After downloading disk1 my cksum is off. i've downloaded this file several times from 3 different systems.
the cksum should be 3975766251
this is what I get
cksum as_linux_x86_portal_wireless_101200_disk1.cpio
1342466498 618078208 as_linux_x86_portal_wireless_101200_disk1.cpio

Disk two seems to be broken also.

Can you please fix disk two.

  • Oracle 9.0.1 Linux Download Disk 1 Is NOT in gzip Format

    Hi,
    I tried to download twice Oracle 9.0.1 Linux on my Windows first, then tranfer to my Linux machine. All the other disks (gz files) are transfered and uncompressed into cpio files, expect Disk 1, Linux9i_Disk1.cpio.gz.
    I checked Linux9i_Disk1.cpio.gz first using WinZip on Windows, then gunzip on Linux. The problem is the same: Linux9i_Disk1.cpio.gz is not in gzip format.
    Since all the other Disks (.cpio.gz files) works fine, my suspicion is that Linux9i_Disk1.cpio.gz is corrupted on the server. Has anyone in Oracle really tested the download recently?
    Of cause next monday I will check direct download to my Linux machine at work.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
    I reported that Oracle 9.0.1 Linux Download Disk 1 does not work if I first download it to Windows. My colleague downloaded it to a Linux machine, and it can be unzipped.
    So only one disk file can only be directly downloaded to Linux.

  • Upgrading from 9,2.0.6 (HP-UX) to 10g or 11g on Redhat Linux?

    Generally what are the steps to upgrade from 9,2.0.6 (HP-UX) to 10g or 11g on Redhat Linux?
    Can I exp the database on 9.2.0.6 (HP-UX) then imp the database to a new 10/11g database (RedHat Linux)?
    Is this the simplest way?

    To change platforms require the database instance be re-built and / or the data moved using one of the following methods:
    Export / Import to include the use of Datapump facilities. all versions support Export/Import but for Datapump 10.1.0.2 or higher is required
    Transportable Tablespaces 10G or Later
    RMAN Convert Database functions. 10G or Later
    Streams Replication
    Create Table As Select (CTAS)
    Oracle Golden Gate
    As your database is 9.2.0.6 you can only use export/import. Please refer to the MOS doc 733205.1 for further clarification

  • How to install Oracle 10g on to Red Hat Linux 5 Server

    I'm new to both Linux and Oracle. I've been working on an installion of Oracle 10g on a Red Hat Linux 5 Server for about 2 weeks. I've been doing a lot of reading about installing Oracle on a Linux environment. I finally got to the installation portion and the Oracle Installer displayed a message that I had to have Red Hat 4 or 4 Enterprise to continue.
    How can Install Oracle 10g onto a Red Hat 5 Linux Server"? Is there an option that I can use to bypass the OS checking?
    Thanks

    Unfortunately there is no way to access metalink without a valid account. You could then just try to skip preinstall requisites with this clause:
    ./runInstaller -ignoreSysPrereqs
    or this method:
    Copy the oraparam.ini from the installation source install/oraparam.ini to /tmp directory.
    Edit the file /tmp/oraparam.ini so this file reads:
    After
    [Certified Versions]
    Linux=redhat-3,SuSE-9,redhat-4,UnitedLinux-1.0,asianux-1,asianux-2,redhat-5
    also, make sure you have these packages installed:
    # rpm -ivh gcc-c++-4.1.1-52.el5.i386.rpm gcc-4.1.1-52.el5.i386.rpm
    libstdc++-devel-4.1.1-52.el5.i386.rpm glibc-devel-2.5-12.i386.rpm

  • Netweaver on linux - download from SDN

    Hello Kathleen,
    Is this new Linux download (maxdb or db2) any different - with any additional functionality - from the DVD's that have been available for some time on sap knowledge-shop (www.sap.com/shop) ?
    Also, I downloaded the NW4_TestDrive.iso_Part_a* files onto my windows 2000 pc. Then burnt a dvd with all 5 files. Then used this dvd on my linux machine and entered the following command:
    cat NW4_TestDrive.iso_Part_a* > /tmp/NW4_TestDrive.iso
    (ie, I created a single big .iso file in /tmp directory)
    but then how do I use this NW4_TestDrive.iso ? I assume i need to do something like this:
    mount -t iso9660 /mnt/cdrom /tmp/NW4_TestDrive.iso
    But when I enter this command, i am getting an error - something like "...not a block device ..." Where am I going wrong ? Where can find any installation document/help/faq up-front, ie before being able to use the single .iso file ?
    to use this single .iso file, do I really need to burn a dvd? If so, can I do that in windows 2000 environment & use the dvd in linux env? Why are all these details left out from SDN? why couldnt there be any installation instructions provided in a separate small downloadable file?
    I need help !!
    thanks

    Hello Anil,
    unfortunately I do not have access to a Linux system right now to verify my suggestion, but I think you should rather try the following command:
    mount -o loop -t iso9660 /tmp/NW4_Testdrive.iso /mnt/<dir>
    of course replacing <dir> with an actual unused mount point on your system.

  • Linux Download Page appears broken.

    Hi.
    I've been attempting to download Skype for Linux.
    I can get to the download page with no problem.
    I'm presented with a list of Linux distributions, from a pop down list.
    This is as far as things go.  No download commences, and there is no download button.
    I've tried 5 different Internet browsers so far, and I have the same response from them all.  The Linux download page is behaving like a facade with nothing behind it.
    Any ideas?
    Solved!

    I've got the same problem here, so have many others.  There are no network restrictions my end, no proxy in use.  The download page only allows selection from a drop-down but performs no action after selection.  The site code is broken.
    Also Ubuntu 12.04 is the latest version offered?  That's 2 years old.  the latest LTS (Long Term Service) release of Ubuntu is 14.04
    Ditto that. And, as usual, no one from the skype itself is listening.

  • Best way to transfer a 10g database from HP9000 to Linux Redhat?

    What is the best way to transfer a 10g databasse from HP9000 to Linux Redhat?

    Hi Bill,
    What is the best way to transfer a 10g databasse from HP9000 to Linux Redhat?Define "best"? There are many choices, each with their own benefits . . .
    Fastest?
    If you are on an SMP server, parallel CTAS over a databaee link can move large amnunts of tables, fast:
    http://www.dba-oracle.com/t_create_table_select_ctas.htm
    I've done 100 gig per hours . . .
    Easiest?
    If you are a beginner, data pump is good, and I have siome tips on doing it quickly:
    http://www.dba-oracle.com/oracle_tips_load_speed.htm
    Also,, make sure to check the Linux kernel settings. I query http://www.tpc.org and search for the server type . . .
    The full disclosure reports show optimal kernel settings.
    Finally, don't forget to set direct I/O in Linux:

    Hope this helps . . .

    There is so much you aren't telling us. For example, if you created a user "oracle" to be the Oracle software owner and install the Oracle software with, there will be a directory named /home/oracle. Inside this directory will be a file called .bash_profile. You can put lines like export ORACLE_HOME=, export ORACLE_BASE= and export ORACLE_SID= so that your environment is set up when you login. Jeff Hunter has a lot of information like this on his website. Check it out.

  • Forms 10g certification on Redhat Enterprise Linux 5 ??

    Is Forms 10g certified on Redhat Enterprise Linux 5 ??

    I don't think. of sure RHEL 5 is not certified for DB 10gR2 and even for OAS 10g.
    Even if I have made an installation of DB 10gr2 for RHEL 5 with xen and it's work, meanwhile OAS 10 didn't work!
    Anyway,Try to search for certification matrix on Oracle site

  • 9ias linux download not in gzip format

    I am unable to unzip the download files ie Linux_ias1022_Disk1.cpio.gz (461,608 kb) and I have also tried to unzip them on my solaris systems with the same result. FTP binary, everything is accurate except the unzip. PLEASE ANSWER MY QUERY, SECOND POSTING.

    Now I know why you guys aren't answering my post. I downloaded another gz file from the site glibc-2.1.3-stubs.tar.gz (92 kb) and I decompressed it fine. The problem is that nothing on the ias1022 Linux download works because you don't want it to be downloaded, right? Do you really have to waste my time with this grade F technet support game? I mean I've been wasting my time with this distribution for two days, and it really is crap, right? Since the company I work for is a customer and I'm supposed to be evaluating this software, don't you think someone there should give a damn?

  • Oracle 10g Installation on Red Hat Linux

    Hi
    I am trying to install Oracle 10g (Downloaded from Oracle Site) in a Linux Installation. I have checked with the following command about the Linux Version
    # cat /etc/issue and the output is :
    Red Hat Linux Release 7.1 (Seawolf)
    Kernel 2.4.2-2 on an i686
    Then I am giving #uname -r and the output is
    2.4.2-2
    Now Oracle Installation Guide for 10g for Linux is saying that
    if the errata level is less than 25 on x86 system then install latest Kernel Updates.
    Please Let me know from where I can get the Latest Kernel Updates appropriately and what I need to do to put that patch into Linux so that I can smoothly install the Oracle 10g.
    Thanks and regards.
    Keshav Tripathy

    Jer is absolutely right.... just changing the values in oraparm.ini to reflect your kernel distribution will work for you.
    For example the file contains:
    [Certified Versions]
    Linux=redhat-2.1,UnitedLinux-1.0,redhat-3
    now to add your linux into it just check your version by issuing the command #uname -r
    in my case the output was "2.4.20-8smp". I just appended redhat before this value and entered in the oraparm.ini file.
    The new ini file looks like:
    [Certified Versions]
    Linux=redhat-2.1,UnitedLinux-1.0,redhat-3,redhat-2.4.20-8smp
    [Linux-redhat-2.4.20-8smp-optional]
    TEMP_SPACE=80
    SWAP_SPACE=150
    MIN_DISPLAY_COLORS=256
    Now you are all set to install. I assume that all other pre-requisites have been fulfilled.

  • 10g 64 bit installation on Linux!!

    i want to run runinstaller from a remote host (32 bit) to install a database on itanium server (64-bit). The installation file i have downloaded is for 64-bit Linux too. • 10G DB on which free linux?

    I'm setting up a test linux box for personal use so I can chose any free linux.
    Which will 10G run on with little or no fiddling?

    Thanks for all!, curt

    Hi,
    Just installed Oracle 10G on RH 9.
    The trick here is to modify the oraparam.ini file in the downloaded installation.
    Below are the modified oraparam.ini portions
    [Certified Versions]
    Linux=redhat-2.1,UnitedLinux-1.0,redhat-3,Red Hat Linux release 9 (Shrike)
    (This last value above was got from the first line of /etc/issue)
    [Red Hat Linux release 9 (Shrike)-optional]
    TEMP_SPACE=80
    SWAP_SPACE=150
    MIN_DISPLAY_COLORS=256
    On the Pre-requisites screen on Product selection (Enterprise/Standard/Custom) there is a failure on the CertifiedVersions check, subsequently the Security/Packages pre-requisite checks are not performs, therefore it is IMPORTANT that
    you also have to make sure manually that your free linux has all the required gcc/binutils/make versions and kernel paramaters etc required for the install as per install DOCS
    Am checking which jar file has to be modified to get this working without a error and will update accordingly.
    Regards
