10g Client Installation Problem on NT4.0
Hi,
I am trying to install 10g Client on a fresh machine with WinNT4.0 (which has no previous Oracle software installtions) Service pack 6. But the installation windows starts and just vanishes.
Any help.

Have you have installed any Java VM on your machine??. Whats your hardware config?? and check for firewall settings??

Oracle 10g client installation on OpenVMS 8.3 Itanium
I am trying to perform the installation of Oracle 10g client installation on OpenVMS 8.3 Itanium. I am getting the OUI (Oracle Universal Installer) window up and as soon as I click the "next" button it errors. The error is:
SEVERE: OUI-10207:There is not enough disk space on the OUI swap area /dsa50/temp/OraInstall2007-06-05_06-19-23PM. Please make at le
ast 9MB of space available and retry.
The disk for the oracle installation temp location and home location are in different directories on the same ODS-5 formated disk. The disk has approximately 251711296 free blocks.
The trace.log located in the <oracle_home> area shows the following:

in ssGetVolumeFreeSpace:before getFreeSpace:DSA50
Vol name is DSA50
Disk name is [.DSA50]

The "temp" disk is DSA50.
Has anyone seen this issue with installation of the client on a large disk?
Are there any suggestions on what to do to correct this issue?SEVERE: OUI-10207:There is not enough disk space. This error may be present at the Open VMS Itanium platform at it is due to bug 5981203 "OUI CALCULATES AVAILABLE DISK SPACE WRONG" and bug 5580279 "OUI FAILS WITH OUI-10207 ERROR". It is fixed in 10.2.0.3.0
As a workaround, use a logical diskname or the volume name and not the physical device name

Oracle 10g client installation skips
Hi,
I have Oracle 11g database home in my 64 bit Windows 7 machine. However, now i would like to install Oracle 10.2.0 client as well. I tried giving a separate location. But for some reason, whenever i start the Setup and run the Administrator Type, the installation just skips without giving any errors. It just creates the inventory folder in the specified path.
It goes to the Product-Specific Prerequisite Checks and exits without giving any warnings or errors.
Can someone suggest what should be done here?

1)I have oracle 10g client installed in my system and the required drivers from the oracle site in xi .
2)Also I tried coping the client sw from other system in which the oracle client was working fine.when I run connect.cmd i am getting an error"ora12154:tns:could not connect identifier specified.

Oracle 10g XE installation problem on Ubuntu Linux, Oracle will not start

After installing the pakages the error is when I call sqlplus and login as SYS :-
oracleXE: error while loading shared libraries: libaio.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
ERROR:
ORA-12547: TNS:lost contact
What I have done:-
My system is 64 bit AMD.
I installed .deb package on Ubuntu 9.04 server. I installed the following packages.
1. ibc6-i386
2. libaio_0.3.104-1_i386.deb
3. bc
4. oracle-xe-universal_10.2.0.1-1.1_i386.deb.
The Oracle processes do not start after running /etc/init.d/oracle-xe start.
I can tnsping from the local machine.
dpkg -l |grep libaio gives the following:
ii libaio1 0.3.107-3ubuntu1 Linux kernel AIO access library - shared libI have been running XE on 9.04 (32bit on my laptop - 64bit on my workstation) and both works fine. I had no problem installing. I followed the directions in documents I found on Ubuntu forums and also google. The document I used to install on 64bit was from http://littlebrain.org
I remember using
dpkg -i --force-architecture libaio1_0.3.107-1ubuntu1_i386.deb
dpkg -i --force-architecture libaio-dev_0.3.107-1ubuntu1_i386.deb

and then I used the ./oracle-xe configure as root, the installation was ok - and I have even updated the APEX version to 3.2.1 on the XE installation running on my 64bit Ubuntu 9.04

Oracle 10g client installation error
Hi,
os: Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 4
oracle clien: 10.2.0.1.0
I try to install oracle10g client. At 85% of installation I get the error 'ins_net_client.mk'
I ignored the error and completed the installation.
I tried to relink the files. $ORACLE_HOME/bin/relink all

/bin/chmod 755 /shared/ora10gclient/db_1/bin/

Here I can find there are junk character files exist all over the bin and lib directories.
Please suggest me why this junk characters exist?

are you trying to install the client by some other user which is not owner of oracle:dba group?
this will genrally happen when you have different owner or manually changed the permissions.
Please check your /tmp directory for any files releated to ora:DBA may have a soft link check permissions thier.

Instant Client Installation problems
I am trying to install the 10g Instant Client to connect to our Oracle database via ODBC in Windows. I have downloaded the Instant Client Basic and the ODBC packages and put them into one folder on my hdd, ran the odbc_install.bat and added the folder to my PATH Environment variable. But when I try to create a new ODBC data source, the TNS Service Names don't make any sense and look like characters not readily found on my keyboard!
Am I doing something wrong? Is there a walk through instruction manual available somewhere?

Oracle 8.1.7 client installation problem
I am trying to install 8.1.7 client on windows 2000. When I click on intall components after the autorun nothing happens. I tried clicking on setup.exe in \install\win32
still nothign happens.

I am trying to push an agent from a 32-bit CentOS 4.5 machine (where I successfully installed EM Grid Control with Database & that's working fine) to a 2-node Oracle 10g Clusterware/RAC, each machine has 64-bit CentOS 4.5. The questions I have are:
1. Is this mixture of 32-bit/64-bit possible?
2. When I am performing agent install, everything seemed to work (with manual root.sh execution provision) but at the end it's giving a message
"Failure Preinstall Script Not Executed, Install Is Failed. Run root.sh Is Not Executed, PostInstall Script Is Not Executed. Collection Logs Is Success."
And I don't see any agent* directory anywhere in any of the intended RAC Cluster nodes -- also, no error message log!
Clusterware/RAC versin: 10.2.0.3
EM Grid Control: 10.2.0.1
I have no clue what are the meaning of these!
Can somebody please tell me how to fix it (no upgrade suggestion please)?

So could you please install OEM agent version for linx x86-64 ?
but I can not find OEM agent 10.2.0.1 version on link above. Do you have this version for 64-bit ?
