1099misc processing and corrections - How does your company deal with it

When we went live with SAP, we implemented a hybrid, SAP and in-house developed solution to handle the 1099misc reporting and corrections process.
We run a Z version of RFW1099M program to produce our initial file for 1099misc reporting
We run a home grown program that takes in the file produced by our Z version of RFW1099M and any other miscelleneous files that we need to bring in for 1099misc and we produce the first cut of the 1099misc SMART forms (we don't use the same form that SAP has as standard as we produce a pressure sealed one) and a 'final' file to go to the IRS.
This home grown program also allows us to modify the 'final' file to produce corrected 1099s.
The issue that we have going forward is that there are IRS changes for 2009 that require changes to the way 1099Misc corrections are reported. I have ideas about how we can change our home grown process, but was wondering how everyone else deals with the process?
Why doesn't SAP have a comprehensive, integrated solution to 1099M reporting? What does your company do?

Hi Marianne,
Report RFW1099M is fully compliant with requirements of IRS. Please also note that if you are on release 470 or higher you should use report RFIDYYWT instead of report RFW1099M, as SAP only supports report RFW1099M in releases 46C and lower.

I shoot in RAW and never use lossless compression only uncompressed RAW because of my conservative nature . But now it looks like I will be using Lossless compressed to help deal with the file size. So the question was based on fears of data lost. Thanks for the replies, and they confirm what I already suspected. So now I can feel confident using lossless compression.

How does initial sync deal with settings on secondary PC?

There are two ways that I can imagine Firefox sync deals with the INITIAL sync:
1- Ignore sync-able settings on the secondary desktop and wipe them out with settings from the primary desktop.
2- Synchronize/merge the settings from the two.
In my case, I want -1- and, I suspect, the answer is -2-. How can I achieve -1-?

OK, I ended up copying the profile from the primary desktop to the secondary desktop so that it would make no difference whether the initial sync was override or merge. Then I setup the sync and can now answer my own question:
The default is merge. There is an option to override, but it's not an "in your face option" -- you have to push the Options (I think) button to make the choice.
But I recommend doing the profile copy because that will copy most of your addons. Why not ALL? I have no idea.

A simple example is in the most basic class Object, you have a toString() method which uses String class, but, a String is an Object class first. So when the compiler encounters this circular dependence situation, how does it deal with it?

I studied this a while ago... I think I know the answer, but you can still confirm it.
Suppose you said javac Object.java, the first thing it would do is load the file into memory and layout its functions. Then it will search for dependencies. Finding String on in the classpath, it loads that up into memory too. It then searches for String's dependencies and so on...

I would like to know how other companies handle user password changes with Sun One Portal Server 6.0. Do you have an option in the portal server window itself or do you direct users to a page on the directory server?

Just a little note
When you login into the portal server, you actually login to the Identity server (DSAME), and have a DSAME session, and when you logout from either amconsole or portal window you logout from the DSAME. The portal server uses Identity server for authentication purpose (if you see the login page you will notice the login action url is "/amserver/login" and the logout url is "/amserver/logout").

Restore your new iPad from your most recent backup of your iPad2 in iTunes when you set it up, and then set up your wife's iPad2 as new device in iTunes by clicking on 'restore' on the main summary screen.
Alternatively, you can just go to 'Settings>Reset>Erase all Contents and Settings'.

Windows 7 (64 bit), BT Broadband. How does BTYahoo Mail synchronise with mail in LiveMail or Outlook? I ask because in my case incoming emails to Outlook (and previously to Windows Live Mail) are also recorded in the BT Yahoo Mail inbox. However the mail in the Sent box are not recorded on BTYahoo Mail. Neither are sub accounts mail in Inbox or Outbox in Outlook shown in Bt Yahoo Mail. Is this normal or do I have to change something to keep BT Yahoo Mail in step?

It sounds like you have your email set up as Pop. This only pulls emails down from the Inbox of the acct. It doesn't upload emails up to the server. That would need the acct to be set up on Outlook as IMAP. Unfortunately, I don't know the details for that, but one of the fine folk on here will be able to provide those for you. I'm not sure if yahoo has it's domain details set up so you can automatically set it up as Imap by letting outlook create an IMAP acct on there, never having tried it. If it does, it will just be a case of creating the email address again automatically, selecting IMAP rather than Pop when creating. You may also need to select IMAP as being allowed to be used within the settings on yahoo mail, but as I said other folk can provide a lot more cogent information with regard to the yahoo element than I can.
With regard to the sub-accounts showing on Outlook but not in the webmail, they would have their own webmail inboxes, which don't show when not logged into them. They would be showing on Outlook becuase the relevant email has been set up on there.

Isn't Outlook simply an email client or a software application on a computer? You can add an email account - whatever email provider that you use - right on the iPad. You can sync your Outlook contacts and calendar if that is what you are asking about, but Outlook itself has nothing to do with the iPad.

For a multithreaded server you will need a thread to listen and at least one thread per client. If the conversation is half duplex, one thread per client works very well, if it's full duplex you will find one thread to send and one to receive much easier to program.
I posted a Simple Socket Server that uses 1+2*clients threads.
