I guess the only option left is to uninstall packages. You should be able to find a directory on CD where those packages are located and then run smth like
$ pkgrm *
(most package names start with SPRO)
Of course, you should expect some of pkgrm's to fail because not all packages has been installed.

  • "no bootable device" on rMBP Win 7 x64 install

I'm trying to install Win7 Premium Home x64 on my rMBP. I follow the the Bootcamp wizard, which makes a USB drive from the Win7 ISO I made from my other computer (used ISO Buster on Windows 7, transferred to an ExFAT formatted USB drive). It reboots after the partition, takes about 3 minutes and then attempts to enter the Win7 setup. I get a black screen which says:
No Bootable device -- Insert boot disk and press any key
What should I do? I've tried this with a USB3 flash drive, and USB2 flash drive, and an external USB HDD. No dice.

I'm having this same issue: I'm even on my second Windows ISO (the first was from my Windows installation DVD, the second from Microsoft's site), and I'm on my second bootable USB method (used Bootcamp the first time, and then in the Windows Startup USB disk a second time). I've tried a FAT parttion and an NTFS partition.
I just keep getting the error.
Is this error message referring to the HDD being unbootable, or the USB drive?

  • 12c Client: How to Resolve Error [INS-30131] on Win7 x64 Install?

    Hi all,
I'm getting an error message I can't figure out on the Oracle 12c client installer.
I have 11g client installed on my machine. I took the following steps:
Downloaded the 12g client for x64 from Oracle's web site.
    Extracted the zip file.
Right-clicked on "Setup.exe" and selected "Run as Administrator."
Passed the OUI monitor check and it prepped the install from a temp directory.
    Installer opens
I select a custom installation type (I'm really only looking for the odp.net managed DLLs) and click next.
I skip software updates and click Next.
I see the following error message: "[INS-30131] Initial setup required for the execution of installer validations failed." Cause: "Failed to access the temporary location".
I'm not sure what temporary location it's trying to access, but I'm a network administrator, with full admin rights on my box, running the program with elevated permissions and entering my credentials to do so.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated

I had the same situation, when I was running the installer 2nd time (installing both 32-bit and 64-bit drivers for some reason). I found following articles on metalink:
"[INS-30131] The initial setup that is required to run the installation program validation was not successful " Error While Installing 12.1 (Doc ID 1569962.1)
Installation of 11gR2 on Windows Fails Checking Requirements (Doc ID 1133495.1)
Neither of them was helpful. After some time of poking around I noticed service OracleRemExecServiceV2 running from location C:\Users\<MyUsername>\AppData\Local\Temp\2\\oraremservicev2\RemoteExecService.exe - I stopped it and re-ran Oracle client installer. It solved the problem for me.

    Regards,
    Reza

    Hi Reza,
Increasing the memory is not always the case.  Depending on the amount of physical RAM, JDK release, usage types, # instances of SAP on the same server, # server nodes, you might consider decreasing the max heap size memory settings for the j2ee server.  Again, the max heap size (plus max perm size) of all Java server nodes must fit completely into the physical memory along with other processes.
Please refer to the following note.

  • Windows x64: install went fine but will not read from write to any ipod

Quicktimes 7.0.4 and the latest version of Itunes is installed and everything has worked fine other than I can not add any music to any of the three ipods that i have at my house(Pretty Big Freakin Problem). I have read previous posts and understand that apple posted that itunes does not support x64, but does anyone have any idea if there will ever be a supported version? Or should I just sell or get rid of my ipods? The apple post doesn't even say if they are going to work on this upgrade. Any help in solving this issue or letting me know if this is just a dead end, would be greatly appreciated.

  • Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (x64) install error

I am trying to install a management product's agent for package distribution. I have worked with the vendor and they are stating its a Microsoft issue with the OS.
    Here is the error:
Product: Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (x64) -- Error 1935.An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT,type="win32",version="8.0.50727.4053",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="amd64"'.
    Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x80073715. assembly interface: IAssemblyCacheItem, function: Commit, component: {844EFBA7-1C24-93B2-A01F-C8B3B9A1E18E}
I can install other versions of the Visual C++ redist without issue. I cannot find an install for the version listed in the error message. From what I have gathered the server (Windows Server 2008 SP2) is missing assemblies in the winsxs folder.
Is it possible to copy these assemblies from another server and create the associated registry keys? Can someone point me to the correct folders and registry values if this is possible?
I have tried installing from an elevated command prompt using the agent install file supplied by the vendor. I have exported the version of C++ redist from install package and tried installing it from an elevated command prompt.
I also ran an sfc /scannow and it found corruption that it cannot repair. I can post the log if needed. If shows a lot of transactions with the following output:
0000000c Call to uninstall failed, the TLC is not currently installed by that installer
I have tried using the .net framework repair tool as well. I have also tried reinstalling .net framework 3.5 sp1.
Suggestions and thoughts? This server cannot be rebuilt as it is highly utilized.

    Hello Justin,
The problem is not clear just from the error 1935. Could you please try the solution listed on the following page and see the results?
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-windows_programs/error-1935an-error-occurred-during-the/7105ee7e-ab45-4bd2-b5db-a3e9002f7f9e
You may need to do some clean reboot on your OS. The problem is indeed related to your OS.
    Best regards,
    Barry

  • Solaris x64 install (wan boot / flash archive)

    Hi,
I need to install a Solaris x64 on a x2200m2, it's the first Sun machine on that network, no boot server or jumpstart server around.
I am thinking to use wan boot on x64, but it seems that wan boot only support sparc platform, is that true?
the other way i want to do is to make a bootable dvdrom with flash archive in it. anyone have experience on that?
    dk

There is actually a Sun blueprint for creating a boot DVD with flash archive integrated.
I don't have it handy; but it covers the basics.

  • X64 install fails

I have a X64 AMD system with Solaris 10 08/07 installed. I tried to run the installer from the CD but it failed part-way through. Now, when I try to run it again, all the selections are greyed-out and it will not allow me to select anything in the installer GUI.

I guess the only option left is to uninstall packages. You should be able to find a directory on CD where those packages are located and then run smth like
    $ pkgrm *
(most package names start with SPRO)
Of course, you should expect some of pkgrm's to fail because not all packages has been installed.

  • P6N diamond - Vista x64 install problem

    Hey.
I’m the happy owner of a MSI P6N Diamond, but I have some problems when I try to install Vista.
My system as it is now:
    CPU: E6600
    GFX: 7900GT
    RAM: 2x1gb Cell Shock PC6400
Running XP SP2 without problems on 2x36gb raptors in RAID0
Yesterday I decided to try Vista x64, because I have 2gb extra ram that I want to use. So I took one of my old IBM PATA 120gb HDDs, and tried to install vista x64, but then I ran into a problem. When I get to the point where it says "Completing Installation" and "Your Computer will restart several times during installation" It restarts but then nothing happens. The screen just went black (and the monitor is switching off), and I can hear the computer is still running (and there is still light in mouse and keyboard). If I try to restart, the the vista loading bar appears and then the same thing happens. Black screen and then nothing.
    What to do?
I have tried disconnecting all my other drives and I have tried with only one memory block (1gb)
    Hope somebody can help me
    /Christian

    Inside,
I had similar issues when I first installed Vista and I don't think it installed correctly as it is...
One thing I noticed was that the Memory in particular is undervolted with this board if the bios is set to auto. Make sure you manually set the voltage to your RAM manufacturers voltage. Do the same thing with the timings and speed...
I had everything set to auto at first and I couldn't even get Vista to unpack 100% until I manually set things...
I need to reinstall windows I think because my installation is still messed up as I didn't change the timings until I started getting BSOD on first boot... Try it let us know if it works.

  • Z77A-G43 (MS-7758) problem with Win x64 install

    Hello,
    Motherboard is Z77A-G43 (MS-7758) latest bios v2.7.
I would like to install Windows x64 on 3TB GPT disk.
In accordance with the product description "3TB+ Infinity is not only breaking through the limit of traditional BIOS, but also enhancing the utilization of hard drives efficiently. In addition to supporting the latest 3TB hard drives, MSI 3TB+ Infinity technology can use the 3TB hard drive as boot disk when installing a 64-bit operating system. Compared to competitors, MSI 3TB+ Infinity is an industry-leading technology which substantially presents an advantage of development and application in the future."
HDD is ST3000VX000-9YW166 connected as SATA AHCI. The device is recognized by the bios.
To make sure that I use EFI, I boot with EFI shell and run BOOTx64.EFI from Windows install disk. I select the ST disk. It has one system partition of size about 128mg, the rest of the disk is unallocated. When I attempt to install Windows on the ST disk, I get the message "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu."
What should I do to make Windows install on this disk?
    Thanks.

    Did you turn Infinity on?
I believe Infinity is always on. At least I don't see such an option in bios.

  • Windows 7 X64, Installing Flash Step 3 of download isn't populating to finalize install

During the download process to get the latest version of Adobe Flash, Step 1-2, work, so I am able to download and save to my computer, run file, but step 3 doesn't populate to finalize install.  The process itself is running on my CPU, and when I try to download again, I get an message: (Only a single instance of application can run).  Nothing else is available to finalize install, so it seems to be stuck on step 2.  I can not solve this solution, and need help from an expert!

It sounds like it's installed, but either the remote website isn't detecting Flash or your ActiveX filtering settings need to be adjusted to allow Flash Player to run.
I provided instructions above on how to modify the ActiveX filtering settings.  Please try those and let me know how it works out.
Internet Explorer 11 in particular introduced a number of changes to both how the browser identifies itself to remote websites (hint: it's not as Internet Explorer) and to how it processes JavaScript that would otherwise target Internet Explorer specifically.  As previous versions of Internet Explorer has a unique plug-in mechanism and method for embedded plug-ins in web pages, existing websites will need to update to conform to IE11's new expectations in many instances.  You can typically add those sites to Compatibility View as a workaround, but ultimately the site will need to update, or you'll need to use an alternate browser like Google Chrome or Firefox.
