Recently I just got cable installed and the Internet works and it connects to my Xbox one but I have 100% packet loss and I can't play any online games or apps on my phone. Can someone please help me out as I have waited about 2 weeks to get it working!

  • Can't play online games but NAT is open and ports are forwarded correctly. What now?

    Hi,
I have a DSL modem/router from Windstream that is hooked up to a linksy WRT160N which is then wired to my xbox 360. Now I have had problems in the past with the modem/router interfering with the WRT and creating a Strict NAT type. I have fixed that by changing the routers IP address to 10.10.10.1 (recommended by a linksys technical support person) So, now I have a static IP address setup for my 360 and opened all the ports for that and the games I play online but I can't find a game. It just continual cycles in limbo land and I never get a game to play. Is there anything else I need to change in order to fix my issue. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

Please follow the below mentioned settings this should fix the issue for you.
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 10.10.10.1 and press Enter...
Leave Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
On the set-up tab change the MTU Size to 1365 and click Save Settings...
Click on "Administration" tab and disable the option UPnP and click Save Settings...
Click on "Applications and Gaming" tab and then click on "Port Range Forwarding" subtab...
    1) On the first line in Application box type in ABC, in the start box type in 53 and End box type in 3074, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box, click Save Settings once done...
    2) Once you return to the set up page click on the Security tab and uncheck Block Anonymous Internet Requests and click on Save Settings...
3)Click on the Status tab and take note of DNS1 and DNS2 Addresses...
    4) Goto the XBox Network Settings and IP Address Settings and select manual IP Settings and assign the following on your Xbox
    IP Address :- 10.10.10.20, Subnet Mask :- 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway :- 10.10.10.1...
    5) Also assign the DNS Addresses on the Xbox
Use DNS1 and DNS2 Addresses you took note off of the router status tab as Primary DNS & Secondary DNS for the xbox...
    6) Turn off your modem, router, and Xbox...Wait for a minute...
    7) Plug the modem power first, wait for another minute and plug the router power cable, wait another minute and turn on the Xbox and test it...it will connect...
IP Address: 10.10.X.[last part of ip in your device]    e.g. if static ip given to the device was 10.10.X.10 get the last part and put that to the empty box.

  • Dunno how to port forward. Can't play online game (WRT54GS)

I'm having trouble creating and joining games for a game called Starcraft. I've been to many forums and a couple tech support people told me the problem may be with my security settings with my router. I know the correct port for the game but I'm not sure how to use this information to help me play my games. Can someone please help me? I'll provide more information if needed. Thank You

go to any comp. that is online. On that comp. open internet explorer and in the address bar type http://192.168.1.1. It will ask u for username-password. Dont type anything in the username but in the password, type admin. On this page, click on application and gaming tab, and under that click on the subtab, port triggering. Under the appln name type any name, for both start ports and end ports enter the 1st port no. u have and continue doing the same for remaining port nos.
Linksys Setup CD said "Use Win XP or better"

  • Satellite L500-13v freeze and make sound while playing online game

I have just purchased a toshiba Satellite L500-13v laptop to use for general and studying purposes and am having problems.
Firstly music, when listening to music i keep having problems, the laptop will maka a horrible noise that i can only compare to the sound made when you put a cd into your car stereo and it doesn't like it.
When making this sound the laptop also seems to pause for a sec or so then continue.
This has happened when playing from cds, the hardrive and streaming straight form the internet.
Also got progressivelly worse, never at the same moment on a song or game always randomly.
Went back to the store and they said it sounds faulty and replaced the machine . . . . . .
The new one has started doing it.
On a game played online (with sound) it seemed to freeze and make this sound and everything stopped and also when streaming again.
This is a 4gb machine and at these times i would never be using more than 1.5 gb of ram.
This is meant to be everything i need computer wise for the next four and i am getting more and more concerned there is a problem.
I was told at the store this i a very new model, could this be one of those problems you only find once a model goes out??
    Plese Help???????

    > On a game played online (with sound) it seemed to freeze and make this sound and everything stopped and also when streaming again.
Does this mean that the notebook freezes ONLY running this online game?
Hmm did you try to update the graphic card driver?
In my experience many games (online) would affect the notebooks functionality if the graphic card driver is not fully compatible or too old

  • Why did you put a huge banner at the top of my screen? it is taking away from the bottom of my screen and I can't play my games

Your "More System Details" shows an extension named "RightSurf" which based on a Google search is something that most people prefer to remove. In case that is corrupting your display, try this:
Disable ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable.
Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Also, visit the Windows Control Panel, Uninstall a Program, and click the "Installed on" column heading to bring the most recent additions to the top. Typically this will show a bundle of several different unwanted programs that snuck in with something "free". Remove anything that you don't recognize or don't need.

My parents changed the channel for the BT home hub and I am online the wifi config is all green but I can't play online game or Skype as it says I'm offline?! I have gone on advanced settings and updated my mac and restarted it but still no working but it works fine on my phone! HELP!

