10.8.4 broke Exchange connectivity.

Since applying the 10.8.4 update, one of my clients' MacBooks has been unable to update Calendar entries. There was just an alert icon in the Calendars sidebar. Mail worked normally. I didn't check Notes or Contacts.
I tried removing the Exchange account from System Preferences (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and Notes), and re-added it. Huge mistake. Calendar is still doing the same thing, and now Mail is not updating at all! New emails are showing up, and mail sends and receives, but old ones will not appear at all.
My client's other interfaces (iPhone with iOS 6 and a PC with Outlook 2013) are unaffected.
Their server has Exchange Server 2010 SP2, not sure which Update Rollup.

Can you try to manually set the exchange server settings?
Calendar->Prefferences->Acoounts->select the Exchange one and edit the "automaticaaly found" Exchange setting. sometimes it will find the owa.domain.com where you have to put exchange.domain.local (of the local domain = public domain.
In Mail you have a tickbox to override, in Calendar you do not, you can set it yourself but it will inittially pick the found one.

RPC over HHTP as a better way for Outlook client to connect to Exchange. The MAPI connections still use RPCs, but they encapsulate those with an HTTP connection. Since that HTTP connection is secured using SSL, it is may be
more accurate to call it RPC over HTTPS. These connections only require connectivity
over TCP port 443, which as you know is assigned to HTTPS and is normally open by
firewall admin for web servers.
Outlook Anywhere wraps
Remote Procedure Calls inside an HTTP layer to allow connectivity with the Exchange server. This simplifies the firewall administration process requiring only
the SSL port 443 to be opened to the CAS (Client Access Server) instead of several ports to the actual Mailbox Server (MBX).

Can the broker-to-broker cluster connections be configured to use an HTTP proxy like a client?
I have a question about broker clustering configurations.
Page 59 of the Admin guide mentions using a cluster to deal with
firewall restrictions. Can the broker-to-broker cluster connections
be configured to use an HTTP proxy like a client? Or if you have
two brokers in a cluster separated by a firewall(s), must you open the
firewall to allow them to communicate directly, no proxies allowed?

Currently iMQ (2.0) does not support HTTP between brokers. Therefore you
need to open firewall to allow broker to broker communication if they
are separated by firewall.

I could really use some help on Microsoft Exchange Connectivity Architecture based on CDO. The documentation I have followed can be found here: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/c9/b9182b06af714c89d7d39c76af22a1/frameset.htm.
Generally I have followed the documentation as much as possible, though the following two pieces of information might be the root cause to my agony:
1) The key HKEY_USERS.DefaultSoftwareMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersion Windows Messaging SubsystemProfiles from http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/43/5df14ef76130b4e10000000a11466f/frameset.htm cannot be found on the computer where I have my IIS installed (the IIS is installed on the portal server which resides in the same domain as the exchange server). How come this key is not present and what does it represent?
2) The version of CDO.dll on the IIS (portal server) is 1.2.1s (6.5.7233.48) and is installed together with Outlook 2003. The version of CDO.dll on the Exchange Server is 1.2.1 (6.5.7651.61) and is installed together with Exchange 2003 SP2. This might also be a issue?
I have read that there are potential problems with the 1.2.1s in a certain note, but the errors described in that note did not correspond to the one I'm getting.
The portal is running NW04s SPS 10.
When I use the test-tool (SAPPXchTest.exe) I get the following error in the log:
The information store could not be opened. [MAPI 1.0 - ]

Yes, I did manage to solve this problem.
It was because the Exhange Server should be set up as the domain controller as well. This setup raises a lot of security issues though, which Im consulting SAP about at the moment.

Latest (10-15-2010) Windows XP Updates Broke Access Connections

System: T60p with XP Pro SP3 updated with the latest patches from MSFT and Lenovo.
Couple of days ago Microsoft pushed a big pack of updates (According to Add/Remove Programs:
2345043, 2344875, 2362765, 2360131, 2279986, 2360937, 2387149, 971513, 979687, 2345886, 981957, 982132, 2378111, 2296011 but I think there were more) which broke Access Connections.
I get "Application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005)" - displayed TWICE for each attempted launch of ACWLIcon.exe.
Running Access Connections Application from the start menu also fails.
I updated to the latest available version 5.07.0002.0028 but the problem remains.
Can you investigate and release a patch? In the meanwhile, do you think I should uninstall it?

Cannot install the Microsoft Exchange connectivity analysis tool

I am troubleshooting our new 2013 Exchange server because Outlook client cannot connect but OWA is working fine. The 2 new 2013 Exchange server as DAG were installed to co-exist with Exchange 2007.
I am trying to download and install Microsoft Exchange connectivity analysis tool BUT always got an error "Error attempting to install the Microsoft Exchange connectivity analysis tool" and in the log the error is "URLDownloadToCacheFile
failed with HRESULT '-2146697208'.
I am installing it in Windows 8 64b, Please help as we are troubleshooting the new Exchange without any success so far...If there is an full download link, please provide.

