100% Page Width Issue

Hi there,
I'm designing a site with Muse 7.4 and I've been trying to get my content to scale to different browser sizes proportionally. It feels like I've looked at every tutorial there is about aligning boxes/objects with the red lines at the sides of the page, but whenever I view my site across different screen sizes, you always need to scroll to see content that's been 'cut off'. I have a variety of objects on the page including a slideshow, text boxes, images and buttons, but I wasn't sure if this would affect it. Ideally, I'd like all this content to grow and shrink as I adjust the browser width so nothing gets 'cut-off'. Are there any workarounds for this?
Many thanks!

  • Odd 100% Page Width Issues

    Hi,
    Firstly sorry in advance - I'm new to Muse and I primarily work in graphics and video (photoshop, after effects etc) - so web is not my forte!
    I'm having a weird issue with page width. Most of the pages on my site have tiled images or one large image in a rectangle set to 100% page width - as a background image of sorts. Other elements (rectangles etc) sit on top of that scrolling at different speeds - these are also set to 100% width.
    When the browser window is at full size this works fine, however when I decrease the browser size until I get a horizontal scroll bar, the background images seem to extend further to the right than the other elements on top, even though they are both set to 100% width.
    Here's a few images to illustrate:
    Everything dragged out to 100% width

    Layout problem in the browser (Google Chrome)
    There's a draft version of the site at http://alivechurchlincoln.businesscatalyst.com/ where you can see the problem on the 'About' page. It happens on a number of the other pages too.
    I've checked through all my layers and nothing seems to extend over the page width, including compositions.
    Any help would be really appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Ben

    I have been through all the pages this is affecting (About, Connect and Community), unlocked all the layers and selected all to see if there was any content hiding on the right side but I couldn't find anything.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

  • How to make images 100% page width?

    I've been familiar with the 100% page width feature for a while and have used it quite a bit with no trouble until now. I'm trying make this banner image I have 100% page width (which doesn't appear to be an option), but when I do it still leaves some space on either side of the image when I preview it. The next thing I tried was to just use a bigger version of the image that way it spans wider than the browser, but the problem there is that it enables horizontal scrolling which I do not want at all.
    This site has a lot of similar banner/rectangle images to what I'm creating so this is the effect I'm going for. Any suggestions would be great guys

    set a text box or rectangle to 100% width and then fill the object with the image. set it to scale to fill.

  • 100 percent width issue with smaller windows

    It took me many times to try and submit this, perhaps as the title had the percent sign? I kept getting the system errors and logging out automatically (see system error below) even though other similar posts have the % sign in the title.  So I am trying to view similar discussions, especially at https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1455954?q=100%%20width but my browsers won't let me read that page once I'm signed in.
    Anyway, I am having a similar issue in that when my window is made smaller (ie. a small laptop was browsing) until the horizontal scroll bar appears, after scrolling to the right many of my verified 100% width objects do NOT continue.  See homepage of htttp://www.STLcello.com for example (looks fine unless you force to a smaller window, than scroll to the right to see how the header and footer items don't continue even though they do.
    I'm hoping someone will have an answer to this or the other guy's question that this has been unanswered for months now!

    Unfortunately this is not possible with Tooltip , but you can use full screen slideshow which will have the similar effect but the limitation being the content on the page which will be not same as the referenced site you have posted.

  • Slide show with fixed page width

    I made this previously in another side (e.g. thaisailing.com): to have a slide show at 100% page width so that it scales from left to right, independant of the window size. But this time it will not succeed. If I take a rectancle and fill it with one image, it works fine. But not with a slide show element. It always goes back to the side of the inner space only. How can I have a slide show with full page with (not full screen)? Thanks,

  • Auto adjustment of page orientation causes printing issues with documents that have a page width greater than its page height.

