10.7.5 Update install disables account passwords

Hello,
Running software update on iMac 27" to install 10.7.5 over 10.7.4 disabled all account passwords. Unable to log on to administrator account to replace/update passwords. Using the "Recovery" option reverted back to 10.7.4 from a Timecapsule back up and the acount passwords remain disabled. Unable to log on to any account using previous/current passwords and unable to log on to adminstrator account to replace/update passwords. iMac is now locked. 10.7.5 has affected the password authentication at login making the iMac unusable.
Help needed to circumvent this condition from downloading 10.7.5.

Ipod updater install disabled

I am trying to restore my new ipod nano and it says I need to update the ipod updater. I downloaded the latest version, but when it gets to "install" it says disabled. How can I get around that?
itunes recognized the ipod at first, then froze. Every time I went to connect ipod, itunes crashed. I updated all the relevant software (except ipod updater). Now itunes stays open, but it doesn't recognize ipod nano, when connected to the ipod nano.

I'm using an ipad2 when I go to update installed items it asks me for my old email password...I have deleted that account. Signed confused and frustrated.

How do ingot rid of an old email! It's been deleted & the al store keeps asking for my password on my old email! I have a new email and ID. How domi permanently get rid of my old one????

If you mean that you purchased those apps via an old iTunes Store account, you will have to use that old account ID and password to obtain updates. That account information should still be valid even though you no longer have the email account the user name of the ID originally came from.

It sounds like the apps were purchased using your dads account, so they will have to be updated using that account.

I have two apple ID passwords and two devices when I try to use my account/password it asks for the other account that I don't have the password to. Can update or buy anything. Can you help ?

I have one computer and one iTunes library and two devices hooked up to it. But I have to apple IDs a different one for each of the two devices. When I try to buy or update something using my account and password it asks for the other account password so I can buy or update anything. I can log into this website using my accountant it recagnizes me but i still can't get it to work on the App Store . I don't know I'f this matters but I just updated to iOS 6 and then tried it and it wouldn't work. Before I updated it , when I would try to get an app or something it would still ask me for the other password , but if I pushed cancel then it would ask me do mine and then it would work , but it doesn't do that anymore. If I push cancel it just cancels and does nothing. I hope you can give me some suggestions, I really need your help:)

Thanks for the help Niel. I couldn't change the rescue email address (an address that no longer exists and is therefore useless) until I could correctly answer the security questions. After numerous guesses, finally got them right. Was then presented with the option to change the rescue email address. Guess the only other option was to have Apple Support make the change or reset my account info. Have made note of the correct answers so this won't happen again. Thanks for the fast response!!

Resource account password set during User Update process.

I added to the Update WF a step to initialize an account password when, during the update of the user, IDM creates the new resource account.
This is an initial password (known).
This event basically happens in two User's Update cases:
A. when the account was (accidentally) removed from the resource
B. when a new Role requires to add a new resource account to the user
In both cases IDM (re)creates the user account on the resource.
In order to set this account initial password, I check (in the Update WF) the value of 'user.update.toCreate': if it contains the resource name, then I set the pw after the account has been provisioned.
This method fails during case B. only when, for some reason, the resource account already exists BEFORE the update starts: even if the account is already there, IDM sets 'user.update.toCreate', leading my step to reset the account password to the initial value.
What could I check in order to avoid it? (I don't want to reset account passwords when linking existing accounts)
The only way I see at the moment would be to query the resource at the beginning of the Update WF to check if the account is already there...

Update Farm account password & Service account password

Hi,
I am using one account for the farm, which is used as service and managed account and would like to update the password.
Can anyone of you provide me script or steps to update the password.

If you're using as a managed account, yes it will (because it updates the managed account and any services it runs). What it won't update is the Default Content Access account information (your "crawl" account) in Search or the User Profile Synchronization
connection information. You'll have to update those two manually.

Update iTunes account password/ID?

Can't "update" anything since I can't get password correct. iPhone still has original Apple ID which I changed two years ago and when I request new password for it I don't receive anything from Apple. Are they using an old email address... how do I update iTunes data?

Because you created a new AppleID with that email address and you cannot use that email address to update your old AppleID.
Change the new AppleID to another email address then update the old AppleID with the new email address.

Update to Mavericks, Firmware password lost

Hello,
about a year ago I set up a firmware password for my MacBook 5.1 (Aluminium Unibody MacBook, no Pro). I forgot to store the password in 1Password, so now I'm stuck with a MacBook which has a firmware password set I can't reset.
Will the Mavericks installer ask for the firmware password? Or will it just install Mavericks like it installed every other 10.8.x update in the past months?

I know that there might be a chance that Apple might disable the firmware password when I go to an Apple Store, but I'm interested in getting to know if installing the update to Mavericks requires the firmware password or not. "Dot updates" did not require the firmware password, but I don't want to create a bricked machine in case Mavericks does.

Just wondering how I can create a new account and password?
I've bought a second hand iMac from a dealer who hasn't fully erased the previous owner's user name and password. Therefore , I can't update or install any new password or update to Mountain Lion...
There is also no installation disc, so I don't seem to be able to reset the password that way.
I've just gone into the dos text :/root and wondered what I can do to create a new account and password without having to reinstall Snow Leopard?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you still have access to your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email account and verify it. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. You can now go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your correct iCloud ID and password.
If you don't have access to your old email address, you will have to contact Apple to have them reset the password so you can disable Find My iPhone and sign into your iCloud account. You can either go to https://expresslane.apple.com, select "More Products and Services", then "Apple ID", then on the next page select "Other Apple ID Topics", then "Lost or forgotten Apple ID password" and click "Continue"; or you can contact Apple Support (http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/).
