10.8.1 update shows full OS X 10.8.1 as an update
Today when i tried software updates - it was interesting to see 2 updates
1, Software Update (10.8.1)
2. OS X Mountin lion. 10.8.1
the first one when i clicked update it installed and restarted. so far so good.
second one is interesting. I am Already on Mountain Lion, applied new software update of 10.8.1 and now i see a download button against it - when I click this it says Mountain Lion already installed - which I am aware and is fact - why it shows up as an update? and doesnt go away. Not sure where is the issue - or do i have to install this as well

My iPad Mini with retina display suddenly will not connect to the Internet. It shows full wifi bars, yet no web pages will load. My Internet is working with all other apple devices in my house. The iPad also no longer works with celluar data. I'm not sure what has happened. It was working fine a few hours ago. I have tried resetting it, ive restarted my browser etc. I tried to erase all data from my Ipad but I can't do that because it needs to sign into my Apple ID and use the Internet!
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

For some reason the full URL ] on some sites will not show up.
I have opened Fire Fox and it shows the full URL ] but not in IE 11 ]
I have reset to default settings and it still is not showing up the full URL ]
Also it is not showing all the fav icons on my favourites bar only the stock explorer icon
What have I tried.
Resetting to default / Tools / Options / Advanced / Show full url and http .

I would suggest you lauch IE by running
iexplore.exe -extoff
and check the result.

SSRS Tablix not showing full resultset. Recordset seems truncated.

I have created a tablix for Test Results History as shown below. All components are added inside of a Rectangle (container).
Issue:
1) This table failed to show full resultset; recordset got truncated. The query returns 316 records, table displays only 239 records, where 240th record got truncated. Please see below screenshot.
Investigations/Analysis:
1) I tested with another query that returns 54 records; all records are displayed. Another query that returns 585; only 215 records are displayed. It seems that the number of records is not the limiting factor; the length of the tablix, or the Rectangle
(container) may possibly be the culprit.
Question:

I do have parameter defined but the "Display Test Result history" parameter only sets below behaviors:
1) If False, the Rectangle (container) becomes invisible, and the query would return no result (to increase performance)
2) If True, the Rectangle (container) becomes visible, and the query return valid results
The behavior I'm seeing right now is that the table is visible, and results are shown. However, some results are missing.

Bob, thanks for the response, perhaps you can answer my underlying question. Since I updated to the latest version of ID I can't export to digital editions. I can manually select a script which brings up export to dreamweaver, but not digital editions. Again trashing the preferences didn't help, any ideas?

Headset Battery Never Shows Full
So now that we have a battery gauge for the Apple Bluetooth headset (Update 1.1.1), I've noticed that even right after a full charge (shown on main screen while docked) the icon only shows 1/2 to 2/3 at best and varies quite a bit over a short period of time.
Has anyone seen their gauge/icon go full scale?I was going to post, but I see your message.
I have seen the full charge but it does not last long.
Since the update I get the feeling the headset is draining faster OR not displaying the charge correctly. I was able to go about 2 days with small usage prior to 1.1.1 update.
Now after 7 hours the display showed about 1/2 drained. The main screen, large icon matched the small headset charging icon in the top right.
I just put the headset in the charger afor maybe 10 minutes and it the large icon shows full. I removed the headset from the charger and turned it back on (since when it is in the charger it is turned off) and now the small charging icon shows up and it is at the 1/2 or lower.

