I am oracle 10g DBA certified, I have attended Oracle APPS dba training, Now am planing to sit for 1Z0-238 exam, can anyone guide me do I need to register on the testing centre only OR I have to fill some online forms too ?

Mainly Oracle apps dba also manage job like core dba, but apps dba also give support to application side(EBS). Apps dba can apply db patch and also apply application path. Apps dba monitor db activity&performance and also do samethink to application etc etc..

I agree with Asif,I'm now working both as DBA and Apps DBA.You have to be strong in DBA aspects.The functional modules HR,GL knowledge will be added to advantage.In Apps you will see everything deals with file system.If you are learning apps.Can you please keep an eye on my blog.I will be putting soon all my experiment and practises and learn now from the below sites:

Or This also includes administering other s/w such as Oracle Web Logic Server, Fusion Middle-ware, Internet Application Server,Fusion Applications etc???and integrating these s/w with EBS???
Also is this under the responsibility of an Apps DBA to create Front end Menu,Responsibilities etc(That is front end system administration)??

In my opinion, an Apps DBA should have the Core DBA skills and should be able to maintain the database and not just the application tier.
Also is this under the responsibility of an Apps DBA to create Front end Menu,Responsibilities etc(That is front end system administration)??System Administrator responsibility.

can anyone explain me the *"Difference between Oracle 11i Apps DBA & Oracle Application server 10g DBA"*
Can Oracle 11i Apps DBA work in a Oracle Application server 10g DBA environment.

Oracle Apps is a suite of financial applications.
Oracle Application server is Oracle's scaled up implementation of Apache or Weblogic or similar products.
While Oracle Apps might use Oracle Application Server as middleware, Oracle Apps is much, much more than Oracle Application Server.
An Oracle Apps DBA is primarily busy on the functional side, and with implementing an ongoing stream of patches ;)
The two functions have almost nothing in common.

I would recommend that you get a proper training of it since it would provide the hands-on environment as well which would help in understanding the concepts.

Simple and stupid question for apps dba

i have configured RAC 11gR2 on a C2D machine(just two nodes are there only) at home with 10gR2 db.its just a home configuration.
As i am newbie and freshly starter,i want to install EBS R12 just to practice Some apps DBA stuff with that clusterware + 10g db.
is there anything wrong?can i do that?
which EBS R12 package to download for minimal configration for just practice stuff?
any starter guide for this installation on linux OEL 5.4 x86_64??

Since "easy" and "least work" seem important to you, I'd suggest a career in something besides IT. I could make some specific suggestions but run the risk of insulting people who work in those areas.

I am Certified for DBA on both 9i and 10g. Now I am planning to do Oracle Apps DBA Certification. Is that necessary I need to the Database Funda I and Funda II Exam again. Is that 11i Exam is alone is enough to be Oracle Apps DBA?

Since you are an Oracle 9i & 19g Certified, then you are directly eligible to write the Apps DBA Exam - 1z0-233.
Pre-requisite for 1Z0-233 exam is that one should have earned Oracle9i and 10g Database Administrator Certified Professionals can achieve an upgrade to the Oracle 11i Applications Database Administrator Certified Professional credential through passing the exam Oracle 11i Install, Patch and Maintain Applications - 1Z0-233.
