10g BPEL and Secured Service

Hello,
My 10g BPEL process has a partner link to a non-secured(http) service. Now it should point to a secured(https) service.
To achieve that I think, I need to get the security certificate and import it in keystore.
Could anyone guide me the other steps which needs to be done to access the secured service from BPEL.
Thanks for any suggestion.
Thanks and Regards,

  • Forms 10g, OAS and Web Services.... help!

    Hello,
    We're in the middle of a project that was originally supposed to be a (simple :D) upgrade of an existing Forms 6i application to a Forms 10g application.
    During the course of the project we have encountered various problems with the older forms (shakes fist at Headstart code...) and as a side effect have had to upgrade our OAS to 10.1.2.0 (10gR2). That's fine, however we have recently been looking into replacing the C++ code that the old application uses to connect to SAP with a new Web Services system, using the SAP Adapter and WSDLs and BPEL and all the rest of it (steep learning curve).
    In setting that up it seems it would be advisable for us to upgrade to 10.1.3.x (or "get a headache" said Oracle Support...) However, I now read (in an article from July last year) that Forms and Reports are not supported in 10.1.3.x...
    So, do we ask our DBAs to go ahead and install the SOA suite 10.1.3.x? And if so, do I need to do something else to support our !0gR2 forms? Or will they just work? Can we do a "clean" install of 10.1.3.x or do we upgrade the existing 10.1.2.0 system....? Colour me confused.
    Help!
    Thanks in advance
    Dan

    You are correct, Forms 10gR2 is the latest and is not available on the 10.1.3 stack. I am also not sure if you are talking about writing web services or just consuming them. However you have 2 main options.
    you can install 10.1.2 and use 10.1.2 for Forms and use 10.1.2 for your web services - this should work ok but of course you are "handicapped" by only being able to use 10.1.2 features of BPEL and WS.
    Next option, you can install 10.1.2 for running Forms and run a separate 10.1.3 for running BPEL and SOA suite - nothing wrong with that. And if you write a web service and deploy to 10.1.3 you can call that from Forms.
    Example of calling an external web service from Forms

    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/forms_modernization.html - calling a BPEL process is just like calling a web services

  • BPEL and Web Services

    Hi All
    I am a newbie to BPEL and I have an ambigious concept in BPEL; how does web services interact with BPEL?..
    Please help,
    thank you

    Mediator - its a an another Service Component (Like BPEL Process or Business Rule). Just add it to jour composite and connect - with your BPEL and a webservice. In a result webservice will go through Mediator. But for tests you can live without it.

    Another question, I am going to create a simple web service, a hello world service. I want to deploy it on weblogic server, when calling this web service, will it call the BPES process by just linking them with a partnerLink??No. If you want to start yourt BPEL - you should to run an Exposed BPEL WebService.
    If you want create your own webservice - inside it you should to run an Exposed Webservice :)
    Its simple - an exposed webservice - its an external interface for BPEL. Creating your simple composite - JDeveloper will make it automatically - you dont need to carry about it.
    There are 2 simple ways how to get it:
    1. Inserting new BPEL component - check box with "Expose as SOAP service"
    2. Insert separately a BPEL component and a Webservice component. And connect them by wire.

  • 10g forms and reports services

    hi,
    one of our small scale customer is asking for the program in 10g forms. the requirement is only to run forms and reprot against the database, (no signle sign on, internet dir etc). the question is
    1.) do he require forms & reports services to run the forms ? (stand alone or something like that). Ff Yes is it possible to purchase that alone. without other AS components..?
    thanks in Adv.
    Kris

    Hi Kris,
    My understanding is that you will require Forms and Reports services to enable your client to run the application from a server. These can be purchased seperately up to 10g R2 - but I'm not sure about the latest versions...

  • AS 10g forms and reports services install

    I only have Developer 9.0.2 loaded. I want to load AS10g Forms and Report Services but I'm not sure how this relates to my old instance of Developer. Should I reuse the Oracle Home of the 9.0.2 Developer instance for the new install or do I need to create a new Oracle Home? I noticed in the OUI that a "complete" Installation Type will also load Developer. Does this mean I should be doing an upgrade rather than an install? Do I need to just trash the 9.0.2 instance and start anew?
    Thanks, Chris

    Chris,
    I suggest to install into a complete new Oracle Home. If you mix two installs you end up with unpredictable behaviours, if not in Forms then possibly in otehr components. Note that this mustn't be the case, but better is.

  • Installation : Application Server 10g forms and reports services

    Can anyone tell me if the infrastructure database is required when doing the forms and reports services only install to get the Distributed Configuration Management functionallity to work. There is no indication in the installation documentation that this is a requirement, in fact it seems that it is not required at all. I am having to guide a service provider through an install remotely and have to give them alot of information before they will proceed.