Did you try to use different browser to check if the issue persist?
This issue was occurred on browser. If you IE with this issue, we should check to clear the option "Warn if changing between secure and not secure mode" from your Internet Explorer(IE) Tools--Internet Options--- Advanced--Security.
If the setup URL of the ClickOnce application being installed is redirected from a non-secure to a secure site (or vice-versa), the installation would fail due to the Internet Explorer warning. Therefore, please make sure to remove the redirection completely
and point to the actual setup URL.
If the issue persists, we could perform Windows Update to install updates and then run the Desktop configuration again.

Exchange connection suddenly stopped to work

Please help - I'm in deep s...t
Today morning, out of the sudden Exchange connection stopped to work. All I see is "Cannot Get Mail. The connection to the server failed" message immediately after I go to my mailbox. The problem came out today morning, the last message I received is from 12:37 and that is reflected in Exchange logs. Here are some crucial points:
1. Exchange connection works on my Mac, my PC, my friend's iPhone, etc. The problem occurs only on that particular iPhone
2. I've asked administrator to restart all the exchange services and the whole server - no improvement, also my iphone was restarted couple of times
3. The message appears the same time I go to the mailbox, no connection try, no timeout, no visible action. There are no traces of connection try on the server side
4. I deleted that account from the iphone and added again - when I typed in server name, domain, username and password, upon verification I got all ticks meaning that connection and credentials are OK
What should I do? I got huge problem, because as the result of below, I do not have mailbox access, no calendar, but the worst is that I've lost my contacts as well, and that is **** of the problem.
Any help, suggestions appreciated.

How can I add an Exchange connected mailbox to Mail

The add a new mailbox connected to the one I usually use in Exchange. On my office PC is not a problem: Settings - Advanced - Add an additional mailbox.
Can I do the same in Mail?
Mac OS 10.9 and iOS 7.04.

I am replying to my own post as I found a solution!!
Mail > Preferences > Accounts then add in your email address and password and mail does the rest, finds the exchange server and sorts it out - much easier than setting it up in Outlook!

I had been getting a the dreaded "Cannot Get Mail - The connection to the
server failed" error on my first generation iPhone (firmware version 2.1) when syncing e-mail with an Exchange server. After many troubleshooting steps I found the problem was the size of the inbox (9K messages). After archiving older messages into folders the iPhone could again sync.

I have used /Nokia E71 with latest MfE, i got my details from my Employers Microsoft outlook 2007 like exchnage server, domain and user name.
I just want to synchronise E-mails, whenever i try to synchronise i get "Connection Error. try Later".
Please help me , i am just stuck on that,

Try following the below steps and let me know if we still have the problem.
Choose Yes to create a profile.
Enter these items
E-mail address - e-mail address of your exchange server
Domain - Domain name of your exchange server - Your Exchange Administrator can provide this information
Username - Domain username
Password - email password
Access point - choose the connection you are using. Most likely this is your data plan cellular connection
The Exchange Server will be discovered and populated for you automatically in most cases. If the Exchange server is not discovered, select the Exchange Server field and enter your server information given to you by your email administrator.
Verify the Secure connection is set to Yes. Change to No only if your Exchange Administrator dictates the change. The wrong value will make the connection fail.
Press Options
Select Save
From here you can verify if all is setup correctly by watching the Current status.
Press Options
Select Exit

Syncing Gmail as Exchange connection broken

Just upgraded two iPhone 3GS's to iOS 4 and the Exchange synced accounts for Gmail quit working. I get an error "Connection to the server failed."
These are accounts that have been working forever under iPhone OS 3.x. I'm also seeing other people reporting the same problem via Twitter.
I can work around the problem by using the Gmail connection but I can't sync contacts with that one. I need my contacts back....

Same problem, I upgraded my 3GS this afternoon. I deleted the account, tried to add, but again could not connect. However, I tried again and was eventually succesfull. However, it does not look like gmail is "pushing". Also, if I manually "fetch", the header is downloaded immediately, but it takes a while before the body is downloaded. Many of my e-mails I can't get the body to disply at all.

