1036601 - Cannot close row in PurchaseSales order documents

Hi All,
while closing a row of SO manually, we are getting an error message , "Document rows cannot be closed concurrently with the other document modifications you have made
[Sales Order - Rows - Row status]".
I checked sap note and not sure what the solution says. The solution from sap note is mentioned below;
Solution
Workaround: Add the new row at the end of the document.
Can Any one please explain??

Hi Joseph,
The solution provided in the note is only a work around. Simply speaking, that is because there might be a bug in the application that you have to add a new row to close the document.

Close Rows in Purchase Order And Sales Order

Hi,
My user account is set as super user with all the access right. I manage to close rows in PO and SO but some of my colleague which is not a super user don't have the Close Rows right when we want to close an item in the document rows instead of Delete Rows.
Please advice where I could set this.

Give the user authorization under General - Close Document.
If you only want them to have close row right, I don't think there is any out of the box solution.

Closed Sales Order With Open Rows-Cannot Close Rows

Hi,
As the title states we have one SO which is closed and the 1st Row is also closed but the 7 other rows are showing as open so they appear on reports etc
We can close the rows individually but when we go back to the SO they are open again! Could this be a bug in 2007 SP00 PL8 ?

Just to let you know I did find something relating to an issue when SOs are created on SAP 2005 systems.
In order to verify whether this issue affects you database, we ran the following select query in the Query Generator:
SELECT T0.DocNum, T1.DocEntry ,T1. LineNum, T1.ItemCode, T1.Price, T1.PriceBefDi, T1.Currency, T1.Rate FROM RDR1 T1 INNER JOIN ORDR T0 ON T0.DocEntry = T1.DocEntry WHERE ISNULL(T1.Price,0) = 0 AND ISNULL(T1.PriceBefDi,0) = 0 AND (ISNULL(T1.Rate,0) <> 0 OR ISNULL(Currency,'') <> '')
Any results mean that this is a big for SAP Support.

Close very old sales order documents

Experts:
We do not have this problem very often.
However sometimes when preparing archiving FI related documents, we do see some old documents still open.
Could you share your experience how to handle this situation in order to archive those old documents?

Archiving is a separate task. t-code is SARA while archiving you can define the date range and also the document status wise with preset deletion indicator.

Error on Sales Order - u201Cyou cannot open rows in the document"

Hi everyone,
Does anyone have any idea why this error would be occuring when a user tries to add a sales order?
u201Cyou cannot open rows in the document [sales order u2013Rows u2013 Rows status] [line0] [Message131 -194]?
If the user closes the sales order and then recaptures it, the sales order goes through. As you can imagine, the order clerks are getting a bit angry when their large orders have to be closed.

If it is affecting your business severly ,log a support to SAP .Meanwhile ,
Lets start some troubleshooting your system
1.Are you using formatted search in Sales Order
2.Are you using sp_transaction notification
3.Did you do any changes in your system recently like upgrade ,
4.Is it happen only to certain item or BP
Hint :
1.Disable all addon
2.Disable your formatted search
3.Disable sp_transaction notification
4.Try to create a sales order and .,
Does error occur again? Please also specify your SBO version and Patch level
<Note> Try test your issue test environment

Hi Deepa,
I think if you want to restrict the further editing of a particular row, then you just need to follow the simple procedure.
1. create the purchase order with your desired items & vendor & add this document
2. Now reopen it & goto that row which you want to restrict. Right click on that row & select "Close Row".
3. Select yes to confirmation message.
4.Now update the document.
Now you an check it out, in that document you will not be able to edit that row contents.
I hope this solves your issue.

Trapping System Form Close Row, Cancel Document, etc

Hi All,
I have an application which maintains Call-Off Sales and Purchase Orders by Creating Child Orders from a Parent. It maintains the outstanding quantities, etc, on the Parent when the Child is created. All of this is working fine, except....
If on CHILD document I select, either by right click or Data menu, the options Cancel, Close, Close Row etc. I cannot trap the event and adjust the Parent Order accordingly.
Running the SAP supplied Event Logger it is showing a Form Loading (Form 0) which is the confirmation request to perform the action. I cannot trap this event in my add-on as it does not seem to be passed outside of the standard SAP application. I have no event filtering on at this time so should be seeing ALL events.
Any ideas?