    Hi,
    Since an upgrade from Word 2003 to Word 2010, we are experiencing printing issues with certain
    documents that have a page width greater than its page height.
    In Word 2003, it was no problem to set the page width greater than the page height while setting the page orientation to "portrait".
    In Word 2010, this seems impossible: despite leaving the page orientation to "portrait", if one changes the page width/height as stated,
    Word 2010 automatically adjusts the orientation to "landscape". Resetting the orientation to "portrait" will flip the page's width/heigth settings.
    This behaviour causes printing problems: the page prints out 90° rotated.
    I do not believe this is a printer driver issue: I tried several different printer drivers, and all give the same (bad) result. Setting the printer driver's page orientation settings (before printing) makes no difference, as
    Word 2010 seems to force the page orientation settings.
    Inserting the documents 90° rotated is not an option, since it causes problems with the printing margins.
    This is very annoying, since we have to print official documents of a municipality (driver's licences).
    Is there a workaround for this issue?

  • Can the 100% browser width function be used in non-master pages?

    Can the 100% browser width function be used in non-master pages? I watched the video about pulling it to the red edges, and did that on some of my parent pages, but when I preview the page in browser, it doesn't work. I can still see my browser edges.
    The idea for the website I am designing is to have different full browser width images for different pages, and I'm looking for a way to do that. I would create a different master for each page, but there are more than 20 pages...too many master pages! Thanks!

    Hi Lindsey,
    The 100% width feature works with rectangles and text frames on both master pages as well as regular pages. It doesn't work with images in either case. A possible workaround would be to use a rectangle with a background image, depending on the nature of your image.

  • Reporting Services - Horizontal Scrollbar not scrolling sometimes fields exceed page width

    We have a landscape report with lots of fields, causing report to span in width, more than page width. We don't print the report, just view it. Problem is that sometimes when previewing the report, the horizontal scroll bar opens to a size of the whole report
    window and there's no actual scrolling functionality to have the report show what's to the right of the data shown.
    We checked this with IE8, IE9, and as it seems there are entries on the internet about such problem, but we haven't encounted an entry with solution / bypass to this problem, when relating to preview within report builder / VS / Reporting Services in
    IE (they relate there only to reportviewer control if at all).
    We did find that in this event, manually zooming the IE window where the report result is shown, helps the horizontal scroll bar go back to what it should be, and work, e.g. zooming down to 75% and returning in zoom up to 100%....
    Can you please advise ? Thank u

    Hi moital,
    Just as you said, I still think the issue is caused by Internet Explorer. We can try to
    run IE in
    compatibility mode or
    disable third party add-ons
    of Internet Explorer (IE) to check the issue again. If this issue
    is still existed, I suggestion you post the question in the following forum:http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/ie/en-US/home?category=internetexplorer.
    It is appropriate and more experts will assist you.
    Thank you for your understanding and support.

  • Cannot adjust page width to fit to screen size on some PCs with IE

    Hello friends, I am using APEX 4.0 and IE9 on different Windows 7 PCs . The page will go way off the screen to the right on one PC, and fits nicely inside the screen on another PC. This problem does not occur in Firefox on any PC. I have used Firebug to try to isolate the template or css settings. Using Theme_4, I have a breadcrumb region and 4 reports regions. One of the reports regions is in column 1 and 3 regions are in column 2. Display point is Page Template Body (3. Items above region content) for all the reports regions. The CSS is #themes/theme_4/css/theme_4_0.css. The template is One Level Tabs (Right Sidebar/Table Based). I tried various width="" using px and % under Edit Page Template-Definition-Body (see below). I tried style="width:800px" within the <div> tags. I have tried various other changes to theme_4_0.css and apex_4_0.css with no visible change to the page width on the obstinate PCs. I reset IE setting and deleted all personal settings on both PCs with no changes to either one, one fits on the screen and the other does not. The issue is that most of our users use IE so most of them will have to live with using the horizontal scroll bar to see the regions in column 2, unless we switch them all to Firefox (not a bad option, except that option works for our users only, we have no control over external browsers). I have tried suggestions from many discussion threads, as this problem has bothered us for quite some time. I know this is an IE problem, but any help is appreciated. Thank you.
    "|" represents screen size and "-" is the regions/content for the "bad" PCs.
    |----------|----------
    The "good" PCs look like this:
    |----------|
    Peter
    <div id="body">
    <table class="tbl-body" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0" summary="">
    <tbody>
    <tr>
    <td class="tbl-main" width="100%">#REGION_POSITION_02##BOX_BODY#</td>
    <td class="tbl-sidebar">#REGION_POSITION_03#</td>
    </tr>
    </tbody>
    </table>
    </div>