    Hi Sandeep,
    Hope you will be fine.
    Actually I have installed Oracle DB10gR2+RHAS3 on one machine and Oracle AS10gR2 Forms and Reports Services+RHAS3 on another machine.
    1). I can manually start the database EM,isqlplus manaually after OS reboots using commands and they are working fine but donot know how to start all these automatically when the OS starts.
    2). I cannot start the IAS Forms and Reports Services neither manually nor automatic. even when my home directory was /BIN, i executed the command
    "emctl start iasconsole" it returns an error Like "BASH.........etc"
    meaing Linux does not recognize emctl while it is still existing in ORACLE_HOME/BIN directory.
    I want both (DB and AS) working fine automatically while OS starts.
    Looking Forward.

  • BPM, BPEL and security

    Does the BPM engine work with the security layer or is it required that the BPEL programmer explicitly write or interact with a security layer (e.g. checking network access credentials?)

    HI,
    I hope that depends on how you want to secure the BPEL service.
    Either you can define the username and password in BPEL. Or
    If you use OWSM, you need to again authenticate the username and password else just extacting the credentials does not make sense.
    For example, if you do not use File authenticate in OWSM policy then only security the OWSM gateway will provide is "proxifying the BPEL Web Service".
    Also can you clarify, if BPEL PM is sending out WSS headers then I think it is message producer not consumer.

  • BPEL and conversational services

    For some reason my earlier post failed. It threw up some weird error.
    I am building a BPEL which is composed of synchronous web services. The simplest of these business processes has a single synchronous web service call. The web service returns an array of java beans.
    1. My web service has been deployed on the oc4j. It is not a JAX-RPC service but an oracle J2EE web service. I used the endpoint in the properties for the webservice to create the partner link but it gives me "The downloade of the specified resource has failed" error.
    the endpoint url looks like this http://db2yg41:8888/expenseApp-ExpenseServices-context-root/ItmTypeDBService
    I also tried appending a ?wsdl at the end but that failed too.
    2. how do I assign a XML schema for the input and output variables of the Business process? My schemas are defined in a business services project in JDev.
    3. What is the best practise for modeling such business processes which are composed of such conversational services. I want to have minimum number of transformations.
    Should I have my conversational service accept XML or is it good to stick to java beans? I personally prefer having these web services accept and return java bean instances to avoid another transformation within the webservice.In that case how do I perform the transformation on the business process side?
    4.If I need to expose these business processes to the presentation layer, what is the best approach?
    Thanks,
    Jeevak

    Hi Edwin,
    I hope we are on the same note with what I meant by a conversational service, I meant either async/sync services, nothing more sophisticated than that.
    Here is what I am trying to implement
    1. I have the xml schemas for the input and output messages of the process. Some of these processes are complex involvign user tasks and tasklists which we can deal with later.
    2. The simplest one contains an invoke activity. The web service interacts with the toplink layer. Currently it just extracts the data from the toplink POJOs into java beans and returns an array of these beans. I would prefer returning an array of the POJOs unless it is better returning an xml doc.
    My concerns
    1. If I use xml docs for the synchronous service it would mean performing redundant transformations. What do you suggest is the best way to transform the xml docs into beans and back both in the process as well as in the service. I have read about orajaxb for oracle j2ee web services and xml facade within the BPEL. I want to reduce the number of transformations and the amount of code I need to write since time is an important consideration
    2. I am using the endpoint url provided by the web service properties in jdev. The problem is that the BPEL server is unable to locate this service that has been deployed in the standalone oc4j container. This is an immediate problem that I need to address.
    3. Isnt there a way to expose the business process through a facade layer, or should it always be invoked as a web service?
    Thank you.

  • Securing Services with OWSM 10g gateway

    Hi
    I have a small issue with an application we are trying to secure with the Oracle SOA suite 10g Gateway.
    We have 2 application servers which we are trying to configure in a HA configuration.
    We have several internal services that are used within our ocre application and 2 services we wish to expose to the outside world.
    We initially wanted to expose these through the OWSM gateway but seem to have problems stopping external users from invoking internal services.
    We have the BPEL, ESB, WSM Monitor, Manager, Rules installed on one oracle home and the owsm gateway and policy manager installed on a seperate Oracle home. The OHS is installed on the same machine with 2 virtual hosts with different ports externalSOA:7777 and internalSOA:8888
    We have configured the OHS to filter out certain urls for the externalSOA VH such as /em, /esb_dt, /ccore which seems to work.
    However services deployed into internalSOA:8888 are still invokable but externalSOA:7777/servicename
    does anyone have a better solution or some ideas as to what we are doing wrong?
    Regards

    Yes, true,
    I was assuming a firewall protecting internal zone is part of DMZ setup, and infrastructure is on 10g, and owsm gateway, according to initial poster.
    Protecting the internal URL, only allowing gateway requests to pass through would require the requesthandler (service URL) to look into the request.
    What we did was to let the owsm gateway do the authentication/authorization, and adding a policy step to "insert SAML".
    So the client request contains a valid username/password to be authenticated towards LDAP. After authZ an additional SAML header is added, containing a magic token known only to owsm gateway, and internal requesthandler, processing the service URL request.
    If the request did not pass through gateway it will not contain the saml magic token, and thus be rejected by requesthandler.
    11g has some improvements when it comes to protection using agents, but as long as the weaknesses are not covered (lack of gw-functionality) it would be wise to handle this in current infrastructure.
    Suggesting a switch to 11g infrastructure to solve his issue is a bit over the top., switching the entire SOA infrastructure is not something done overnight.

