Hi,
We are upgrading to 11i soon and Ive been told that we are covered by our current license agreement etc but was wondering if anyone has experienced any license pitfalls in the process of upgrading?

It all depends. Have you been through a licence migration recently? If my memory serves me right you would have purchased concurrent users (see your orginal licence agreement). Since then Oracle has moved to the 'Oracle e-business' price book which is based on named users. Somebody should have taken you through this. I know this sounds straight forward, but there is all sorts of people in Oracle that have to get involved so can be a bit of a nightmare. If you want more information then contact me at e-Vector.
PS: I am XOracle and have 8 years Oracle e-Business suite commercial experinace so understand why Oracle do things and often can find 'short cuts' in dealing with the beurocracy. 11i to r12 Conversion - help needed

Hi
My client is doing re-implementation of r12 and migrating from 11i to r12. I need help particularly on conversions side. The client is a SaaS company. they are considering to bring open and history transactions and applied/unapplied receipts to r12 AR.
- how to migrate revenue scheduled open/closed invoices from 11i to r12 since rev schedules for a SaaS company is expected to be long terms. and how to make sure that rev schedules are correct upon migration to r12??
- for partially paid invoices how to make sure that the same partially paid amount reflects in r12 upon conversion? can a negative line amount equalling to paid amount be a possible solution??
- upon migration do the closed invoices have to be converted as open and receipts re-applied after migration in r12 or they can be brought in as-is with status closed?
- if customer paid for an invoice using a credit card in 11i and upon migration it came to notice that the credit card is no longer used by the customer so how to re-apply the same receipt in r12 which was applied in 11i using that credit card. do we have to enable it in r12 just for closing the invoice? what could be possibilities?
please anyone if can answer would be very helpful

It depends on the dpi. Usually 72dpi = 72 pixels per inch.
1000/72 = 13,88888 inch
1 inch = 25,4 mm
13,88888 * 25,4 = 352,7777 mm
You do the arithmatic with a calculator.
To do the same with pictures, you can do it in any image editor. Even Preview.app :

What is the Diffrence between Oracle 11 and Oracle11i ?.

Oracle 11i is internet based and run with java platform where we can see the applets downloading alongwith oracle forms and it refreshes all the jar files in oracle default directory.
Oracle 11 is not intergrated with Java its an Oracle standalone platform.

I have downloaded 11i E-Business suit for Windows and
Installed it successfuly.
I am having problem with windows plateform regarding listner, connection manager, service host, rpc all these stopping/terminating by itself and system rebooting.
I would like to install 11i on Linux.
Q1. Which files I need to download again?
Q2. Is there any script I need to run for LInux?
I have run adautostg.pl and it hasnot given me any error for start cd but when it came to appl_top it said as "This is for windows, continue any way" and I said yes. so it made stage.
I can't run setup as user Oracle as it is not allowed to write on disk, can u also give me suggestion about that?
I am installing 11i on single node.
Q3. I can use the same files of windows for linux as
I saw some .sh shell commands and
startcd/rapidwiz/adautostg.pl is also used in
unix/linux.

I have run installation of 11i for windows on Linux plateform and now I would like to share it with u all.
1. I run adautostg.pl by using command $perl adautostg.pl and it has staged all the startcd disks without any error.
2. when it came to other cdies it has prompted me as "this file if for windows; continue any way" and I pressed ok and it has staged all the files without any furthur error.
3. After it, I have made the necessary adjustments to run rapidwiz command and it run successfully. Now it has copied all the 113 files successfuly.It has run adrun9i.sh and is giving me error on process 5. (at 20% of installation) that it cannot run files

PL/SQL agent is down on 11i

I clone a TEST 11i instance (build by previous team and not use for a long time) on new TEST server, after that, start the apps tier, everything looks fine, but the PL/SQL agent is down ( I refresh the web component several times). everything else are up.
I try to check the application, I can not have oracle form window pop-up, like when I chose the system administrator --> request, it should lunch jinitiator and pop-up the oracle application. But I didn't get anything. I think this is the problem with that PL/SQL agent is down.
After start all services with adstrtal.sh, here is the summary in the end of log.

Just FYI, I finally have this problem fixed, after researched over the metalink and read tons of notes for the past week. Since I can get to Forms60cgi without any problem, it narrows down my search a little bit.

That's exactly symptoms what I have, I unset env variable LC_COLLATE, and everything is fine.
I can not beleive it's such a small thing that cause the problem I have been work on for so many days.

.Database upgrade from 10g to 11g in Oracle EBS 11i

An urgent help is needed.I am upgrading Oracle Database from 10g to 11g.My EBS is version 11i.So after upgrading my database
from 10g to 11g as sa sanity check what are the parameters we need to take care of the EBS.My point is will there be any Application level changes if the database
is upgraded?Wiill the Workflow and what other things we had to do the sanity check if its working properly?Any Concurent Program level changes be affected?

