10 Digits DialPlan Design

Hello All,
My company is migrating from a dianplan of 4 digits to 10 digits. The idea is to keep the calls intra-site with 4 digits and calls inter-site with 10 digits.
The question is do I change the extensions numbers on CUCM to 10 digits and add a translation rule on the Gateway to prefix the digits when a incoming call arrives, that way send the 10 digits number to CUCM and add a translation in CUCM that when a 4 digits call is made prefix the 6 remaing.
or
Continue to use 4 digits on callmanager directory number configuration and add a external number mask, that way calls intra-site continue to use the 4 digits and there is no need of translations for that....
Just add a translation on the CUCM for outgoing calls in another site but in the same cluster (remove the first 6 digits)  and another translation for incoming calls from another cluster.
What do you think is best?

Raf,
Internally, external phone number mask will not accomplish this.
Calling party transformations will do this and as you will used translation patterns for intersite calls ,
make sure you set the calling party transformation mask to send out 10 digits, do this by populating the "prefix digits (outgoing calls)" in the calling party transformations in the translation pattern. In your case you will prefix 6 digits to make it 10 digits as the caller ID
Please also note that if you are not going change your DNs from 4 to 10 digits, and you still want a 10 digit caller ID internally, you will also need a translation patterns, just for the purpose of manipulating the caller ID from 4 to 10 digits
I hope this makes sense

  • Digital Filter Design Toolkit for LabVIEW 8.0

I need Digital Filter Design Toolkit for LabVIEW 8.0 and I cannot find it on the site.Where can I get it from?

Contact your local NI representative. He might just sent you one.

  • Install Digital filter design toolkit on labview 8

I get an error that says:
You must install labview FDS or PDS 7.1 (or later) before
running Digital Filter Design Toolkit 7.5 Setup.
I have only Labview 8.0 installed.

    Hi storeytime,
Are you running LabVIEW in evaluation mode or as Base Version, than this could be the reason why it doesn't work.
You have to activate LabVIEW as Full Development System (FDS) or Proffessional Development System (PDS) to install the DFD Toolkit.
If you have allready activated LabVIEW as FDS or PDS you need to start it once to get the registry updatet, then the installation of the Toolkit should be possible.

  • How to interpret the Coefficient Report from the FXP Digital Filter Design

Hi,  I tried to design a low pass IIR filter in cascaded form II. I then pass the filter into the filter structure conversion VI and then pass the filter into the FXP conversion and get the Coefficient Report.
However, I got problem understanding the report. The index of the coefficient does not correspond to the description of the Filter structures in the Labview help:
In the labview help where they describe the filter structures, the coefficients have two indices, one for the stage, and the other for intra stage.
In contrast, the report only gives out coefficients with one indicices.
My question is: how to map the coefficients to the structure.
Attached is the digital filter structures appeared in the Labview help.

    Hi David,
The following Developer Zone article discusses important concepts involved in utilizing the digital filter design toolsets. It specifically address the form in which the design coefficients are expressed.
    I hope this helps.

  • I wanted to use an online website as my digital printing/design service

Please recommend me a digital printing / design web site. Or is it really worth doing this? Or I have to seek some other alternatives.
I wanted to start my own digital/printing business like signage and banners and posters. Any advic will help me out.
    Thank you very much.

So, you want to be the middle-man in this venture?  Customer comes to you and wants a trade show banner and a large format poster, you then give an online service all the info and they a.) design the piece for you, and b.) print the pieces for you?  I'm not sure that's a very good idea.  My advice would be look for a brick and mortar location where you can setup your own operation ( i.e., design and printing ).  I know, this is no small task, so start out small with one workstation and one large format printer.  If you, further on down the road, wanted to get adventuresome, then you could build an eCommerce site where customers can go to your site for design and printing.  The problem with using online design and print services are you lose control over the process and if the customer wants to make changes and still keep within the deadline, then things get shaky.  Some online services design but, then they ship the file to Taiwan for printing.  Where's the proofing process in all this?  Let's say everything goes along swimmingly, but then you take delivery of the goods and nothing is the way it should be?  My point is you want to be in control of every step in the process.  Even if you do not want to start up your own physical plant, focus on design and sub the printing to a local source where you can build a relationship and maintain consistency.  You in no way want to wait and see until you get delivery that everything went as planned.  I could be wrong, but what if I'm not?

