Hello, since few days, I receive 1000's of failed mail delivery....notices
mails are sent using new e-mail adresses from my domaine...it's becoming crazy and the guys at our hosting can't seem to fix it.

That means that a spammer somewhere in the world has spoofed your e-mail address as From. There's nothing you can do about it. Just wait it out and they'll move on to someone else's address.

Mail delivery and received sounds have stopped
Recently the "whoosh" sound that accompanies mail being sent simply stopped working. A couple of days later the incoming mail alert stopped as well. In all other respects, my Mac mini seems to be working just fine. I'm running the most current OS version. Any ideas? Should I be worried about an impending system failure?
If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.

When you are sending messages from the Messages app, it defaults to an iMessage as apposed to SMS. To send an SMS, you have to manually select the cell phone number to send a message out as SMS. To do that, click on the persons name in the To: box and select their cell phone number.

URGENT! PLS HELP... using JAMES as mail server
hi, first of all... happy new year to everyone...
i am currently developing a web based application and one of the component in the system is using JAMES as mail server. I am done some modification in config.xml in JAMES, now the problem is i can only send internal mails instead of external one, such as hotmail and yahoo.
The error occurs as below:-
RemoteDelivery: Exception delivering message (Mail1041375079561-0-!448616653-to-hotmail.com) - Could not connect to SMTP host: hotmail.com, port: 25
How can i send mails to hotmail and yahoo users or any other external mail?
Can anyone pls help me to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance.sounds like a network problem rather than a JAMES problem. Have you confirmed that you can ping the hotmail mail server, and then that you can "telnet" in to it on port 25?
If you have a windows machine handy, you can find out the IP address of hotmail's primary mail server by using nslookup:
C:\>nslookup
set type=MX
hotmail.comIf you don't get anything from this, it would indicate a DNS problem. Once you have the IP address, try to telnet to it on port 25:
C:\>telnet 65.54.254.129 25

If you aren't able to connect, it's probably either a firewall at your end blocking outbound TCP traffic on port 25 (or possibly all ports), or a DNS issue, or some sort of routing issue with your ISP -

Sender receiving endless mail delivery system notifications
For the past 25 hours (or so) a friend has been receiving REPEATED messages from Mail Delivery System saying:
"This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification. Delivery to the following recipeints is still under way after 25.6 hour(s.): [email protected] Will keep trying and contact you if the message can't be delivered permanently."
How can I/she stop these? She eventually resent the message and all is well, but that original notification regarding the original message is still out there and driving her crazy. DOZENS of these things are being sent by Mail.How can I/she stop these?
You can't. Eventually they'll time out and stop. Meanwhile you can create a Mail rule to delete the notices automatically. -
Hello I send imessages to a phone number I receive delivery notice but sms does not show on receiving phone. Otherwise when receive imessage from other phone I reply and receiver sees SMS !!! Any explanation ?
To my knowledge, I've only seen this for imessage only and not SMS.
The other users would need to have send read receipts enabled on their phone. -

E-mail Delivery receipts cannt be received.

I have a small query regarding JavaMail. I cannot receive e-mail delivery receipts. I have set the property Return-Receipt-To to the header of the email. Please find the email header of the email bellow. What can be the problem? I checked my mail server, It sends delivery receipts to the mail sent thought mail clients (outlook)

Receiving "Mail Delivery System" when Email is sent...why?
Every time I send an email via my mac mail, I always get a Mail Delivery System email containing different content such as: [Return Code 554] sid: d61F1m00P408TaZ01 or [Return Code 550] sid: d61F1m00P408TaZ01. It was also brought to my attention that those receiving my emails are getting them but they are also getting an extra email with a crazy unknown link. Help! How do I correct this? I'm receiving a number of emails that say " mail delivery system", and they are not in my sent items. So I've tried to do the virus scan and nothing is coming up. Now the "real" emails I need to send to clients are not going through because I've used up all my space and or number of emails for one day. Please help!
