100 Mbps bandwidth between 2 location over Ethernet which router model is suitable?

Hi,
We want use 100 Mbps bandwidth between 2 location over Ethernet which router model is suitable?
Sanjay Nalawade.

Hello Sanjay,
I'm afraid the question is too generic to be addressed in a forum post, since the answer may depend on several variables.
My suggestion is to contact your Cisco Account Manager and ask for the assistance of a System Engineer who can make a project for your needs.

Antonio

  • Problem using Express over Ethernet via Solwise Gigabit Homeplug

    I am hoping someone can help me here.
    Similar problem with Tandie (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12175903&#12175903). I have a Vista PC which has no problem at all to connect to my Express over ethernet. I use my Express to "Create new wireless" network and stream my itunes over ethernet, which works well if I have a cable connected to the Express to my network where my Vista PC is connected.
    However, when I take my Express to another room and connect it to a Solwise Gigabit Homeplug and my other homeplug connects to my network I then seem to have problems. The homeplug works perfectly with my PS3, but my Express after about 2 hours itunes and Airport Utility is unable to find it. I can however ping the Express, but that is it.
    Here's how I configured the AX:
    Wireless Mode = Create a wireless network
    Wireless Network Name = unique name different to my Wireless BT Hub
    Radio Mode = 802.11n (802.11b/g compatible)
    Channel = Automatic
    Click the Internet icon
    Connect Using = Ethernet
    Connection Sharing = Share a public IP address
    AX Firmware ver: 7.4.2

    Welcome to the discussions, Charles266!
    However, when I take my Express to another room and connect it to a Solwise Gigabit Homeplug and my other homeplug connects to my network I then seem to have problems.
    Connection Sharing = Share a public IP address
    This would be the correct setting if your AirPort Express is connected directly to a simple modem (a simple modem has only 1 ethernet port)
    If you have the Express connected back to another router (it will have 3-4 ethernet ports), then the correct setting for Connection Sharing would be "Off (Bridge Mode)"
    I can't say if this will solve your problem. If you continue to have issues, then test using an ethernet cable from the Express back to your main router. If this works well, then one or both of the powerline products is suspect.

  • CAC Not limiting bandwidth or phone calls between locations.

    Hello, I'm running a test set up with a couple locations and attempting to make several calls between them to test the CAC bandwidth limits.
    The bandwidth limit between Location A and Location B is set to 50kbps.
    3 Phones 7940s are in Location A and 1 CIPC is in location B (When looking at Devices > Phones, it shows their respective Location A DP and Location B DP.  Regions are set up and G.729 is used between the locations.  I know regions are working, because when I look at call statistics, it shows the G.729 8kpbs used instead of the 711.
    I can place 4,5,6 or however many calls between the two locations and they all go through. I'm not sure why I'm not getting the "Bandwidth limit exceeded" and Location just isn't working. I've tried deleting and re-creating the locations.
    Any thoughts? Thank you very much for your consideration.

    Hello Harvey,
    First of all LCAC and E-LCAC require 24 kbps for a single G.729 call.
    Your are running CUCM 9.x which introduced Enhanced Location CAC.
    E-LCAC employs LBM service and uses Call Treatment When No LBM Available CUCM service parameter  to decide how to proceed if LBM is not available.
    For a fresh install LBM service is down and the latter param is set to Allow Calls.
    So please navigate to Serviceability and check if Cisco Location Bandwidth Manager service is activated and running.
    Once you confirm that:
    SSH to your server and issue file tail activelog cm/trace/lbm/sdl * recent to see requests for bandwidth deduction in real time,
    Make a test call and you should see something like:
    00117318.001 |20:12:09.240 |AppInfo  |LBMServer - Received from CallManager:
    msg = {
      messageId = (881)

            ext = ()
          <snip/>
          a_bw = (24)
    This is a request to deduct 24 kbps from the audio pool for a call between locations TEST1 and TEST2.
    Next it will show you the actual deduction (160 kbps audio pool has - 24 kbps for a G.729 accounts for 136 kbps left):
    00117323.010 |20:12:12.350 |AppInfo  |LBM: RES_REC add Edge TEST1->TEST2. Left=136, Calls=1
    00117323.011 |20:12:12.350 |AppInfo  |LBM: RES_REC add Edge TEST2->TEST1. Left=136, Calls=1
    Let me know if that helps.

