100% width slide show misaligns content placed over it

I have been able to replicate this a few times and was wondering if anyone had any insight or the same issue:
1. Add 100% width slide show (full page) to page from widget menu.
2. Once established, add 100% width rectangle at top ( this is where logo and horizontal menu will go)
3. Add logo and menu over 100% width rectangle.
4. Change opacity of rectangle to 64%
5. Publish to BC
Upon publish, the rectangle gets pushed up about 40px and the logo and menu and pushed down about 20px. It seems something gets inserted? Very frustrating. I have tried putting the slide show in a separate layer as well. No luck.
on PC, windows 7 ultimate.

Full page/width slide show - you can see that I only deleted the captions and arrows - no other changes to slideshow.
Full page slide show with a rectangle (no border, opacity 77%. height: 102px)
Tagline over the rectangle.
Logo Rectangle with "Logo" text over that.
You can see the transparent rectangle gets pushed up, the other elements remain in place.
I can replicate this over and over and just did this example on a Windows machine again - different computer.

How can you create a screen width slide show?

I have created screen width images that resize depending on the screen resolution using the fill option.
However, when I use any of the slide show widgets and size them to the edge of the site, it doesn't fill the screen width on the live mode. It always leaves a margin.
What can I do?

Widgets do not support full width or responsive. I hope they do support it in the near future though.

Trying to overlay photo slide show over video

Hi, I'm relatively new to iMovie but couldn't seem to work this one out myself.
I've have video of myself talking, and without disrupting the audio track, I would like to overlay a photo slide show of still images over part of my dialog, but can't figure out how to do this. Ideally, the video would fade out/fade in to the photo slide show, but the audio track would remain constant, and then when the photo slide show is completed, fade out/fade in to the straight video again.
Anyone know how to do this?

Select the clip with the audio and use Clip>Detach Audio. You have to put the stills on the main video track because you can't add transition to stills or clips on the overlay or B-roll track. Once the audio is separated you can replace the picture with stills and start building your slideshow on the video track.

Can you automate an iPad keynote presentation like a slide show?

I have a very basic keynote presentation that I've created on my iPad 2. No fancy transitions, etc. Essentially slides with pictures and information. I need to have it run like a slide show and repeat itself over and over for a static display. Can someone help me accomplish this?

VCD slide show

Using Elements 4 in win I get pretty alful results when burning a VCD slide show to a CD. It is really slow, whole process takes almost 20 seconds per slide to process and burn and video quality is poor. I can export the same picture file to ProShow Gold, use their transistions and burn a VCD in about 5 seconds per slide. Picture quality is also about 4 times better. Is this just the way it is, or is there a better way to get a disk that shows both on PC and TV. JPEG files work great but no transistions.........roy barker

You can not burn a slide show to a DVD for playing on your TV using Photoshop Elements 4.
1) The following techdoc describes the possible interfaces to make the DVD from Adobe Premiere Elements

techdoc says PSE 3, but I believe it is the same for PSE 4.
2) You can save the slide show within PSE 4, as a WMV file and then use other software to author the DVD (encode as MPEG2 format and build folder structure required for TV DVD players). For example, My DVD player came with a limited version of Sonic MyDVD and I have made a TV playable DVD using this process. (Of course, you can do this same process using PSE 3.)
General comments:
Any time you save the slide show first as a WMV file and then separately make the MPEG2 DVD, there is some degradation of the image quality. So in the above sequences, this is only this avoided by doing the Send to Premiere Elements command. However, when doing a slide show (video) of family snapshots, you may still be OK on quality with the WMV then DVD steps and it will be significantly better than a VCD from PSE 4.
Purchasing PSE 4 for the purpose of making slide shows has disappointed many people. Its slide show functions are enhanced over PSE 3, but as I mentioned there is still no DVD burning in PSE. Spending your money on a separate slide show program might be a more cost effective choice if your top priority is slide shows. If you are purchasing PSE 4 for other reasons, then I suggest experimenting.
If you consider purchasing Premiere Elements, be sure to check the hardware and software requirements very, very, very carefully. You need Windows XP as a starter, but the processor requirements are also significantly higher.

Batch colour change for iPhoto slide shows?

