1080p in my TV, please !

I've got a PowerMac G5 Dual 2.7, with an ATI Radeon 9650 Pro dual DVI video.
I have it plugged into my Panasonic TH42PZ81E 42" HDTV and the max. resolution I can get is 1920x1080 (Interlaced)
Anybody knows how I can get the FULL resolution 1080p ?.
I use a DVI-HDMI cable adapter but the mac tell me that the output monitor is a TV and only can swith 50 HZ or 60 Hz ( PAL, NTSC )
I don´t understand, I think that the TV througt DVI-HDMI is like a monitor...

I have a macbook pro 2.4Ghz C2Duo with Nvidia graphics. In bootcamp running xp sp3, I can get 1080p from the DVI port out into an hdmi connection into my Samsung LNT-4061f and it looks REALLY SHARP. Absolutely no pixelation. When I swap back to OSX I can only get 1080i and to be frank, it looks awful. I tried the trick with turning on show displays in the menu, setting the number of recent items to 10 and flipping to a lower res and back and even though I see two 1080 choices they both look identical - neither looks as good as windows xp can push. I couldn't figure out how to use switchres X, so after scouring the web for another answer I'm giving up. For now, I just use kmplayer running in bootcamp to watch all my movies. I much prefer the mac os and wish I could get the 1080p to work - obviously there's an issue with the OS here and it has nothing to do with the set needing to be in 1080i. I hope Apple can address it at some point.

This is a great comment. 1080P seems to be pretty much the standard now on HD TV sets so it was great to see iMovie finally supporting 1080P. The question now is how to actually get that 1080P resolution on your TV set. You can't burn it onto a DVD of course. You could upload the 1080P video to Youtube but again, how do you view it on your TV? I have an (old) Apple TV and that can connect to Youtube but it won't support 1080P, only 720P.
Supposedly, an XBOX 360, which I also have, will play video in 1080P. Microsoft has their own issues and even though my XBOX has a 250GB hard drive, there is no way to get any home video footage onto that hard drive. Microsoft doesn't support that.
Thoughts anyone?

MacBook Video Out problems.

Hey all.
Bit of an issue regarding my Macbook. It's a 2ghz Duo With ram upgraded to 4gb by myself. For some reason the video out on my Macbook has decided to stop working. Is it possible that it's hardware related? I have tried the following.
1: Bypassing my Onkyo TSR 609 amp straight to TV
2: Lowering resolutions (although 1080i and p was fine)
3: Bootcamping into windows to see if its an OSX issue. (my friends Samsung laptop works just fine through all the various combinations)
4: Punching it.
Im at a loss now, was working fine, got my new amp and was working fine through that for a week (havent changed any settings on it, and as I said same issues straight to TV which is a 42" Sharp XD1E) and the picture just comes out as multicoloured digital noise but you can just about make out whats on screen.Its a fairly weak connection on the MiniDVI port on laptop itself, It's connected via MiniDVI to DVI/HDMI dongle. I have also swapped out cables. It's not the amp as my PS3 blasts out 1080p with NO issues, please help!

Your Mac runs maintenance in the background for you.
Command + R gives you access to restore, repair, or reformat the drive using OS X Recovery
No idea why that was suggested.
You may have a third party video player installed that's causing an incompatibility issue.

Flash Player 11.3.300.262 crashes Firefox on Win7x32

Hi everyone.
Flash Player 11.3.300.262 is better from the last one, but I still can’t use it.
It doesn’t work in a computer that I have with windows 7 and 32 bits. The Firefox crashes, Opera and even Chrome don’t work properly.
It works on other computer that I have like, Windows Vista 32 bit (I have to disable Real Player). Other with Windows 7 64 bit.

