10 key keyboard attachment not working?

My keyboard is working fine but the 10 key attachment on the right hand side is not working.  I have changed the batteries.  When going into preferences, the iMac doesnt find either piece

Sorry, I meant right side.....duh.
Are you able to click the + and add it? I have the same 10 key add on and it has always worked fine for me. See if anything on Apple's bluetooth quick assist page can help

  • Some of the shortcut keys and directional keys on the keyboard are not working in FF 4 RC1 (i.e. Tab, Ctrl+C, arrow keys). They work fin in FF 3.6x and other applications.

Crtl+C, Ctrl+V, Ctrl+X, Tab, and arrow keys do not work at all in FF4.0b13 and later. I am not sure about earlier versions as this is the first version I have tried.

I found this helpful article (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1381) and worked my way through the section "Some keys don't work as expected".
All the following functions/settings are disabled or turned off:
Text to speech / Speak selected text when the key is pressed
    Slow Keys
    Mouse Keys.
The keyboard viewer just confirms my list of keys that are not working.
Starting in safe mode makes no difference; nor does booting from the Mac OS X Install Disc and running Terminal from the Utilities menu. The same keys as before fail to work.
This seems to confirm that it's a hardware issue. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Hi
Please find the steps given below might help you to fix your issue.
Go to device manager & uninstall the keyboard driver and restart the unit.

  • The volume keys on my Logitech K760 wireless keyboard do not work with my 2.3 GHz, Intel Core i5 Mac mini which runs Mac OS X 10.7.4. Anyone know how to correct this without having to re-code firmware?

My first post to the Apple Support Community so it looks like all I wanted to know is covered in the title. The research I have done led me to solutions that I am not comfortable trying for fear of irreparably damaging my keyboard and/or Mac mini. Does anyone have a simpler solution? Please? Hellooooo?
Just in case the title is too long to show, I have re-pasted here:

All new keyboards need Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and above for full functionality.
Rather short-sighted of Apple perhaps, but that seems to be a trend these days.
I'm afraid the only fix is to upgrade to SL. Personaly, I'd take it back and get a refund and seek an older keyboard or a third-party one elsewhere.

    Hey ynareshbabu,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are having issues with your keyboard. The following article provides some great troubleshooting steps:

  • Bottom row of the keyboard is not working in a vertical orientation on the iPhone 3Gs. the "slide to unlock" and all keys on the calculator on both orientation works fine. I can use the keyboard on horizontal orientation.

Bottom row of the keyboard is not working in a vertical orientation on the iPhone 3Gs. the "slide to unlock" and all keys on the calculator on both orientation works fine. I can use the keyboard on horizontal orientation. The tabs on bottom of all apps also work fine.
I have already tried holding down the power button and home button for 10 seconds, but no difference.

I've had this problem on and off for the last few weeks (around, but not directly related, to upgrade to 6.1...can't remember if was before or after)....I'm very convinced it's a software problem (as there have been times when the bottom row works perfectly, without any need to "press" differently or anything).
However, it seems to be a rather resilient software issue, as a full restore does not consistently fix it, and it applies to more than just the keyboard; if I open a drawing app, there's definitely a row (about 4mm up from the edge of the screen closest to home button) where I cannot draw.
It's happened 4 times now.  Originally it went away with a restore from backup, then worked for 2 more days.  The second and third times, it went away with a full restore (although I did two full restores in between those two restores that did nothing, so restore didn't consistently fix it)....and it seemed to return in the most random of circumstances.
I paid very close attention to what apps I was using the last time it was working so that I could spot which app, if any, might be causing the issue.  I deleted several apps, I stopped using the games and many other apps.   I only used three apps between it working fine and starting up as a problem again: mail, safari and messages.
I was convinced it was mail, as it happened this morning when I picked up my phone off the bedside table to respond to a new email.  It was working when I went to bed.  I picked up the phone when it buzzed, hit the email app, hit reply and started to type....**** bottom row wasn't working again.
However, tonight I did 2 things....one of them worked because it went back to normal (sorry, I don't know which as I was exasperated and trying a number of things).
The two things I did between a broken keyboard and a working keyboard were:
    1) adding a second keyboard (English(Canada)), changing to this keyboard, and changing back
    2) disabling Siri...and then turning it back on...and then disabling Siri's "Raise to Speak"
In retrospect, I wonder if it actually was the "Raise to Speak" that was putting the phone into a weird state, and might explain why the phone would just "suddenly" start behaving strangely when I picked it up.  Of note, the "raise to speak" hasn't actually triggered Siri to come on in months anyway.
Regardless, the keyboard is back to normal now...and I'm just going to leave "Raise to Speak" off.  I've put the keyboard back to just "English" with no alternates and Siri remains on otherwise without issue.