Am a newbie but somethings may work here, Go to dock preferences and to network and to your airport connection window.
You have a green light signal in network status window? If it is yellow or red it is unavailable. If your connection is full of traffic, this may effect connection.
In window you may need to type in optional search domains. Your provider should tell you this no one else~ They would also walk you through your connection failures. If it is yellow and you connect to your provider's router and don't have your own router, this number may not appear in your connection information. You need to tell them their router is down so they can fix it. They may not find out if pings come back. Pings may also be cached (I am not sure but it might) so it may take them a while to find out if you don't tell them. I would call your provider. Maybe empty your preferences in your browser. You may have cookies or garbage to empty there. Use another browser.

    SWTOR
this only happens for SWTOR and I also play GW2 but have no issues at all and get 300kb/s which is actually above normal.
Hope this can be sorted please
    Thanks

You're not seeing 100% packet loss at those hops. If that really were the case, then you'd get no response from all subsequent nodes.
The Pathping output is telling you that those nodes aren't responding to 100% of packets addressed to them, but that they are correctly forwarding 100% of packets not addressed to them eg the destination.
If they were dropping a small percentage of packets it could point to a congested router etc, but the fact that it's 100% tends to suggest that it's more likely that those nodes are simply configured to not respond to ICMP echo requests.
Of more concern, I would suggest, is the real packet loss within llnw.net

  • Three devices on network: 100% packet loss for my iMac.

I'm having intermittent bouts of 100% packet-loss pinging my router from my iMac, at the same time my iPod touch and neighbor's Windows laptop are surfing wirelessly from the same router.
Sometimes these bouts resolve spontaneously. Otherwise I need to shut down, wait, and restart my iMac to reconnect. The longer the shut down, the longer I can connect it seems.
The problem started a few days ago, after months of trouble-free performance with the same settings. The computer usually stayed up all the time. I hoped in vain today's OSX 10.5.4 and AirPort firmware updates would fix the problem ...
Post 10pm is the most common problem time, 'tho I'm not sure if that's a function of my iMac's uptime (wireless module is cooking?) or some electronic interference firing up near by. Maybe a virus?
Known potential sources of interference have been around for months/years: my old wireless 'phone is a 900MHz model, the next door neighbor's satellite antenna's been up for months. The dodgy power in this old building is hopefully offset by the APC UPS that powers my Mac.
Do I keep fiddling with the AirPort channels, or do I take my computer back to the shop for (another) warranty repair?
    Greg./

No, I'm not letting my neighbor steal my signal. He's subletting off me, and his access to my network (WPA2 encryption) is part of the "deal". He's a bit of a night-owl, and the late night download limit is pretty big, so it works fine all round.
I used his laptop's (and my iPod Touch's) uninterrupted access (while my iMac's floundering in packet-loss purgatory) as a way of "narrowing down" to the prime suspect: the iMac wireless module.
    Greg./
ps sorry about the unnecessary alliteration; I had to substitute "purgatory" because the forum software censors "****" (aich, ee, ell, ell).

  • Packet loss and eventual shutdown of port 80 on RV180

I have been using my RV180 router for about a year now. I have had very little issues with it overall. I have seperate wireless access points connected and use those for my wireless devices.
Recently, I started getting very odd connection problems it started as packet loss and then turned into connection loss. The odd part is that it only effects port 80 or the secured port, 880, if I remember correctly. Thats right, everything else on the network works fine. However, I can not access the internet or the RV180 router via it's ip address to check the status. VOIP, other lan networking, gaming, and bitcoin mining is completely uneffected. Direct connection to the modem works without any problems.
I have tried updating the router firmware but no help.
Each time I have this issue the problem is cured simply by unplugging the router and plugging it back in. Nothing else works because I can not log into the router. This problem comes along once a week or so. I have also tried enabling the logs but I get absolutly nothing when I reset the router and log back in. I have had similar problems with routers in the past becoming "bent" after about a year of use and requiring a replacement. I sort of thought that this wouldnt be the case with the Cisco because it is a good brand and came with a five year warranty. I have also scanned every PC on the network for viruses and malware but nothing was located. The remainder of the devices are IP cameras and such.
Can anyone think of anything that could be causing this?

So I was able to get the logs tonight by repeatedly pinging the router and it would start letting me get traffic in again.

  • 100% packet loss

    Hi there,
    I get 100% packet loss whilst I am playing online on the Xbox, it only occurs on FIFA 13, I have contacted EA and they have said the packet loss occurs within the BT network, I was wondering if anyone else has the same problem and whether you could help me? Here is my trace route to the EA servers [Easo.ea.com];

Can you confirm what test you ran that gave you these statistics?
100% packet loss would mean that there is nothing coming through the pipe for that period of time.  You are essentially disconnected at 100% loss, speed is the least of your concerns.  That is also going to depend on what you are testing your packet loss test against.  Perhaps VZW is blocking this particular test from completing.
A more standard test is to get a browser, connect to the Jetpack and navigate to SpeedTest.net.  Run a few tests here and take the average speeds that are recorded to paint a better picture.
Xbox also has well known limitations with the VZW 4G LTE network.  Unless something new has happened all Xbox users on 4G LTE are not able to host multiplayer games due to the NAT firewall that runs that network.
