10.9.4 is not always remembering open windows on startup

Have a Macbook Pro running Mavericks 10.9.4. It is not always remembering open windows on startup even though I always the check the box to do so when I shutdown. Anyone else having this problem?

The MiniDisc Recorder is not compatible with Windows 7 Operating System (OS) as these devices were released prior to the release of Windows 7 OS.

I have Vista. Sometimes, not always, when opening Itunes there are no songs.

Itune version: 10.3.1.55
Sometimes, not always, when I open Itunes there are no songs.
Copy, recuperaton, find sings etc nothing has worked. It still disapears sometimes when I open it.
The .itl file appears to be missing in my usual library but there is one in another. That one does not contain many songs and is linked to my childs Ipod.
I have search the net for changing libraries and help that seems to sort out problems like this but nothing has solved it.
What to do?

Oracle 10g form not always running in windows 7

hello all of you experts , the query which I am going to post here is very annoying for me but it there might be a simple solution to my problem. I have installed oracle developer 10g on windows 7. Changed the formsweb.cfg file so that it uses java plug in rather than jinitiator I have installed the JRE version 6, now the problem is that when i try to run a form sometimes it runs properly but sometimes the browser window becomes blank and the form is not visible in it and yes the splash screen which shows the name of application server stays there on the screen. the problem is in internet explorer, mozilla and chrome as well didn't check on any other browser. Please help me out i would be grateful to you guys out there. Just to let you know that this annoying behavior is not always there, i dont know why some forms do run properly but some of them dont.

That is actually not an uncommon symptom for any Windows platform. However, I will say that if you are running on Windows 7, it should be Win7-32bit and you should have installed the 10.1.2.3 patch set. Anything else would not be considered certified by Oracle and therefore not supported. The details on how to properly install Forms/Reports 10.1.2 on Win7 are outlined in MyOracleSupport note 1292919.1
Assuming you covered all that, with Dev Suite this often happens when you have abandoned a process previously then tried to start another before the first has been terminated. In other words, next time you have this happen close ALL open browser windows then open the Windows task manager. Look for any orphaned frmweb.exe processes and kill them. Now go back and try starting a form. It should work now.
It is never a good idea to terminate a running form by closing the browser. It is important that you close the form first (e.g. using the Exit button in the form) then close the browser. Closing the browser while a form is running can cause runtime processes to become orphaned. Generally these will be cleaned up when FORMS_TIMEOUT is reached (usually 15 minutes), but the point is that you have prevented a clean shutdown from occurring. So always make a best effort attempt at closing the form properly. End-users should be encouraged to do the same when the application is put into production.

Command Tab not pulling up open windows from Dock

Sorry if this is covered elsewhere, though I have looked:
Using Command-Tab to invoke Application Switch is very helpful. However I have an issue with iCal and with AddressBook sometimes. If they have an open window, minimised to the dock, it does not jump up on switching. Other apps do; just switching with command-tab to that app pulls up the most recent window. With iCal/AddressBook, it switches to the app; but the window remains in the dock and needs a click before it jumps up. Which kind of negates the app-switch in the first place, if you need to follow through with a mouse-click as well.

I believe that behavior can be attributed to any application with one minimized window. I get around that limitation by using the Hide feature. For example, just use the Address Book>Hide Address Book (⌘+H) command instead of Minimize (⌘+M). Using Apple + Tab will then open the Address Book application window as you would expect.
You can use the Keyboard to access a minimized window, but it is not convenient. (Control + F3) will give you access to the Dock. Then use the arrow keys to navigate to the Dock icon of your choice and hit enter. That action will open the application or window of your choice. Esc will cancel the keyboard action.

Not Capturing All Open Windows

When recording and a new window is open (within the same app

Hit "Prt Scr" (or whatever key you re-mapped it to) while
recording to manually capture the extra snapshots. That's the only
way to capture things like mouser-over text and other
non-event-driven changes.
The alternative is to use F9/F10 to start and stop full
motion recording when you know there's going to be a whole sequence
of automatic changes and screen updates happening between mouse
and/or key presses.

Safari history will not clear with open windows

I clear my history on Safari but I found the history doesn't really clear if i have other open windows in safari. Everything in the history bar disappears but when you type in URL in a new window, it will predict from a history that should be erased. I do have a workaround.....I have to close all safari windows, clear history, and that gets everything. I would like to not have to close all windows. This just started happening a month or so ago after I upgraded. Any plans to fix this?

The reason you have a clear history button is so history will be cleared It is not clearing if other windows are open.
Correct. It does not clear if other windows are open. This is how all browsers work.
No other browser works that way.
IE 7.06 tells you you have to close the browser after deleting the history to finish removing the history.

Image.getScaledInstance() does not always work under Windows Vista

I've run into some intermittent image scaling problems under Windows Vista (minus Aero effects) that I never experienced with the same program, same image(s), running same Java version under XP. The images I'm using are all JPEGs, and the problem appears to affect approx 1 out of 3 grayscale images (no color ones so far) w/o respect to size (ie: small ones can be problems while larger ones will work). Java -version shows 1.6.0_02-b06. I was wondering if anyone else out there has seen this, or can point out what I may be doing wrong. Sample code to duplicate follows.

