1050c leading edge trims too much

Hi there,
I was trying to figure out if there is a way to make the 1050c trim less of the leading edge when loading a roll.  Every time I load a roll it trims about 4 inches; my old 750 could be loaded to only trim about 1/8 inch.
It sure adds up when I'm frequenly loading $250 rolls of mylar!
Any ideas?

Hello there Karey, Welcome to the Forums! I hope you enjoy your experience
I saw your post about the printing issue you are having with your Photosmart C410a. I would like to try and help you the best I can. My first suggestion would be to have you make a copy from the printer itself. The copy will let us know if the problem is with the printer hardware or coming from the computer (software issue). If the copy is alright, try printing from a different web browser.
Let me know the results from the copy and include which OS you are running.
Help to find which Operating System you are running:

  • Can too much memory lead to a kernel panic on a MacBook Pro? specs 2.4GHz intel core i7 16GB DDR3 RAM   late2011..My laptop began suffering from kernel panics 3 mos ago first noticed using public wifi. Gone thru apple support all the way to engineers

Can too much RAM memory in a late 2011 model macbook pro lead to kernel panic? That is what I was told by a senior supervisor from apple support who troubleshot this issue.First noticed this problem in Dec 2014 while using a private wifi at a relative's home. Did not occur again until Feb1 using a public wifi at a hotel. Never happened on my private wifi network until last night  attempting to use airplay. ( have used airplay before without issue). Late 2011 MacBook Pro running 10.9.5; 2.4 GHz Intel core i7, 16 GB DDR3,AMD Radeon HD 6770m 1024 MB graphic card.  The laptop came with 8GB RAM and I installed 8 GB about 2 years ago for some reason I cannot remember... probably because I thought the system was slowing down a little. I know that sounds silly. I do not run multiple programs at a time except I leave 6-8 website tabs open simultaneously. I don't photo or video edit.  I would describe my use as "light"  based on reading these blogs.I had purchased apple support and spent hours on the phone with them in early Feb moving up through support  and senior support to sending logs to the "engineers." Of course lots of things were done some of which I am sorry to report I cannot recall their technical definitions. Deleted  3rd party apps/programs; re-worked start up menu; re-installed operating system; reset " this, that and the other" using acrobatic simultaneous key strokes both in and out of safe mode..Anyway the results from the engineers came back and they suggested that if it happened again I was to remove the 8GB of RAM I had installed as the system was getting confused as to which chip to use.( that is my interpretation of what was said..prob dumbed down for me)...Anyway 1 day after these pronouncements came down I read that Apple had agreed to fix  graphics cards in some late model 2011 MBPs. I felt this was unlikely to be the issue  given all that had been done including an extended hardware test but called the Senior Support Supervisor I was working with to ask him to make sure. He never phoned me back. Should I go to the trouble of removing 8GB of RAM from my laptop? Of course I will try it as the alternative is a new computer.Blogs read that this model can support 16GB but Apple didn't test for it. Senior Supervisor claims this is my trouble.  Does that make sense?  Not to me....but it is clear to all my level of knowledge.  Can a malfunctioning graphics card be missed by an extended hardware test? I appreciate comments.

The RAM needs specs as shown below.
    Maximum Memory
16 GB (Actual) 8 GB (Apple)

I am getting  the below error at first time when I try to open a page or the page takes 3 to 5 mins to load. From second time on wards, It takes 5 to 8 sec to open as normal. I debugged the page and checked the log. Logs and execution time are looking normal.  why the page takes too much time to load at first time or it leads to proxy error?? Is anybody got same experience before??

Hi this is what the solution given by your link
A.1.6 Connection Timeouts Through a Stateful Firewall Affect System Performance
    Problem
To improve performance the mod_oc4j component in each Oracle HTTP Server process maintains open TCP connections to the AJP port within each OC4J instance it sends requests to.
In situations where a firewall exists between OHS and OC4J, packages sent via AJP are rejected if the connections can be idle for periods in excess of the inactivity timeout of stateful firewalls.
However, the AJP socket is not closed; as long as the socket remains open, the worker thread is tied to it and is never returned to the thread pool. OC4J will continue to create more threads, and will eventually exhaust system resources.
    Solution
The OHS TCP connection must be kept "alive" to avoid firewall timeout issues. This can be accomplished using a combination of OC4J configuration parameters and Apache runtime properties.
Set the following parameters in the httpd.conf or mod_oc4j.conf configuration files. Note that the value of Oc4jConnTimeout sets the length of inactivity, in seconds, before the session is considered inactive.
    Oc4jUserKeepalive on
    Oc4jConnTimeout 12000 (or a similar value)
Also set the following AJP property at OC4J startup to enable OC4J to close AJP sockets in the event that a connection between OHS and OC4J is dropped due to a firewall timeout:
    ajp.keepalive=true
    For example:
    java -Dajp.keepalive=true -jar oc4j.jar
Please tell me where or which file i should put the option
    java -Dajp.keepalive=true -jar oc4j.jar ??????/

  • There is too much space in the header

When I try to print a document or form the page comes out with too much space at the header and cuts off the bottom of the form or document. I've tried an auto alignment and that hasn't fixed the problem. Is there anything else I can adjust or try?
    Thank you!

