1080x 1920 AE Comp to FLA FILE. the xfl can't create FLV files greater then 1920x1080

I need help! My problem is the following:
I need to transform an AE comp into a FLA file (not an SWF). The comp is 1080 by 1920 (vertical) and I tried to use the XFL file but I get a 1080 by 1080 FLA file when I open the XFL in Flash. then maximum supported by XFL 1920x 1080 (the opposite).
a) I tried in AE to export a sequence of PNG to import it into FLASH inside of a movie clip, but I only can do this on the first 100 frames then it crashes all the time.
b) Use different import file types when to import to Flash?
c) Scale the comp in AE to 608x1080 and then scale on a FLA FILE?
No success!
What can I do?

Now, Im kind of worried of what I can lose of quality or noise on the effects, because of the transfer from AE to FLA? It all vectors, so it doesn´t loose nothing, right?

Hi, it's important to Repair the Disk, or at least Verify Disk before Repairing Permissions.
Also, how much free space is on your Hard Drive?
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.

I'm seeking help with this issue i encountered after installing and reinstalling MAMP, trying to set the root password for MAMP, which never worked, hence i continue uninstalling and reinstalling MAMP, couple more times, however one point in time it gave me this erorr:

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.

How do i show a button based on the value of another button (value is greater then 0)

I'm am building a form in indesign, and just want to add a visual icon next to buttons when they are filled out... check mark next to a drop down list... so the list have values and i want the check mark (button) to show only when the value of the drop list is greater then 0... can this be done?... easily?....

its been a while since i have been back to this project…..
now i have time to dedicate to this to get it done….
if you don't mind i really could use a little help..
i want to start again and give you the full scope of what i am trying to do, i don't have any real hard files yet...
its pretty simple (in theory)..
So i don't know what you do for work, but i work in an environment that has some pretty lazy sales people,
so i want to create a pdf that steps them through a bunch of questions that they have to answer...
my thought was, lets break this out into sections…
so section one has three questions, if they answer all three, then they get a checkmark and section 2 appears
which would have a few questions in it… etc….
there would be some easy cross referencing and excel type calculations,… and a few, if you answer yes then another field gets auto filled..etc….
can acrobat handle this?… or am i wasting time thinking it can?...
i primarily work on mac's but we do have a PC with live cycle...
thoughts?….

If I get the Iphone, can I create a separate account and move all my music sucessfully from my Ipod to my new Iphone?

I want to know if I can create a separate account from the one that my ipod belongs to and transfer all my music and movies to that new account which will have my iphone on it. Not all of my music is bought from the Itunes store though. I downloaded some from youtube and CDs. Can I also transfer those songs onto my Iphone?

After funcitoning WELL for a long timeon my Pages 2.0 has developed a SERIOUS, DISABLING problem — when I try to SAVE a new file, I'm informed

welcome to the Pages Discussions. This sounds like access privilege problems. Where do you want to save the files? Have you noticed a probleme with your system soon before the first time this error appeared?
Select the folder where you want to save the document and press the keys "command+I" to show the info window. There is a section at the bottom which you can expand with the triangle and where you can see what you are allowed to do. If you have the right to save into this folder, have a look at the higher level folder and then the higher, etc.
If you notice that you have no privilege to save, click on the lock (may be you need admin rights) and change the privileges.
If it seems that this don't work for you, because of more and more incorrect access privileges, start the DiskUtitlity app and see if it can find errors etc.

You create your flash application in Flash Professional by creating new FLA file and editing it. The output (flash application) of this proces is SWF file. Which is then played by Adobe FlashPlayer.
When you test your project, the SWF file is exported and then opened by flashplayer.
FLA is your source file and you keep it on your computer for later editing.
SWF is your actual application and you deploy (copy) it on the server or wherever you intend to deploy your application.
If what you're trying to say is that you wish to debug your application, then test it not by pressing Ctrl+Enter, but Shift+Ctrl+Enter.

Signature preferences (AIR) are not saved in the fla file

Hi,
- I create a new fla file in Flash CS5 Professional,
- I go to publish settings and select AIR2 as the target
- I click the Settings button on the right
These settings are supposed to be saved with the fla file, since all of them are related to the project.
Application name, icons, files to include, etc, are all preferences related to the fla file of which you are editing the settings.
However, when you go to the "Signature" tab and select a digital certificate to sign the air application with, this setting will NOT be saved into the file.
Instead, whenever you publish ANY air application, it will use by default the last certificate you have used, even if you used it to publish _another_ application.
That is absurd, because this is a tab within the "publish settings" and all publish settings are specific to a fla file.
Is there a way to fix it? Perhaps some global preference somewhere, or a windows registry key?
Or is it just a bug?