  • 10g BPEL process upgrade to 11g hangs in Jdeveloper and Ant script

    I have successfully upgraded several 10g (10.1.3.4) BPEL processes and ESB services using Jdeveloper 11g (11.1.1.6.0) migration wizard and deployed them to an 11g environment. Both 10g and 11g environments are up and running.
    However, my 11g jdeveloper hangs when migrating the next BPEL process. It hangs at the message box with the title: "Migration Status". I tried the Ant script and it hangs too. It hangs after printing out:
    "CompositeRefs
    [upgrade] WARNING: UPGBPEL-02009: No Binding setup for : "soapCheckPrivileges"
    . This will cause compilation of the upgraded project to fail. Check SOA Upgrade
    documentation on manual steps necessary to bind this composite reference. If ne
    cessary, upgrade and deploy any dependencies. If planning to retain 1013x nodes
    in this projects dependency tree, check earlier part of this log for 1013x WSDL
    URLs that can be used."
    I guess it makes sense since Jdeveloper and Ant script use the same code base for migration.
    One other observation is that if I kill the hanging jdeveloper process and reopen it and go through the migration wizard again, it will be successful without hanging. However, when I fix all the wsdl reference and do a build and deploy to sar. The resulting sar is defective and cannot be deployed to Weblogic even if both build and deploy to sar report success. The defective sar contains only scac.log and scac-log.xml, not even composite.xml.
    One difference between this BPEL process and others I have successfully upgraded is that it depends on an ESB service (this esb service has been upgraded and deployed to 11g).
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,

    I will answer my question. I killed the migrating Java process and the migrating wizard will report failure of migrating the .jpr file. Actually, the only thing missing in the migrated .jpr file is deployment profile which I can generate from deployment menu. And I can deploy the migrated process. This works as a workaround.

  • Invoking secured service using BPEL partner link -  basic authentication

    HI,
    We are invoking a secured service using partner link. The below property is defined in bpel.xml (basicHeaders property is created on partnerlink)
    <property name="basicHeaders">credentials</property>
    My concern is how the basicusername and basicpassword is sent to the secured webservice?
    is it sent in the calling uri ?
    I don't think it will be sent under soap header..
    Please anyone confirm.

    Hi
    I am having trouble making the BPEL and Systinet to work together. I have Systinet and BPEL installed separately on 2 different servers. I deployed my web services and registered them in UDDI. I created a new BPEL process and added a partner link to refer to one of the web service I have registered in UDDI. When I create the partner link, it is forcing me to give the wsdl and it also gives an error message " There are no partner link types defined in current wsdl. Do you want create that will by default create partner link type for you?". If I say "NO' then deployment fails. If I say "Yes", then it creates a new wsdl file on the local server etc and gives "<Faulthttp://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/>

  • Help needed: FRM-10221 on 10g r2 (10.1.2.0.2) forms and report service

    hi,
    somehow i managed to install 10g r2 f&r service on an x86 machine with rhel4 es update3. moving on, i was given working fmb and mmb ver 5 files (edited using developer2000 and run against 8.0.x db) by a collegue. i've also get 10g dev suite installed on that same machine. compiling the said 2 files were ok.
    $ORACLE_HOME is set to $ORACLE_FRS (where the f&r installed), all config files are intact except for these which were modified lightly.
    i) in $ORACLE_HOME/forms/server/default.env (originally doesn't has /myFiles)
    FORMS_PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/forms/myFiles
    ii) within $ORACLE_HOME/forms/server/formsweb.cfg, i add
    [abc]
    form=form01.fmx
    userid=userName/passWord@dbName
    pageTitle="the Title"
    lookAndFeel=oracle
    envFile=default.env
    imageBase=DocumentBase
    logo=no
    the form01.fmx and menu01.mmx are placed in $ORACLE_HOME/forms/myFiles (to reflex the setting in default.env). access to http://myServer:7779/forms/frmservlet?config=abc would give me FRM-10221 could not read menu01. how to solve this?
    can someone show me if i put the mmx and fmx in /the/developer/folder then what config files need to be edited and what variable need to be modified?
    FYI, if both files are in $ORACLE_HOME/forms (and FORM_PATH variable in $ORACLE_HOME/forms/server/default.env set to this folder) then i didn't catch the problem.
    tqvm.

    Hi Man,
    Well, I think U miss a couple of thinkg, but before we start I would like to mention to the location of your fmx,mmx files. It does not matter where I will put them as long as you will mentioned to the location at your conifg. files.
    Okay, Now I 'll make it simple for you.Normally when I I deploy FR & rep servers I do the following:
    - create a directory call application, under application create a couple of directory ex. exe, ico & env directories
    - In the exe directory will reside all exe. files & in the ico direcotry will reside all your icon's
    - under the directory env create the env file must look like than