How do i restore my wifi setting back to the factory settings? I have changed it somehow :/ and now my wifi will not connect. My Airport is on and showing full strength but will not connect.
Ok, if other devices are connecting but just not your MacBook then let's start troubleshooting the MacBook to possibly find out why.
Please try each of the following, in order, until hopefully resolved:
Note the following are excerpts from an OS X Daily article.
* Turn Airport on & off – You can do this via the Airport menu bar or from the Network Preferences. This is the first thing you should try when troubleshooting Mac wireless problems.
* Make sure Wireless/Airport card software & firmware is up to date – This is usually done just by going to the Software Update menu, if there are any updates available for your Mac or Airport, install them.
* Delete and recreate connection – Try deleting and recreating/reestablishing the wireless connection, sometimes a setting can be corrupted and this may fix it.
* Create a new Network Location – Similar to the above suggestion, try creating a new and different wireless network location to see if it resolves the connection problems.
* Change DHCP auto settings to manual – sometimes there is a problem with the DHCP server, and if you manually set an IP address on the network you can be fine. Remember to set the IP to a high number so it wouldn’t interfere with other DHCP machines. As long as you have the subnet mask, router, and DNS settings configured manually as well, this shouldn’t be a problem.
* Flush the DNS cache – Launch the Terminal and enter the following command onto one full line within the Terminal: dscacheutil -flushcache
* Zap the PRAM – Reboot your Mac and hold Command+Option+P+R during restart until you hear another chime, let the Mac boot as usual.
* Delete Wireless Config files – Delete com.apple.internetconfigpriv.plist and com.apple.internetconfig.plist files from ~/Library/Preferences and reboot
* Trash your home directories SystemConfiguration – Remove all files within ~/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/ and then reboot your Mac.
* Reset your Mac’s System Management Controller (SMC) – For MacBook and MacBook Pro’s: Shutdown the MacBook/Pro, remove the battery, disconnect the power, hold the Power Key for 15 seconds. Replace the battery, reconnect power, and zap the PRAM and wait for 2 chimes before letting the keys go. Let boot as usual. -

There is no setting for this.. Try Updating / Re-installing the firmware..

How to show full name of user in crystal report
Hi. I am using Crystal Report 2008. I need to show full name (first name and last name) of the user logged in. Currently I am using "currentceusername" but it shows the user id that a user uses to login.

Not you H4... Can I suggest if someone replies to actually add something of value!!!!
Cr does not have the ability to query your AD Server. What you would have to do is use a AD query tool or Export Option and export the user info from the log on ID into a Excel or an Access table or something CR could report off of. Then you can add a subreport to get the name from the ID and insert it into the main report.
Check with your IT department, they should have tools to get the info. I'm not sure if there is a DB connector that would allow you to query the AD server directly but if there is one and it supports ODBC then you can use that as your subreport Data connection.
Typically names do not change that often so rather than running the Query every time the report is generated it would be better to export the info to a text type file and simply use it for your report. IT can put a rule on to export if the Names change.

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

It appears that my iPhone 5 has a wifi signal reception issue. I only show one bar on the wifi signal meter even when I an next to the router. Both my Macbook Air and my iPad2 show full wifi signals at the same time. Rebooting the Apple router and each device results in the same meter readings.
Does this occur with any Wi-Fi connection? Or only a specific one?
If it occurs with any Wi-Fi connection, take it to Apple.
If it is only occurring with a specific Wi-Fi connection, it is an issue with that Wi-Fi connection.
Try the following, it may help:
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Forget the Wi-Fi connection on the iPhone then reconnect.
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). -
How do I play iTunes TV shows full screen on a connected display?
I have connected my HDTV via DVI to HDMI cable and I want to play the TV shows I've dowloaded FULL SCREEN ON THE TV. When I selected full screen, it defaults to playing the show full screen on my macbook and not my TV. I just want to change it so that full screen happens on the TV, not the macbook. HELP!
You can mirror the displays as you said or just drag the iTunes window to the second display (TV). Then it will play in full screen only on the TV, however your computer screen will go black. Either way you will have no access to your iTunes controls.
If you want to use your computer while it is playing full screen on the TV, then use QuickTime Pro (not in mirror mode) and choose Present Movie, then click on the display you want it on (TV). -
It shows full connectivity (three lines) but when I go to the app store...it just loads and loads and loads...My other devices (iPhone 4s, macBook and PC/Laptop) connect fine. I talked to apple for an hour...no solution. I talked to my Internet service provider for an hour..no solution. I tried to contact my router manufacturer but it is rather old and linksys no long provides support for this model. I reset the router factory settings. I reset the iPod from new as well as a back up. The iPod is brand new...two days old. Nothing works. My next step is to purchase a new router. Can anyone out there help?

Three songs out of 20 on album failed to download properly on my PC (windows XP) when connection was interrupted. Screen appeared prompting me to download incomplete songs. I did so, but three of the songs only play a few seconds even though they show full track times (ie 4:23). When I look to download the album or tracks again the messasge say all content has been downloaded. I downloaded entire album to my IPAD and it play fine. How can I repair the album on my PC? If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