  • Digital filter design toolkit

Me and my teacher would like to use the Labview Digital filter design toolkit. He has lot's of different CDs from Labview in his Lab. He said maybe find out if it's maybe on one of the Labview CDs we already have here The question is : Is the Labview digital filter design toolkit only on one CD, or can we find it somewhere on an other Labview CD ?

    Hello,
The DFDT is sold sperately but it could also be bundled in a Developer's Suite. Most of the time its a seperate CD. So should check to see if you have a CD for DFDT or perhaps a LabVIEW Toolkits CD.

  • Digital Media Designer Issue when loading a file?

Hi I'm experiencing an issue when I try to bring a media asset to my layout. After I loaded the file to the library I go to the Designer to create a presentation then I click on the icon "Media" beside Enterprise TV icon in order to add one of the assets from the library but it does not allow me to select the file. I could select the file from the icon Playlist.
I wonder if this is not the correct porcess.
I have to say that I just upgraded to 5.2 and I am not familiar to all the features and options.
I attached a screen shot from that window.
    Thanks

    Hi Tomas,
Yes it "works" that's what I did instead but doesn't seem to be the best practice because when I run the video in the display it show a little cut after it restarts. And also, i think it's better to use Media instead of Playlist when you want to publish images, because I noticed that the "effects" it has does not look nice at all and the images playlist looks much better and smooth when you add them as Media and assign a duration.
Anything else to get this working properly, I have tested it at my local Cisco's office and it worked fine now I upgraded my DMS to 5.2 and I am facing this issue, therefore I wonder if it is a bug or might be an installation issue or smething else related with configuration.
    Thanks!

  • Design a Filter using the Digital FIR Filter.vi

    Hello,
I was working with Digital FIR Filter.vi to create a bandstand filter.
The problem I faced is regarding the FIR Filter Specification, the Frequencies given for the Upper and Lower Pass and Stop band.
For a low pass Filter, the upper Stop Band frequency is set at 0. While the Lower Stop band frequency is set at 200.
And the Lower pass band is set at 100 while the upper pass band is set at 0.
What the lower and upper frequencies actually means? As for a low pass filter, the upper cutoff frequency must be greater than lower.
So plus tell me how does it works and what frequencies should I specify for a Bandstand Filter.
    Thanks v.much

    Hi,
Have a look at the following example: [LabVIEW Folder]\examples\Digital Filter Design\Floating-Point Filters\Conventional\Classical Filter Design.vi .This example demonstrates how to use the DFD Classical Design VI to design a lowpass, highpass, bandpass, or bandstop filter with classical design methods.
Complete the following steps to use this VI.
    1) Run the VI.
    2) Change the specifications.
    3) Observe the magnitude response and phase response. Notice that the magnitude response approximates the frequency specification and the phase response is nonlinear for IIR filters (Butterworth, Chebyshev, Inverse Chebyshev, and Elliptic).
    4) Change the Design Method to view the ripples in the passband and stopband.
    5) Observe the filter order that the VI returns automatically.
    6) Click the STOP button to stop this VI.

  • Digital magazine apps freelancing projects

    Hi,
My name is Jay. I'm a Digital apps designer for ipad and iphone. Can anybody help me find some DPS  freelancing projects? If anybody having such projects in hand please mail me : [email protected]

Yes, Adobe includes JavaScript API support for geolocation. For example, you can use these APIs in the custom library or store to determine where a reader is located and filter content based on that location. Or, you can display different content in an article depending on the user's location. The free DPS Tips app includes an example that shows the nearest seafood restaurant (DPS Tips > HTML Examples > Geolocation APIs).
See Getting Started with the geolocation API | Adobe Developer Connection.

  • How to design a stable IIR-Filter for FPGA?