    Hi crashingwaves,
Generally, to adjust the amount of header in your prints, you will need to adjust the settings with the printing application.  When printing on plain paper, a very narrow header is often required.  Unless you are attempting to print to the leading edge of the paper, the header size should be within the printer's range.
What type of paper are you printing on?  What is the size of the header that you need?  Also, what application are you printing from?

Use ethernet and see if you can delete the folders.. as long as you have them stored elsewhere.
The TC is not a NAS.. it is not designed as a file store.. even attempting to use it that way can lead to issues.

  • External HD claims to be drawing too much power, after 2 months of working

I have a 2.5" external HD enclosure from Mad Dog Multimedia that uses two USB connections, one for data and one for power. It's been working fine with my new Macbook Pro since I bought it several months ago, and continues to work fine with other comptuers. Last night I got a message that it was drawing too much power and the ports would be shut off. I unplugged and replugged it, and it continued to work all evening. This morning however, no matter what I do, it continues to tell me that its drawing too much power. This is baffling to me, because it has worked for the last few months, and still works on other computers, leading me to believe that something is wrong with my USB ports. Unfortunately I don't have much in the way of other USB devices I can use to test this hypothesis. Has anyone else encountered similar problems, and have you been able to resolve them successfully?

In the event you haven't done this already, shut down the computer and remove the external drive. Wait at least one or two minutes. Restart the computer then reconnect the external drive. See if your problem is resolved.
Try repairing the hard drive and permissions:
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation complete. I also suggest you run Repair Disk on the external drive as well while you still have DU running. Now quit DU and return to the installer. Restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger, and 4.1 for Leopard) and/or TechTool Pro (4.6.1 for Leopard) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
If the above does not work, it is possible there's a problem with your OS X installation. It's difficult to know what that may be so you will need to experiment. First, restart the computer in safe mode. If this doesn't result in the problem ceasing, then try creating a new user account. Log out of your account and log into the new one. If this doesn't result in the problem going away, then more extreme measures are needed: reinstalling OS X. You might give this a try:
How to Perform an Archive and Install
An Archive and Install will NOT erase your hard drive, but you must have sufficient free space for a second OS X installation which could be from 3-9 GBs depending upon the version of OS X and selected installation options. The free space requirement is over and above normal free space requirements which should be at least 6-10 GBs. Read all the linked references carefully before proceeding.
    1. Be sure to use Disk Utility first to repair the disk before performing the Archive and Install.
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. If no errors are reported, then quit DU and return to the installer.
    2. Do not proceed with an Archive and Install if DU reports errors it cannot fix. In that case use Disk Warrior and/or TechTool Pro to repair the hard drive. If neither can repair the drive, then you will have to erase the drive and reinstall from scratch.
    3. Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When you reach the screen to select a destination drive click once on the destination drive then click on the Option button. Select the Archive and Install option. You have an option to preserve users and network preferences. Only select this option if you are sure you have no corrupted files in your user accounts. Otherwise leave this option unchecked. Click on the OK button and continue with the OS X Installation.
    4. Upon completion of the Archive and Install you will have a Previous System Folder in the root directory. You should retain the PSF until you are sure you do not need to manually transfer any items from the PSF to your newly installed system.
    5. After moving any items you want to keep from the PSF you should delete it. You can back it up if you prefer, but you must delete it from the hard drive.
    6. You can now download a Combo Updater directly from Apple's download site to update your new system to the desired version as well as install any security or other updates. You can also do this using Software Update.

About a week ago I wrote about problems we encountered during development when
an xsql page does an insert, insert fires a trigger, trigger calls procedure to process
data, xsql page does a select from output table to return
    We had 2 problems:
    1) ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [qmxsqLoadNS], [], [], [], [], [], [], [] Current SQL statement for this session:
    2) Output came not beyond a certain limit
Problem 1 is recognized as bug by Oracle Support in 9.2.0.4, 9.2.05 and 9.2.0.6 Solved in 10.2 Unknown what is fixed
Bug is described in 3872147 . I'm still trying to convince them to do something about it because in 3 weeks we have go live with this
software and my alert is full with this ora-0600 Bug is definitely caused by the trigger
Problem 2 is solved, this was caused by getting output through a xmltype column which in xsql relates to
a plsql string with size limitation on 64k