Thank you very much Anoop. I don't think I would have found that in a million years! One thing though...Your method works well for the Close/Cancel event but the Close Row/Cancel Row are a bit more tricky. I have managed to do it by saving the Document Rows in a ##TEMP table on DATA_LOAD and then re-reading the rows and comparing the contents on DATA_UPDATE. It works OK but seems a bit messy. Is there a way of identifying the Closed/Deleted rows provided in the API?

Cannot close purchase order

Hello,
We have an purcharse order with several lines.
Only 2 lines remain opened because open quantity is greater than 0.
We would like to close one of the lines through Data/Close Row. That line had a initial quantity of 1000 units, and 800 were delivered. The 200 units wont be delivered, so we need to close the line. However, when trying to update the purchase order this message is appearing:
"Another user-modified table" (POR1)
We have make sure noone else was connected to that purchase order.

We occcasionally got this problem and I would go home and try again in the morning and the problem had gone away. I am not sure why but it did. It may have something to do with all users having to log off.
We also had a lot of problems with a patch level and I think it was 43. We could not close lines on sales orders or update business partner records, I cannot recall trying to close PO lines at the time. The problem went away when we went to 44.
We have not had any of these problems with 2007.

When I open Pages, it opens all previous documents. But I cannot close them:if I try, the program crashes

Hello everyone.
Since middle february, Pages has not been working properly.
When I start the program, it opens by default a blank page. That was fine until recently. I would simply close it and open my desired document. But now I cannot close the blank document: if I do it, the program crashes.
I have bypassed the problem by simply minimizing the blank one and going along with my own documents... Unfortunately now the problem has increased, as it will not close any document.
Therefore when I start the program, it will re-open all the documents and it will crash all the time I try to close them.
Also, It will not let me save them or turn themm to PDF.
What can I do ?
I have also removed the previous software and I bought (again) Pages on the App Store last week... results: NONE!! it still won't work.

As I'm really besy this evening, I didn't read carefully the available message.
What you get is a Lion's feature named "Resume".
If you dislike me (as I do but I don't feel useful to rant against it) there are several ways to get rid of it.
(1) In theory, it's sufficient to uncheck a box in the General System PrefPane.
I wrote « in theory » because, at least in the French version this feature is broken.
(2) Some third party tools are delivered to rule the feature's behavior for each application.

On my machine, thanks to FastScripts, I attached a shortcut to this script.
So, when I press cmd +option + ctrl + Q I get this dialog :
On an English System, the buttons are :
Cancel, Restart, Shutdown.
When we trigger the last two, the folder storing the dats required by the system to apply « Resume » is emptied so when we restart the machine no extraneous window is opened.
I didn't described the way to reach the folder named Scripts.
I'm sur that Jerrold will do that with a better English.

Finance cannot close production order due to some PO# error message

When user is trying to close production order(using tcode CO02) getting error "..Production order #: Purchse order still exists..".
I would like to know what is the reson for this error and how user can close this production order.

Vijay actually basic problem is user is getting error "You cannot select assembly order 16600192 for deletion" when he is trying to delete one line item from sales order using tcode VA02...
-i said to close the production order
-but they said not able to close as they are getting error "purchase order still exists"
-said to close all purchase order
-they replied "We cannot close the open orders as some we are waiting for the materials to be arrived and some order are blanket orders. Why we don't have such problem all this while and now ? This is our common practise.
Is there any way of force closed for Finance since the SF material has been GR in 23/03/2006.We only need
to closed the order, that's all."

Cannot close Production Order due to cost

Hi experts,
I have a problem with a production order that I cannot close. I have confirmed the order, however instead of cancelling the confirmation, I used MIGO inorder to reverse the goods movement. In closing the order, I encountered an error due to the balance cost for production (labor, power, water, overhead). I cannot cancel the confirmation since it is returning an error which is a deficit in the quantity. This is maybe due to the reversals I have already made for the finished good and components using MIGO. I cannot already repost or cancel the goods movement since the period is already closed.
I really am hoping for your help regarding this so I may already close the order.

Since periods are already closed in MM, it is not
possible to post into these periods any more. There're two workarounds.
1. If you can close the orders with the balance, change the indicator
   in the settlement profile from 'To be settled in full' to 'Can be
   settled' or 'Not for settlement' temporarily. After you close the
   orders, change it back immediately.
2. Settle the order in KO88 twice with the following parameters:
   1) Settlement period    04
      Fiscal year          2009
      Posting period       06
   2) Settlement period    05
      Fiscal year          2005
      Posting period       06
You can check whether there's cost for the order in table COEP.