  • Dynamic bandwidth selection for PPPoE over Ethernet/VLAN

    Hello all, hope you are doing great.
    I'm planning to deploy PPPoE Server (Cisco Router 7609) for a ISP. This ISP will provide Internet connection for customer over Ethernet.
    I have to provide a solution to assign bandwidth to each customer by RADIUS and I find some clues that Dynamic Bandwidth Selection (DBS) should be the answer. Unfortunately, DBS only support PPPoA or PPPoE over ATM.

    MY location services screen has a haze over it which prevents me from using any of the slide switches, any suggestions?

    Quit the Settings app completely and reboot the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
    Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • NVIDIA nForce 10/100 mbps Ethernet Updated driver

    I am trying to upgrade from Vista to Windows 7. I ran the upgrade advisor and it said that I need to download the updated driver for the NVIDIA nForce 10/100 mbps Ethernet 32bit driver to install after the installation. Where do I download it from and wich file do I download.

    Hi Marilyn, First things first. Before you upgrade to Windows 7, be sure that you update the BIOS to the latest level. All too often I have people update the operating system only to find out later that the BIOS is causing issues and the HP posted BIOS update will not run with the existing operating system.  You need a NVIDIA nFORCE chipset driver and I will post a link to that for you in just a moment.  However, don't upgrade your PC until you donwnload the drivers and copy them to external media.  This is one of the drivers needed. It's one of the latest nFORCE drivers.

  • Time Capsule Gigabit Ports operating at 100 Mbps (no 1000 Mbps speed)

    Hello!
    I'm a Verizon Fios user and recently upgraded to Quantum (150 Mbps up/65 down).
    My network:
    Verizon modem/router with gigabit Ethernet wired to WAN port on TC (3rd Gen).
    Multiple AEX extending the network throughout the house
    VZ router is the DHCP controller, TC set to bridge mode
    For some reason, the port controller on the VZ router is only working at 100 Mbps for whatever port is connected to the TC. I'm certain my TC has gigabit ports (as advertised--they all do, right?) and therefore can't figure out why I can't get the two pieces to operate at gigabit speed (for reference, the VZ modem has indicator lights for 10/100/1000 speeds and the same information is displayed in the router settings).
    The VZ configuration page allows me to manually select port speeds (10 half/full duplex, 100 half/full, 1000 full) or allow it to AUTO select. On auto, the port reports 100 Mbps full duplex with the TC. I tried manually selecting 1000 full duplex, at which point the port goes dark (for lack of a better term--no lights, no activity between the two).
    I'm certain the gigabit functionality exists on the VZ router side: if I plug in my early 2011 MB Pro directly to the port, I get gigabit speeds. I've also tried wiring from VZ router to TC LAN port, with the same result.
    Definitely frustrating: my wired connections are artificially reducing throughput for wireless! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated: is there a setting I'm missing in Airport Utility?
    Thanks!!
    --Gus

    I'm certain the gigabit functionality exists on the VZ router side: if I plug in my early 2011 MB Pro directly to the port, I get gigabit speeds. I've also tried wiring from VZ router to TC LAN port, with the same result.
    Hi Gus
    Let me just clarify the above statement.. wiring VZ to the TC LAN port got the same result as the WAN port.. that is how I am guessing you mean it. Not the same result as the MBP.. which worked fine.. !!
    I do have an answer to slow ethernet speed but it is not a setting in the TC.. TC lacks most settings or control.. although I would do a factory reset just to be sure. You can also run it in double NAT for a test. The WAN port does have speed controls.. but you can only get to them from v5 utility..
    That would be worthwhile to check.. I know you don't want double NAT but it is just to see what happens.
    Otherwise your Gen3 A1355 is suffering capacitor deterioration on the 1.8v line.
    I did fix it on one TC.. it is a rare problem. Normally the caps just die.
    https://sites.google.com/site/lapastenague/a-deconstruction-of-routers-and-modem s/apple-time-capsule-repair/new-issue-with-a1355-gen-3-tc
    I fixed it by soldering a standard low ESR capacitor to the supply..
    Test the TC cold, as the ethernet seemed to work ok until it heated up.
    Good luck with that one.
    How to load 5.6 into ML.
    1. Download 5.6 for Lion.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1482
    Click to open the dmg but do not attempt to install the pkg.. it won't work anyway.
    2. Download and install unpkg.
    http://www.timdoug.com/unpkg/
    Run unpkg on the desktop.. it is very simple.. drag the AirPortUtility56.pkg file over to unpkg.. and it will create a new directory of the same name on the desktop.. drill down.. applications utilities .. there lo and behold is Airport utility 5.6 .. drag it to your main utilities directory or just run it from current location.
    You cannot uninstall 6.1 (now 6.2 if you updated) so don't try.. and you cannot or should not run them both at the same time.. so just ignore the toyland version.. the plastic hammer.. and start using 5.6.. a real tool.