Addition of Exchange 2013 server to Exchange 2010 organization broke Exchange

This is somewhat of an emergency, since Exchange is down completely for us right now.
I just migrated from SBS2003 to Exchange 2010 on Windows 2012 over last weekend. Everything is now stable, and SBS2003 is shut down. Now I am attempting to migrate from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013.
The plan was this:
Install Exchange 2013 on another server (Windows 2008R2)
Wait until everything is replicated
Remove the Exchange 2010 server from the organization
Uninstall Exchange 2010
Install Exchange 2013 on the Windows 2012 server
Wait until everything is replicated
Remove Exchange 2013 from the Windows 2008R2 server
But here is what actually happened:
Installed all Exchange 2013 prerequisites on the Windows 2008R2 server
Began Exchange 2013 server setup on the Windows 2008R2 server. Included both Mailbox & CAS roles
At step 11 of 15 (not sure what that was, though), received this error message:
Error: The following error was generated when "$error.Clear();
netsh advfirewall firewall set rule group="windows management instrumentation (wmi)" new enable=yes
" was run: "The term 'netsh' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program. Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct
and try again.".
And setup halted. I ran the netsh command via the command prompt, and it correctly said something about four rules being created or updated (not sure of exact verbiage). Now, when I try to restart setup, it says it is in the middle and will try to complete
but stays at 0%. But here is the most immediate issue:
Now I cannot access e-mail from any workstations (says Exchange server is unavailable)
Opening EMC on the Exchange 2010 server: I get as far as Microsoft Exchange -> Microsoft Exchange On-Premises and get this error:
The attempt to connect to http://[Exchange 2010 FQDN]/PowerShell using "Kerberos authentication failed: Processing data from remote server [Exchange 2010 FQDN] failed with the following error message:
Couldn't find Enterprise Organizaiton container. (Note that it refers to the local server as remote server)
I get an event 7031 on the Exchange 2010 server: The Microsoft Exchange Service Host service terminated unexpectedly
Opening the Exchange Management Shell on the Exchange 2010 server yields the same message regarding "Couldn't find the Enterprise Organization container..."
It also says, "Connecting to [Exchange 2013 server FQDN], then says connected to that server. Opening EMS on the Exchange 2013 server seems to connect correctly to the Exchange 2013 server, but there is no EM Console available there.
At this point, I am lost. I will continue to research this online but may have to call Microsoft soon, since we are entirely down at the moment. Any help is much appreciated!

All of the above, I believe. And E2003 is on the DC (and functioning just fine); E2012 on a member server (this is a very small environment--they have only the DC, a DB2 database server, and a lightly-used and old terminal server). I just spent 12 hours
on the phone with MS support on this issue, and it has now come down to this: the Exchange 2013 installation will not run to completion. It has failed repeatedly at a few points today, all related to the shell being unable to access Windows EXEs or environment
variables with variations on this error:
"...not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program..." for each of these:
netsh (windows exe)
sc.exe (windows exe)
hostname (windows command that returns workstation name)
These all work from the command prompt. I am currently stuck on sc.exe failing on each attempt to install Exchange 2013 or Exchange 2013 SP1. Nor can I just remove it--it insists on attempting to proceed with installation even with the manual command-line
argument to remove it instead.
At this point, I am awaiting a night call back from Microsoft support, since the technician that worked on it with me for 12 hours today had to go home.

Connection Broker lost connection to network and domain

I have managed to configure and install RDS Windows 2008 R2 Farm with 3 Remote session hosts and one connection broker .One of the session host servers is also the connection broker. All
connected to my domain and so on.<o:p></o:p>
It seems to work fine until all of a sudden, with no alerting, the server become inaccessible and would not accept any connections. When I log on to the server using KVM (Physical access with
monitor and keyboard) , it seems that the serer function extremely slow ! <o:p></o:p>
Moreover, when I try to ping another server in the same domain a get "destination unreachable".
When I look at the services status, I notice that remote desktop management service is down. When I try to start the service I get the error: "Windows could not start the RemoteApp and desktop connection management service on local computer.<o:p></o:p>
Error 0x800706fd: the trusted relationship between the workstation and the domain failed."<o:p></o:p>
Only after brutal shutdown of the whole server it becomes stable again and accepts connection and function properly untill next time.
I have already tried to replace the cable connected to the switch ,the port and the network card but no luck. ( all other servers are onnected to the same switch so I assume there
is no problem with the switch )
The server can function properly for 2 days and suddenly ( apparently something happens )
and then it became slow and lose the connection to the domain and/or network.<o:p></o:p>
Please advise ASAP this is my connection broker server of my RDS Farm.<o:p></o:p>

BIS on Curve with Exchange, connect fail :(

Here the problem: Actually i have a BIS on a Blackberry Curve, I have all the parameters, I can connect on my exchange under Internet Explorer or others with the HTTPS format (and not HTTP) but when i configure my blackberry in Microsoft® Outlook Web Access mode, he can't connect that said host not found, can't verifiy your account etc.... somebody have an idea ?

What you've said so far is that "it didn't work", but you didn't reveal exactly what, of the multiple recommendations in this thread, you actually attempted...and the specific results of each attempt (rather than the simple "it didn't work") are always more helpful of course.

That indeed is quite interesting! I've never heard of any direct connection between a BB and an Exchange Server. (I'm not at all sure how such could even be possible...unless, of course, the POP/IMAP/OWA services are hosted on that same physical server, which is of course not recommended.) Indeed, if your Exchange Server is directly facing the internet, then you really should talk to your enterprise security folks...that's a very a-typical configuration indeed!