Hi, I´m new to Labview for FPGA and currently trying to design a lowpass-filter (for a digital mixer, more or less). It should work with a sample-frequency of 200kHz, a passband edge frequency of 3Hz and a stopband edge frequency of 8Hz. An FIR-filter would have a too large order to be implemented, an IIR one seems more practicable. For the design of the filter I'm using the digital filter design toolkit, refering to its manual and the casestudy with analyzing, modeling, simulating and generating a fixed-point filter. Now, I have problems to get a stable filter. While the manual states to adjust the coefficents by trial and error, the designed filter never matches the floating-point reference. Does anyone have experience in creating such filters? Or a hint, how to optimize the coefficient finding process?
    Thanks in advance!
    thilo

LabVIEW FPGA 8.20 does include a Butterworth filter function (1st, 2nd and 4th order) in the FPGA palette. You can configure it directly using a dialog on your FPGA diagram. The cutoff may not be quite as sharp as you want but it could be an option for you to consider. Once you have configured the filter VI, you have the option of opening up the subVI with the code that is generated based on your filter parameters, which would allow you to further configure the code directly.
I have attached the configuration dialog with the settings you specified.

  • Digital Signage & RSS feeds

    Hi all
I'm doing some tests with Cisco Digital Signage, more specifically with the Digital Media Designer and RSS feeds.
When I create a so called Box and link a RSS Ticker to that box, I cannot change the font size. The text is to big, and only one line at a time appears. Is it possible to change the font size (and type), and to show a whole a whole item of the subscribed feed in stead of word by word (yes, if the box is not full screen, sometimes only one word at a time is visible...)?
For your info: I'm using DMM version 1.1
    Many thanks in advance.

Believe me, I understand your frustration. I don't think the DMP firmware will help. We were very frustrated with the DMD and its limitations also. I don't think you will get more than a single line of a RSS feed. Try making the box smaller see if the font size adjusts when deployed.
Truthfully this was the first iteration of the DMD so its still very clunky in its first release. In late June the 5.0 version is due to be released. I understand that there is going to be a much needed re-design of the DMM GUI and the DMD will also see some improvements. Hopefully this issue will be addressed.
FYI...We are not using the DMD at this time because of issues just like what you have described. We got very frustrated with it and gave up. We are still building Sign apps for Cisco DMPs with HTML. The DMD was just to painfull.

  • Simulating a Digital Filter using Z-Transform

    Good evening!
I have some sampled data logged in text (.lvm) format which I would like to perform off-line digital filtering to.
    I have a Z-transform of the form ( 1 + a * z^-1 )/( 1 + b * z^-1 ) to describe the behaviour for the given sampling rate.
I will use the "Read from Measurement File" to import to LabVIEW as dynamic data, I can then arrange that in an array if need be.  I am just unsure of how to implement the z-transform; are there any examples performing a similar function?
I apologise for the "can you help me?" type post but I have struggled to find information on building this.
    Any help/references appreciated!
    Peter
    Regards,
    Peter D

I used the "NI LabVIEW Digital Filter Design Toolkit" and the difference equation method to create my filter.  But I am getting some odd results when I apply my input data to the filter.
I have made some notes on the VI to what I am trying to do.
Basically trying to reduce the response time of a first-order system using filtering; the filter will cancel out the previous time constant and replace it with a new one.  I have pasted the bode plot of the system into my VI as there is no Flash on my computer to upload on here.
I am still trying to get my head around what is happening - the noise content of my real input signal could be having an adverse effect.
    [ edit : attaching the VI ]

  • DFD IIR Notch Peak Design VI

I'm trying to make a sharp notch-type digital filter to remove the 60 Hz frequency noise in my signal. The NI Digital Filter Design User Manual shows an easy and efficient way of doing it using the DFD IIR Notch Peak Design VI. I downloaded the Digital Filter Design demo to try it out. The problem is that I cannot find the Notch Peak Design VI among the demo files. Is this VI part of a library that you only get if you purchase the Digital Filter Design toolkit?
    Thanks,
    -- Ilkka L.

    Hi Ilkka,
After downloading and installing this toolkit, there are a couple of things you can try in order to determine if all the tools are indeed in place on your system or not.  One thing I'd recommend is to do a search within the Functions Palette to determine whether or not the needed VIs are there.  If the toolkit did indeed install correctly, you'll find a whole sub-directory of VIs within Functions>>Addons>>Digital Filter Design.  These VIs are what you would need in order to build a customized application or to run the included examples. This leads me to the second recommendation: If everything is in place on the system, you will find the Digital Filter Design examples under the 'Toolkits and Modules' section of the Example Finder.
Let me know how these searches turn out and we'll see what we can do from there.