11i installation problem on NT 4.0 SP6a

I have one 11i installation problem:
envoirment: NT 4.0 sp 6a MEM 394MB, cpu 550MHZ HD 40GB
install MKS, GNUMAKE (3.79), VC++, JDK 1.3 before Apps install.
And I could see which, gnumake.exe on DOS prompt. But the error
message say:
" which command is available; gnumake is not
available."
I already set the path varible path=C:\MKSTOO~1\bin;C:\MKSTOO~1
\bin\x11;C:\MKSTOO~1

Actually, I already did this and found that this works correctly. I guess it
was the "install to d:\\weblogic600" that threw me off...

Problem : Oracle apps 11i installation on windows 2000

Hi,
I'm trying to install oracle 11i apps in windows server. I have done all prerequsite steps before starting intallation.
In front end screen its saying

R12 CLASSPATH to compile the 11i custom OAF pages in R12

Hi,
Can you please let us know how to compile the 11i custom OAF pages in R12 in Unix Box.
We copied the 11i custom OAF pages to R12 and when we try to compile the java files all are erroring out. How can we compile these classes.

Hi,
File -> Export not working after upgrade from 11i to R12.1.3 in few systems. Can you please let me know what could be the issue.
If export record count more than 200 it is working fine in all the systems and if change the profile option "Export MIME type” value to ‘text/tab-separated-values’ from application/excel also it is wokring.

11i EBS XML Publisher Report with Multiple Data Source

I need to create XML Publisher report in 11i EBS pulling data from another 10.7 EBS Instance as well as 11i EBS in single report.
I am not allowed to create extract or use db links.
My problem is how to create Data Source Connection using Java Concurrent Program.
The approach I am trying is
1. create Java concurrent program to establish connection to 10.7 instance.
2. Will write the SQL queries in Data Tempalete with 2 Data Source 1 for 11i EBS and 2 for 10.7 EBS
3. Template will show the data from both query in 1 report..
Is there any other way to proceed using datasource API...

The query should be same @ detail level, only the template has to be different for summary and details.
@runtime, user can choose to see the detail/summary
Disadvantage, if the data is huge,
advantage , only one report.
option2:
create two separate reports summary and details
and create diff data and diff layout and keep it as different report
Advantage, query will perform based on the user run report, summary/detail, so that you can write efficient query.
Dis advantage , two reports query/template to be maintained.

Migration of Approved Invoices from 11i to R12

Hi All,
I am migrating all approved invoices from 11i to R12 using Invoice Interface tables and "Payables Open Interface Import" Concurrent program.But in R12 the Approval status changes and to "Required" and the Accounted status of distribution line changes to Unprocessed. We do not have the set up for approval work flow process, So the invoice should be validated by "Force Validation" by checking the ‘Allow Force Approval’ in payable options. But when I am running the "Invoice Validation" program the theere is no change in the Approval status.

I am a newbie to Oracle Apps. I guess Oracle Apps use the "sequence" to generate the Key in the Oracle tables or is there some else mechanism.
When migrating Oracle Apps from lower version to higher version, is there any concept of setting the sequence numbers in Oracle Apps or we don't need to take care of this ie the migration handles this automatically.The migration/upgrade script/driver should take of seeded objects,

(patch 7461070). When I run admrgpch without -admode option, admrgpch completes successfully.
However, when I just add -admode option in same command, getting error that "invalid option -s". Please see below details and suggest since there is Note: This merge should be a full merge using -admode.

Actually, I tried that one as well by running admrgpch from newly installed R12 code tree and I got below error.

11i to R12 upgrade

Hi,
I am doing test upgrade 11.5.10.2 to 12.1.1
I am following R12 upgrade guide and 1211 install guide. I finished rapid install step "Creating the Upgrade File System". Now my next step is to perform upgrade (apply upgrade drivers).
It is not clear in the documents and patch readme if I need to apply patches to 11i APPL_TOP or newly created R12 file system. Can somebody help me?

Which document says I need to apply only database driver? So far I have reviewed upgrade guide Part No. E14010-01.In the Same upgrade guide part NO:E14010-01 check the page no:73 it given as follows:
Under Section 3 "Upgrading to Release 12.1.1"
10. Run the American English upgrade patch driver (required)
Applies to 11i release level: All
TUMS step key: N/A
To bring your database to the full Oracle Applications Release 12.1.1 level, use AutoPatch to run the (American English) unified driver (u6678700.drv). It is located in $AU_TOP/patch/115/driver.
Run the driver on the administration server node on your Release 12.1.1 APPL_TOP
using the following commands:
$ adpatch options=nocopyportion,nogenerateportion
Do I need to start database in new R12 file system.Yes. All the steps mentioned under Section 3.9 onwards need to perform in the new 12.1 Oracle _home
