10.8.5 update options...

I have waited to update from 10.8.4 because of all the reported bugs - now I see that there is a supplement addressing them. I would like to hear opinions as to whether I should update from the app store app or from Apple's site - and if it would best to start with the combo update or the single step. Thank you.

The combo update, which has been updated to include the supplemental update, is probably your best option as it can fix some files that may be partially corrupted.

Adobe Bridge CS4 pops error when Update Option from Help is launched

Hi All,
when i m trying to Launch the Update from the help menu of Adobe Bridge it pops-up with a error messge instead of launching update.
The error says
Adobe Bridge
Bridge is not in a position to check for updates.
The cause of the error may lie in the fact that an Internet connection can be established or that you are logged in as a user without administrator privileges.

Please help what is the probable cause for this.
I have tried disabling the updateoption by
1) Adding the Enterprise DWORD value in registry HKLM\Software\Adobe\Updater
2) Adding the "Update" "Suppress" value in "Application.XML.Override" file while installing the CS4 Suite

Apologies I dont think I had made myself clear.
I am trying to package Adobe Photoshop CS4 which has Adobe Bridge as a component. As per the company standards, I am suppossed to be deploying this package & installing it using silent setup. Since this is a corporate environment, they do not want any auto updates to be enabled, as well as disable all menu items related to updates. Hence I had checked through the Adobe Support Site and followed the instructions provided by using the Adobe Deployment Toolkit and supressed the updates using the tool.
Inspite of following the steps mentioned in the Deployment Kit and the guides associated with it, I was unable to supress the Updates options that reflects under Help Menu for Adobe Bridge CS4. All the other associated programs like photoshop, Extend Scripts etc the updates are disabled. The problem seems to be only with the Adobe Bridge Update.

I believe the issue is with the Apple ID that was used to purchase the App. If you download an App that was purchased under a different Appple ID then all updates will also be linked to the original purchaser's Apple ID. Your Apple ID is the the same ID as your iTunes, iCloud, etc. Some folks use different ID for the different Apple sites. No need for that One ID for all Apple Sites, and if someone else buys an App using their ID and they(you) download that App onto your device and that App requires an update it will ask for the purchasers Apple ID. This happens a lot when folks sell their iPad or give it to someone else and leave some purchased(free) Apps on the iOS device. You cannot change the original ID the App was purchased under. A suggestion would be if someone else has an App that you like but do not want to pay for use their ID or in the future have them gift the App to you.

I am planning to update several adobe reader installations over a windows domain. First of all, I tried to do it in one particular machine without administrative privileges (not being Local Administrator).
I am surprised of not finding the "Check for updates" option. What is more, there is no topic in the forums about this issue (?).
Please, could anyone tell me what am I missing?

Yes I'm afraid that update must be run with administrative privileges... But there must be another way of updating a product across a network of 400+ clients without login in all of them ...

I need to update to 7.0, from 5.1 on iPad 2, so that I can use all functions and download apps.....,but there's no option to update beyond 5.1 and says it's updated. Help!!!!

If it does not have a camera, then its a First generation iPad, and it cannot be updated past iOS 5.1.1.
If it does have a camera then it can be update to iOS 7.1.2. However, if there is no Software Update Option in Settings, you will need to connect the iPad to a computer running iTunes and update through there.

I have started this way ,but doesn't know how to fully implement this .

Here are a few suggestions, but you definitely need to refer to the manual page that the previous poster suggested.
CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER DepartmentTrigger
AFTER INSERT Or Update ON Dept
BEGIN
INSERT INTO mytable VALUES(:new.Dept,'DEPT ADDED OR CHANGED');
END DepartmentTrigger;
The "Or Replace" means you can replace the trigger while you're developing without having to type in a drop statement every time. Just change and rerun your script, over and over until you get it right.
Adding "Or Update" or "Or Delete" makes the trigger fire for those events too. Note, you may want seperate triggers in different scripts and with different names for each event. You have to decide if your design really does the same thing whether it's an insert or an update.
:new.Dept is how you would refer to the changed vale of the Dept column (:old.Dept is the prior value). I changed the double quotes on the string in the VALUES clause to single quotes.

CS6 Photoshop Update Option Does Not Run

I ran the Update option once, mainly to get the ACR 8.2 version. It looked like all the files downloaded successfully and that the update process started. Then nothing.
- Clicking Update has no effect. There are absolutely no error messages.
- Downloading the ACR 8.2 file and trying to run the AdobePatchInstaller.exe file does nothing.
- Removing the Adobe Application Manager (AAM) Cache accomplished nothing.
- Trying to run the AAM does nothing.
A popup message just informed me that there are 9 Adobe updates available and to launch AAM. Which, of course, accomplishes nothing.
A support person on Live Chat said this is a known issue.
What I need is a known solution. I'm running Win7 Pro, SP1, 64-bit, 8Gb RAM, GeForce GT 630 Nvidia chipset graphics card.

However, it will not download from the "Update" option in CS6. I have tried over 10 times - it just says update is not working. and I cannot find an alternate way of downloading this file. So I still can use my camera, even thought I paid to upgrade. HELP please.

What OS do you have? You say you have explained what you had (computer/opsys) but I honestly don't see it here. If you had mentioned that my advice would have been different; I believe you can only upgrade as far as Camera Raw 8.3 on an older Windows system. There is more information here (look specifically for the "Revert to 8.3 ..." titles).

What you've done/written in your last post confuses things further, unfortunately. Photoshop 13.1 is strictly a Creative Cloud version. The highest you can go is Photoshop CS6 13.0.1.3 with perpetual license.
And as far as I can recall, that version can work on Windows back to XP:

I don't think you're out of luck, but you seem to be leaping into doing things without having the full story, and are jumping to conclusions a bit too quickly.
Here's what I suggest you try:
1. Remove Photoshop entirely with the Creative Suite Removal Tool:
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
2. Install Photoshop CS6 from your original media or from here:
Download CS6 products
3. Update the application using its own Help - Updates process. That really should get you the latest Camera Raw version that will work. If that does not bring you a Camera Raw that works with your Nikon, use the "Revert to 8.3" instructions above.