T510 - Ultranav middle button click + touchpad move for scroll issue

I am used from my t500 to click and hold middle button on the Ultranav and move up and down with the touchpad to scroll up and down. However, this does not work on my t510 anymore.
At least it does work sometimes for some seconds in google chrome; but just for some short moments.
The default behaviour is, that when i'm clicking the middle button the scroll symbol in form of a little scrollbar appears. I can then scroll by using the trackpoint, but not by using the touchpad. Using the touchpad has just the effekt, that the symbol disappears.
Sometimes another symbol appears; its the symbol with the arrows pointing in all direktions. Only when this symbol appears i am able to scroll by moving on the touchpad.
Now i am looking for a solution to my problem.
by the way: when i use the trackpoint, the touchpad is locked for some seconds. Is there a way to disable this?

There is an option to adjust how many lines the scrolling wheel skips but nothing about auto-scroll.I tested it.
It seems like if I use the Auto-scroll and keep the mouse literally 1 pixel below the circle, it will be barely slow enough for reading long articles but you really have to spend a minute and a magnifier to make sure you put the mouse pointer exactly 1 pixel below the circle, otherwise it gets too fast.I'm NOT exaggerating the 1 pixel part. My screen is 1920x1080.Maybe that makes things worse.
I was hoping to adjust the number of "pixels" the pointer has to travel to increase the speed from 1st to 2nd stage.Basically, to increase the distance you have to move the mouse in order to increase the acceleration.
I'm not sure if anyone here uses 1080p screen.Could you please confirm that it's also 1 pixel for you ?

BUG/CRASH when exporting 1080p project containing DSLR footage. 720p works fine. Please fix or respond

Hello,
I would like to report an application crash for iMovie mobile. After the recent update (1.2.2), adding the functionality to import footage from cameras other than iOS devices. (DSLR, HDV, HD, MP4 etc.) I recently created a 12min project in iMovie which contained all clips shot on a Canon DSLR. I was able to export a 720p movie to my Camera roll when the project was completed. However when trying to export a 1080p movie it always crashes around 20 seconds after starting the export process. This leads me to believe that there is a bug. I also tried this on 2 other devices (iphone 4s and friends iPad 2) all of them are having the same crashing problem.
I made sure that there was enough space as I'm aware the 12min 720p movie alone was 800mb. Meaning the 1080p file could not exceed more than 2gb. I had 16GB of free space and no other applications running in the background and they would all crash around the same 20 second mark.
Please Advise if this is a known issue already in the works.

Red Static at 1080p but not at 720p? Help Please!

So I have the main issue posted in another thread - my miniDisplayport to DVI/HDMI is no longer recognizing a monitor I have been using since I bought the computer in July. I think the problem is 10.6.5 and up so we'll see what happens there...
I have an external running OSX 10.6.3 and that allows me to actually output the video through the miniDP --> DVI --> HDMI adapter --> Monitor at 1080p (yes the monitor supports it!). It used to output fine at 1080p but now it has red static. If I drop the resolution on the external to 720p, no more red static.
If I use the miniDP --> DVI --> HDMI adapter --> my TV, I don't get red static so I am assuming it is not a cable issue. Also, I haven't done anything to the cables that should warrant a change.
I have even taken off the HDMI adapter and run it miniDP --> DVI --> monitor, with similar results. I don't see the same options but at 1900 x 1080 I get red static but at 1600 x 1200, it's gone.
Anyone have some insight into this.

All these issues began maybe a month or 2 ago. Everything was working flawlessly. One time, I lost my connection and that's where everything got messed up.
My main problem is that I get this "Unidentified Network" in the network and sharing center that seems to be causing the problem, as far as I know.
I connect the router and get the Unidientified Network icon, plus another one. I deleted one, but it was still there. Even if I try to merge them, nothing happens.
I even connected the modem directly and could not connect to the internet for some time, because Vista was still looking for the previous setting (back when the router was working). I had to unplug the modem several times, reboot, etc. I tried so many things that I lost track of what made the computer work again :lol.
I tried to connect the router last night and nothing. The only thing that seems to work is unplugging the router for a long time/resetting it, then Vista will make the connection, but if I restart, the internet it's gone.Message Edited by jt001 on 04-05-200705:31 AM

The project's automatic handling of setting the project preset can be flawed at time. So, let us rule this factor in or out by you setting the project preset manually.