  • Insert key of keyboard is not working after installing firefox

I was using IE8 as my browser before but recently changed to Firefox. My keyboard was functioning perfectly before I installed Firefox. Now whenever I type text (mostly when composing a message/draft in Google's gmail or Hotmail) the Insert key of the keyboard is not working. This is just not a problem in Gmail or Hotmail but with all programmes!!

Firefox is always in insert mode and doesn't support overwriting text, so you will have to use the Delete or Backspace key to remove unwanted characters.

  • Keyboard issue I have a iMac thats about 4 years old, and now the keyboard is not working properly. some keys do not work. Any suggestions ?

I think I may have a virus! My keyboard is not working properly. When I press the zero key, it doesn't appear. Other keys that do not work include the directional keys, delete key, and others. I tried everything that I can think of to fix it, but nothing sesems to be working. Should I bring the keyboard and=/or the entire computer into my local Apple store+? see, the +? appears before the question mark, and I didn't put it there! Thanks!

No need to take the computer at this stage.   Just take the keyboard into your local Apple store for examination.   If you have another machine, not necessarily Apple, you could try the board on that or perhaps a friend's machine … they are largely universal.
You do not have a virus.

Body damage and left and right keys of keyboard is not working...from where it fix it is possible to change the body and keyboard how much it cost?

    Hello @harmankakkar ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand your notebook has taken on some damage to the chassis and keyboard.
You can find a full list of parts for the product, and the steps to replace them yourself in the Maintenance and Service guide available in the User Guide section on your products support page here: HP - Drivers & Downloads.
You will need your exact product or model number to access this information. For information on finding your product and model numbers click here: How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Using the part numbers will allow you to search both the HP Part Store and third party vendors (like eBay and Amazon) for the cheapest parts.
You may also want to consider contacting HP Phone Support as they can give you an exact quote on costs for repair to your notebook. You can contact HP Technical Support at 1-800-474-6836 in North America. For all other regions click here.
    Hopefully this information helps!

  • 6 keys "5tgb-[" on mac air keyboard do not work or act up

6 keys: "5tgb-[" on mac air keyboard do not work or act up. No known damage.

I took it to the Apple store and they checked it for free. They stated that they found liquid inside (to my great surprise), which costs $800 to fix. I declined, since a new one costs $1100. Even AppleCare would not have covered it, so it was not a problem that my 3-year AppleCare just expired.
I find it quite a coincidence that 2 of us had exact same problem within a week and we both posted it.

  • Hp Mini 110 1013tu Keyboard is Not working after upgrade to win 7

Hello need help on weird happenings to my keyboard..
Before i upgrade the Operating System From Windows XP to Windows 7 the Hp Mini 110 is working fine..
All keys on keyboard is working and touchpad is also working.
But after upgrading to windows 7 some keys on keyboard are not working like z,x,c,v, left ctrl and other more keys..
what do you think is the problem??
    Hardware Issue? or Driver Issue?
    please help thank you..

    Hello @MysticDragon ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand some of the keys on your keyboard are not working after installing Windows 7.
I do not see any drivers available for your notebook for Windows 7 on the HP website, so their might be some compatibility issues as it's going to rely on Windows update to find current drivers. This doesn't mean it will not work, but I cannot say for sure that it will.
    Try this:
    1. Click Start.
    2. Click Control Panel.
    3. Click Clock, Language, and Region.
    4. Click Region and Language.
    5. Click the Keyboards and Languages tab.
    6. Click Change keyboards...
    7. On the General tab, make sure English (United States) - US is selected in the Default input language field.
    8. Click on any other keyboards in the Installed services list.
    9. Click Remove.
    10. Repeat for all other non-English (United States) keyboards.
You may also want to try rolling back to Windows XP and see if the issue persists. It is possible the issue is coincidental and not the direct result of the update to Windows 7.
Let me know if this works!
