10g CRS installation error on W2k / W2k3

Question

Hello,
the installation of Oracle CRS is apparently successful, but the configuration assistants fail.
Details in the log-file:
Output generated from configuration assistant "Oracle Cluster Ready Services Configuration Assistant":
Successfully accumulated necessary OCR keys.
Using ports: CSS=49895 CRS=49896 EVMC=49898 and EVMR=49897.

Configuration assistant "Oracle Cluster Ready Services Configuration Assistant" failed
After CRS-installation the following situation results.:
Node 1 (installation PC)
File copy to c:\oracle and c:\Program Files\Oracle successfully.
Drive letter mapping (E:;F:) and formatting successfully.
File copy to F:\cdata\rac\votedsk successfully.
Four Oracle Services created. OracleClusterVolumeService started.
OracleCSService is hanging. Therefore OracleEMVService and OracleCRService couldn't start.
Error messages in the local Oracle log-file see above.
Node 2
File copy to c:\oracle and c:\Program Files\Oracle successfully.
NO drive letter mapping.
Four Oracle Services created. OracleClusterVolumeService started.
OracleCSService is hanging. Therefore OracleEMVService and OracleCRService couldn't start.
No errors in the local Oracle log-file.
This error occurs with repeated attempts (both under Windows 2000 and under Windows server 2003).
Environment:
Two Dell-PCs with in each case two 100 MBit/s Ethernet-LAN cards which one is connected public network, other is connected internal network (crossover cable).
OS is installed clean, not contain previous oracle.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

" If OracleCMService9i or the OracleService<SID> fails to start check that the interconnect is using a hub or switch of some type. In many cases, use of a crossover cable can lead to hangs because when there is loss of electrical connectivity to a NIC, it is sometimes disabled on systems running Windows NT/2000. This can also lead to an increase in time that it takes to initialize the card on a reboot. This depends on the HW platform, but in general, Oracle recommends always using a switch or hub for the interconnect, so that some type of connectivity is maintained with the Private NIC. Note: You may also be able to avoid this by disabling Media Sense in Registry, but a switch is preferred.