  • BUG: Mail (GMAIL IMAP) no longer connects over ethernet, only wireless

    I too was puzzled last night when I couldn't get my gmail account to go online. I did a lot of reading, and tried various things (to no avail), but ultimately decided it was just a configuration error, or combination of other programs running...or maybe even (as read in other posts) Google's servers. I found the server problem unlikely though, since I could also log in via the web interface.
    Mysteriously, opening Mail on a separate MBP over either ethernet or wireless was 100% normal...as was the imap connection on my iPad via 3G or wireless...so what was causing my brand new MBAir to choke? Sleep on it, I said to myself.
    Well here I am on day 2 of Mail refusing to connect. Connection doctor always shows 'green' next to connection status (Mail was able to connect to the internet), but red for both imap and smtp servers, with messages reading "Mail could not connect to this IMAP/SMTP server. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in Account preferences. Also verify the server supports SSL. If it does not, deselect the 'Use SSL' checkbox in the Advanced tab of Account preferences."
    I've eliminated the server issue, because my MBP still opened Mail just fine while connected to my network here at home.
    Then, just for fun, I decided to unplug my ethernet (which is attached via Apple's own USB Ethernet adapter), and turn on my wireless. Almost instantly, Mail popped to life on my MBAir, and started syncing with gmail/IMAP.
    In the two months I have owned this MBAir, getting Mail to work over ethernet had never been a problem. My issues seemed to parallel the recent influx of problems reported with gmail & IMAP.
    I still cannot get Mail to access gmail over the USB Ethernet Adapter. What gives, Apple? Anyone else experiencing these symptoms on these new MBAirs?
    Model Name: MacBook Air
    Boot ROM Version: MBA31.0061.B01
    SMC Version (system): 1.66f54

    Turns out I was a victim of my own [tight] security. I had a SOCKS proxy enabled on my Ethernet for when I take this laptop on the road...I used it to connect securely to my server back home. Obviously at home my SOCKS proxy was not connecting from within my private network. As soon as I removed the SOCKS proxy, voilá! GMAIL IMAP works perfectly over the USB Ethernet adapter once again.
    I hope this serves as a reminder to thoroughly check your network settings before driving yourself mad!
    Cheers!

  • Internet over ethernet, none over Extreme Base Station

    I have optical cable to the house (no modem involved). When I connect directly to my mac, the cable company hands out a 64.xx.xx.xx IP address and I get blazing internet. When I connect to the AEBS it hands out a 10.xx.xx.xx IP address (I don't remember ever seeing the cable company hand out that kind of IP address before). Everything appears as if it should work, but I get no internet. The AEBS is set to share a single IP address using 10.xx.xx.xx addressing. The cable company has MAC addresses for both the iMac and the AEBS, so it should work. Everything was working before macworld... any thoughts? Much appreciated.
    17" iMac G4   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