  • App stops working when given too much xml

I have an AS3 application I built for a client about a year
ago. The application loads a dynamic page of xml data and then
builds the screen using that data. He has used the application
happily for a year and recently complained that it stopped working
and asked me to debug. It turns out the number of items in my
client's database have exceeded 1200 items and at ROUGHLY that
magic number the screen fails to build (I determined this through
trial and error by trimming down the data page). There is nothing
in my code that alludes to any limit. I don't believe this is a
problem of the xml data CFM taking too long to pull from the
database (for debug purposes I have hardcoded that data page to
eliminate a slow database issue). My IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR function
is never called, so the app seems to be under the impression it is
reading the XML completely. The BuildScreen() function simply loops
through the .length of the xml, so there are no limits there I have
purposely imposed. The application definitely stops at this magic
number of 1200 (give or take 5-10 items). There are no errors in
the xml data itself. At this magic number of 1200 if I refresh the
page over and over it works sometimes and fails others. If I add 20
more items to the list it never loads. If I delete 20 items it
always works. I'm going to put the code in its entirety below. I
would SO MUCH appreciate if someone can help me understand what is
    going on. Thankyou.

I quickly threw this code together to try to describe
by problem. I didn't think it was prudent to post all
the code in my web app. (servlet happens to be the
context path, and I just threw the tag in to duplicate
the problem I'm having).Prudence is your call, but nobody will be able to help unless they can see what the problem is.
It's a difficult call, because posting too much will scare people off, too. (I know I don't want to read your entire app.)
The log doesn't really help.Neither does this post.
Needless to say, you've got a deployment problem. Tomcat 5.0 works; so does the JSTL 1.1 tag library. You're doing something wrong.
If you've never used JSTL before, I'd recommend that you read something serious, like Hans Bergsten's O'Reilly book on JSPs. He writes it entirely in terms of JSTL, because that's what people should use from now on. I think his 3rd edition even has the JSTL 1.1 tag library.

  • FOR GURUS: Over Current Notice - USB device drawing too much power

    Hi,
When I plug a USB extender cable to any USB port on any Mac tested so far, I get the warning:
"USB Over Current Notice. The USB device is currently drawing too much power. The port it is attached to will be deactivated".
In fact, that freezes the Mac mouse and keyboard until the USB extender cable is unplugged, and renders the used USB port unusable until the next restart.
What is going on? Such extender cable worked fine until Virtual PC was open with Windows XP XP2 in safe mode on an iMac G5 (20-inch) with Mac OS X 10.4.3. A 1GB flash pen was inserted, and its files were seen via "My computer". Then the flash pen was taken out (without properly ejecting it via Windows) and someone inserted a 2.2 GB USB hard disk, which froze the Mac and caused the reported problem from that moment.
So it seems that the USB cable is now somehow defective, but I wonder if it could be fixed, since it does not seem to have any internal circuit but just the USB connectors and cables. So I wonder what is going on...
    Thanks.

    ¡Hola, Gabriel!
USB Overcurrent Protection issues arise when one or more of the USB devices draw too much power or, by adding a device to a USB hub, one exceeds the current budget for the entire chain. A detailed explanation can be found in this article, where it states:"Should the cumulative current drawn by a group of downstream ports exceed a preset value, the overcurrent protector removes power from all downstream ports. Overcurrent circuits are used to protect against catastrophic device failures, software errors that lead to devices turning on when the current budget has been exceeded, and user-caused events such as the shorting out of connector pins."See also "USB: Hub Description" for important information on self-powered vs. bus-powered UBS hubs.
Your Apple Pro keyboard is a bus-powered USB hub. Some displays continaing USB ports may act as either bus-powered or self-powered hubs: one has to consult the display's documentation for details.
    • If USB Overcurrent problems arise using a bus-powered, third-party USB hub, try a self-powered hub or connect the USB device directly to one of the built-in USB ports on the computer itself.
    • If USB Overcurrent Protection issues arise when a device is connected directly to one of the built-in USB ports on the computer itself, then the peripheral device or its cable is either damaged or defective.
Note that you can not put two bus-powered hubs in series. In addition to the article "USB: Hub Description", see also "Apple Pro Keyboard: Devices Connected to Hub May Not Work."
    Good luck!

