in the launchpad, by icons I mean that when I openes launchpad you could see a space and the name of the app but you couldn't see the icon. The way to fix that was to drag all the apps from the application folder in the finder to the launchpad icon in the dock. Now all of my apps are back and launchpad is also in the launchpad now and I want to get rid of it because it is useless there. Is launchpad supposed to be inside the launchpad anyway or did it appear there because I dragged all the apps from the applications folder to the launchpad icon? Any help will be accepted. Thank You.

Hold down the COMMAND key, select the icon and drag out of the menubar. It should away.

  • Change icon size in dock

I upgraded to OS X 10.9 from Mountain Lion. The icons on my dock (which I have on the right hand side of my screen) all became smaller with the upgrade. When I move the slider bar in dock settings (in system preferences) from small to large the icons do not change size as they did in Mountain Lion. Is this a bug in Mavericks or do I need to do something besides moving the slider bar from small to large? Thanks.

    frazzm,
    Finder>View>Show View Options>Icon Size.

  • Change icon size in Lion Finder

In Lion, is there any way to increase the size of photos in the icon view in Finder?  There used to be a slider allowing you to make the icons large enough to guess what they might be.  I have not yet found any way to resize these icons--the pinch gesture does not work on them.

    frazzm,
    Finder>View>Show View Options>Icon Size.

  • Icon Size Within Dock Folders

I would like to change the icon size within the applications folder, it seems rather large, I liked the size of the previous OS icons. It's no big deal but it looks comical compared to the rest of 10.6 visually.

    no, that's fixed.

  • Icon size in finder is to inconvenient

There used to be a slider allowing you to make the icons large enough and the pinch gesture does not work either.
i just think going trough Finder/show view options/icon size. Takes to long and its something i really used.
Is there a setting or something i could do to make the pinch gesture to work on them?

Finder/View/Show Status Bar will bring up slider in Finder windows.
