10g AS: How to run 2 Midtiers in one infrastructure

We are trying to install two midtiers of Portal 10g (let�s call them internet and intranet) using one and the same infrastructure (infstr1).
So far we installed the 10g infstr1 using an existing Database placed on a different server. We also installed the internet-midtier of 10g Portal. The installation went, isntead of some minor adjustments, very well, thanks for the good programming.
Then we installed the intranet-midtier of 10g Portal on the same machine in a new oracle home. But now we are no more able to access the internet-midtier of 10g Portal.
My Question: In general, is it possible to install two midtiers on the same machine using the same infrastructure also installed on the same machine by having the database placed on a different server?

My Question: In general, is it possible to install two midtiers on the same machine using the same infrastructure also installed on the same machine by having the database placed on a different server?Though it is possible to install multiple midtiers against the same Portal repository, using these midtiers to access the same Portal with different site url's in not possible. Portal maintains the details of the webcache of the midtier in the repository for cache functionality. Anytime new Portal midtiers are added the new webcache entries would overwrite the existing entries (unless one selects not to configure Portal during the midtier install.) How to add new midtiers without overwriting the existing entries is detailed in the loadbalacer section (advanced Portal configuration chapter) of the Portal Configuration guide.
Multiple midtiers are added to the Portal for scalability and performance reasons and not for accessing it from multiple url's. These multiple midtiers are always frontended by loadbalancers. Please refer to the advanced configuration chapter of the Portal configuration guide which details how to setup reverse proxy, virtual hosts, load balancers based on your deployment requirements. iAS also provides a list of recommended deployment topologies in its documentation.

I suggest you to check the supported server for B1 in this link:
http://service.sap.com/smb/sbo/platforms
You will know the sap b1 supported platform.
If you really want to use maxDB on linux/W as B1 server, you can send a development request to SAP AG.

i have an requirement in informatica like, i need to call Sequence of Excel files ie(contact1.xls,contact2.xls ...etc ) through the infomratica mapping->workflow. this number of .xls files also not constant ie it might be 5 today , for the next run it might be 10..etc. its like For each loop kind of . once it loaded one by one .xls data into table the loaded file need to moved to Archive Folder .How can i achieve this with informatica mapping and informatica work flow?

try selecting the photos that you want however many- go, File then Export.
you can make all your file selections image size etc and then save them direct to your PS file.

How to run more than one vi simultaniously

hi
i need to run an error vi that waits for the confirmation from the user that he saw it (while it's front panel is open). in the mean time i want all the other parts of the program to go on and do it's work(loop 1).
i am using a queue to pass the errors that the first loop generates from time to time. but still the loop stops after one loop is ended and it waits for the error vi to close.

You have wired a constant to the termination terminal of Loop 1 that tells it to stop after one iteration. The loop with the error vi in it will also stop after one iteration. However, if the case is such that you enter the error vi then the error vi must execute completely before the loop is ended. I would suggest that you put a stop button on the front panel and use this to terminate the conditional terminal, although it's not entirely clear to me what you're trying to do.
Also, on a side note, I noticed that you put code in the block diagram to increment a counter on each iteration. I assume that this was for troubleshooting since the data is not used anywhere in the code. This could have been accomplished by simply reading the iteration number from the
iteration terminal (the blue i in the lower left corner of the loop). In the event that you actually needed to create your own counter you would be better to use a shift register to pass data from one loop to another than to use the value property nodes.

How to run reports thru menu in 10g

Hi,
I'm a junior oracle programmer and have already migrated forms 6i to 10g. Now I have to migrate the reports to 10g. I have read many documentations about running report from forms or menu, but the more I read, the more confused I get. Please note that I am very new to all this oracle stuff. So please bear in mind that I might not understand everything too well. Thats the reason I would like help from you experts out here.
We have a menu (mmb) which has two horizontal sub menus (eg. Forms & Reports). Now Forms and Reports again in turn hv couple of vertical sub menus. Each vertical submenu under Forms calls a form (for eg. submenu_f1 calls forms1, submenu_f2 calls forms2 and so on). Same thing for Reports (eg. submenu_r1 calls report1, submenu_r2 calls report2, etc). Now this is what we want for the Reports. Each of our report has parameters like Begin Date, End Date, Agency_Type, Year, etc. We want our user to have one more choice in the parameters "FORMAT" (pdf, excel, html, etc) . Now this is what I dont know how to do. I cannot use run_report_object here cause I cannot create a report object in menu (like how we can do it in forms). I tried web.show_document but the problem in this is that everything is hard-coded, so I cannot give a choice in the desformat.
I would appreciate if someone can tell me how to run my report thru menu and give the user the option for the format. The users mostly want the output in excel (but might want pdf, etc too).
Plus we want to schedule certain reports to run at certain times everyday or every month, how can I do that?????
Any help would greatly be appreciated.

cannot use run_report_object here cause I cannot create a report object in menu (like how we can do it in forms).
Create a generic named Report node in the forms that you reference from the RunReport object request. This way you can run Reports from a menu

Does anyone know of a VI or how to go about writing one that will prevent the computers clock/time from being disabled while an application is running. The time and date can normally be reset while an application is running by clicking on the time/date in the lower right-hand corner of the computer screen. I have an application that runs over several days and it is critical that the time and date of the computer not be changed. Is there an easy way to lock this out from the user? Note that I am what I consider an advanced beginner in LV.

That is not something you can do from LabVIEW, as it is an operating system operation, and it will depend on the operating system that you're using. On Windows you can use a group policy to control this. Please Google on "prevent time and date change in windows".

How to run a 10g report in batch mode.

Good Afternoon,
Please advise if there is a way to run a 10g report from command line.
We use 6i right now and our job scheduler runs reports using "D:\ORADEV6I\BIN\RWRUN60.EXE ..." executable in batch mode on a separate server. We plan to migrate to 10g Database, Forms, Reports. Is there a way to keep this functionality and create a "command" to request the report server to run a report?

I have a Windows 2000 server with Forms and Reports Services installed from AS 10g v. 9.0.4 (just the Forms and Reports install). According to the OUI, Net Configuration Assistant 9.0.4 is also installed. However I cannot figure out how to run the Net CA. There is no shorcut that I can find. Can anyone help?

I assume it's because I only installed the Forms and Reports option, so I only have Forms Services, Reports Services, and the Universal Installer. No big deal - I've already setup tnsnames manually. I just like to use the Net Assistant when I can.

There are a few ways to deploy a jsp file or an application to IAS 10g. Before we run into that, can you do a basic check if jsp files does work? Please go to
http://<yourHost>:<yourPort>/j2ee/examples/jsp
and click a few examples. If it works, then you may try putting a simple jsp file, say, a.jsp in a
<J2EE_HOME>/default-web-app directory
where <J2EE_HOME> is the directory that contains oc4j.jar. Then check
http://<yourHost>:<yourPort>/j2ee/a.jsp