  • Whay the itunes take too much ram

the itunes take too much ram in 16 gig pit  windows

Well recalling an old post, is just stating the fact that the program is still doing the same thing. And i do concurr that itunes is one of my bigger ram hogs but i have no problem with 16gigs of ram installed. As coder myself, i know it is possible for them to rework itunes to dump cache periodically so that it doesnt hog as much ram as it does.
Itunes is falling behind times as Solid State Drives are becoming more prevelant in computers, they shouldn't need to cache as much as it does currently and hogging system resources. But then again on the other hand, they are  probably thinking that it is not a problem anymore since the standard for most computers/laptop is upwards of 4gigs+. Still is poor coding on apple's behalf that wont be recognized this late in the game.
    In reply to Zak,
As of right now apple is on downward slope according to stock market quotes. But they have a few products that are coming out here soon that will bounce them back easily. After that, I am not sure.
    In reply to Richb1910,
Comparing Apple to Mircosoft now a days is like comparing apple to oranges. Their companies have taken different paths, yes one may be better then the other in their choice of paths. But as it stands microsoft is still the leading home user operating system and server operating system for many major companies. Apple excels with their product lines which make them a very successful company. To say on or the other is barely staying above water is by far the wildest thing i have ever heard.

  • Would there b any problme on storing too much varibales in Session variable

How many maximum number of attributes i can store in Session ? Would there be any kind of problem ?

The limit depends on Integer.MAX_VALUE and the JVM memory available. Just profile your webapp to see if it doesn´t eat too much memory.
That said, how much is "much"? In a decent webapplication you normally don´t need to worry about it. Are you sure that your webapplication is properly designed? Consult your project architect/lead.

  • Is this screen normal? or too much leakage?

    Hey Guys!
please check http://sandosh.in/shot.jpg for the shot.
I'm new to the Notebook world. and my first lappie hapens to be a MacBook. But there seems to be a problem recently with the lcd. From which ever(vertical) angle I look at the LCD, and from top to bottom the brigtness/contrast is not even, infact it increases and is more bright towards the bottom. Is this normal? is this called leakage?
How can check if everything is normal with the LCD?
BTW I am running the white MacBook 2GHz with 2GB RAM.
    Thanks!
    Macbook   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

That looks like far too much separation between the bezel and the panel. I've seen it on the sides and that is either there and needs to be fixed (backlight visible from the side), or flush and black just to the edge of the lcd. If I tilt my screen and really stare at the bottom of the screen between the bezel I can just about make out some lights or reflectors (or liver spots or something). The point being that isn't normal at all. It's almost unbelievable. Is there a big gap at the bottom the screen? Like big enough to shove a quarter in (don't do it)? I think you're seeing the bottom being lit up from the front and the fingerprints look a lot worse because the light is shining right up along a plane onto the screen.
BTW...do NOT clean it w/ even a damp anything if it's got a gap like that. I hope that's lens flare in the upper right.
I'm sure this will be remedied quickly by apple.

  • Superdrive USB hub power drawing too much power

Bought a new Air 1.8 SSD today including the SuperDrive. Powered the new MacBook Air, plugged in the Superdrive, and much to my dismay I get an OSX error indicating the Superdrive is drawing too much power. Net result, the Superdrive fails to mount - not too super.
    Has anyone else encountered this?
    Cheers

Apple store called me today, the replacement SuperDrive was available. When I was in the store picking mine up, I asked them to verify the replacement worked. It did, so I am good to go.
While I was in the store, another customer was there for a different SuperDrive problem. His SuperDrive would not accept disks. He'd insert a disk, the drive would not draw the disk in. He received a replacement SuperDrive as well.
When I left the store they only had one SuperDrive left.
Later this afternoon I received a call from Apple Care. The Apple Tech person indicated they were closely monitoring roll-out of the MacBook Air and wanted to make sure my problems were resolved.
I was absolutely stunned by the phone call.
Imagine the attention to detail needed to effect that kind of person to person follow-up. Early adopters like me expect to run into challenges with first generation products. It comes with the territory when you live on the bleeding edge. I've owned literally dozens of DOS/OS2/Windows computers over the last 28 years, and in all that time I have never received a follow-up call like this.
I should have switched a long time ago.

  • Malicious or not? Message popped up: Mozilla security found (something like too much, forget exact word) activity on your computer so it will do a fast scan of system file. With OK button.

I was looking at youtube.com, which always tells me my browser is not supported and recommends I download Firefox, but that is what I was using, so I went to Firefox to check for updates. (I think I also had freecycle.org open.) Then this message popped up in a new page: Mozilla security found (something like "too much", forget exact word) activity on your computer so it will do a fast scan of system file. There was an OK button. The page address was: http://update17.stegner.ce.ms/index.php?Q7Lhl9ShbRxGJXpkM1VLSi4ZE8H4pTedoVPySgeppM3VpC+thEspcFG7qxHgn1pdsC2h5ygPGWI3t5hXqMzL9EQaZZ3J1e3CKXgCb0Qp. I did not click OK but copied the link and closed the window which closed the internet. I have never seen this before and would like to know if it is really Mozilla or possibly something malicious. Thank you.

Good catch. That almost certainly is an invitation to download malware.
There are a lot of infected web sites pushing "fake antivirus" software. If you have any doubts about whether your system might have become infected, you can supplement your regular security software with these two highly regarded scanners:
