Bharni,
This patch is only needed if you need traditional Chinese TrueType fonts.
If this is not an issue in your particular portal installation you can
choose to continue the installation of iPS 3.0. If you would like more

  • Lvrt2009f2 patch install problem

I unable to install the LabVIEW 2009 Real Time Module f2 patch.  My setup currently includes LabVIEW 2009 with the Real Time and FPGA modules.  I already have the LabVIEW 2009f3 patch installed.
It is my understanding from another thread here that the lvrt2009f2 patch in not included in the lv2009f3 patch.
I downloaded and attempted to install lvrt2009f2.  Unfortunately, the installer tells me it is unable to install NI-MAX 4.3 because I already have a newer version.  I have NI-MAX 4.6.2.  At that point, the only options are Back and Cancel.  The Next button is grayed out.
Anyone else have this problem or a suggestion?
    Thank you
    Bill

    Hi Grant,
Thanks for the response to my post.  I attached a screenshot as you requested.
You didn't ask, but here is some more information that may be useful:
Before I get the unable to install message, I have the option of allowing the installer look for update notifications from NI.  It does not matter if I allow this to happen.  I get to the sampe point.
I am trying to install this on a laptop running Windows 7.  I do all my work on this laptop.  It was new a little over a month ago.  In early January I did a fresh install of the NI Developer Suite from the 4th Quarter 2009 DVDs.
My old laptop is around here somewhere.  It has Windows XP.  I was considering doing a fresh install on there just to see if I get to the same point.
    Thanks
    Bill

Patch 120011-14, which obsoletes patch 125100-10, is already installed on your system. Most likely no more actions needed from your side. If your software requires exactly patch 125100-10 and is not compatible with its successor, then you can try remove patch 120011-14.

Leela KrishnaOpatch should be higher than OUI version.. Your OPatch is outdated that's why you are receiving the above error
you need to download the latest OPatch by searching http://support.oracle.com for 'How To Download And Install The Latest OPatch Version [ID 274526.1]'
After which you can start with the Patching of OBIEE.

  • Indesign 8.0.2 Patch install problems

I have Indesign 8.0 installed on a machine that is not allowed to touch any networks. I tried to install the 8.0.2 patch on it today and the installer told me the patch was not applicable. I have gone out to the downloads section to verify that I was getting the right patch. After checking I redownload the patch (had it right the first time) and it still wont install.
Please I need some help here.

Now we selected simply the first 7 Patches  - Same phenomenon….
    Any ideas ?

Hi everyone, can someone please help me troubleshoot
the patch install problem. I am getting the
following error when installing the DST patch on
    solaris 5.8
    # patchadd /var/spool/patch/109809-05Any reason you chose that location?
    Patch directory /var/spool/patch/109809-05 does not
    exist.
Does it exist? What's inside that directory?
    Darren ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have tried with different directories as well but same error message. /var/spool/patch directory has nothing in it except the patches file.
    Thanks for you help

  • Solaris 8 Install Problem - Partition(s)

First, I am a relative "newbie" when it comes to SUN Solaris and System Adminstration, though I know enough UNIX to be dangerous (read "get me into trouble" - hahaha).
I tried to do an "upgrade" to the O/S (2.7) on my Ultra 5, but when doing an "initial install", the system will only allow me to set the partitions/slices manually at the cylinder level. Any attempts to do so have failed, as I keep getting an "overlapping cylinder" error message, regardless of how I try to setup root, /usr, etc. The Solaris 8 O/S setup swap as follows:
    Starting - 3275 Size - 1110
FYI, I was trying to do the install using the Solaris 8 CDROM, Solaris build date 2/02.
Overall, I appear to be having a lot of issues with the Seagate Medalist ST34321A (4.1 Gbyte) drive that came with my Sun Ultra 5. The drive appears to work correctly, but an attempts to "wipe out" the drive (reformat) have not met with success.
Any suggestions anyone can provide regarding the install problem would be appreciated.

If you are trying to Upgrade to Sol 8 it is strongly suggested that you do not use the Installation CD. Use CD 1 of 2 with a boot cdrom. You will have to answer the sysid questions and then should get prompted for Initial Install or Upgrade. If you do not get the Upgrade prompt then there is a problem with your original Sol 7 system. Things like nfs mounts in vfstab, links to /var/sadm/patch, pkg or install/contents.
An Upgrade should not be asking you to lay out filesystems. It should use your existing ones.

  • Patches installed since May 31 have wrong install date - always Dec 2005

Using updatemanager to display installed patch information I discovered that for many of the installed patches the latest version claims to have been installed last December while previous versions were installed at various times this year.
    For example:
    119082-15 installed 2006/05/13
    119082-16 installed 2006/05/28
    119082-20 installed 2005/12/24
But according to the patch log rev 20 was installed on July 24 2006.
Going through the patch logs any patch installed since May 31, ie in June, July, shows an installation date of 2005/12/x where x is the correct day of the month
Where does updatemanager get this information from?

Thanks to the support folk we have determined what is happening though not the exact reason why things started going wrong.
It seems that some patch/patches applied in June, possibly related to locale or at least affected by locale, changed the way pkg information was stored in the pkginfo database - specifically the installation date used full month names instead of three letter abbreviations.
[updated to correct the above. Actually it seems the full month has always been used. It was just that May, being only three letters long worked correctly regardless, so I only noticed the problem for June.]
Updatemanager uses the /usr/lib/patch/list_patches script to generate the patch information that it uses to generate its own display. That script assumes three letter month names and if it doesn't find it then a month of 00 is specified. Consequently the installation date for a patch becomes 200600nn where nn is the day. By chance/coincidence/design the zeroth month of 2006 is treated as the month before the first month of 2006, which is December 2005. As a result all the patches which generated a 200600nn date get displayed as nn Dec 2005.
As I said it isn't clear what patch (or combination of patches) resulted in the changed date format. There is a CR 6285720 that is somewhat related in getting the list_patches script updated to handle different date formats. Meanwhile you can edit the script directly to use:
    case "$MONTH_ENG" in
    Jan|January ) MONTH=01;;
    Feb|February ) MONTH=02;;
    Mar|March ) MONTH=03;;
    Apr|April ) MONTH=04;;
    May ) MONTH=05;;

  • Mini won't reboot after last patch install.

I was installing the patch yesterday and during the patch install it said there was a problem with the install. After that the computer was running slow so I decided to reboot. Now all I can get is the circle of sticks with the apple logo but I never get beyond that.
I can eject a CD by holding the mouse button.
I press C while the install disc is in but it never re-installs
All my data is on an external USB drive so I don't mind reinstalling but I'd like to be able to do so without paying someone at the apple store to do it.
Also tried holding the option key.. nothing
tried the open firmware combination.. nothing
    What else can I do?

Hi Fastfwd, and a warm welcome to the forums!
Tough without the Install disc working, but some things to try...
    Mini PMU reset...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2183
Does it boot to Single User Mode, CMD+s keys at bootup, if so try...
    /sbin/fsck -fy
Repeat until it shows no errors fixed.
(Space between fsck AND -fy important).
Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck...

Tough without the Tiger Disk problems, but try fsck...
To use fsck, you must run it from the command line. Unlike using your mouse to open an application to do something, you'll need to type a text command at the prompt (#) to tell fsck what to do. The Terminal application (/Applications/Utilities) and single-user mode are two examples of command-line interfaces in which you can type such commands. To use fsck:
    1. Start up your computer in single-user mode to reach the command line. Hold CMD+s keys down at bootup.
Note: If necessary, perform a forced restart as described in the Emergency Troubleshooting Handbook that came with your computer. On desktop computers, you can do this by pressing the reset/interrupt button (if there is one) or holding down the power button for several seconds. On portable computers, simultaneously press the Command-Control-power keys. If your portable computer doesn't restart with this method, you may need to reset the Power Manager.
    2. At the command-line prompt, type /sbin/fsck -fy
(SPACE between fsck AND -fy important)
    3. Press Return. fsck will go through five "phases" and then return information about your disk's use and fragmentation. Once it finishes, it'll display this message if no issue is found:

The volume (nameofvolume) appears to be OK
If fsck found issues and has altered, repaired, or fixed anything, it will display this message:
*** FILE SYSTEM WAS MODIFIED ***

Important: If this message appears, repeat the fsck command you typed in step 2 until fsck tells you that your volume appears to be OK (first-pass repairs may uncover additional issues, so this is a normal thing to do).
    4. When fsck reports that your volume is OK, type reboot at the prompt and then press Return.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), & use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions, reboot once more.
Then Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
Do you have another 10.4.x Mac around?

  • Sims 2 Patch Install freezes MacBook

I have my Sims 2 installed, and I downloaded the Universal Binary Patch for the game. I double clicked on the install icon, and then my MacBook freezes up, forcing me to force restart. I uninstall Sims 2, and the .plist file for it, reinstall the game, then try the patch install again. It freezes my MacBook up again. Anybody else have this problem? I can't seem to find a way to fix this. Thanks in advance.

    Greetings.
I recently read that you ran SIMS 2 on 2GB of RAM. I have recently purchased the SIMS 2 and love the game; however, there is an issue with lag. I run the program on my Macbook Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz processor on my Intel GMA 950 video card with 64 MB of VRAM and 1G of RAM. I have set the graphic settings to the lowest possible settings. Would it be a good idea to upgrade my RAM from 1G to 2G for better performance? Or does the lag result from the video card? I also intend to purchase SIMS 2: Open for Business. Would my notebook be able to handle this expansion pack with the present specifications? Any possible suggestions would be extremely appreciated. Thank you for your time and effort. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you once again.

  • Showver -p no longer show any patches installed

I am at a loss here and I don't know what to do. I am running Solaris 10 03/05 and did ran smpatch update and everything appeared to be fine installed no problems. Well now my system tells me no patches installed and I can't back down anything at all. smpatch analyze fails and returns an exception (1). As mentioned by the subject of this post showver -p tells me I have no patches installed but when I got to /var/sadm/patch and look in this directory I have a huge listing of patches installed on this system.(2) I'm trying and trying to get this system up for production as a development server for our team but i'm having nothing but problems once I get these patches installed. BTW zones doesn't work as well as several other things with this release that I believe need to be patched. One thing to note is that I have my /var/sadm symlinked to /usr/sadmv because I do not have a big enough var slice to download and manage patches. Can this cause the problem? I'm getting very frustrated at this point. Thanks for any help.

  • OS 9 Install problem on imac G3

    hello all,
i have an OS install problem on my imac . I just finished formatting the drive . the drive is
    paritioned :
    1st partition = HD1: 5.5 Gb
    2nd partition = HD2 : 2.5 Gb
    3rd partition = HD3 : 110+ Gb
Then, in order to save some time ( i thought ) , i tried directly install os 9 from an imac
DV CD , on HD1 : i thought i d be quicker so i would have to start with os 8.5 then upgrade to 8.6 and etc .
that turned out to be a bad idea. the system install warned me it couldnt install Air port because the hardware wasnt compatible . it gave me two options : either ignore this message or quit . i chose ignore : again certainly a bad choice .
After the install was finished , the mac wouldnt start on HD1 . the sytem install is apparently incomplete ,or anycase it doesnt work .
i then installed os 8.5 from original imac tray load install CD on HD2 , and it works fine .
now the question is : what should i do with my bad os9 system ? i need an operating system on this partition. perhaps i can trash it and reinstall mac os8.5 on it ? i hope there is a way to get out of this without formatting the drive again .
    thanks for any advice .

about the os9 CD : it is a retail verson , only not of the same imac model .
That is not a retail version of OS 9. A retail version of OS 9 has no dependencies on any model of Mac. You have a machine specific disc which probably won't work with your iMac.
1/ i dont know how to reformat a partition without formatting the entire drive . perhaps you can explain .
In OS X you use Disk Utility and only select the partition that you want to reformat. It has been ages since I used OS 8 so I'm not sure if it is even possible using "Drive Setup".

  • OUI patch install hangs, files being used by another application

Hi when a patch install hangs, and the OUI error message is that files needing to be reinstalled are being used by another application, how can you identify which files or processes are responsible so that they can be shut down? All normal Oracle services and DTC are shut down already.
This is patch 6810189 upgrade to 10.2.0.4 (from 10.2.0.3) which includes the April CPU on a Win32 server.

Please check any oracle service is still on ..
need to shutdown listener/oracle service .. and other db service belongs to Oracle.
You can download windows process explorer and check for any oracle process and kill those and then apply CPU