    BD...
    I think your concerns are very reasonable. But I want to sort of refocus things a little bit for you here... it's not really a PC vs Mac issue... Rather, it's specifically an Internet Explorer issue. And you might say that this is synonymous...still 98% of the world uses IE, and you would be correct. Hopefully when the final version of IE7 comes out, it will finally embrace some of the modern day OPEN web standards without trying to make too many standards of its own (this is Microsoft, though).
    Anyways, in the meantime, I guess we all try to make the best of it. It's very easy to conclude that iWeb is not a viable tool for you, as long as you have something else to "fall back" on. With my limited knowledge of all things HTML, I have no such luxury. Instead, I have put up a notice on my site for IE users only that the site might not look its best on IE....this notice also encourages IE users to use FireFox, which is very much like Safari and will in 99% of cases display your iWeb pages just like you expect. You can see how I've done this here (but you have to surf from IE)... http://blog.dirtdoog.com
    I think many people in the PC world understand the limitations of IE. Certainly many don't, but you have to consider your likely audience, I guess. I believe that your website content is king. If your content is compelling enough to your intended audience, they will jump through hoops to see it in its full glory....but you have to make them aware of the problem. That's why I have chosen to take the path that I have taken.
    Let me know what you think.

  • Smart form: Spool to PDF Conversion more than 100 pages.

    Hi folks,
    I have an issue with Function Module (FM) CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF when the report to be converted has more than 100 pages.....i have explained this scenario as below
    We have been using the FM CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF to convert ABAP report to PDF file and then send this via mail using FM SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1.....
    PDF conversion using FM CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF works well if the number of report pages is less than 100....i.e the table pdf of the FM will contain the output as expected.....
    If the report has more than 100 pages, the the FM CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF will schedule the conversion job as a background job and returns with a SY-subrc eq 0 and the table parameter pdf will ne empty.
    Could you suggest me a woorkaround in this situtaion...i.e how do I then get the output of the background job
    And  any process to convert Spool to PDF if having more than 100 pages.
    Thanks in Advance............

    Pb,
    If the report has more than 100 pages, the the FM CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF will schedule the conversion job as a background job and returns with a SY-subrc eq 0 and the table parameter pdf will ne empty
    i would suggest you to if pages are more than 100 than you need to send report output to sp01 with spool request number by using fm job_open..job_close..
    than from sp01 you can convert pdf by running RSTXPDFT4 in se38.
    hope this would solve your problem.
    Amit.

  • How do I set Page Width to Multiple Pages?

    How do I set Page Width to Multiple Pages?
    I notice when Cross Tabs are used, the report spans over several pages in width. Can I set this option without using a cross-tab? Since I am having trouble finding a paper width that is 100 inches wide, I was thinking of just using multiple pages.
    Thanks,
    Linda

    Hi Linda,
    Try inserting an OLEDB object and select a bitmap and insert a blank bitmap in report header. Now go to preview and right click on OLEDB Object go to format graphic>picture>change the width of the picture
    If the width exceeds more than the width of the page then it create virtual pages.
    Hope this helps!

  • 100% page size ??