Open a new project and take Premiere Elements 11 to its Expert workspace.
Then File Menu/Project/New and Change Settings.

OK out of there.
When you do, you will be facing the New Project dialog. There make sure that you have a check mark next

When you are back in the Expert workspace, use Add Media/Files and Folders/Project Assets to import your
1080p60 file into the project. Drag the file to the Timeline. How does it present in the Edit area monitor?
At the Timeline level, is there no colored line over its content or an orange line over its content?
Part 2.
Right click the thumbnail for the file in Project Assets, and select Properties. What does Properties show for the frame size?
Right click the thumbnail for the file in Project Assets, and select Interpret Footage. In the Frame Rate section of Interpret Footage dialog,
what is given as the file's frame rate. In the Pixel Aspect Ratio section of Interpret Footage dialog, what is given as the file's Pixel
Aspect Ratio?

1080p, 4s, doesn't exist? please help

I'm trying to get my videos to my computer - not to youtube or to facebook but to my computer. I tried e-mailing and all I get are 320p videos.
I'm using my 4s, updated to latest iOS.
I'm using the Camera app
I'm using it horizontally in landscape mode
How do I get these videos, that I assume are 1080p on my phone to my computer?

Please enable 1080p playback in Belle models

I'm a Nokia 701 owner over 6 months now. It is a great device in almost every aspect. But it puzzled me why it can't play 1080p videos when it's hardware is more than capable ( Broadcom's BCM2763 with Videocore 4 engine). Was hoping the phone would get this functionality with FP1 update, but no.
Now, I paid quite an amount of money for this phone and I didn't go Galaxy S II way at the time (which is fully capable to play 1080p). Nokia 808 PV has the same hardware and no software restrictions for 1080p playback. It is clear that only someone's decision and software restriction is preventing 1080p playback on Nokias 603, 700 and 701.
I respectfully request that the next software update allows the same 1080p playback on these devices as it is done on 808 PV.
PS.
Before someone says that 1080p or even 720p resolutions are an overkill on phone's display (in terms of picture size, they are), I'll state that I have a 32GB mSDHC card and a lot of 720p and 1080p videos 100MB-1.5GB that I want to watch on my phone (I often travel) without having to reencode them.

Welcome to the  Discussion Forums.
Generally speaking volume isn't controlled in that way, for example it isn't usual to be able to control the volume of a movie from a DVD player.
That being said  have implemented volume control for audio content through the tv, although it should be noted that the remote keys used to adjust audio are used for other purposes when the tv is playing video. I therefore think it unlikely that they have the ability to add volume control for video in the way you suggest.

I play my Xbox360 with this TV. When I play on 1360x760 relotion, it is perfect. But when i play on 1080i(p), the display on the monitor exceeded the border of monitor. I have to play on 1080i(p) for some reason. how can I make the Xbox display fully shown on my TV?

I have a 13 inch Macbook which I've linked up to a 21 inch Samsung monitor ( 1080 ). The second I do this, all documents on my Mac appear squashed and I cannot see them full screen ( I have to spend my whole time scrolling around to see docs fully )
I've been into the monitor ratio in the system prefs -
It was set to 1600 x 1200 and 1280 x 800
It's now set to 800 x 600 and 1024 x 768
I don't even know which I should be altering.
Ideally I'd like it all fullscreen ( widescreen ) but if I have to have it at 4:3 then I'd at least like to be able to view things fully. It seems to work fine when going fullscreen on you tube, but for office presentations and photo previews etc I can only see a portion of the original.
Is this just something I have to get used to?? Would a differently sized monitor or even a mac monitor make it all ok?
I'd really appreciate anyone's help,

Thank you so much for replying. However I was about to remove this post. I worked out how to do it!
If anyone is having similar issues then turn off mirroring and change the arrangement in display preferences so that the monitor works as the main display and the macbook just shows the desktop. I then turned down the brightness levels on the macbook to conserve power.
