10G AS Port 7777 Languag eShifting Arabic

Please find the following issues to be addressed.
1, You have portal running on ORACLE AS10G. The Server name (machine name) is http://SUBDOMAIN.DOMAIN.AE. Public(web) URL is htttp://WWW.DOMAIN.AE. When the web user accesses the portal using the domain WWW.DOMAIN.AE, portal pages are served with the url http://SUBDOMAIN.DOMAIN.AE. Your requirement is to access the portal only with URL htttp://WWW.DOMAIN.AE.
Solution:
2, You are using SSO for user authentication. SSO is installed under default port 7777. Application Server is located inside DMZ and controlled by pix firewall. When the SSO port 7777 is blocked, you are not able to login from web. How can you solve this without opening port number 7777 from firewall? Can you make SSO listen through default http server port 80? If you can the detail your solutions
Solution:
3, Your portal has English and Arabic language contents. You are using Oracle Set Language portlet for language shifting. Set language portlet is also using port 7777. When port 7777 is blocked, you are unable to do language shifting. This is same like the above mentioned case.

I Installed the Oracle 10g As on a redhat as 3 with sp4. and I did not choose any other languages support while install the Oracle 10g AS. All were fine except that while I accessed the server's 1810 port with IE6, I got additive device. Some charatersets display right while some such as buttons display as a litter pane.
so my question is how to rechoose the Oracle 10g AS's support language and set one of my preference to as default character set !
I am not sure whether this problem just relate to the emctl's startup parameter.

Finally, I reinstalled the Oracle Application Server 10g on the same Operration System. Any modification of the setting in my computer hasn't been made. in the course of installation, all the operation steps were the same with the previous time, except for adding a language support.
And this time, to access the em manager console with IE, all runs fine without any additive device. The buttons display the right words now. And I found there are something different in the folder $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/webapps/emd/cabo/images/cache/.
But I still have not any idea how to correct this problem on an installed system if I meet next time. Do I must reinstall anytimes? Or there just need to modify some config files?

Port 7777 in use, but cannot identify what is using it...

I'm having a problem with a Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.2 template (that has since been upgraded to 5.5).
When I do a "netstat -an | grep 7777", I get the following output (where the x's are the IP of this machine):
tcp 0 0 x.x.x.x:7777 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN
So, there's -something- listening on 7777.
My first guess is that there's an Oracle HTTP server install somewhere on the machine, as that's it's usual port. But doing a "ps -elF | grep httpd" comes up empty. But the strange thing is that if I open a browser to http://x.x.x.x:7777, I don't actually get 404'd - I just get a blank page. So something responded to that http request, just didn't provide any output.
Ok, well, back to netstat... I did a "netstat -npl" in an effort to get a PID associated with the process that's listening to that port, but for that entry, no PID is provided:

Poking around online, a lot of people suggested trying out the lsof command... so I did, but "lsof | grep 7777" also comes up empty.
So... any suggestions of things to try to help sort out what is actually running on 7777?

There is also $ORACLE_HOME/install/portlist.ini and some information should be in the EM configuration files.

In some of my old notes I found:
2. Are you using the correct port in your URL reference to the OMS?
To check this goto the $OMS_ORACLE_HOME/install directory & take a look at 2 files, portlist.ini & setupinfo.txt.
The portlist.ini will contain the port assignments. Default for Grid Control being 7777 (Oracle HTTP Server port) & 4889
(Enterprise Manager Central Console Port) i.e. http://<OMS_Hostname>:7777/em or http://<OMS_Hostname>:4889/em

Are you running 10g Enterprise Manager Grid Control? Perhaps there is a problem and you need to shut it down:
it's been a while since 10g, but wasn't it like: emctl stop oms ? emctl stop agent etc.

Table T522T, for Language AR-Arabic No Entries

Dear Team:
Employees belonging to country grouping 10 and having Language as AR Arabic in Infotype 0002 is facing this problem.
For Language AR - Arabic, the form-of-text has not been defined in table T522T. When we change any field in infotype 0002 and save the record, getting a dump error stating as
What happened?
The exception 'CX_HRPA_INVALID_CUSTOMIZATION' was raised, but it was not caught
anywhere along
the call hierarchy.
Since exceptions represent error situations and this error was not
adequately responded to, the running ABAP program
'CL_HRPA_INFOTYPE_0002=========CP' has to be
terminated.