I would think the signature is the signature specific to the user/company who has opened the fla and is used to identify the developer/company who has created the application.
Now if the signature setting was saved on the fla, and the fla is opened on a different guys machine,
first - he would not have the signature that you had and at the same location
second - it does not make sense to him, since he is not you.
It is unlikely that that a person/company creating applications would sign the swf/air with different signatures.
So I would think that the current behaviour is correct and the signature is specific to the person who has opened the application rather than the application itself.

Type Shifting/Smearing as Animation progresses in the Timeline when .fla file is reopened.

A simple animation has been created using words as symbols. Each word has it's own movement, coming in from left to right, top to bottom, etc. There are no issues when the file is first created, but on occasion, when the .fla is then reopened (on the computer it was created in, or on a different computer) some of the type, seems to be out of whack. Literally as if, water had dripped on ink on a piece of paper, the type is smeared and smudged, as the timeline progresses. The animated treatment is still kept in place, just the type itself is affected. The smearing/smudging is not consistent every time, it varies from each time the file is reopened. But – sometimes, the file is completely normal.
Thinking it may be a RAM issue, closed all other programs, and gave Flash some more space, but that doesn't seem to completely fix the issue. Here attached is a screenshot of what the .fla looks like. I am working in CS5 on a Mac OS X 10.6.7. I am also using FontExplorer X Pro for font management. The issue doesn't seem to be with this particular font alone– other files with different fonts seem to have the same problem.

I figured it out myself, shortly after I posted this thing. Try to update your Mac OS. I'm on 10.6.8 now, and it seems working to be fine. If it doesn't work I can try to find the article I found that fixed it for me. Hope this helps!

Connecting a .as file to the .fla file

I have written my .as file to 'make a scrollbar work with text' but the on line video training missed out the last step.
I now have my 'package' defined in my .as file . . . how do I 'link' . . . 'connect' it to my .fla file?
Also, wouldn't it be easier just to write the code in the .fla action layer than a .as file???

If you have created a class file, then you need to "import" the file in the main fla and then declare an instance of it and add it to the stage.

Personally, I don't deal with classes that much, so for me, yes it would be easier to add the code to the fla file. Whenever I do deal with as files I end up forgetting to save them every time I add or adjust some code, which can be troublesome when troubleshooting. If the code is in the fla, I don't have to remember that all the time.
There is a practicality consideration to weigh in deciding whether to use class files or not.... if you are only going to create a one time design with unique features, there isn't much benefit in creating classes. Classes become meaningful when you are creating re-useable code... code that can quickly be applied to new projects the same way you might add a component or a textfield.

Is there any way to compile FLA files into SWF files on the command line?

I am using Adobe Flash CS4 Professional on Windows XP. To facilitate automated nightly builds, I have been searching for a way to compile my SWF files from the FLA files under source control, but without luck. The tools in the Flex SDK looked promising, but we do not use Flex. Thanks!

Why don't lower level classes recognize symbols used in the .fla file?

I'm trying to reorganize my code. I have a Paradox.as file, which is linked to a Paradox.fla file. When I referenced symbols placed on the timeline in my Paradox.as file, my animation code works. Then I decided to move the code lower down into the hierarchy. In my Paradox.as file, I create new instances of the Character class. The following is the folder hierarchy for the related files. * denotes a folder, and tab denotes its contents:
*Paradox 1-3
     Paradox.fla
     *code
          Paradox.as
          * Player
               Character.as
The symbol "player" is a Character type symbol on the Paradox.fla timeline, as are several other symbols. Everything works just fine if I'm referencing these symbols in Paradox.as. However, when I moved the code to Character.as (changing former references to Character type symbols in Paradox.as to "this" in Character.as), none of the symbols on the timeline are recognized any longer. This is true of both Character type symbols and other types of symbols placed on the timeline. Why? Does Paradox.as recognize the symbols only because it is linked to Paradox.fla as the Document Class? I even exported the Character symbol to Character.as...

Oh. Yeah. The .as file linked to the .fla file works just fine. What I was saying in my original post was, even though that part worked fine, when I transferred to a lower level class that was not linked to the .fla file but was instantiated in the .as file that was linked to the .fla file, I couldn't access anything on the stage directly. What I ended up doing was passing the references to the lower level class.
I can't find the checkbox where it says "Automatically declare stage instances", but fortunately for me it's enabled. When calling a MovieClip that's on the stage, I only have to use its name in the .as file that's linked to the .fla file.
