10 Gig Module compatibility cause LMS Alert

Hello dears,
In one of our customer site, Dual 6509-E switch with VSS mode working fine so far but now when they tried to connect the IBM Blade chassis to the switch using Fiber media PLRXPL-SC-SX3-C1 in IBM Blade chassis side and X2-10GB-SR in core switch side getting the below LMS alerts. Can any one help me to resolve this issue.

Hi Hook,
It could be a false alarm , you can try delete and re-add the device in DFM alone.
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.109.1.1.1.1.3.1 , you can do a direct SNMP WALK on this OID and see what
values you get.

Cp 8 responsive design module in Saba LMS displays desktop view on iPad and Android phone

I'm testing a short, four slide responsive project in Saba Enterprise Cloud 7.2 (this is the latest version of Saba). It's SCORM 1.2 and I used the Publish for Devices feature to create my zip. When I preview the module in the LMS on an iPad and Android phone, the desktop view is displayed on both devices. Has anyone successfully deployed a responsive module in Saba?

Why this 6509 module reset caused system restart?

I had a 6509 switch recycled power to its 6748-GE-TX module. I like to understand why this module reset caused the system to restart, and what this "system restart" means. Please see the syslog messages (I didn't include all messages).

The message is a bit misleading. The "system restarted" message is coming from the CFC daughter card on the module
"%SYS-CFC9-5-RESTART: System restarted -"
So the entire switch did not restart, but just the module and daughter card. Now, I'm saying that based on the provided messages. You should check the system uptime in the "show ver" and/or the reset logs stored in the NVRAM log "show log" as well.
But, as I said, if the only indication of "System restarted" was in the above syslog, then that's only referring to the CFC.

Captivate 7 - Saving data entered in a module through an LMS tool

Hello Captivate community,
I seem to be having an issue with my Captivate 7 module that I have created and been loaded into our LMS tool. To keep things brief, the following seems to happen.
1) I have included a PDF widget so that the user can print off all the information entered in the module (this works great), but if for any reason the user exits the course and go back into it, the information saved does not seem to appear and the PDF button won't print at the end...is it an indicator I have not selected? Am I doing something wrong?
2) How do I have the User Text entered throughout the module saved on the screen so that if the user goes back and forth, they don't need to re-enter the information?
I'm currently using Captivate 7, and it has caused many hours of grief trying to figure these things out!

1. Create a button in Captivate and assign a javascript call to "MyExit()"
2. Create a .js file called CourseExit.js.
3. Place the following code into that file.

I was able to set this up on the set up files on the local hard disk but so all I had to do was create a button and add the "MyExit()" code to the button, but when the next update came out it reset the hard disk files. So, I have just resorted to updating the output file as seen above.

Module status on LMS is showing as incomplete - even after the user has completed the module.

Hi Folks,
Hope you are all keeping well! I have a bit of a problem here. On a number of modules that were developed using presenter - and custom animation (including click next to continue) etc etc, the LMS is not showing the module status as complete - even AFTER the user had comleted the module and closed. This problem has been noticed only when the user uses the CLICK NEXT or click this part of the screen to continue.
When the user navigates using the presenter control buttons - to navigate the training content that is, the LMS is correctly showing as the module has been completed.
The problem I am having is that - is there any way to make presenter detect a click within a slide (user click to navigate from within a slide) and thereby register it as a valid module completion?

LMS = cornerstone on demand. It has been customised to suit the company requirements, Reporting tab is SCORM 1.2
To circumvent the issue I have changed the % view to 0% so in theory when the user launches even one slide / page - it will set it to report as status complete.
However this is not a viable solution on content critical modules....dont you think so?
Ideally I would like to get to the bottom of why a button within the module (which is able to navigate between pages) is not being able to report / set / increment the completion status counter.

How to use function module SALRT_CREATE_API to trigger alert in XI?

I have read that alert can be triggered in BPM or through a FM SALRT_CREATE_API. Now how to use this FM?
In what XI scenario I can use this FM and how?

I am not sure if any function module like SALRT_CREATE_API is used to create ALERTS.
If you want to create alerts, just check this blog,

Next , after you have done this to test your configuration,
go to T code - SE38.
In the program , type RSALERTTEST and then click on EXECUTE button ( F8 ). In the next window, it will ask you for your ALERTCATEGORY. Just give the name of your ALERT CATEGORY and click EXECUTE.
If you have configured your alerts correctly, you will receive a message that tells ALERT IS GENERATED and will give the ALERT ID.
Now, go to your Run TIme workbench and then select ALERT INBOX and see if you have got the ALERT message in your ALERT INBOX.
Finally if you are on SP14 or above , check this note 913858
and if below SP14, just check this blog,

Module interacting with LMS incorrectly

Can anyone help me with my following issue.
My LMS software requires no intercation from captivate 5 module and only reports on the score.
I have set this in the scorm settings to report scores only and pass/fail etc but when the module is completed the user is recorded is a fail.
The scoring is also recorded in the attempts on how many questions the user has completed instead of how many time the module has been completed (i.e. if there are 5 questions in a module and the users had completed the twice, it shows the user as 10 attempts instead of two).
Any ideas on how to solve this will be very much appreciated as I am sure I have one of the settings set incorrectly.

The LMS software built by a company that we are using for our LMS solutions so I have a meeting tomorrow to find out about there specs.
My scorm settings are as follows;
With regards to finishing the module, how do chaging the settings to close as option to Exit is not availble on the list. I will find out tomorrow with the reqiuements are but it will be very intresting to find.