AND as Language is AR - Arabic, when we try to change to EN - English, giving a Data Inconsistency error "Data record xxxxxx has grouping value "instead of "10".
When we have checked with program RPUFIXDS, it shows that No text defined in T522T for form of address key for language AR.
Now I request to clarify how to make entries in the table T522T with Language specific or let me know who can we avoid the same.

Port 7777 - downloading Web Conference Console

Even though our Web Conferencing (and all other services) are served from HTTPS (port 443) our off-site users (who are behind a firewall) get a 'network error' dialog when trying to download the Web Conferencing Console during their New User 'Test' procedure.
I have found that it only works for them if I open port 7777 back up on Apache. Apperently the console is being delivered on port 7777 behind the scenes.
Does anyone know how to configure the port being used for this particular process?

You need to change ApacheWebPort property with imtctl:
cd $(ORACLE_HOME)/imeeting/bin
./imtctl -pname ApacheWebPort -pvalue 80
This property controls on which port the console will send HTTP requests in unsecure meetings, while ApacheWebSecurePort controls the port for secure meetings. You need to keep both ports open.
Depending on whether the meeting is secure or not, one of the ports is used to download the console (New User Test is considered non-secure). This sounds like a bug though, intuitively it should use the port users type in their browsers.

You can choose from the Cisco 3560-E, 4900, 4500, and 6500 series switches. That's in order of capability (and cost!), from least to greatest.
The 3560-E and 4900 series are fixed chassis systems (the 4900M is semi-modular) while the 4500 and 6500 series are completely modular - buy the chassis and populate it according to your requirements.

Have a look at $ORACLE_HOME\install\portlist.ini for the ports in use for your installation.
By Default, it uses the non-secure port of 4889 which I do not think requires opening.

You will have to download the most recent version of the <b>Localization</b> component. I believe it's 10.3.1.5
Arabic is one of the languages, which is stated to be supported by this version. This should localize your GUI. As for other functions (e.g. fulltext search) it should be OK if the database/SES is configured correctly.
Of course, to use it, you will have to enable the language (System Properties utility) and restart the content server.

HTTP Server - change port 7777 to 80

Hi all!
I have installed, in Linux_x86 (Enterprise Linux), a database 10.2.0.1, the HTTP Server from companion CD and the Apex 2.2.1.
I want to change the default port of HTTP Server 7777 to the port 80.
For that I change the httpd.conf:
port:80
listen:80
then I follow the manual of administration of HTTP Server and I done:
as root - chown root .apachectl
chmod 7560 .apachectl
I change again to user oracle and I tried to restart the HTTP Server but i can't.
error:
RCV: Permission denied
Communication error with the OPMN server local port.
Check the OPMN log files
Now, I only can start the HTTP Server with the user root.
Is that normal? I missed something?
And now I can access the page of the http server but i can´t reach the Apex - when I write http://hostname/pls/apex - the browser change it to http://hostname/pls/apex/apex and gives the following error:
Service Temporarily Unavailable
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.
Oracle-Application-Server-10g/10.1.2.0.0 Oracle-HTTP-Server Server at oracle.com.pt Port 80

Access to SSO login when client cannot access port 7777

We have a situation in which some of our users are behind internet firewalls that only allow access to port 80.
I already have the middle tier/portal using port 80 but SSO is using 7777. Is there an easy way to make sign on available via port 80?
IMPORTANT: Both infrastructue and middle tier on are the same windows server.

I tried you method and after failed some times i found out;
inside the dads.conf
database string : localhost: 1521:ORCL ....
but when you want to loggin on your web browse, you cannot use 1521.
you need to use 7777
http://localhost:7777/pls/apex
it worked!
But I cannot access the admin page as what the manual said use the same method:
http://localhost:7777/pls/apex_admin
It said the page was not found???????????????
And I don't know how to login to the apex.
I typed in I think the right infromation:
workspace: orcl
user name: ADMIN
password: oracle( and I know it is right)
but I cannot login.
Andy idea?