That does indeed appear to be a bug. I looks like it's having problems with the alpha value in the color model, so a possible workaround would be to change the color model the image uses before scaling. This may entail creating a new BufferedImage and drawing the old image into it.

Open window at startup

Hello,
I've recently updated the flash on my imac, and now every time I start my computer, the flash folder is always open. I've tried deleting the file .. uninstalling and reinstalling, but no matter what with every start, there is the same open window. I've searched and searched for a resolution to this to no avail. Thanks for your help.

What I meant by flash was a recent adobe update ... I'm assuming what I downloaded was a disk image of the file. After it was downloaded, I opened it and installed the update.
What happens now, is every time I log into my computer, the same 'window' with the adobe update in it is open. When I click on the file on the desktop, the trash icon at the bottom right turns into the eject symbol, and when I place the adobe update into it, it disappears. But the next time that I start my mac, the file will be back, and the same window will be open again.
I'm of course talking about os X, not ms windows. I tried getting into the accounts page and deleting the items listed for startup, but unless i'm not understanding you correctly, that did not solve the problem either. Thanks for your help

Firefox does not always remember custom history settings

I use custom history settings. I uncheck Accept cookies from sites (and then use the Cookie Monster add-on to manage cookies). Occasionally I find that the preference has returned to Remember History. I can detect no pattern to when this happens. It usually happens during a session (ie I have not shut Firefox down). It is possible that it happens after the computer has been in sleep mode, but it certain does not happen whenever it is put in sleep mode. Sometimes there may be a couple of weeks between incidents. As I only become aware of it by paying close attention to what Cookie Monster is reporting as the default cookie setting, I am never sure exactly how long it has been before I notice it, though I try to pay attention nowadays.

Not able to open Windows Media Player files with Quicktime Pro

Hi,
I have recently downloaded a couple of videos that I am planning to use in FCP. The file extension of the downloaded videos is .asf and I am able to play them with Windows Media Player. However, to use them in FCP I have to convert them into Quicktime format. I have Quicktime Pro version 7.0.4 and I was told that I should be able to open the files in Quicktime therefore automatically converting them into quicktime files. It's not working and I am completely out of options and ideas.
Please help if you ever had that problem.

As I understand it M$ is providing additional distribution as a sort of "seal of approval."
Don't forget WMV/WMA is a proprietary codec from M$ and involves licensing. In that sense they're providing resources. Apparently the Flip4Mac folks are actually building it themselves though.
Think of it as being in the construction business and you're required to buy the lumber from only one source but you still have to build the house yourself.
I've just got done downloading the newer version and
I hope for improvements.

I am not able to open Windows 7 in Mac Book Pro

i installed windows 7 ultimate via boot camp.
its a clean install and it worked fine, but after shutdown and opened again(where i was pressing that option button) only mac boot came.. i am not able to see my windows boot.
I even went in mac , system preferences and changed the start up disk to Boot Camp .
And when i restart, its saying no bootable device Found.
Please help Me !

Substituted Drive Not Always Visible in Windows Explorer

We have a 2008 server with terminal services enabled and the login script is used to subst I: to a folder on a local hard disk eg. SUBST I: D:\FOLDER
When the domain administrator is logged in via an RDP session they have an entry for I: shown in windows explorer. If a user logs in while the domain administrator is logged in they also see I: in explorer but if a user logs in when the administrator is not logged in they don't. Attempts to access I: from the command line are always successful and the substitution can be seen by typing SUBST at the command line.
Any idea what's going on?

I would suggest that in your case it is eather a bug or a coincidence with other applications or permission sets.
I have had the same setup in couple of environments and I have not had such a problem. The subst was
excetud from logon scripts and it worked.
I would suggest you to use Process Monitor from Sysinternals:

and run it when the users have the issue of not being able to access the I: drive.
Look for regestry and fily system access denied entier and you will come to the resolution.
I guess for someone else it would be difficult to reproduce this issue.

What is WebKit2WebProcess.exe *32? It is making my laptop slow and will not let me open Windows Works. (172,760 K in memory usage)

I installed Safari 5.1 and this [email protected] *32 is running up some memory, just a couple a moments ago up to 192,363 K of memory. I can't open Microsoft Works documents, it will not let me change a file destination. What does it do? Do I need it? Should I uninstall safari 5.1?

We have created a folder with mkdir() function. The folder has some
text and doc files and i want to open them using java runtime API.
I am unable to open the files using the syntax

This code works perfectly for folders created directly in Win XP without using

First off you're missing a quote (add '+ "\"" after file.getPath()). But the larger problem is that this will attempt to execute these files and they aren't directly executable (you said they're text and document files). Do you really want to execute them?
If you just want to read them then something like
BufferedReader ir = new BufferedReader(new FileReader(file))
would be more appropriate.