    Hello,
    im new  with Muse and  for now i couln`t find what i was looking for and am lost.
    I`m using the CC 2014 version of muse and am working on a page that gets displayed wrong in the browser.
    the width of the page is 1000 and the height is 950.
    The thing is, when I preview the page, only the slideshow and some rectangles I created open 100% on the whole page, from the left side to the right side, the text and menu kinda seem stuck in the middle and its driwing me crazy since it looks awful and is not dispalyed as created  in muse.
    I watched some tutorials, but nothing seems to work for me.
    Im sorry, but I`m not used to this program and realy don`t know how to solve this.
    Here are some print screens :
    master page : http://oi58.tinypic.com/dbmb6o.jpg
    home page : http://oi60.tinypic.com/10mqx6q.jpg
    preview page : http://oi62.tinypic.com/sqi88o.jpg
    Tnx for the answers !**

    Please note that although there are many objects in Muse that can be expanded to fill the 100% browser width, not all objects/widgets can be expanded using this feature. Menu widget is one such widget that cannot be expanded to 100% browser width (if it has more than one items).
    Also, for the objects/widgets that can be expanded to browser edge flexibly (rectangles/textframes/slideshows..) can only do so if they are expanded across the browser width i.e. from left edge to the right edge. So this won't work if you expect an item to begin somewhere in the middle of the screen and expand to the right or left depending on the browser width.
    From your screenshots, the appearance looks expected. If you could share what exactly you want to achieve with respect to specific parts of the page, I may be able to help you in a better way.
    Cheers,
    Vikas

  • Why are my images scrolling from outside the Page width?

    Why are my images scrolling from outside the Page width? I am positive i has all the settings correct, to have an image parallax scroll from the edge of the page into the page and out again. But the images are flying in from the browser width - not the page width. This is not the effect I am after.
    Any suggestions on how to fix this? Given the key position is only linked to the height, I can't for the life of me work out how to ensure the images start moving from a certain position onthe left and right of the page.
    Thanks

    I think the effect you are seeing is a result of how the lineHeight is set up. By default, the lineHeight will be calculated as 120% of the size of the largest thing on the line -- in your case, this is the inline graphic. This is designed to leave space between the line before and the line with the graphic. So it is taking the height of the graphic, multiplying by 120%, and making this the distance between the previous line and the line with the graphic. So the bigger the graphic, the bigger the space above the graphic. Normally this works well with text, but in this case you may want to get closer to "set solid". You can do this by setting the lineHeight to 100%. Or you may wish to leave a couple of percent for the descenders of the previous line. Or, another alternative that may work well for you if you really know exactly where you want the line set, you could measure the graphic, add on the number of extra pixels to leave for the descenders, and make the lineHeight a constant. So you could do something like this:
    <img lineHeight="104%" height="411"/>
    or this:
    <img lineHeight="423" height="411"/>
    Obviously you would still need to specify the source and any other parameters you want on the image.
    Note that if you are trying to fit a 200 pixel high graphic into a 200 pixel high container, you will hit the same problem -- in order to fit the graphic, the container will have to be slightly bigger than the graphic in order to fit the descenders on the last line. This is true even if the last line contains only the graphic, and no descenders (or text) at all.
    Hope this helps,

  • Page Orientation Automatically Changes on Changing Page Width & Height

    Problem in Crystall Report 2008
    If I change the Page Width & Height of report in Page Setup, page Orientation Automatically Changes according to the width of page.
    Is there any way to avoid this or this is Bug in Crystall Report 2008 ?
    Is there any way to avoid this serious problem ? Programatically in .Net or In Crystall Report 2008
    Designer ?
    Is this a know Bug ?
    Solution Please..

    The issue can be divided into two problems:
    (1) CR automatically change the orientation according to the page size
    (2) Print result is wrong when the orientation is automatically changed
    For (1), this doesn't have an effect in the design of the report, in fact, if you try the same operation in Microsoft Word 2007, you can perceive the same behavior.
    For (2), this is the really crucial problem.  Itu2019s not fully fixed in SP2, this is currently planned to be addressed in SP3.
    There may be a possibility that you can get your hands on a patch instead of waiting for SP3.  Open a support case, if you don't have a maintenance contract you can purchase a single case of support from here:
