10g - disconnected analytics - duplicated data in client

hi, experts,
I configured the server and client.
now, the data can be synchronized to client.
BUt I found that during synchronization, there is no data differentiation process performed.
the data is duplicated after each synchronization.
when there are 2 times of synchronization done, the data is duplicated twice.
how to solve it?

The answer to this question is the question.. What is client-server?*
PL/SQL, SQL, Oracle, database ... all these equal server.
SQL*Plus, TOAD, web browsers... all these equal client.
Who handles the presentation of data on the client? Who has access to the client platform's keyboard, mouse, screen printer, disk drives, etc? The client.
So how can a server process or component then hack across the client-server architecture and into a client component and write data (e.g. CSV files) there?
This is a fundamental concept that needs to be clearly understood when dealing with all aspects of client-server.
What also needs to be understood that client-server is a software architecture. This means that client-server can run on a single machine. Client can run on a PC. Server can run on a big Unix machine. Or server can run on the PC and the client can run on the big Unix machine.
Which means that you can have PL/SQL code (on the server platform) acting as a client.. and use server software on your client platform to service that PL/SQL session.
For example. PL/SQL creates a CSV "+file+" as a CLOB. PL/SQL uses a FTP package and opens a client FTP session to a FTP server on your client PC. Now your PC is the FTP server and PL/SQL the FTP client. The client then proceeds to FTP the CLOB as a CSV file.

10g - disconnected analytics - tables not found

I installed disconnected analytics clients on a pc.
downloaded the sawd.dad, setup the app and synchronized.
I login the dashboard and then see this error.
State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 16001] ODBC error state: S0002 code: -141 message: [Sybase][ODBC Driver][Adaptive Server Anywhere]Table 'TABLE_ABC' not found. [nQSError: 16014] SQL statement preparation failed. (HY000)
however, I fount the .csv files are downloaded in the folder C:\OracleBIData\sync
any missing steps?

is it possible to skip the authentication when synchronizing the data on the client (no need to click the "Get Server Info" button)?

if the username is not Administrator on "Get Server Info"

The repository name = disconnected.rpd
In the Connection Pool tab, below information is given :
User name = Disconnected
Username/password = dba/dba
Call interface =Default(ODBC 3.5)
In the Database tab, below information is given:
Database : SQL Anywhere 9
On the client side, when I open the report "channel_report" in answers, it is giving me below error :
Odbc driver returned an error (SQLExecDirectW).

When using disconnected Analytics is it necessary something installed on the client?
And if so, does each client need an additional license?

It is integrated with OBIEE 10.1.1.3.0 Version. While we log on to Answers we can view the option " Disconnected Analysis" under the "more products" option
Disconnected analytics requires some amount of configuration on the client machines. If you just want to see how it would look like then check blog entry here:

You can fire this up on the same machine as the BI EE.

Discoverer 10g, it returns no data

Hi all,
I have a doubt can any one clarifies.
Currently I work migration projects from 4i to 10g discoverer reports (Upgraded 11i to R12). Previously in 4i discoverer reports many views used and data also populated. Same query in discoverer 10g, it returns no data. I can view the data after setting client org id in the toad but can’t view the data in the discoverer reports. Even I tried to register as a function for setting client org id and use in the discoverer reports but result is no rows return. Can any one suggest?

GoodDay, Previously I worked as a Oracle Developer and recently shifted into a BIG organisation as PL?SQL developer. Here my base work is with INTERFACES(Stored Procedure). That is retrieving data from client DB and need to put the data in our staging tables. For that i created 2 INTERFACES(stored procedures). One is for one time migration. No need to run on regular basis. The second one is to run regularly why because if any updations are done in client DB that should be replicate to our DB. For that we need to run a BATCH JOB regulary 24X7 basis.
But i dont have any working knowledge on BATCH JOB creation and running. Please let me guide on this issue ASAP.

Getting SQL*Net more data from client waits when running a query through web based interface

Hi, you all,
We are having this weird behavior when running query through web based interface, we get a lot of "SQL*Net more data from client" waits, the OEM indicates that the current wait event is SQL*Net more data from client
It's just a very simple query wich invokes a db link.
When I execute the same query on any PL/SQL tool like toad or sql developer it works fine, but that query inside an application executed through a web based interface, it hangs for ever.
Where can I start looking for the problem.
We are working on a 3 Node RAC 11gr2, both databases are on the same RAC.

we managed to reproduce the case in test environment, below are the steps:
1)have 2 databases on different machines, will call the first one local, the other one remote.
2)in the local database create:
a - DBLink to remote database.
b - read data from remote database(we simply used select count(*) from dummy_table )
c - insert data into a table on the local database
d - terminate the connection between the 2 databases (disconnect either machine from the network)
e - commit on local database.
what we noticed was the following:
1)when the local database is disconnected from the network(the machine is not connected to any network at the moment): almost immediately throws an error, and issuing the following:
select * from dba_2pc_pending;we found some data .
2) when the remote database was disconnected(the local database is still connected to the network):
after 7-8 seconds an error is thrown, and issuing the following:
select * from dba_2pc_pending;did not return any data.
since this is pretty similar to our case ,we concluded that it's a network issue.
is this the correct behavior ?
as a temporary solution till the network issue is fixed ,we did the following:
1) changed the call of the remote procedure to calling a local procedure that calls the remote procedure.
2) added pragma autonomous_transaction to the local procedure.
3) at the end of the local procedure rollback the autonomous transaction.
it seems that since the global transaction does not use the DBLink database does not issue a 2PC commit.
this works in my cases since the DBLink is only issed to read data.

Yes, it's recomeded to add new group , for instnace If I have 10 group from 1 to 10 then the standby shoudl be from 11 to 20

Install BEA Analytics 2.1
Hi all,
In our project we have the BEA analytics 2.0 installed , but there were some configuration error, and we are unable to gather an accurate report on the portal. Now we are planning to upgrade BEA analytics from 2.0 to 2.1 and i was wondering due to the earlier configuration error in the prior installation do i have to uninstall the existing analytics software and then install the latest version. Please let me know.

View data in client B from client A in the same SID without a valid logon?

We are planning on upgrading our 4.6C system to ERP 6.0, and are initialy considering having two clients in the same sandbox SID. One would be for the developers to perform code remediation checks (client A), and one would contain a copy of production data for performing testing of functionality over live data (client B).
Would it be possible to view data in client B from client A in the same system without a valid logon to client B or RFC connection to client B from client A? For example via the use on an ABAP program to SQL the database?
I know one can use transactions like SM30/SM31 to view, compare, and adjust data between clients, but this requires an RFC connection and valid logon to the target client.

Short answer: yes.
If someone has the right to write and execute ABAP reports on the system he is able to access the data of all clients. So I don't think that this setup is advisable. Don't mix development and production data in one system.