My G4 Powerbook is correctly calibrated to produce beautiful, true prints from my Canon 5D. However, when I want to show these shots in a slide show the colour is over-saturated. It looks terrible. My projector is a Mitsubishi HC 1100. No controls on the projector will allow de-saturating. I have tried other types and brands with same result (BenQ and Panasonic).
I experimented by de-saturating a shot in PS by 20%. It now looks fine on the projector screen but washed out on the PBook.
Is there a way to de-saturate my slide show of 400 shots in iPhoto?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. With the projector connected launch ColorSync Utility (located in your Applications/Utilities folder) and see if it's recognized and there's any way to change the color profile it uses. You can do that for printers with their drivers so it may be so with the projector.
I believe GraphicConverter and do a batch desaturate but you'll have to export those files out of iPhoto to a folder before running GC.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. I have 150 inch projection screen at home and using
Epson home lite cinema projector 1080p. I am taking photos with
Nikon d40 camera RAW images and using Aperture 3.0.
I have final cut pro hd 4.5 . I am willing to buy any other software, hardware
In order to finish this 100 photo slide show since it means more than
anything for me. but I want to make sure it looks blu ray quality on my

I suggest you try a program called Photo to Movie. See link below. I have used this
application for many years, and it will do all that you need. It takes about 15 minutes
to learn and can give very sophisticated results. You can export from program to final
delivery, or go onto FCP if needed.

120 bpm slide show

Dear Sliders,
Keynote 6.2 is not stable in terms of duration here.
My durations are
0,5 sec for the transition (crossfade) on every slide and
1,5 seconds for holding each slide.
I have 30 slides
Altogether 2 seconds per slide which run out of sync to a quantized beat. No big deal, however...
My keynote quick time export does not fit in a 120 bpm musical playback for a photo slide show and is bended over time (slides are changed later more and more over time).
AND
I had that same issue 2 years ago...;-))
How to work around that. I need good software for my work. Is Keynote okay here? Just a workflow thing, I guess...;-))

It's either a problem with that album, or a problem with the chosen iTunes track.

I have tried much of the same - still no joy.
I also reported it as a bug to Apple although the response page said "we can't reply to messages"
For now I have had to turn off auto syncing and keep plugging and unplugging until the device is recognised correctly - about 1 in 10.
In my email to apple I also listed the contents of the xml file that keeps track of the devices that iTunes has seen:

You will see from the Use Count that these are adjacent connections, ie plugged in as ipad then as iphone. Apart from the device class, everything else is the same.

Slide show with fixed page width

I made this previously in another side (e.g. thaisailing.com): to have a slide show at 100% page width so that it scales from left to right, independant of the window size. But this time it will not succeed. If I take a rectancle and fill it with one image, it works fine. But not with a slide show element. It always goes back to the side of the inner space only. How can I have a slide show with full page with (not full screen)? Thanks,

IDVD slide shows and DVD ROM contents?

No problem making slide shows, but iDVD will not copy ALL of the hi-res pics, seems to have a mind of its own and drops short. ie. 3 slide shows of 100 pics each it will copy 87, 55, 85 hi-res pics only. 5 slide shows of 100 each it will copy 80, 52, 85, 88, 90 hi-res pics only. Has anybody got any ideas please.

iDVD isn't always happy about working with lots of multi-megapixel images and can't use all the quality. See iDVD 6.0 Help-Preparing images for DVD slideshows at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iDVD/6.0/en/17.html for information on recommended sizes. Things will go a lot faster with the smaller images mentioned in that help file.
You can always manually add content to the DVD-ROM area. See iDVD 6.0 Help - Adding files to the DVD-ROM portion of a disc at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iDVD/6.0/en/74.html
My recommendation: use 720x540 images for the slideshow and manually add the high res images to the DVD-ROM area.

Adobe Muse 100% Width Content

Hi! I'm trying to follow this tutorial: Adobe Muse Tutorial - Responsive Design Hack! by MuseThemes.com - YouTube
The idea is that using text box, making it 100% width then cutting and pasting your content in it, it will be responsive like that. However, I've had no luck. I followed it over 3 times, did exactly what he did and did not get the same result. The result I got was content that just centers but does not stack like that once the browser is shrank.

Seems text frame is not full width , please try to check and make that full width and preview. It should work with full width frame.

My iPod touch is synced to my old Mac and I have a new PC. Now when I plug my iPod into the new computer it will make the connection sound, but will not show up in my iTunes. I do not care to have the content copied over. Any suggestions?