LMS alert

I am seeing this error message coming from our core VSS pair's (at different sites) I have checked the syslogs but I am unable to see any interfaces going down on both the 6500's and the connecting edge 4500's. This setup has been fine for around 12 months with no errors and I am just checking to make sure nothing has changed but I don't think anything has.

Try Regenerating SSL certificate as below :
-   Stopped the Daemon Manager :    net stop crmdmgtd
-       Deleted all the server.* files in $CSCOpx/MDC/Apache/conf/SSL
On command Prompt :
-       NMSROOT\CSCOpx\MDC\Apache>perl ConfigSSL.pl -disable
-       NMSROOT\CSCOpx\MDC\Apache>perl ConfigSSL.pl -enable
      Fill all the required information !!!
-       Started the Daemon Manager using net start crmdmgtd

LMS - Alerting

Can LMS monitor 3rd party servers? Customer want LMS to send an e-mail alert when server IP address is unreachable.

You should monitore that interface to what the server is attached, and monitor it's status. You can do it here: Monitor -> Fault settings -> Setup -> Fault device details. Click onthe switch, view, click on it's name, and set the interface to true.

When I check the FEX switch I see it is up and running fine and I don't see any problems in its operation or the FEX going down. So it seems that these events are false somehow or maybe I'm missing something here.
Does anybody know why these events are seen? What can we do to fix this issue?

The thing is that this event happened like 5-6 times before and each time on a different FEX and it goes away on its own. When we check the FEX that this event reported, we don't see any problems in it and the servers connected to it are up and running fine.
So even if I delete and re-add the FEX switches to LMS, this will not necessarily solve the issue because it may happen again randomly on one of them after some time.
Could it be that this is happening because of a bug? Or maybe I need to tweak something in LMS?

Nexus 2232 and IBM 10 Gig CNA compatability

Has anyone got a good doc on software/hardware compatability for Nexus, specifically 2232, and IBM 10 Gig CNAs? Im struggling with some Unix guys, I can use this particular pair of 2232s all day, but when I link a new 770 VIO....nada. We bypass the 2232 and link to the 5596 and it links up immediately. I suspect the IBM CNA and compatability but need the proof. Stumbling google I didn't see anything but I don't speak Unix very well either. We're running 2232PPs on 5596s at 5.1(3)N2(1b). Any help is appreciated.

Module freezes in LMS

Hi,
I've got a situation with version 8. I converted 5 of my modules (created in captivate7) into the new version. Now, when they are published in my LMS, they freeze on the last page of the quiz, and don't allow the module to mark itself as complete. Each of these modules worked great in the LMS before I converted them to my new template in 8. I am publishing with both SWF and HTML5 highlighted, and only "force re-publish on all slides" checked. I haven't been able to find detailed documentation about what all of those options do, or what the best choices are.
Is there a different setting I should be using? The LMS company has run it's own diagnostics, and says it's a SCORM problem. But they don't seem to know what kind, just that the SCORM package is broken.

Don't be too quick to believe the LMS company. They ALWAYS blame the authoring tool regardless of where the problem may be. They should SCORM experts if they build LMS products but cannot tell you where the issue is makes me very suspicious.
Upload your content to SCORM Cloud online LMS and test it there. If there is indeed anything wrong with the package then SCORM Cloud will tell you.

Captivate Learning Objects Cause LMS to Close

I have multiple learning objects that were created in Captivate 4. The e-learning course was then compiled in Lectora. The course plays perfectly when exported as "HTML Only" and loaded on a web-server. However, when the course is exported as SCORM 1.2 and loaded into an LMS, the course closes prematurely after the AS2 pre-loader. I did not publish the SWFs from Captivate with SCORM communication because they are being used as learning objects in Lectora. Is it necessary for the SWFs to also be publish as SCORM compliant? Any other factors that could be causing the interactions to close the LMS session?

selecting an LMS for an organisation are considerable in number.
The conventional approach is to begin with the needs of the
organisation and set these against LMS products that vendors offer
aided by independent evaluation reports from the likes of Brandon
Hall, Bersin Associates etc; you gather the information, do a
matrix type or other analysis, do try outs of a short list and then
presto out comes decision: the magic package that appears to meet
all needs you have identified. Just then cost and the notoriously
rapid obsolescence of LMS products begin to gnaw.

upside down for technical and business reasons.
And thanks for the Moodle advice. Good system; I have visited
and keep an eye on developments there. However, I see Moodle as a
platform that is largely oriented towards the educational sector.
Nothing wrong with that, but my focus is on other sectors.

Applicaiotn module commit causing error

Hi Experts,
Currently i am getting the following error when i execute the following user case. Looking forward your idea or hints to resolve the issue.
1) I have one Application module which basically have some view objects. One view object has multiple child and grandchild view objects. (Basically the link is in the view object level). In the taskflow jsf page i have the view object attributes. The save button is point to the "Commit" operation of the application module. When i save the changes after the one of the child or grandchild attribute change it is working, but for the second time i am getting Application module instance is not found in <Application module name>. Am i missing any configuration?
2) Also incase if i would like to update the child VO attribute on the parent VO attribute change, how can i do it inside the backing bean?

Just from your description it sounds like you are holding onto AM references in your backing bean code. Hopefully I'm wrong, but just in case, never make direct references to AM or VO instances in your view layer code - doing this it's so easy to end up with stale object references as the AM instance may change from request to request. This is what your first error sounds like.
For the second issue - why not just add some code to the attribute setter in the VO Impl for the parent. The the code is in the correct place.