    Thanks Don.
    Before yesterday, the airport extreme base station (AEBS) was connected to my cable from the internet company and working just fine (receiveing a valid IP address and all). Yesterday, I get home from Macworld and my wife tells me we haven't had internet. Upon investigating, I find that the IP address that my AEBS is getting over DHCP is in the 10.xx.xx.xx format. My AEBS is still connected to the cable from my ISP and my computer is getting a full reception over my network with the AEBS, but no internet. I then connect the ISP's cable directly to my iMac over ethernet and PRESTO! a valid IP address in the 64.xx.xx.xx format and internet. My ISP tells me it's probably my AEBS. Today I hard reset the AEBS, re-configured it and got the same negative result (an IP address in the 10.xx.xx.xx format). I have an airport express (express) and decided to try that. I reconfigured it as a base station, and it worked...temporarily. Initially I got a valid IP address in the 64.xx.xx.xx format, internet worked great. I moved it around the room a couple times trying to find an optimal location and it started having the same problem as the AEBS, the only IP address it got from my ISP was an invalid or non-working IP in the 10.xx.xx.xx format. The only similarity between the "outage" of the AEBS and the express is that they were plugged into the same outlet when they went "out". My wife said that yesterday, prior to the AEBS going out, it had accidentaly been unplugged from the wall, and then immediately re-plugged. I'm convinced it's either a power surge issue of some sort which fryed them both (except I am getting an IP address, albeit an imperfect one), incompatible firmware, a virus, or my ISP... I'm really hoping it's the ISP.

  • Airplay not working over wireless, works over ethernet?

    I posted this in multiple forums in which it applies to.
    Just looking for troubleshooting suggestions from my wireless N MBPro, to my wired ATV2. Here is the rundown (all devices running latest updates):
    1)used to work just fine with old router
    2)airplay works in all directions, from wireless devises to the wired ATV2
    3)updated to a much newer N router from cisco
    4)now, airplay works over Ethernet from itunes to ATV2 (and iphone4s to ATV2), ATV2 plays music from my MBPro just fine
    5) however airplay fails to work from itunes to ATV2 over wirelesss
    6)all wireless connections are sound, it is not a bandwidth problem, it literally says "connecting to apple tv" and never stops or connects
    7)itunes sees the ATV2 just fine over both Ethernet and wireless connections, i can select ATV2 as an output even when on wireless
    8)it will even ask for the password once i select it
    So, any suggestions? I just dont know where I am going wrong, somehow the wireless aspect is the broken link. As a side note, all wireless clients and wired clients are on the same subnet.
    Thanks for any suggestions or help!

    I had the same problem.  Disable any IGMP, or IGMP proxy features on your router.  As soon as I disabled IGMP proxy on my router everything came up has been working for a while. Lack of driver support on the wireless clients is likely the cause. oh well, at least its working now.

  • Anyone out there successfully migrated from 10.4.11 over ethernet?

    Here's my problem thus far:
    I've got a MBP running 10.4.11 with the latest download of the migration assistant. I've got a new late 2008 MacBook running 10.5.5. I can get migration assistant running on both connected by ethernet and airport is off on both laptops. The MBP sees the MB over the ethernet. I enter in the pass code that the migration assistant lists on the MB and then the MBP goes back into "search for computers" mode and then asks for the pass code again. After I enter the number a second time, the MBP goes back into search mode and this goes on for about 5-10 more minutes until the migration assistant on the MB tells me that there was a network error and it can't work.

    Apple DID A HUGE MISTAKE when omitted Firewire for no reason from the new MacBooks and this becomes evident when trying to migrate user acounts to the new macine from old ones. Apple tried AND FAILED to implement a Migration Assistant that works over network because the whole idea of the original Migration/Setup Assistant became the exact opposite: a painful troubleshooting nightmare, taking hours if not days without success.
    Before any "genie" here asks, I want to point out that all the updates are on my old machines (yes, after finding out the huge problems with this new Migration Assistant 1.2.3 and 1.0.6, I actually tried from 2 old machines, a Mac Mini and a MacBook Pro, as well).
    Looking at Console one could find out that the problem lies deeper than the two machines not being able to find each other over the network - connection goes through within 1-2 sec, but after that there are numerous problems on the old machine, see below. That is why I say Apple really screwed us (and up) with this Migration Assistant v.1.0.6.
    I copy the Console output here and mark with **???** where there are visible errors in the implementation (SantaRosaBook is the old MacBook Pro and SilverBook is the new MacBook):

    Up until this point the new machine could not find a stable connection with the old one, while the old one prompted twice for the password and started to find connection a second time.
    It would be really helpful if somebody from Apple Tech Services could identify the problems and reply or ask for further information. I would be happy to provide further Console messages if that helps.
